Many people are wondering what can now be bought in the Russian car market for an amount not exceeding 400,000 rubles. At the same time, so that the car is not complete trash, relatively reliable, and inexpensive to maintain. The amount is not large, and if the products of the Russian and Chinese car industry do not inspire confidence for one reason or another, you will have to look at secondary market... Today I propose to consider and compare two popular representatives of the "C" segment: Nissan Almera classic or Ford focus 2.

As for the appearance of both cars, at the moment, both models can be said to be outdated, but in truth, even being new, they did not differ in particular sophistication. There is a choice of what is called the taste and color ...

In the Russian market, the Nissan Almera Classic was presented only in the sedan body, when the Ford Focus could be chosen with bodies - a five-door and three-door hatchback, a sedan and a station wagon.

In terms of interior and finishing materials, both cars have hard plastic in the cabin and fabric seat upholstery. With regard to design and ergonomics, then Ford salon Focus will be more preferable, as in the cabin Nissan almera Classic, frankly speaking, there is nothing to catch the eye. The optional equipment of the Ford Focus is also richer, although not abundant by today's standards.

In terms of dimensions, the volume of the interiors and trunks of the car, the cars are almost identical, so everyone can measure what is called for themselves.

Engines Nissan Almera Classic

As for the types of engines, only one option was installed on Nissan. gasoline engine- a volume of 1.6 to 107 "forces", aggregated either by a 5-speed "mechanics" or by a 4-speed automatic. At the same time, as many as five gasoline units were available for the Focus, with a volume of 1.4 to 2 liters.

The Nissan QG16DE engine was developed by Aichi Machine Industry in 1999 and lasted on the assembly line until 2013. It is a simple in-line "four" with a cast iron block and a timing chain drive with variable valve timing on the intake shaft, EGR system to reduce emissions and an intake manifold with variable intake geometry. At its time, it was a fairly progressive motor, which, moreover, was not demanding on maintenance. Since the cylinder block is cast iron, it can always be bored out, which is good for a used car, and they usually have rather big mileage. The chain usually stretches towards the end of its resource, which is 150,000 km for it.

This motor does not have hydraulic compensators, so the clearance adjustment valve train after buying a car with any mileage is simply a must. Often runs are wound up, and few people produce such works from the first or second owners. As sores, you can remember the still short-lived catalyst and constantly clogging throttle... For the rest, it is a simple reliable Japanese motor with an average resource of 300,000 km.

By mechanical box transmission problems usually do not happen, simple reliable "mechanics". Four-stage Jatco automatic transmission The (Nissan) JF404E isn't particularly whimsical either. The only thing that should be taken as prescribed is the obligatory oil change every 90,000 km along with the filter, and then the box can easily last 200,000 km.

Engines Ford Focus 2

Ford Focus has a much wider range of motors. The simplest engine for Ford Focus 2 in Russia is a 1.4-liter Duratec 16V Sigma (Zetec-SE) with 80 hp. The motor is pretty hassle-free, but it also has drawbacks. In addition to the catastrophic lack of power, they occasionally have a thermostat in one of two positions, and then the motor either constantly overheats or, on the contrary, cannot warm up to operating temperature. Since there are no hydraulic lifters, valve adjustment is required every 100 thousand kilometers. Timing drive type - belt. Its replacement should be carried out every 160 thousand km.

Both Duratec Ti VCT 1.6 engines are 100 hp and 115 hp. have a similar architecture with a 1.4 liter engine. The indications for service are absolutely the same. All these three motors, according to the manufacturer, have a resource of 250 thousand km, but in fact they travel at least 100 thousand km more….

Ford 1.8 liter engine (Duratec-HE / MZR L8) 125 horsepower. Unlike Duratec "s smaller volume, there is already a timing chain drive, which significantly increases reliability. But at the same time, the 1.8-liter engine has a congenital floating speed disease on Idling... This motor is actually one of the most problematic in the Duratec lineup and it is better to look at the next motor.

