The X1 has a minimum brake retention. Perhaps only the ABS unit can “buy” when the niche in which it is installed becomes clogged and start to malfunction, but no more serious problems are foreseen. Not very cheap pad sensors - no problem, just change pads early. Brake discs are not too expensive, and the pads cost a penny. The resource of discs is usually two or three replacements of pads, and the pads run 20-30 thousand kilometers - quite a reasonable resource by modern standards, although high-quality non-original discs can go a little more, especially if you choose "soft" pads. The brake system is very sensitive to the quality of the brake fluid, it is recommended not to forget about the replacement intervals.

The suspension is also no surprise here. The fastest wearing elements during active movement are the ball joints in front and the hydraulic support of the lower front arm: their resource is about 40-80 thousand kilometers for original parts. Moreover, the hydraulic support is often misdiagnosed even in a specialized service, and steering vibrations are attributed to problems in the tires or the brake system.

Engines and power

From small "surprises" - the lack of stabilizer inserts on sale lateral stability, only complete replacement is assumed. In practice, the owners, of course, use E91 rubber bands.

The only nuance is that the "native" rubber bands are glued, so when replacing new ones it is also recommended to stick to the stabilizer to save the resource. The area where the fasteners are located is heavily contaminated, and if this is not done, the resource of the parts will be insultingly small - about 10-20 thousand kilometers.

At the back, everything is quite reliable, the main thing is not to forget to monitor the condition of the silent blocks of the subframe on powerful versions. Otherwise, the first predictably fail are the outer hinges of the support arm and the diagonal "links" with two silent blocks. With them, you can count on 70-100 thousand resources on good roads - the rest of the elements also strongly depend on the driving style and load.

And, by the way, about the tires: as on many other Bavarian cars, there is no place for a stowaway, since the X1 is equipped with RunFlat tires as standard. But their profile is higher than on passenger cars- makes the tire noticeably stiffer.

Many people note that when switching to "regular" tires, the car becomes much more comfortable, and at the same time less demanding on the state of the suspension. With standard tires, the X1 pleases not only with good handling, but also with increased requirements for the condition of shock absorbers and suspension mounts, as well as the condition of all hinges, silent blocks and supports.

The steering is conventional, with a hydraulic rack and an optional Servotronic module. Unfortunately, the rake is leaking. The problem is poor seals and stem corrosion. However, the bulkhead has been mastered, and a thorough check of the rail is recommended at the time of purchase and at each maintenance. So, if the fluid in the power steering tank still decreases, the repair price will be from 15 thousand rubles.

Transmission

The first serious surprises lie in wait for potential buyers of X1 right here. No, there are no problems with the manual transmission, and gears and electric motors are still dying in the transfer cases - this is not a surprise. And the automatic transmissions are all well-known here. With engines of the N52 series of early releases, the GM 6L45R automatic transmission, six-speed, is most often found. Later cars usually have a ZF 6HP19 automatic transmission. The same automatic transmission is often found in combination with atmospheric engines of the N46B20 series, from 2011 to 2015, but a GM automatic transmission was also installed on some of the cars. Since 2009, almost all diesel cars and cars with engines of the N20B20 series have been equipped with the new eight-speed automatic transmission ZF 8HP45Z.

The GM transmission of this series is very reliable, because it is designed for large trucks and can handle torque up to 450 Nm. The design flaws of its predecessors in the face of 5L40 have almost disappeared - the lobe pump has been improved, the materials and the shape of the rotor have been changed, the gas turbine engine has become more reliable, and its blocking is significantly more resourceful and pollutes the oil less. With a timely replacement of the fluid, the box runs for a long time.

More often it gets into repairs in winter because of a "childish" problem - the gear selection stock freezes. With runs over 150 thousand, intermediate repairs are often required with the replacement of linear solenoids. If you drive with jerks, then it is not the mechanics that can break, but the electronics - the automatic transmission control unit assembled with solenoids. Repair of gas turbine engines most often happens with runs for 200-250 thousand, but in the case of a "sporty" driving style, the resource can be half as much.

