Almost all Passat CCs are front-wheel drive, an exception is made only for the top version with a 3.6 VR6 engine. Actually, this is a bit strange considering the positioning of the model, but in practice front wheel drive enough. At least there is no snow and mud yet, and the asphalt is dry.

There are no serious problems with the mechanical part of the transmissions of front-wheel drive cars at all. If the SHRUS covers are intact, then everything works fine up to runs far beyond two hundred thousand kilometers.

Of course, there is more trouble with four-wheel drive cars. Cardan shaft after a hundred or one and a half thousand mileage, it requires repair or maintenance, and the oil in the angular transmission, as in rear axle, it is necessary to change every 50 thousand. In the Haldex coupling it is better to do this every 30 thousand, especially if the car drives in winter.

The six-speed manual transmission is familiar to all Volkswagen car owners. With engines up to 1.8 liters, the MQ250 was installed, with two-liter engines and diesels - the MQ350. There are weak points in the manual gearbox, but they appear either during tuning, or with high mileage.

Volkswagen CC "2012–17

The younger series of boxes has a weak grip. Even with the standard 250 Nm of torque, it serves less than a hundred thousand and does not differ in ease of use. Moreover, a dual-mass flywheel with a resource of 120-150 thousand is not cheap.

In the older box, the grip is noticeably more serious, but the flywheel does not last much longer. Clutch flywheel kits from VR6 can be ordered here. However, this is only necessary for those who tune motors.

Weakness any box has differentials. Shock loads and prolonged slippage easily kill the satellite axle. It can help here frequent replacement oil, and if you like to drive, then at least you will have to change the axle to a tuning one with an oil channel. Well, or change the differential to a reinforced one.

There are three series of automatic transmissions on the SS. Basically - the well-known DSG DQ200 gearboxes with a dry clutch and DSG DQ250 with an oil bath clutch. And much less common is the classic automatic transmission Aisin TF60SC / TF61SC, aka 09G, aka AQ250 or AQ450, depending on the version and designation system.

The Aisin assault rifle can be found with 1.8 TSI engines on first-year cars or on American cars (mainly with a VR6 3.6 engine). We have published about this automatic transmission, but we will briefly repeat what was said: the mechanical part of the gearbox is quite reliable, but the valve body is heavily worn out by dirty oil and is difficult to repair. The linings of the gas turbine engine of a classic design are quickly erased during active movement: they are not designed for regular "floating" blocking.

With a timely oil change, a calm driving style, a reduction in oil change intervals to 40 thousand and refinement with the installation of an external fine oil filter, the box proves to be very reliable. But few people bother with this, so on average, after 100-120 thousand kilometers without changing the oil, the first problems begin: jolts, shocks when switching, rough work and loss of dynamics.

Small repairs usually don't help much. It will not be possible to simply replace the solenoids, and there are no original ones on sale either. Replacing the valve body assembly is an expensive pleasure, and repairing with Sonnax kits with the installation of new plungers and solenoid bodies and the solenoids themselves requires a good work culture and understanding of the processes. Often, under the guise of expensive repairs, a banal flushing of the valve body is served with the replacement of the most worn out solenoids and adaptation, which is not enough for a long time. Well, a typical feature of the "wiring" of the service is an attempt to persuade to replace "everything". Usually, in fact, not even all the rejected components are changed, and a very significant difference goes into the pocket of "service".

The box is quite well diagnosed by the scanner, and when buying, you should definitely check the operation of the box after it has completely warmed up.

With engines 1.4 TSI and 1.8 TSI installed seven-speed "robot" DQ200. His fame is the darkest, but the copies that have come down to our times have long been repaired, modernized or completely replaced. So everything is not so scary, just avoid cars of the first years with very low mileage. There is some chance to buy a car with a problem version of both the box and the motor.

Until 2012, the DQ200 on cars before restyling had problems with both the mechatronics and the mechanics of the gearbox itself. She often collapsed the bearings of the shift forks, the forks themselves broke, the clutch overheated. After changing the generation of the box, the number of problems began to subside: on the new generation, the mechanical part, forks, changed the clutches, changed the mechatronics and control software. As a result, the box has become a little less dynamic, but much more reliable. From the previous generation, only a weak differential and an unpredictable resource of clutches and a dual-mass flywheel remained, which greatly depends on the human factor, pollution and load.