Ford 2.0 L Duratec HE / MZR LF 145 hp. The design is the same 1.8 liters, but with larger diameter cylinders (87.5 mm versus 83 mm). Compared to 1.8 liters, the two-liter sibling looks preferable from all sides: it is more elastic, more powerful, works quieter, and the consumption is the same, plus it does not lack floating speed, as on the 1.8 version. All motors have a problem with the fragility of oil seals. camshaft... The thermostat often breaks down even up to 100 thousand km, and the engine does not heat up or, on the contrary, overheats. You also need to monitor the condition of the candle wells, if oil is found there, you need to tighten the valve cover or replace the gasket. If after 3000 rpm the car refuses to drive and lights up Check Engine, then it's time to replace the intake manifold flap control valve. In addition, valve clearances need to be adjusted every 150-160 thousand km. Despite all these shortcomings, the motor manages the declared 250 thousand km without any problems, and continues to drive further, up to about 350 thousand km, after which everything rests on the resource of the aluminum block.

Manual transmissions do not have any pronounced problems, in fact, like automatic transmissions. Everything is maintainable, easy to maintain, and at the same time inexpensive.

Suspension Nissan Almera Classic and Ford Focus 2

Suspension Nissan Almera Classic is a classic layout for cars of this kind: McPherson front, rear torsion beam semi-independent. The suspension very well swallows our reality in the form of holes on the roadbed and in view of its spaciousness of the structure it rarely breaks down prematurely, but in the event of a breakdown, it is repaired for a penny, and it runs the same amount, the main thing is not to save money and buy original spare parts.

Ford Focus Mk2 also has a McPherson in front, but in the back in all trim levels is already multi-link suspension, and being the roots of a European car, it has a more finely tuned chassis, and as a result, sharper handling.

To summarize: Nissan Almera Classic or Ford Focus 2

To summarize this entry, each car has its own pros and cons. For all the obvious advantages of Ford Focus in view of its greater equipment and manufacturability, Nissan can beat it with a simple thing: a lower price. Due to the fact that the Nissan Almera Classic was initially cheaper as a new car, now such a car in 2012 with automatic transmission in the maximum configuration usually costs about 400,000 rubles. Ford Focus 2 for this money, in comparable trim levels, will be years older, and whatever it is initially good car she was not, who knows - how she was driven all this time.

Well, and such an important point as the assembly. Ford was going to us in Vsevolozhsk, and Nissan in Korea, there he was by the way called

Celebrated its 80th birthday. Cars of this brand are currently the best-selling cars in the world, and the Toyota brand is the world leader in the entire automotive industry. What is the secret of the Japanese car company? Unfortunately, this question cannot be answered unequivocally. Naturally, the secret lies in the products of this brand. Over the long history of the Japanese company, many amazing cars have been produced, some of which have become bestsellers. We offer you a selection best cars Thanks to Toyota, everyone will find an answer to the question of why Toyota cars have been selling best in all world car markets for a long time.

How did the history of Toyota begin? Let's start from the very beginning. In 1924 Sakichi Toyoda invented the automatic loom and created his own company, which he called "Toyoda Automatic Loom Works". Thanks to an innovative invention for that time, the company began to make good profits.

In 1929 Sakichi Toyoda sold a patent for a loom. This was necessary to fund a new car and truck division that Sakichi's eldest son Toyoda created.

After receiving the money, Sakichi Toyoda focused on creating the first cars. But their first prototypes were shown only in 1935. And already in 1936 the first production model appeared.

On August 27, Toyoda Automatic Loom Works' automotive division was spun off into a separate company called Toyota Motor Company, headed by Kiichiro Toyoda (Sakichi Toyoda's eldest son).

Since then Japanese company and releases automotive products, which eventually became the best-selling in the world at the present time. Since its inception, Toyota has produced 250 million vehicles. On a historic scale, Toyota is today the second largest automotive brand in the history of the automotive industry in terms of total production. Over its 80-year history, several more separate car brands have emerged from under the Toyota company, for example, such well-known car brands as the now defunct Scion.

Toyota continues to be the world's largest manufacturer of hybrid vehicles today. In addition, Toyota has a reputation as a manufacturer of ultra-reliable and quality cars... The Japanese brand was able to optimize its production so much that the ratio of price and quality in new Toyota cars is one of the best in the world today. Perhaps this is the main secret of the success of the Japanese car brand.

Toyota AA (1936)

The first car of the Japanese brand was the AA model, first introduced in 1936. The car was powered by a 3.4-liter six-cylinder engine. The debut of the car took place at an exhibition in Tokyo. Together with this model, a cabriolet version was presented, which had the letter designation "AB".