The mechanical part mainly suffers from dirty oil - problems begin with a slow shifting of 2-3 and reverse gears, then blows when all gears are engaged, which will already require expensive repairs. In general, this gearbox is a very successful design, although in terms of driving characteristics it lags behind the ZF automatic transmission.

Six-speed ZF has long been known to all services. The first experience in introducing electronics into the automatic transmission itself with the formation of "mechatronics" was to some extent a genius. The move to more economical hydraulic circuits and improved kinematics was also a breakthrough. But the owners remembered the excellent dynamics and the very expensive and frequent repairs of these transmissions.

Runs of 200 thousand kilometers are extreme, while repairs are extremely voluminous and expensive. On boxes of those series that were installed on X1, most often breakdowns are associated with failures of "mechatronics", but in this case it does not change entirely. In most cases, business is limited to cleaning and replacing the separator plate and monitoring the operation of loaded solenoids. The resource problems of this series of automatic transmissions begin after 150 thousand kilometers: first of all, it needs to replace the blocking linings of the gas turbine engine, and if the oil has not been changed or changed rarely, then it also needs to replace all the bushings and repair the oil pump. For those who like to “press down the sneaker”, each time the resource of the gas turbine engine drops to hundreds of thousands, but even with a very quiet ride, the linings are unlikely to stretch to 200-250 - the box quite actively uses the possibility of partial blocking even with quiet movement.

The eight-speed automatic transmission 8HP45Z is famous for the dependence of the resource on the driving style, as well as excellent capabilities for electronic diagnostics of its condition. For details, refer to the material on the "five". Generally speaking, the resource has dropped a little more, but the number of serious failures of "mechatronics" in this series of boxes is less, and it tolerates hard modes and overheating better. True, it is also more expensive to repair than its six-speed predecessors.

Actually, the resource of automatic transmissions in modern BMWs is not a surprise, as is the price of repairs. The surprises start with the front gearbox, which, despite its light load, often turns out to be without oil and with damaged bearings. However, the howl when discharging gas can also be caused by problems in the transfer case. With the younger series of motors, they installed too weak a transfer case of the ATC35L series, which simply does not withstand off-road "exploits". The stronger ATC350 holds up noticeably better - it is replaced by the "youngest" one in case the latter fails.

And the rear gearbox on the 28iX and 25dX versions tends to come off completely. If you miss the moment of separation of one or even two silent blocks of attachment, then you can "get" to replace the drive shafts in the assembly.

Fortunately, there is nothing more to break here. Is that the resource of the CV joint anthers in front is too small: it is recommended to change them every 50 thousand kilometers. As a rule, they begin to "sweat" in the summer, and in winter, the loss of tightness can be skipped, and then the hinge itself will have to be changed.

Motors

Radiator cost N46

Price for original:

20 369 rubles

Most of the cars are equipped with naturally aspirated engines of the N46B20 series and diesel N47B20. Of the general difficulties, there is a very dense arrangement of radiators, and on supercharged engines there is also a not very successful shape of the intercooler - it is very difficult to flush it. But let's start with the diesel engine, which is more popular on the X1.

Diesels of the N47 series are good for everything - traction, power and economy. All, except for a good chance to ruin the owner and the characteristic timing noise, well audible in the cabin. Motors up to 2011 have a frankly small resource of the timing chain, which is located here on the flywheel side. Of course, the cost of replacing it is extremely high, since the procedure includes removing the engine. Well, the intake manifold flaps, which over time tend to get into the cylinders, and the capricious piezo injectors complete the picture.

If the chains were changed under warranty, then you can count on a resource of about 250 thousand kilometers to the bulkhead, but some of the cars did not get into the recall campaign, and the owners consider the timing chain to be "eternal", so there is still a chance to buy a problematic copy. Usually, in such machines, the timing breaks off with runs of 80 thousand, but the upper limit fluctuates greatly. Some of the machines could undergo warranty repairs until 2011, with replacement crankshaft and chains to "intermediate", but also an unsuccessful option - in this case there is a chance of slipping the timing chains and breaking the oil pump chain, but with slightly higher mileage than the original version.

