The version of the Lifan X60 cross, which is now being sold, is officially called the first generation of the car after the second restyling. It is worth remembering right away that it was due to this model that Lifan in Russia became the leader in sales among all Chinese manufacturers, beating more well-known competitors in the past. Externally, the car after the second restyling differs from its predecessor quite strongly. Inside, everywhere there is hard plastic, a different front panel and a new three-spoke steering wheel. The build quality and materials are quite decent, especially for the money and considering that this is China - i.e. not wah-wah-wah !, but there is nothing to complain about too much. Not like outside, where there are gaps, inconsistencies in parts, and so on in the same spirit, which are completely wild by modern standards.

In terms of equipment. What is? There are heated front seats, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera and navigation. There is a driver's seat height adjustment and light for the second row. And also a full-size spare tire. There is a make-up mirror only in the visor in front of the front passenger, but not in front of the driver. What's not there? There is no heated rear seats, no air ducts for second-row passengers, but in fact, there is still a lot of other things.

Wheelbase - 2 600 mm (unchanged). The tank and trunk also remained the same - 55 liters and 405 liters, respectively. The trunk is enlarged to a size of 1,794 liters. The ground clearance is 179 mm.

The maximum speed is 170 km / h. The acceleration time to hundreds, announced by the manufacturer, is 14.5 seconds. Yes, speed is clearly not the strongest strong point of this car. Maximum power of 128 hp. the car develops at 6,000 rpm, and the maximum torque of 162 Nm demonstrates at 4,200 rpm. Gasoline - 95th. Average fuel consumption is declared at 7.6 liters per hundred. Real expense amounted to: about 11-11.5 in the city, 10-10.5 in mixed mode and 8-9 on the highway, depending on the speed. By the way, we had to find out in a roundabout way - the on-board computer basically does not have such a menu item as fuel consumption - neither average, nor current, nor accumulated - there is none.

The turning radius is 10.8 meters (quite good).

The curb weight is 1,425 kg. Carrying capacity - only 300 kg.

How is it going? The dynamics, at least for the version with a variator, is not so hot. Even with the mechanics of the car, according to the passport, acceleration to a hundred takes 14.5 seconds, and when the variator is on, the manufacturer generally prefers not to give such numbers (apparently, so as not to disgrace). So our device picks up speed slowly, and if at least some semblance of dynamic acceleration is required, the motor has to be turned literally to a heart-rending squeal. At the same time, it is useless to press the trigger sharply - an interesting phenomenon is observed in the car, the more smoothly you press the gas, the faster it will accelerate.

Rigid suspension. On bad road and on a dirt road with pits, the car shakes thoroughly. And taking into account the assembly, one can understand why the car rattles and rattles terribly on almost any road. Not a pleasant feeling.

The Lifan X60 car of the first generation after the second restyling is now offered to a Russian potential buyer with one engine - a 1.8-liter gasoline engine with 128 hp. Front-wheel drive only. More substantial pleasures await in the cabin. A three-spoke steering wheel with a "remote" audio system and a pretty redrawn front panel are unlike anything that came before. Unless the air duct deflectors are vaguely reminiscent of Logan & Co. There is almost no soft plastic, except for door trim with leatherette inserts, spring-loaded with thin foam from the inside.


But even this design, materials and build quality are quite decent. Considering that the protruding center console was also refined by driving it into plastic frames for carbon, then such an interior looks by no means wretched, as it happened before. Attention to detail - something that has always been lacking in the Chinese auto industry - has fully appeared in the updated X60.

This is not so easy to do, despite the fact that the variator on the X60 is one of the few that does not howl in vain. But he understands only a very subtle attitude towards him. But the transmission settings are such that it does not seek to keep the car in good shape. Here is the Novorizhskaya highway, on the tachometer it is only 2,200 rpm, and on the speedometer - 110 km / h. High speed, by the way, is not very comfortable. The fact that the X60 is not a metropolitan is definitely. Too slow, and this one will immediately be jammed in a crazy stream.

You should not actively look for a "zero" in the steering wheel at speed - it is fraught. He is, and not even particularly blurry. Slightly left and right - the trajectory changes, and the body instantly responds with light gestures, especially if the rear sofa and trunk are not loaded. Yes, this is how the independent rear multi-link responds to maneuvers. But at the same time, the entire structure, including the MacPherson strut in front, is quite rigid.