It was certainly a success even before production began. The car was not only liked by the public, but also to the taste of the Japanese government, which decided to allocate money for the development of production of Toyoda Automatic Loom Works. This is what led to the appearance of the Toyota brand and to the further construction of the first car plants of the company.

Toyota AE (1939)

In 1939, the second Toyota AE model was released. While the design of the Toyota AA was based on the Chrysler Airflow, the design of the Toyota AE was inspired by the Volvo PV60. Toyota AE was equipped with a 45 hp four-cylinder engine.

Toyota SA (1949)

Until the mid-1960s, Toyota sold its vehicles under the Toyopet brand in most of the world's markets. The first post-war car of the Japanese company was Toyota SA, which was equipped with a four-cylinder engine. A total of 215 cars were produced. But despite the small series, this model became a template for the future small compact cars of Toyota, which in the future were produced in large quantities.

Toyota BJ / Land Cruiser (1953)

In 1953, the Toyota BJ SUV appears on the market, which a year later was renamed to Land cruiser... This was done in response to an SUV that Land company Rover.

In 1955, Toyota introduced the second generation. Today, we want to remind you that the Land Cruiser is one of the most reliable and popular SUVs in the world. By the way, this car is produced today in the ninth generation.

Toyota Crown (1955)

Toyota Crown is very important to Toyota. The point is as follows. This model was one of the very first, which began to be sold in the American car market. This car was originally marketed in the United States under the Toyopet brand.

First versions Toyota car The Crown was powered by 1.4-liter engines. In 1960, cars received 1.8-liter power units.

Today this model is still in series production in its 14th generation. For collectors, the most valuable are cars of the 4th generation, which were produced from 1971 to 1974 (pictured).

Toyota Corona (1957)

In 1957, the first Toyota Corona entered the market - a small family car that paved the way for the most popular company and model in history.

Toyota Corona became the first Japanese car which began shipping to Europe. Including the UK. Toyota Corona changed 11 generations and was produced until 2001. True, in the most recent years of their release, these cars were supplied only to the domestic market of Japan.

Toyota Publica (1961)

Already in 1954, Toyota began developing a new economical car for the domestic market. But such a model appeared on the market only in 1961. It was Toyota Publica. This car received an air-cooled two-cylinder engine.

In 1962, Toyota decided to start exporting the model to world markets. True, cars for export were already equipped with 1.0-liter engines.

Toyota Sports 800 (1965)

Toyota unveiled its first sports car in 1962, which was named Toyota Publica Sports. The car was equipped with a powerful 2.0-liter engine and had a power of 69 hp. In 1965, the car went into production under the name Toyota Sports 800. The power of the car was only 45 hp.

Toyota Corolla (1966)

Probably there are no motorists in the world who do not know or have not heard about Toyota corolla... This model first came to the market back in 1966 and is still produced in its 11th generation !!!

Do you know any other model that would have been produced on the car market for so long in its different generations?

For 51 years of its existence, Toyota has produced more than 40 million Corolla. The most interesting thing is that the popularity of this model is still not falling. This is the best-selling car of the Japanese company today.

Toyota 2000 GT (1967)

The most valuable collector's car will always remain the 2000 GT, which was first shown back in 1965. Serial production of the sports car began in 1967. We would like to remind those who do not remember or do not know that this model was used in the filming of the James Bond film "You Only Live Twice". But despite the shooting, this car never gained popularity in those years. The car was very expensive. A total of 351 units were produced. It is for this reason that this model today represents the vastness of the whole world.

The sports car was equipped with a 150-horsepower engine. This was enough to accelerate to a speed of 217 km / h.

Toyota Century (1967)

Produced from 1967 to 1997. The car was equipped with a 3.0-liter V8 engine, which was later upgraded to a 3.4-liter power unit and then into the 4.0-liter engine.

In 1997, a completely new Century appeared on the market, similar to the original, with a 5.0-liter V12 engine. The car was created mainly for the domestic market. In Japan, this car ranks on the same level as the Lexus LS.

Toyota Hi-Lux (1968)

In 2018, the SUV will celebrate its 50th anniversary. The fact is that this pickup SUV is still produced in its 8th generation. The secret of its popularity lies in its reliability and passability. This car has become indispensable for those who do not like asphalt roads or for those who live in regions where asphalt roads can only be watched on TV.