The resource of piezo injectors is limited to about 150-200 thousand kilometers, and they can cause a lot of trouble. In the event of a leak, which is typical for them, either a water hammer or a burnout of the piston can occur. Therefore, it is recommended to check the injectors for the presence of series in the recall campaign. Against the background of these difficulties, little things like current heat exchangers, the availability of options without a heater, "glitchy" EGR and a clogged diesel particulate filter are just nonsense. The rest of the engine is very good - if they took care of it and changed the oil on time, then it is quite capable of making the owner of such a car happy.

But the gasoline N46 is unlikely to please. Many believe that the two-liter naturally aspirated engine is much simpler than diesels and turbocharged N20s. Apparently, that's why there are so many cars with him. But in practice, this is a set of absurdities hung on a two-liter "aspirated".

A complex throttle-free intake, high temperature control, adjustable oil pump - all this reduces reliability and increases the cost of servicing a banal "four" to a disproportionate value of its performance. In addition, the motor is famous for the banal buttermilk. And let the fans of the brand say that this is good, since the oil is constantly being updated, but this is precisely the consequence of the coking of the piston group due to the unsuccessful drainage of oil from the oil scraper ring groove, its unsuccessful shape, a low head belt and thin compression rings. The picture is completed by an electronic oil level sensor, which sometimes malfunctions, as a result of which the motor is sent to the trash quickly and easily.

The resource of the timing chain is about 150 thousand kilometers, the same is maintained by the Valvetronic mechanism on regular oil. In principle, everything can be put in order: replace the piston group with a modernized one, change the timing, clean and sort out the engine ... But most of the owners of such cars simply add oil. Therefore, it is recommended for purchase only if you have carefully read this paragraph, and all of the above does not bother you. In any other case, it is better to take either the time-tested "six" N52B30, the most successful of its series. Its problems are approximately similar to those of the N46 series, but they are stretched out in time by two or two and a half times. Another alternative is the petrol N20, a completely new supercharged engine. Of the advantages of the notorious "aspirated" - perhaps the relative simplicity and maintainability: there are repair dimensions, and spare parts, and methods for restoring all units. And finding a contract unit is not a problem.

BMW X1 E84
Fuel consumption per 100 km

N20B20 in two variants of forcing - the motor is much newer and in terms of characteristics it is not equal to the old N46. True, the price of restoring such an advanced engine - an all-aluminum one with a "tricky" geometry of the piston group, an adjustable oil pump, a cooling system, direct injection and turbocharging is several times higher, and the resource of the piston group with a small boost is equal to the timing resource on the N46. However, while the cars with it are noticeably fresher, better served and have noticeably fewer minor problems. And they go much better.

Of the "special" troubles - leaks of the electric pump of the cooling system: it is the main and the only one here, its price is quite high, and there are no cheap substitutes. Oil glass leaks also occur: until 2014 it was plastic, and the partition inside could not withstand the oil pressure. In this regard, it is strongly recommended (if this has not been done yet under warranty) replacement with a glass number 11 42 7 548 032 with a heat exchanger number 11 42 7 525 333 - these are already all-aluminum parts.

The timing resource with active movement is less than 100 thousand kilometers, and the signs of the death of the oil pump drive chain among fans of "burn out" on a cold engine are observed even with runs less than 70. Unfortunately, the motor was replaced with a newer series without waiting for debugging. In addition to these troubles, there is always a small chance of a piston seizure, and the control electronics subtract regularly. Versions with different power differ piston group, and chipping significantly reduces the engine resource due to an increase in the tendency to detonation and poor-quality tuning. But on the other hand, the power of the order of 350 or more forces is quite achievable.

Summary

As you can see, the X1 is not a bad car. Too simple in appearance by modern standards of the brand, but nevertheless it fits well into the niche allotted to it. It is deliberately simple in many ways - and this is good, because it lowers the cost of maintenance, and as for driving pleasure, then it is enough here, because the chassis is not badly tuned.

The best option from the point of view of mechanics is most likely a car with an inline-six and a GM “automatic” under the hood, but a diesel with a replaced timing, fresh injectors and without additional problems will easily compete with it in terms of dynamics, and in terms of fuel consumption and general practicality. will be noticeably ahead. With a low mileage, you can take a chance and take a car with a turbocharged gasoline engine: it is really good, and in combination with an eight-speed automatic transmission it shows wonders of dynamics and economy. It is also recommended to all fans of serious tuning.