If you sit down for wheel car, then, unfortunately, you feel that there is no proper lateral support, although the seat is quite comfortable, but it is not possible to sit comfortably in relation to the steering wheel. There is a good supply of seat adjustments to choose the fit you want, but the fact that there are no steering wheel adjustments makes the experience a little worse.

The interior leather trim is also not a trump card of this car. If you look at the car panel installed in front, you understand that you have already seen this somewhere - again Toyota Rav4. Although the Chinese again copied the interior of the famous crossover, it cannot be said that it is a complete carbon copy.

The designers still managed to show their imagination a little and add some of their own moments. That only is the front panel. Looking at the Lifan X60 photo, there is no ardent desire to tune your car, however, many motorists want to embellish their own a little vehicle, in order to distinguish it from the general flow of cars in the city. For example, you can install a body kit that includes bumper strips, rear crash bars, side sills and sill strips.

If you use visors, deflectors and spoilers, then you can slightly refresh and make your car individual by adding external tuning... Such accessories are installed quite easily, and this does not require special training, so this procedure can be performed at any service station or in your garage. In addition, some drivers tune the headlights to make the car look bright and stylish.

Chinese carmaker Lifan was among the very few peers to see sales growth in Russian market in 2016. The overwhelming majority of the Chinese went to the minus, and the brand with three sails on the emblem, on the contrary, to the plus. The locomotive is the X60 front-wheel drive crossover, which has been produced since 2011 and underwent a second update in 2016. It is now called X60 FL (face lift)

We all want the car to be as big as possible. We try to choose rich equipment, so that the maximum number of possible systems and devices is present, and the interior trim is at the highest level. But the price tag serves as an excellent cold shower, after which, as a rule, one wonders: is the whole list of "benefits of civilization" really necessary? Maybe you can live without something?

A sober prioritization begins - and it turns out that in fact we urgently need not so much. For me, so in the first three places should be located: a) the largest trunk; b) air conditioner; c) all-wheel drive system (preferably the simplest, part time). The absence of many "chips" is quite possible to sacrifice. And some can no longer be sacrificed, they have become the same integral norm as the high environmental class of the engine. Without ABS, complete set electric windows, outside mirrors with electric drives and heating, heating element rear window, folded in the ratio 60:40 of the rear "sofa" you will hardly be sold today. Exceptions are rare - and, yes, they are immediately excluded. Although ... personally, I would have had enough of the "oars" in the back, because there I usually travel with dogs, which in every sense do not need electric drives.

The last facelift

Most importantly, the ascetic set of subsistence "benefits" immediately turns out to be very attractive in terms of finances. The same Lifan X60, until the last update, was downright pleased: the crossover on large wheels, with significant ground clearance and a huge trunk was offered for a price slightly higher than that of budget sedans domestic production. "Chinese"? Well, yes, why not? Today, the "Chinese" have noticeably "matured", have gotten rid of many "childhood diseases" (and "national" ones too). Why not consider?

Moreover, there is something to consider. Although the outline of the X60 is still easily guessed the outline of the second generation Toyota RAV4, the copy has long been less deliberate. There is some peculiarity in the design, even some charm. And I would like to say only good things about the appearance of the FL version. The car received a beautiful front end, which was promised to us for a long time on the X80 model, but since it was delayed in entering the Russian open spaces, let it "play" on the 60 for now. With this design of the front end, the Chinese crossover definitely looks like an adult, more "muscular", even impudent. He no longer wants to be ashamed of the name Lifan. And why would? We tested the X50 mini crossover, as well as the updated Solano II sedan, and found many advantages in them. It was time for the company to think about improving the image of its "locomotive", although, by and large, if it needed updating, it was not, first of all, its appearance.

Here we note that the current facelift will be the last in the history of the X60. Next generation crossover given size will be built on a different platform and may even wear a different index. The model will say goodbye to the proportions of the RAV4. Although, I repeat, I personally do not see anything wrong with them. They are rejected today only because they are just "yesterday", but today the trend is novelty, freshness, youth. The body is beautiful or not beautiful, if only it does not resemble retro. The continuity of generations is sufficient only in the name of the model.

Indeed, what is so bad about the RAV4 Lifan? On the contrary, a lot of good things! For example, a great review. A-pillars are not thick, do not obstruct corners. The mirrors are simply huge, and you just don't see the need for such a function as electronic monitoring of "blind" zones. Moreover, electrically adjustable and heated mirrors are available. No folding mechanism? Well, let it be, it is quite possible to save on this.