Toyota Celica (1970)

If you take a closer look at the 1970 Toyota Celica, you will probably notice the resemblance to a car. Apparently the Celica designers were heavily inspired by the design and style of the American sports car.

But despite the obvious imitation, Toyota was able to prove to everyone that it also knows how to make cars in terms of their functionality, no worse than other manufacturers.

Serial production of the Toyota Celica ended in 2006 (the 7th generation was already being produced at that time). A total of 4,000,000 cars were produced.

Toyota Camry (1982)

The Camry sedan has long been the best-selling car, and not only in the North American market. This model has been in great demand from the very beginning in many car markets. Recall that due to the harsh conditions for the import of cars to the United States, Toyota launched mass production Toyota Camry, back in 1988, in the states of Kentucky and Georgetown, USA. Naturally, all this led to a decrease in selling prices for cars. This provoked an avalanche demand for the sedan in the United States. As a result, from 1997 to 2016 it was the best-selling car in America.

The secret of the sedan's popularity lies in its reliability and value. Many world leaders are striving for this today. car companies... But, in terms of price / quality / reliability, no one has yet been able to get around Toyota.

Toyota Corolla AE86 (1984)

Also produced under the brand name Corolla GT. This is a three-door coupe with rear wheel drive, it was equipped with a 1.6-liter engine, which was installed in the MR2.

Toyota MR2 (1984)

When Toyota launched its two-seat, two-stage mortar in 1984, it was a breath of air for fans of low-cost sports cars... Yes, of course there were rivals on the market at that time, for example, cars such as, Honda cr-x, Mazda RX-7 and even Caterham Seven, but Toyota MR2, according to many experts, has already surpassed its competitors in all their parameters.

Toyota Supra (1986)

In 1986, the legendary sports model was introduced to the market - Toyota Supra with a capacity of 201 hp. Unfortunately, the serial production of this sports car stopped back in 2002. The latest car model already had a power of 320 hp. This allowed the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 5 seconds.

Essence of the question: What better nissan Qashqai or Renault Duster?

I am facing the choice of a car - it is either Renault Duster almost in the maximum configuration with a 2.0-liter four-wheel drive engine, or Qashqai with a 1.6 engine on front-wheel drive. Who will advise what.

Nissan Qashqai or Renault Duster is a difficult question

Rear overhang Renault Duster (editorial car photo)

This is a difficult question, since cars, although they are off-road (crossovers), are designed to perform completely different functions. Duster is a budget crossover, into which they tried to stick both four-wheel drive and a powerful engine, but the interior is still prim, and Qashqai is already a higher class, but the engine is 1.6 and ONLY front-wheel drive lose to Duster in driving performance.

I own a Renault Megan 2 car, before that there were Citroens and Peugeots. I work in the service area dealership, so I know the device of the car "inside and out". You can always ask me for advice.

The Duster will be much better equipped, since the price of Kashkai will include the simplest configuration.

Quality and reliability

Salon Kashkai and Daster

If you look at the quality of performance and reliability, then Qashqai is slightly better. For example, ABS works much better in Qashqai. The salon in Qashqai is made much more "cool", these are the armrests and buttons on the steering wheel, of which the truth may not be in the cheapest configuration!

Duster and Kashkai passability

In terms of cross-country ability, Renault Duster wins only due to all-wheel drive, to be honest, both of these machines do not have special cross-country ability, but they were not created for this. If you need cross-country ability, then a Chevrolet Niva, or something frame, but you will not find a new frame at this price!

What will the "technical specialist" choose?

The following two tabs change content below.

Alexey "technical specialist"

I'm just sick with cars. I try to study in detail every car I owned. I like driving at night through the city streets. I try to carry out repairs in my cars with my own hands!

Both of these cars are urban crossovers that are similar in size and performance. The difference is the cost of the car. In some, the question may arise: "Is it worth overpaying?" To give an answer to it, it is necessary to dwell in more detail on the consideration of these cars.

Appearance

Duster looks like a real SUV. This is facilitated by large wheel arches, (you can) and other elements. You can also choose to buy a car with any configuration (several types of engines and gearboxes). In the maximum configuration, Renault will cost the same as Qashqai in the base.

Salon

Renault has a practical and comfortable lounge... Plastic doesn't look cheap. It is tough and fits perfectly. The chairs do not have lateral support, however, you can get comfortable on them. The downside is the ergonomics of the cabin. Some of the controls are not easy to find. It takes time to get used to them.