And still, even on a late box, bearings and forks can occasionally fail. However, you can learn more about this. I think you should not be afraid of such a box with a thorough check. They are not nearly as expensive to repair as they were five or seven years ago, the main problems have been identified, and spare parts are available.

DQ250 series six-speed DSG gearboxes, which were installed on diesel motors and older gasoline, somewhat more reliable initially. The clutches here are in an oil bath and are made in the form of a package of large clutches, the gearbox oil pump is mechanical, and therefore there are no problems at all. The service life of the clutches is more stable, due to pressure leaks and pump wedges, the mechatronics wiring does not burn. Well, now about the sad things.

When the clutches are operating, the oil in the DQ250 becomes heavily contaminated. It contains a lot of magnetic wear products, which harms not only the gearbox mechanics, but also the solenoids. And the regular external filter of the automatic transmission solves the problem only partially.

With a motor torque above 350 Nm, the gearbox bearings and the differential fall into the risk zone. "Killed" dual-mass flywheels severely damage the mechanical part of the gearbox and lead to oil leakage and serious damage.

The relatively low price of this automatic transmission leads to the fact that it is used to replace the somewhat more capricious seven-speed DQ200 in the event of a global breakdown of the latter. But the DQ250 itself on well-tuned engines is replaced with an older version of the DQ500 - a seven-speed gearbox with wet clutches, even stronger and more resourceful.

Motors

All CC gasoline engines rely on fairly reliable and problem-free control and cooling systems. Even on ten-year-old cars, all components can be "native". Of course, when tuning, some try to replace the ignition coils with "reinforced" red ones from the Audi R / RS, and you need to keep an eye on the contamination of the radiators and the serviceability of all additional electric pumps in both directions. But with stock or almost stock motors, all this works quite reliably.

The most popular Passat SS motors are the 1.8- and 2.0-liter EA888 series engines. Usually - the first and second generations of the series in relatively simple versions.

Until the latest updates piston group in 2013, all EA888 engines are prone to a high oil appetite, and the timing remains quite problematic even on more "fresh" versions.

The direct injection system cannot be called problem-free either, and the repair cost of this injection is much higher than that of a conventional distributed one.

Unfortunately, among the owners there is an opinion that a supercharged engine should eat oil. Many people delay in correcting problems with appetite up to a liter per thousand kilometers, although the indication for decoking or bulkheading is an appetite from a liter per ten thousand kilometers. De-carbonization with the now fashionable Dimexide is complicated by the fact that the oil pan is painted here and clogs the oil receiver with paint, and the plastic in the timing belt and the pressure sensor cannot tolerate Dimexide.

Standard repairs with replacing the piston group with a modernized one and replacing the timing belt usually costs up to 150 thousand rubles.

In general, buying a car with these motors is a lottery. Everything needs to be checked: engine oiliness, crankcase ventilation system, turbine condition, oil carbon deposits on the pistons, the presence of a "fur coat" on the intake valves and oil appetite in general. In general, this requires a person who knows specific motors well. It is also advisable to know exactly which version of the motor is worth, with which piston group, with which oil pump, which timing support and chains.

The 1.4 TSI engines on the Passat CC are represented by a late version of the EA111 engines, and we did not sell cars with EA211. And it's a pity, because potentially the second generation of 1.4 TSI engines is the most reliable. But the first turned out.

The Volkswagen Passat is one of the iconic models ever produced on German soil. Just think, but for about 45 years this car in various variations has been rolling off the conveyor belts of the auto concern. Over the entire period of its existence, it has been released eight main generations of the model and a considerable number of their modifications. Perhaps one of the most successful "Passats" is a sixth-generation variation called the Comfort-Coupe or CC. In today's material, our resource will pay attention to the engines of this model, having examined them from all sorts of angles.

A few words about PV-Passat SS

Before looking at the motor line of the model, let's turn our attention to the concept and history of creation. So, the Volkswagen Passat SS is a 4-door sedan-coupe, designed on the basis of the B6 generation of "Passat" (sixth in a row). Produced this model for 8 years - from 2008 to 2016, at a plant in the German city of Emden.