With a good view through the glass of the fifth door (of course, with heating), you can easily do without a rear-view camera, but the updated X60 has one. Even if the picture is not particularly pleasing in quality, the lens gets very dirty when moving in slushy weather. By the way, not only the camera lens. The body of the "Lifanov" crossover is far from neat. Additional footpegs are very suitable for him, both in terms of design and in terms of protection paintwork on the lower edges of the doors, especially the rear. The owners of pre-styling cars complain that in these places the doors are overgrown with dirt, and since the sidewalls of the car have not changed during the update, this means that the problem will remain. There are few changes in the rear of the car, the lights have changed, but this does not affect the speed. The headlights are worth praising for the powerful light (without the participation of xenon) and the operational work of the automatic mode and the electric corrector.

You get comfortable behind the wheel, although the steering wheel lacks an adjustment of the departure a little. There are no complaints about the landing (that is, after a long journey you will not get tired of it), but there is a seat. There is no lateral support in the thigh area, and, perhaps, the designers tried to compensate for it with the "stickiness" of the pseudo-leather upholstery, but it only turned out worse. When you sit down, you already experience not the most pleasant sensations, but when you get out, you even more strongly feel that you are "stuck". And this is actually in winter weather, but what will be the hot summer? No, being an adherent of leather upholstery (at least "eco-leather"), in the case of "Lifan" I vote for the fabric.

central locking automatically locks the doors on the move, but does not unlock when stopping, you need to press the button. Moreover, twice, otherwise the passengers will not get out. If any of the doors are opened while the engine is running, the car will beep unpleasantly, even when stopped. Why not make this squeak appear only when you start driving with the door open?

The front is spacious, with a monolithic armrest box installed between the seats. Behind - even more spacious, when landing "behind me" the passenger will have 38 centimeters of space for the knees! This is one of the record figures. The width of the cabin is 138 cm at the front, 136 cm at the rear. The armrest leans back from the back of the rear sofa, however, it cannot be called monolithic, even with a slight pressure from top to bottom, it bends.

With absence on-board computer You can roughly determine the fuel consumption as follows: one extinguished strip corresponds to about one hundred twenty - one hundred and forty kilometers. That is, on a full tank (95th gasoline), you can overcome about 600-700 kilometers. But this is on the highway, where the average consumption is about 8-9 liters per hundred. The city will have to "give" at least 11-12 liters.

Backrest tilt rear seat can be adjusted, without exaggeration, within 180 degrees! It is absolutely incomprehensible why so many fixed provisions were invented. Who would dream of tilting the back, for example, 45 degrees forward? Nevertheless, such a mechanism exists, and one will inevitably have to pay for it.

For the transformation of the rear of the cabin, one could put a fat plus. Because in comparison, for example, with similar in price, functionality and origin from the RAV4 Chinese crossover Chery Tiggo FL, "Lifan" offers an almost perfect folding of the back sofa (and Tiggo is so simply ugly). Yes, in the X60 we get a flat floor, and on it, if you wish, you can even sleep, with my height of 182 cm, I almost stretched out diagonally. Of course, the seat frame will remind of itself with metal rigidity, but it is not difficult to cover it. Much more difficult ... actually, folding the seats. Because before folding the backrest, you literally RIP the pillow off the floor! It is possible with great difficulty, you even begin to doubt whether you are doing everything right. But otherwise it is impossible, the back does not rest on the pillow, but freezes at an absurd angle. When the pillow pieces finally REMOVE, there is a sound like something has broken. No, nothing, just such a retainer ...

It is also not thought out that when the left side of the pillow is folded, its edge, close to the middle of the car, rests against a small tunnel protrusion on the floor, and the left side turns out to be higher than the right one, which looks sloppy. But the parts of the back, one way or another, fit, and, in general, the mechanism for transforming the cabin can be considered theoretically successful - but not practically.

A spare wheel is located under the raised floor, which was full-size for the pre-styling version (215 / 65R16). The X60 FL got 17-inch wheels, and the reserve automatically turned into a stowaway. It is worth putting a plus "Lifan" and for a large amount of space actually in the recess of the spare wheel and around it. Part of the space here is occupied by foam inserts, but I think the handy owner will quickly and easily get rid of them, making room for various tools and accessories.

In general, as far as I know, buyers often modify the X60, for example, in terms of additional noise and vibration isolation. It is not that expensive and requires a relatively small amount of time (can be done in a couple of weekends). Is it worth doing this? Perhaps, yes, because when you open the technological plugs in the sidewalls of the trunk, you find that not all the metal of the body is noise and vibration insulated, and in those places where this is done, the glued "mats" sometimes come off.