Qashqai is more profitable in this regard, although it also has its drawbacks. It will be difficult to fit comfortably in the driver's seat for those whose height exceeds 175 cm. Passengers will be more comfortable in Duster, since the distance between the front seats is 4 centimeters larger. Also, the rear in Renault can comfortably accommodate passengers.

Specifications

They are also better at Renault Duster. With a 1.6-horsepower engine, the car is throttle enough. For a city, such a motor is ideal, but on the highway it will be rather weak. It can work in tandem with both mechanics and a machine gun. enough for a quick overtaking. Soft suspension Duster gives him the opportunity to pass obstacles and bumps on the road without any problems.

Qashqai is tougher in this regard. But its handling during maneuvers and at high speed is also better.

Recently, the AvtoVzglyad portal published material about the most dangerous in the Russian market, based on data from recall campaigns carried out by manufacturers recently. Toyota representatives did not agree that their car was among the "winners" and sent to the editorial office an official refutation of journalistic "fabrications", which we present without cuts.

“On behalf of the company, we would like to point out the incorrect use of terms and misrepresentation of facts in relation to Toyota. First of all, we draw the attention of the author and readers to the fact that service campaigns are of a preventive nature. Toyota pays special attention to the quality of the vehicles it produces. After the sale, the company constantly evaluates how the cars behave during the period of operation. From time to time, there may be a possibility that certain components or characteristics of vehicles may not correspond to the established technical regulations... In such cases, Toyota openly announces a service campaign and diagnoses and repairs customers' cars free of charge.

Secondly, we would like to point out that on 6576 cars equipped with a 2.0 liter engine, there is a possibility that if the accelerator pedal is pressed and released at a certain frequency, the exhaust gas recirculation valve (EGR1) may not close. completely due to incorrect software of the engine control unit, as a result of which exhaust gases can constantly circulate in the EGR system, which can lead to unstable work the engine at idle speed and only in the extremely rare case to stop the engine while driving. Not a single case related to the above-described situation has been recorded in Russia. "

Well, we will not argue with the opinion of the specialists of the Japanese company, although we did not find any examples of “incorrect use of terms and distortion of facts in relation to service campaigns” in this text. Moreover, in principle, we agree that such promotions are used mostly as an informational occasion - so that the brand is not forgotten. However, in some cases, genuine concern for the client may well be the driving motive. By the way, the portal AvtoVzglyad also wrote about this.

However, referring to the legendary reliability of Toyota cars, let us doubt that it is head and shoulders above all other brands. To begin with, let's refer to the results of research carried out by an analytical agency. According to him, as of the beginning of 2016 in Russia, there were 40,850,000 passenger cars, of which cars of foreign brands occupied a little more than half, or rather 58%. At the same time, this year, our fellow citizens and guests of the country have acquired for their “ iron horses»With foreign pedigree components and for 834.2 billion rubles. The unconditional leadership in sales of spare parts for passenger cars belongs to Toyota, which accounted for one sixth of the total purchases. Toyota owners have spent 134.3 billion rubles on parts for their cars!

At first glance, it may seem that this is a verdict on the reliability of the products of the Japanese company. Moreover, it is final and not subject to appeal. However, her affairs are still not so bad. The fact is that 3,544,099 Toyota cars run across the expanses of our Motherland, which corresponds to 15% of all "foreign cars" that have taken root here. Spare parts for them were sold in the amount of 16.1% of the total number of sold parts for machines of foreign brands. And yet, a comparison of the last two values does not in any way confirm the surprising reliability of Toyota.

On the contrary, they are more reminiscent of the average temperature in a hospital, and with a bias towards a slightly more "lusciousness" than in the ordinary case. But let's not run ahead of the locomotive and see what other leaders of the Russian car fleet show us. Toyota is followed by another Japanese company in terms of the total number of cars sold -. It accounts for 8% of the market and 8.5% of the money spent on spare parts. The proportion is about the same, but slightly more in favor of Nissan. They are followed by the Korean one with indicators of 6.6% and 6.1%, respectively. Further - French (5.9% and 5.6%) and German (5.7 and 5.5).