SS was created with one goal in mind - to give people the opportunity to acquire a middle class Passat, which would be more comfortable than standard of this lineup, but slightly worse than the representative Phaeton. As a result, the engineers of the German automaker were able to design a car that is fully consistent with the middle class. In particular, the Passat SS was distinguished in part by a sporty "silhouette" and a good technical equipment.

During its production, the model managed to spread to many car markets of the world: from the USA, Russia and Europe to South America. Since 2012, the Volkswagen Passat SS has undergone restyling, while retaining its trademark and beloved by many "stuffing". Having outlived the allotted time, this representative of the lineup ceased to be produced from the conveyors, which marked his departure into the shadows.

Interesting! Despite the cessation of production, the car is still very popular among fans of the German car industry.

Motor line

Note that the Volkswagen Passat SS engines are presented in a mediocre range. The choice of a potential buyer of this model is offered for someone as a whole, but for someone there are only four engine variations. Three of them are represented by gasoline units of a new generation and one by a solid diesel engine. In the following table, you can take a closer look at the Passat SS motor line:

Important! All engines, which were equipped with cars of the Volkswagen Passat SS model, are high-quality units made using the latest technologies... Separately, we note the presence of turbocharging in all variations of installations (with the exception of the 3.6-liter engine).

Operational characteristics of the units

The power units of the Passat SS are quite solid, well-made "hard workers". Judging by the reviews of the owners, the engines of this model range are not so whimsical in operation and work for a very long time without any problems. When it comes to repairs, it is usually insignificant and not as expensive as it is with a car of this class.

Considering the motors in terms of functionality, we note that they fully correspond to the information noted in the table. Engines of the Volkswagen Passat SS are quite frisky on the road, which simply cannot but rejoice. In addition, the consumption of motors is not so great, even if it differs by a couple of liters from the indicators declared by the manufacturer.

In general, the Passat SS engines can be characterized on the positive side. The motors of this model range are striking representatives of German quality and functionality, although they cannot be noted for something phenomenal. We hope the information presented today was useful to you. Good luck on the road!

Video review of the Volkswagen Passat SS:

Passat CC was released in 2008, made entirely on the B6 Passat platform. There is practically no technical difference between these cars, only external differences. Today I will try to tell you how to choose a good and reliable Passat CC.

4 engines and gearboxes that can be taken on this car.

1.Can take diesel version, CBAB engine, practically no problem, very good engine, if you fill the correct diesel fuel. It is also necessary to maintain it correctly, that is, during the oil change. The main thing is to have as little sulfur as possible in diesel fuel. Refuel at top gas stations and there will be no problems. It can be taken both on mechanics and on DSG dq250.

2. The option that you can take is VR 3.6 version and this is a very rare car, but you can safely take it, there are also no problems there.

3. Two-liter cczb motor on DSG dq250. There is another Passat CC about which few people know. Passat CC version on the machine, the same two-liter motor, but at the same time with an automatic transmission, which was installed on the B6 Passat, but I have never met these cars in my life. Most likely, they did not initially go to America, and therefore in Russia I simply did not run into them. In my opinion, it is stupid to carry the Passat CC from America, although many do.

BZB is probably the most reliable motor, which was put on the car, it really has a rather large resource and cannot stand the brains of the owners. There is such a motor called CGYA, this is a motor that has received all the advantages and all the advantages of the CDAB motor, in addition to the piston group, there is also an electronic oil system pressure regulator, and this is the motor that received new buns, but at the same time the reliability of the cylinder-piston group remained old, therefore if you buy a Passat CC with a 1.8 engine, then firstly we take the mechanics in order not to get on the q200, and secondly, look for the motor to be CJYA, you will not have any problems with it.

In no case should you take:

The CDAB motor which is known no less than the DSG dq200 for its unreliability, namely the oil burner.

In general, Passat CC does not like winter very much and this is due not only to frameless glasses, but also to the mechanism for opening the gas tank. There is an electric drive for the gas tank flap, on the door there is a button for opening the gas tank. There is a regular servo drive and a regular traction. In winter, when the door freezes, the traction just flies off, you can hear the servo drive. In an amicable way, they need to be changed, but since this is a rather expensive event, it is better to make an ordinary plastic tie. Squeeze it with a clamp and it will stop flying off.