"We make noise, brother, we make noise ..."

And on the move there is a noise in the cabin, and considerable. The doors of the X60 are not so "thick", if you look closely, their internal panels do not completely hide the metal. And the glazing area of ​​the "Toyota" body is very large, you sit like in an aquarium. Apparently, this scares modern advanced buyers, give them a sense of security with a large amount of "iron" (and, as a rule, just one feeling is enough, and not the security itself). One way or another, all possible noises, both road traffic and those produced by the car itself, penetrate into the X60's interior. Additional "noise" will be very appropriate.

First, the engine reminds of itself. The unit under the hood is the same and the only one; it has not undergone any changes during restyling. This is a 1.8-liter 128-horsepower gasoline engine with a 16-valve block head and a dual variable valve timing system. It is well designed, the recoil is observed in a wide rpm range, the car is not extinguished either in urban "spurts" or when overtaking on the highway. But, alas, "we are making noise, brother, we are making noise" ...

The variator is also well heard. Moreover, it manifests itself not as a characteristic "howl", but as a set of various sounds. At the beginning of movement on the body for some reason, a wave of small tremors passes. In the future, when gaining speed, this is not observed. Mystery.

The car responds to control actions by the steering wheel with a slight delay, but if it does, it rushes into a turn willingly, with a noticeable roll. Although the suspension is stiff, it is felt both on minor irregularities and on speed bumps. When shaking the body, tapping is heard under the interior trim panels. These panels are not docked carefully everywhere, both gaps and irregularities are visible. But there are fewer of them than you would expect from the Chinese model.

The recoil of the motor, in general, pleases, it is especially effective when spinning up to 4000 rpm, then the thrust decreases. It is interesting that no matter how much you push the gas pedal in automatic modes, the tachometer needle will not rise above the "5000" mark, although the red zone starts at 6500 rpm. Acceleration from 60 to 80 km / h in absolute terms is not so high-spirited - not less than 4 s. But, in principle, this is enough for the city.

And what is missing is at least a primitive on-board computer. There is none here. The tachometer scale frames a circular digital speedometer barely larger than wrist watch... At the bottom of this dial are only the odometer readings. The scales of the coolant temperature and fuel level indicator are made in the form of columns of white luminous indicators. The updated X60 can be equipped with a rich multimedia system with music, navigation and some other functions. The 8-inch touch screen offers a very high-quality picture and quick response to touch. If there is no response, then the function is not available. In the test car, for example, the navigation system did not work (no memory card was inserted). The audio player connected via the AUX input was recognized instantly, but the "combine" flash drive did not immediately see it. Subsequently, it turned out that there were simply no audio tracks on the media. The next flash drive was played for some reason only until the middle, then suddenly hung up. When the system was restarted, everything turned out to be in order.

But in fact, the sound quality of the Lifan acoustics will not please you. In the city the sound is still here and there, but on the highway it ... disappears. The fact is that when you dial 120 km / h or more, the car makes too much noise and whistles, and it seems that it is at those frequencies that are present in music. In other words, making it louder is practically useless. However, having delved into the settings of the "combine", we managed to find out that most of the compositions of different styles are played most successfully when the JAZZ position is selected. The system communicates with an Android smartphone, receives calls, and the buttons on the steering wheel work.

Noise and whistle at high speeds is not surprising. If you look closely at the generally pretty body, you can easily find huge and not everywhere the same gaps between the panels. They are especially large in the docking area. rear doors and the sidewalls of the body, as well as between the hood and the headlights. Although, opening the hood, you notice with surprise that the engine compartment is relatively clean.

In the general background noise, the sound from winter studded Yokohama tire... On the pavement, they sound like four huge cutters. Unfortunately, you cannot reproach them for giving the car high directional stability: Lifan floats on the track, both in asphalt ruts, and in their absence. You will not be distracted from the road, and you need to hold on tightly to the steering wheel.

The symbols on the buttons for the climate system are very small. The "stove" heats only when the temperature regulator is in the two extreme right positions, that is, at the maximum. On sunny days, the large area of ​​the glazing of the cabin allows you to receive a lot of the radiant energy of our luminary, even if the temperature outside is about zero degrees. The heating elements for the exterior mirrors and tailgate glass work very quickly. Heated driver's seat also pleased with efficiency.