I wonder if you noticed that both Japanese stamps require more costs from their owners than Korean and European? Of course, you can refer to the fact that Toyota's spare parts are more expensive, and the planned Maintenance the car has to be done more often than the rest. This is really so, and for greater objectivity, let's try to refer to a couple of reliability ratings. So, recently "AvtoVzglyad" cited the data of the American J.D. Power and Associates, which addresses the challenges car owners face in the first 90 days after purchase

An article about Toyota cars - how they compare favorably with other brands. Features of Japanese brand cars. At the end of the article - an interesting video about Toyota cars.

The content of the article:

The automobile giant Toyota is not only a Japanese economic miracle, not only a leading developer of high technologies, but a special world with its deep philosophy, a special approach to personnel and a thoughtful attitude to each of its creations. That is why their cars are so different from all other brands in the world.

1. Conservatism

The quality of Toyota cars, raised to the rank of "legendary", is largely due to a certain conservatism of Japanese engineers. This is odd to hear, given how cutting-edge research the company is. Nevertheless, it is the technical innovations that Toyota uses almost later than all other automakers. This was the case, for example, with an aluminum cylinder block, with which engineers around the world rushed everywhere to replace heavy cast iron ones. And Toyota specialists have previously weighed all the pros and cons:
  • the engine becomes 30 kg lighter;
  • in principle, the aluminum block does not reduce the total weight of the car;
  • certain operational nuances appear, such as a stronger overheating of the block compared to cast iron.
As a result, Toyota engineers learned how to produce and use such blocks, but were in no hurry to actively use them on their models.
A similar situation is with the vacuum sensor, which is responsible for the air flow in the motor control system. Unlike such widespread air flow sensors, they are almost anachronisms, but they almost never fail over the entire period of vehicle operation.

2. Suppliers

The incredible reliability of cars cannot be attributed solely to the skill of Japanese engineers. Models focused on the European market are not produced in the Middle Kingdom, but in other countries, including Russia. However, Toyota knows how to very competently select suppliers of those Supplies which it does not produce itself. For example, she buys all the electronic stuffing from Nippon Denso. Founded in 1949, this company has become a world leader in the production of electrical and electronics, air conditioners and radiators, space heaters and communications. At the moment, it has about 70 production facilities in 22 countries of the world, supplying assembly shops with the necessary components.

Innovative car candles With the world's thinnest 0.4 millimeter iridium electron, Nippon Denso provides such a power reserve that guarantees stable ignition in any of the most extreme conditions. And the U-shaped groove developed by Nippon Denso guarantees improved ignition and absolute combustion of fuel, significantly increasing the efficiency of the car.

Only the resistors found in Nippon Denso spark plugs not only reduce car radio interference, but also prevent them from affecting the navigator, fuel control systems and ABS.

All this together increases the overall reliability of Toyota vehicles, especially in comparison with Nissan, Mazda, Mitsubishi, which use spare parts of the same Mitsubishi and Hitachi.

The same can be said about the wonderful "unkillable" automatic boxes purchased from Aisin Warner. The two Japanese corporations have been cooperating for more than a decade, together relentlessly improving the quality of the cars produced. Aisin is a large mechanical engineering company that is a member of the "Big Three" global manufacturers. automatic transmissions... Its products have established themselves since the 80s, when the Japanese car industry poured into our country on a large scale. Moreover, those car owners who still drive the models purchased at that time assure that the gearbox is still functioning perfectly.

Of course, nothing is eternal, but in this case we are talking about the size of the repair. In the context of automatic transmissions on Toyota cars, simple, strong and durable, the scale of repair work is not comparable to the daunting replacement of electronic elements in others. car brands with more "fancy" boxes. The reason for this is simple - there is nothing to break in the simple design of Aisin transmissions. And those insignificant problems that sometimes arise are mostly associated with improper operation by the driver himself.

3. Assembly

Much of the reliability of cars is due to the correct assembly process. Each operation performed on the conveyor must be fully completed and at the same time completed with high quality. To control this action, the workshops are equipped with special devices that do not allow the assembly to continue if something is done incorrectly.

Thus, in Toyota production, such a situation cannot occur for the wrong part to go to the next section, and then it would be finalized. Employees immediately report any deviation from the norm to the management, even if it is a trifle in the form of an incompletely tightened bolt. The foreman tries to fix the problem without slowing down the conveyor, but if this fails, then the work stops to analyze the problem and its competent solution.