The Volkswagen Passat SS is built on the basis of the VW Passat B6 and has been assembled in the German city of Emden since 2008. Until August 2010, part of the Passat CC for Russian market was going to Kaluga. The CC prefix stands for Comfort Coupe. External appearance Passat CC is unlikely to leave anyone indifferent, it is so harmonious and unrepeatable. CC looks much more expensive than it actually costs. In 2011, a new version of the Passat SS was released, which, in fact, was a restyling, in order to bring appearance to the general corporate style.

And what about his reliability? Having received a common platform and technical stuffing from the Passat B6, the SS acquired the same problems. But first things first.

Engines

Volkswagen Passat SS received a wide range of power units: 4-cylinder petrol turbo engines 1.8 TSI (152 hp) and 2.0 TSI (200 hp and 210 hp after restyling), atmospheric V- shaped gasoline "six" with a working volume of 3.6 liters (300 hp) and a 4-cylinder turbo diesel 2.0 TDI (140 hp and 170 hp after restyling).

The most common 1.8 TSI engine is generally reliable. The turbocharger is durable and has a good resource reserve. But increased consumption oil (up to 1 liter per 2-3 thousand km) is a common "disease" that affects up to 60% of cars after 50-80 thousand km. All models of the concern with this engine, incl. and Skoda. Volkswagen recently released a repair kit that includes redesigned pistons and rings. In the case of owners with a complaint about increased oil consumption, dealers make a control measurement of oil consumption. Upon confirmation of the "illness", the official services replace the piston: during the warranty period - free of charge, if the warranty is over, then only at the expense of the owner. On cars that came off the assembly line after restyling, and underwent "overhaul", the problem of "maslozhor" arises less often.

Another nuisance that can take you by surprise and force you to fork out seriously is jumping the timing chain with a run of more than 70-100 thousand km. The culprit is the chain breaker. After April 2011, the damper was refined and the problem did not recur.

VW Passat CC USA (2008 - 2011)

2.0 TSI is structurally similar to the younger 1.8 TSI, but it is considered more reliable. He is devoid of the ailments described above. The 3.6 FSI was also not seen in the list of possible problems.

On diesel 2.0 TDI 140 hp with a run of more than 50-100 thousand km, the flywheel can rattle. In an unofficial service, you will have to pay about 25 thousand rubles for a new flywheel and about 8 thousand more rubles for work. At dealerships, replacing the flywheel will cost significantly more.

Many owners say relatively loud work fuel pump. Some people manage to replace the "humming" pump under warranty, after which the long-awaited silence ensues. Also, sometimes problems appear in the cooling system associated with leaking pump, pipes or radiator.

Transmission

Everything power units, with the exception of V6 3.6, can be combined with a 6-speed mechanical box gear. The mechanics are generally reliable. Some owners note the lack of clarity in the inclusion of gears due to the excessively long travel of the clutch pedal, grasping at the very bottom. There are cases of bearing noise input shaft boxes.

VW Passat CC R-Line (2008 - 2011)

The most widespread and the number of complaints was received by the preselective automatic transmission DSG transmission 7 with double dry clutch, matched exclusively to the 1.8 TSI engine. Claims, as a rule, appeared with a mileage of more than 20-40 thousand km due to jerking in traffic jams when switching from first to second and vice versa, vibrations at the start and during acceleration in 2nd gear. Dealers changed the clutch, but this did not guarantee a complete elimination of the problem. The vibrations could soon reappear. Then it was the turn of replacing mechatronics with a mileage of more than 50-90 thousand km. In rare cases, services resorted to replacing the box. For comparison: cost new box about 300 thousand rubles, mechatronics - about 90 thousand rubles, clutches - about 20 thousand rubles, and replacement work - 10-15 thousand rubles. More often, problems manifested themselves on the Volkswagen Passat SS, operated mainly in urban traffic jams. It is generally accepted that transferring the box to the "manual" or "sport" mode when it gets into a lingering plug allows you to avoid possible malfunctions... It is gratifying that the problem is not widespread and has affected no more than a third of the cars. Meanwhile, Volkswagen continued to search for ways to treat the disease: released new version ECU firmware of the box and upgraded the clutch and the box itself. But the "antidote" has not yet been found. Having made concessions, in front of the pressure of numerous complaints, the manufacturer extended the deadline warranty service DSG 7 to 5 years or 150 thousand km.