Your voice

“This is the fourth BMW in our family,” says the owner of a 2010 BMW X1. - Three years ago we were looking for a BMW X1 for our wife, but then it turned out to be more expensive than the X3 in the back of the E83. Therefore, then we gave preference to the cheaper model, but now we bought what we liked more. "

BMW X1 (E84) 2010 release

We present to your attention the owner's review of the 2010 BMW X1 (E84) all-wheel drive with a 2.0-liter diesel engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The car was bought in Belarus in early summer, although the first car registration was in Moscow. Mileage at the time of purchase was about 147 thousand kilometers, now on the odometer - 151 thousand.

“We already knew that BMWs are stylish and comfortable cars,” says the owner of the 2010 BMW X1. - For three years of operation, the BMW X3 did not cause much trouble. Some consumables, of course, were not cheap. But the most important thing is real driving pleasure.

This particular X1 arrived in Belarus after the 2014 “auto boom”. I bought it already with Belarusian transit. Before buying with a friend, we checked it all. I will not hide, I was in an accident. Judging by the readings of the thickness gauge, the front right fender was painted. We also noticed that the front frame, the so-called TV and bumper, was replaced. But the blow, apparently, was not strong - the airbags are intact.

The gap between the bumper and the hood is large for many models.

By the way, the gap between the hood and the bumper is very large even from the factory. Our craftsmen have already learned how to eliminate this defect, they heat and bend so that the gap is reduced. In my car, this gap is slightly larger than in other cars - the result of installing a non-original bumper. But I am not going to fix this defect yet, now it is more important to provide quality service to this X1. And it doesn't really annoy me.

They say new BMWs don't have as good bodies as older models. This is logical - paints have become more environmentally friendly, water-based and, of course, more delicate. By the way, I also have a second car in my family - the new KIA Rio. This is where the paint and varnish are really awful - they bounce off in pieces. And BMW, especially not the newest ones, do not have such problems. Believe me, I have something to compare with.

Immediately after the purchase, the windshield had to be changed. It was without cracks, but so rough that in sunny weather, chips on the glass interfered with the view, and in rainy weather there were stains after the wiper blades. Therefore, I decided to replace the windshield with a new one. Original BMW glass with moldings and installation cost 260 euros. Considering that the people most dear to me - my wife and children - will drive in the car, I did not spare money for safety.

The X1's trunk is very small, smaller than the E91 the X1 is based on. But I knew what I was going for. For the sake of spectacular appearance and the size of the cabin had to sacrifice a roomy trunk.

The seat backs do not fold in the usual 2/3 ratio - you can fold each separate part, and there are three of them. For example, if you need to transport skis, then it is enough to lower only the middle part, two passengers will still have space.

The seatbacks can be tilted slightly forward to increase the size of the luggage compartment.

There is also a very convenient function for adjusting the angle of inclination of the backs rear seats... But unlike premium cars, the backrests can be adjusted not for the convenience of passengers, but to increase the size of the trunk. I already appreciated this option when I was transporting a household compressor in a box - this is the only way to fit it into the trunk and close the lid.

The interior is very similar in appearance and in detail to the BMW 3 Series E90

The interior is ordinary, no frills and very similar to the BMW 3 Series. Any driver will immediately notice the perfect ergonomics - no need to reach anywhere, no need to look for anything, everything is intuitive. Moreover, the Germans in each new generation make the internal equipment even more modern and convenient. The X1 finally has highway-mode (three short beeps when changing lanes) at the turn switch, which was sorely lacking in my previous BMWs. The non-locking directional switch took some getting used to, but ended up being very comfortable.

There are no Dual buttons in the climate control, the owner lacks this.

But I don't really like the BMW climate control. It is separate, and this is its minus - most often I drive alone in the car, and constantly setting the same temperature for the driver and passenger gets bored. And for some reason there is no Dual button. Therefore, for me personally, ordinary climate control or even air conditioning would suit me. Or am I just still not figured out how to use it all?