When overtaking on the track, the Lifan X60 seems to be throttle, but you start counting the seconds and it becomes sad. In CVT mode D, it “accelerates” from 80 to 120 km / h in 13-14 s. Moving the selector away from you, to the S position, improves acceleration by 1-2 s, no more. At a speed of 110-115 km / h and the selected CVT mode D, the engine maintains 2300-2500 rpm, in S mode - 3500 rpm.

The updated Lifan X60 is offered on the Russian market in eight trim levels at prices from 679,000 rubles to 859,000 rubles for versions with a five-speed manual transmission and from 859,900 rubles to 919,900 rubles for modifications with a variator. This is the cost of 2017 cars. There are also "facelift" cars of 2016 on sale, they are, on average, 20,000 rubles cheaper, but the choice of trim levels is half that. Pre-styling cars are another 20,000 rubles cheaper with comparable sets of options, but finding them in dealers' warehouses is becoming more and more difficult.

In the 4th virtual gear, the car accelerates at about the same rate as in S mode. But in fact, the "manual" function works in a strange way. On the track - still all right, I checked: manual selection, for example, fifth gear was supported by the car until I canceled it. A different situation arose off-road. With sand and mud ruts, powerful Winter tires coped easily, but in the 25-30-cm layer of wet snow, the crossover went on strike. In D mode, acceleration was needed to break through the virgin land. I tried to manually select one of the lower gears - and was surprised to find that during the movement, the variator spontaneously switches to mode S, then even to D, although the selector remains stationary. How is this possible? Maybe I myself discreetly move the selector back and forth? He really moves easily and, as it were, does not “fix” in the front or rear position, you don’t feel that he has chosen any position and is frozen in it. And yet I cannot deny the independent switching of the box. Long or short, but she sometimes lived her life.

Four wheel drive The X60 does not spoil us in any of the trim levels. But the front-wheel drive design behaves well off the road. First, the car offers considerable ground clearance- 179 mm. This is according to the passport, but in reality, for example, under the front bumper, I measured as much as 32 cm. True, the plastic element has a slightly protruding "lip", it was not there before, and the front overhang was probably shorter, but now the risk of damaging the bumper has increased about a high obstacle. Behind, under the bumper, the tape measure showed 38 cm, under the transverse muffler - 27 cm.

The Lifan also has one more advantage: it is the winter mode of the variator. On many, many models with automatic transmissions this feature is also offered, but it works much more noticeably on the X60. When you turn it on, the car is really capable of moving away much more slowly, just crawling, which will greatly help on slippery surfaces. However, in deep snow this mode did not justify itself, it did not cope with the role of a downshift. As with the choice of mode D, the virgin snow was overcome only by the method of a cavalry charge.

Chinese tea"

So, in the conditions of the "living wage" I spent a week. My verdict: you can survive, but you will not get pleasure. Of the missing functions of the car, I, frankly, regretted only the absence of an on-board computer. Everything else would be enough for me personally, if only the thoughtfulness of the decisions was not leveled, at times, by the low quality of execution. Most of all, the interior transformation mechanism was upset. Now the seats need to be folded almost with the help of a mounting paddle, but will this not lead to breakdowns? Moreover, the pillows, and the backs, and the elements of their fastening do not differ in their heroic build.

The plastic of the trim is tough and scratches easily. Traces of loading bulky items are already visible on the plastic boot sill. But after all, it is plastic, which means that it is easily replaceable. Widespread models such as Renault Duster, Sandero and LADA XRay in this place there is only bare, unprotected metal of the body. How many times will it take to be repainted?

Generally comfortable salon "Lifan" pleased with the almost complete absence of Chinese phenolic "ambergris", but upset with low-grade pseudo-leather upholstery of seats, as well as poor sound insulation. Oh, it's not for nothing that people are busy with additional gluing of the internal surfaces of the body! What else do the owners of this car dislike? First of all, the low resistance of the body paintwork to damage. Heavy dirt on the doors, especially the rear ones, in the absence of additional steps. Well, and also the general instability of the quality of components and assembly, unexpected, often completely ridiculous failures of various systems, as they say, out of the blue. How would you like, for example, unreasonable clicking of the central locking system at high speed? And the reflective element of the outside mirror that cracked without any impact?

To the credit of the company, it demonstrates that it values ​​its name. Warranty obligations are fulfilled, there are no big problems with service and availability of spare parts. In general ... well, what did you want from "unemployment benefits"? To get as much as possible more car for the money invested, you need to invest as much money as possible. As in the well-known anecdote: more tea leaves - tastier tea.