The robotic DSG 6 with a wet clutch was paired to a diesel, V6 3.6L, and after mid-2010 to a 2.0 TSI. This transmission is considered more reliable, but cases of the need to replace the clutch are recorded here.

The classic Aisin 6-speed automatic transmission was used only with the petrol 2.0-liter TSI until mid-2010. The weak point of the box is the block of hydraulic valves, which became the reason for the appearance of shocks when shifting gears with a mileage of more than 70-120 thousand km. The cost of a new unit is about 50-60 thousand rubles, repairs - about 20-25 thousand rubles.

All-wheel drive versions Volkswagen passat CCs are equipped with a Haldex coupling. There were no problems with it.

VW Passat CC (2011 - present)

Undercarriage

The Passat SS suspension is comparatively strong. With the onset of frost, many note the appearance of squeaks and knocks in the suspension when driving through irregularities. On cars assembled in 2011, the support bearings of the front struts often begin to crackle with a mileage of more than 10-20 thousand km. Brake calipers are often the source of rear knocks.

Body and interior

Quality claims paintwork usually does not occur. In rare cases, over time, scuffs may appear inside the doorways at the point of contact with the seals. Plastic overlay at the bottom rear window over the trunk lid sometimes bursts. The chrome on the outer decorative inserts gradually grows cloudy. If earlier dealers, when complaints were received, replaced the darkened element, now such cases are not covered by the warranty until the chrome began to swell (a great rarity). Loss of plug is often detected rear bumper(400-800 rubles from dealers). Many people note fogging headlights and the appearance of insects in the front and rear optics (cases are not guaranteed).

In winter, the fuel filler flap often freezes. You can open it after warming up the car in a heated parking lot. And as a prevention of freezing, it is necessary to treat the lock with a special moisture-repellent lubricant. Another winter problem is the freezing of the windows, which is why they do not lower and the doors do not open. Some owners inadvertently pull the door and turn the seal inside out. To eliminate problems after washing in cold weather, it is necessary to thoroughly blow the seals with compressed air and treat them with a special compound. The manufacturer does not recommend the use of silicone-based lubricants for this. With the arrival of winter, delays appear in the folding / unfolding electric drive of the mirrors - the response time reaches 10-20 seconds !!! There are cases of burnout of the heating element for heating the frontal stele (warranty case).

With the arrival of cold weather, the plastic of the interior can creak until the interior warms up. The creaking panorama also contributes to the frost. Knocks and creaks when driving through irregularities can be caused by loose door locks, usually the front ones. To eliminate the need to adjust the lock. There is also a less costly "collective farm" method - wrapping the lock staples with electrical tape. Metal squeaks or clicks in the heat in the area of the rear parcel shelf are caused by the movement of metal body panels at the welded seams. The solution to the problem by the manufacturer comes down to mechanical stress on free panels in order to unload. Simply put, use a screwdriver to increase the gap between the body elements in the area of the rear parcel shelf and lubricate their contact points with each other.

VW Passat CC (2008 - 2011)

It is not uncommon for condensation to accumulate in the boot lid and in the space between the roof and the headliner. There are leaks through the windshield seal.

Some owners complain about the appearance of scuffs on the lateral support of a driver's seat with leather upholstery with a mileage of more than 20-40 thousand km. There are also complaints from owners with fabric seats.

Other problems and malfunctions

"Volkswagen" winter squeak of the heater fan is found on the Volkswagen Passat SS.

Volkswagen's electrician can traditionally "make itself known". For example, spontaneous door opening, opening one of the side windows, moving an electric seat during a trip. In winter - image distortion by the rear view camera. It reassures me that such cases are not constant and are of a “point” nature. Those. having manifested itself once, it is unlikely that they will soon be repeated again.

If the emblem covering the rear view camera does not open, there is no image from the camera, the trunk lid opens or does not close spontaneously, the lights do not turn on reverse or trunk lighting, which means that the harness connecting the electric consumers of the trunk lid to the body has been frayed. The cost of a new harness is about 1.5-2 thousand rubles. There are also problems with the glass closer control unit.