4. Quality control

The multi-stage external quality control system is even more complex and responsible than the assembly process. Each workshop independently checks the models for the so-called critical points. This is the compliance of the car with legal norms, verification threaded connections, safety, level of emissions into the atmosphere and other things. All hinged panels are checked for body geometry, and for every 20 car, the body is fully checked for more than 500 control points.

Also, at the end of the working day, each workshop is subject to an external inspection, which examines all changes, and especially deviations that occurred during the production process.

A final inspection expects each manufactured model before being sent to the warehouse. All cars are inspected for compliance appearance- build quality, paintwork- and on functional characteristics, such as camber / toe angles, engine operation, chassis and transmission, electronic assistants and other parameters.

5. Innovation

Toyota has once again received the title of one of the most innovative automotive corporations in the world. The company has always been focused on continuous self-improvement, therefore, more patents are issued annually for latest developments than all other automakers combined. With its own research and development center, Toyota continually equips its models with new systems that simplify the owner's control process. Moreover, the innovations introduced by it not only actively take root among motorists, but other manufacturers are also adopting them.

Among latest novelties the following are worth noting:

  • an adaptive lighting system that directs the beam of light depending on the steering wheel;
  • built-in air ionizer;
  • Safety Sense system, which includes a package of pre-crash safety components, warning of violation road markings, automatic switching on high beam for optimal visibility at night and turn it off when another appears on the horizon vehicle, a radar for detecting in dangerously close proximity to objects threatening a collision;
  • IDDS stability control has been supplemented with new functions, such as a decrease in engine speed in case of deviation, a decrease in the power of the steering amplifier, selective wheel braking, a redistribution of torque;
  • continuous improvement of the climate control system;
  • replacement of all optics with LED;
  • the introduction of "smart" panoramic cameras that collect data and transmit it to the central display so that the driver can better navigate traffic situation and predicted in advance the passage of difficult sections of the route;
  • improved cruise control, which maintains not only the set speed, but also the permissible distance to the vehicle in front.

6. Engines

It is not for nothing that there is an opinion among the people that the engines installed on any of Toyota models are the very best. They are really so unique in their kind that connoisseurs of high-quality units will prefer a budget engine from Toyota to a more expensive product from another manufacturer. Why are engines so popular?
  1. In all cars, the engine compartment is very rationally arranged. Therefore, even in the event of a need for repair, it is not necessary to disassemble many parts and assemblies in order to carry out diagnostics or minor repairs. All this significantly reduces the cost of technical inspection and renovation work Toyota cars.
  2. The company does not spare funds for the development of its motors, from which they differ in really excellent characteristics.
  3. Every detail, every part of the engine is selected so carefully to ensure the slowest possible wear, trouble-free operation and good maintainability.

7. Operation

If we compare Toyota cars with their "classmates" in terms of engine volume, cost of spare parts and other equal parameters, then they significantly benefit from the cost of maintenance. Some car owners may argue that the same German car industry needs repairs much less often. This is really so, but even the most insignificant action regarding the "German" will cost much more than the equivalent work with a Toyota car.

8. Focus on the future

Toyota was the first to understand the importance of hybrid vehicles and was the first to introduce its Toyota Prius... Twenty years have passed since then, and the company has already sold over 10 million hybrids. Despite the fact that almost the whole world was sure of the failure of the concept itself and did not believe in the success of the car delivered to the series, Toyota has always had the gift of foresight.

And even hybrid cars the Japanese manufacturer differ from similar models. Installed on them rechargeable batteries, also from Toyota, have an incredible lifespan, comparable to the lifespan of the car itself. The engineers ensure that the battery will have to be changed more often on a regular car than on a hybrid that has a special lithium-ion battery.

9. Cost

Toyota cars can rightfully be called popular. Manifold lineup allows each motorist to choose a vehicle to his taste and wallet. This is the fundamental difference between the brand, which immediately positioned itself as a democratic company in all respects. If we compare Toyota cars with direct competitors - "Germans", the latter initially could not boast of budget models, which themselves led to Japanese expansion.

10. Adaptation

Coming to Russian market and having familiarized themselves with our off-roading, Toyota tried to adapt its models to the existing conditions as much as possible. No sensitive suspension, no ceramic spraying on the cylinders and, most importantly, resistance to sudden changes in the climate.