Conclusion

Statistics show that in fact, no more than 30-40% of owners face serious problems, such as a DSG box. The figure is certainly high, but far from transcendental. "Maslozhor" in most cases is "not fatal", and cases of chain hopping are rare. The rest of the faults are even less common. Do not be afraid of the Volkswagen Passat CC. The car will give you a lot of pleasant impressions. In addition, Volkswagen strives to eliminate all design errors in a timely manner. But unscrupulous dealers often slow down good intentions themselves, refusing warranty repairs, and further undermining the reputation of the automaker.

Volkswagen cars continue to be in serious demand in Russia. How on secondary market, and on a new one, these cars are respected and many potential owners are trying to buy. Of course, today this is far from the Volkswagen that was a dozen years ago, but still the machine may well meet the expectations of buyers. If you are looking to purchase a VW Passat CC, you will have to look exclusively at the aftermarket, since in 2015 production this car has been discontinued. It was in this year that the last anniversary version of Dynamic Black was released and this was the end of the story of the most interesting model. But today we will talk about the version before restyling, which was produced from 2008 to 2012. VW itself calls all the Passats in the CC version the one generation, but fans of this technique still distinguish two versions. Until 2012, the first generation was produced, which today has a more attractive price tag on the secondary market.

The car received a rather interesting design and was very different from the usual Passat type. Then the 6th generation Passat was in use, and its design was practically not taken as the basis of the car. By and large, the car could have received a completely different name, but marketers decided to take advantage of the popularity of the company's large sedan to promote new model it was easier. And the corporation was not mistaken in this. Until today, every motorist knows that there is such a special version of the Passat that you really want to buy. Today we will discuss the pros and cons of the car, its cost and capabilities, and also give certain recommendations for purchasing. We will also look at potential competitors for this car and compare them in terms of prices and years of production. Let's find out more about whether to buy a Volkswagen Passat CC for daily use.

The main advantages of the car - the advantages of VW

Of course, this car was always bought not for technical data, but for practicality. The main criterion for choosing such a car is design. Until today, cars produced before restyling look great. Their appearance is emphasized by a visually elongated shape that creates a sense of dynamics even in the absence of physical movement. The salon corresponds to such moods and does not let the buyer down in terms of the beauty and convenience of all controls.

Among the advantages of the machine he names the following features:

  • style is really cool car, which you can admire for a very long time, even if the car is not the most modern, but in its appearance it retains many unique features and characteristics;
  • confidence on the road is sport car, which received unique developments in terms of the suspension, so that the model grabs the road in a sporty bravo and assertively;
  • comfort - despite sports habits, the car remains soft, and the heavy body complements the pleasant behavior of the transport on the road, the driver will be delighted at the first test drive;
  • power and dynamics - vegetable engines were not installed on the CC, they immediately gave the machine only powerful and voluminous units that made it possible to operate the car in any conditions;
  • frameless glazing is a solution that was previously actively used by Subaru cars, and it is also the first Volkswagen model from the modern series with such an unusual feature.

The beautiful interior is even better than you'd expect. The first generation was produced from 2008 to 2012, and in these years of development there were not many really beautiful interiors. Make sure you buy a car from good condition... Otherwise, a lot of money will have to be spent on updating the interior. The cost of parts for restoration is cosmic. Indeed, despite the mass character of the car, the company itself considers it exclusive and does not hesitate to raise the price of spare parts.

The main cons of buying a VW Passat with CC prefix

Auto is difficult to call practical. It was created to please the eye, and not to take the owner to the dacha and transport sacks of potatoes. There is not enough space in the trunk, for the sake of design its volume was cut. There is also not much space above the head. Excellent design makes up for these shortcomings, but for many buyers this may not be the best. pleasant surprise... The second row of seats is much less comfortable here than in a regular Passat.

Also, among the shortcomings, the following features are noted:

  • steering - you don't expect such sluggish control from a semi-sports car, this situation was corrected in 2012, but before that the car could hardly be called successful in this regard;
  • sensors and electronics - in the Passat CC of the first generation there were rain sensors, a start-stop system and other electronics, which over time begins to work as it pleases;
  • engines can be included not only in the pros, but also in the minuses, the popular 1.8 TSI engines can hardly be called successful, they eat oil, and their turbine is actively destroyed, the chain does not live too long;
  • low ground clearance has also become a victim of design, but for Russian conditions this is not always acceptable, a low front overhang is especially problematic, the bumper has to be repaired frequently;
  • maintenance cost - the car is very expensive, spare parts for restoration and even for regular maintenance cost a lot of money, so this is a car for those with the means.

Of course, it is difficult to imagine a person who buys a Passat CC for the last money. Still, you expect more practicality from a car with the VW brand. The car can actually be pleasant to drive and be a true friend for the owner, but it will never become practical and pleasant to maintain. Any detail during restoration will make you regret buying such a car. So you will have to think about the price of the content right away in order not to get an unpleasant surprise in the future. In fairness, we note that the machine does not break down too often.

Technical parameters - which version should I choose?

Among the engines, the most popular in Russia are 1.8 TSI and 2.0 TSI gasoline units. The first gives out 152 forces, the second - 211 or 200, depending on the version. Also sometimes found with 3.6 FSI V6 engine with 4Motion all-wheel drive system. In the generation after restyling, diesel cars with 2.0 TDI began to appear, but the practicality and quality of this diesel engine is questionable. In the secondary market, it's best to look at gasoline engines, while giving preference to 2.0 TSI. This is a more advanced engine.

The most important characteristics of the machine are as follows:

  • engines with a volume of 2 liters show less breakdowns, but they are more expensive on the market, they are also more powerful than their own younger brother for the concern, they have much less childhood illnesses;
  • the 1.8 TSI engine is also good at running, copes well with active and fast driving, but the engine requires an ideal quality of service and constant monitoring of the condition, otherwise problems cannot be avoided;
  • in those days, such cars with mechanics were still produced, and although there are not so many of them in the secondary market, it is worth choosing just such an option, the manual transmission never fails in the CC Passat;
  • among automatic machines, the most popular version of the DSG robot turned out to be, which at that time had not yet been worked out too much in the VW concern, so problems with robotic gearbox enough;
  • front-wheel drive is enough on such a low car four-wheel drive on the older engine was more a tribute to style and status, so there is no point in chasing this version.

If the stock of money allows you to buy an all-wheel drive version with a naturally aspirated 6-cylinder 3.6 engine, you can look for such an option. The machine will delight you with reliability, long service life of units and excellent driving performance... But you don't have to overpay for it. The motor is rather sluggish in the city, and the automatic machine completely kills all its advantages of large volume. So 2.0 TSI may turn out to be an even more acceptable alternative for the buyer. In each case, you need to look after the type of engine that is optimal for you.

Which competitors should you consider when buying?

There are not so many stylish sedans with interesting car designs. Passat CC 2010 with a 1.8 TSI engine can be bought for 550-600 thousand rubles in pretty good condition. Auto offers decent technology, albeit not entirely without problems. Also, a pleasing style will become a unique trait, and you are unlikely to find so many interesting design additions on competitors. But if you like to choose from several alternatives, there are a few more cars worth considering.

Here are just a few of the competitors:

  1. Opel Insignia 2012. Great car with good design, excellent technology and pleasant capabilities on the go. The 2.0 engine produces 160 forces and is very lucky, with it there are practically no such problems that sometimes arise with VW engines.
  2. Subaru Impreza 2012. Another rather fresh and interesting sedan with an unusual design and great style. This is a lighter in the world of sports cars, which will help you to actively drive without difficulties and have a pleasant time behind the wheel.
  3. Mazda 6. The most common engines, the most common technical solutions and a very reliable result. Japanese sedan 2010 release for the same money will greatly delight you with its capabilities. And in the repair the car will cost the same as the German Passat CC.
  4. Hyundai Sonata 2011. Interesting car style attracts attention, its technical capabilities are not inferior to competitors. You can find a car with low mileage and in pretty good condition, this is important for a buyer in this class.
  5. Volvo S60. For lovers unusual car the 2011 S60 will do. The machine is excellent in its characteristics and copes well with Russian operating conditions. It is worth considering that there are motors under the hood that will not have to be repaired for a very long time.

As you can see, there are a lot of options. Of course, not all of them have the same bright and interesting design, the first impressions of the trip are just as impressive. But in general, many cars in the same price range can rival the stylish Volkswagen. However, many admirers of German technology will still choose this particular model, since among the Germans, competitors only have stylish sports Audi sedans and BMW, but they are much more expensive, and they demonstrate less practicality in operation.