Installing any option in BMW is not a problem - for $ 1000, the head system screen will appear instead of the glove compartment.

Another thing I like about BMW cars is that they can be constantly improved. You bought, for example, a car in a simple configuration, but over time you wanted a richer one. Not a problem - all parts are bought, installed and stitched. As a result, you can make a car for yourself. I really want a screen instead of a glove compartment on the panel. I found original parts for installation, but I'm not ready to give a thousand dollars for it yet, although I already bought the original frame. But the cruise control will definitely be installed - it is not enough. There is still not enough memory for the seats and mirrors on the key. In X3 it was, my wife and I got used to it - everyone had their own key. And here you need to constantly customize everything for yourself.

Despite the considerable mileage, the condition of the seat upholstery is good.

But the materials of the interior trim are up to the mark. The Sensatec seat upholstery is very stylish, pleasant to the touch and quite durable. Even after 150 thousand kilometers, there is not a single crack, many manufacturers would not hurt to learn how to make such salons.

In the combined cycle, consumption is about 7.1 liters of diesel fuel per 100 kilometers.

The units and assemblies are very reliable. There are legends about the "automatic" ZF, and the N47 engine is quite high-spirited - 177 hp. with. And again, with great potential - it can be chipped up to 204 hp. with. Combined fuel consumption is about 7.1 liters per hundred kilometers. The engine is good, but it doesn't sound: in-line "four" is not the "strong point" of BMW. X3 had a 6-cylinder engine, this is real BMW engine! By the way, in-line four-cylinder engines have a "sore" - an open timing chain for an unknown reason. There were cases of rupture even on a run of only 30,000 kilometers. The consequences for the motor are serious, so the chain must be monitored. But many ignore this because of the considerable cost of work - after all, when replacing the timing, you need to completely remove the motor, it is located longitudinally, and the chain is almost under the dashboard.

Immediately after the purchase, I spent MOT. And I already noticed that the engine does not consume oil at all. I fill in Shell, buy filters KNECHT - about 120 rubles for oil service (you need synthetic oil approved for particulate filters). Now it is necessary to service the rear and front gearboxes, the transfer case - about 120 rubles for the oil plus the cost of work. The most expensive maintenance is gearbox maintenance: not only the oil changes, but also the sump with bolts. The original set of ZF consumables costs about 400 rubles. Why so expensive? Only 7 liters of oil are needed in the box, in addition, the automatic transmission filter is an integral part of the plastic pallet, disposable aluminum bolts for securing the pallet are also changed. It seems to me that this is a normal price.

After an inspection of the brake system with measuring the thickness of the brake discs was carried out at the service station, it turned out that all of them, as well as the brake pads, must be replaced. Although visually these components looked good, direct measurements showed that it was high time to replace them - the manufacturer's tolerances are very strict. In addition to discs and pads, wear sensors are also replaced. Spare parts were used by PATRON, HSB, BLUEPRINT: for the front axle, new brakes cost about 250 rubles, for the rear - 175 rubles. Considering that the brake discs are quite large and ventilated - both front and rear, the prices do not seem too high.

Expert opinion

“There is no point in talking about all the diseases or malfunctions of the BMW X1 that are serviced and repaired at our service station - most often these are special cases that have arisen due to improper operation,” says Denis Nikshtaitus, master of the Shate-M Plus workshop. - But the most common of them, I will still describe and give recommendations for solving some problems.

Engine: tension problem is common drive belt, as a result, a whistle appears when the steering wheel is turned to extreme positions; there are problems with the engine (extraneous sounds in the rear of the engine, the cause is wear of the gas distribution mechanism, problems with the intake manifold flaps); oil leak from under the chain tensioner oil seal. A characteristic problem of two-liter N47 engines is the wear of the teeth of the lower chain sprocket and, as a result, damage to the chain, and owners also often complain about a rattling sound in the engine area. With this malfunction, the damper, tensioner, chain sprocket and other parts must be replaced. Fuel equipment on diesel engines does not cause any particular problems when using high-quality fuel.

Suspension: often requires replacement of the front stabilizer struts (knocking at low speeds at negative temperatures); there is a backlash in the steering rack on cars without Servotronic; there is a malfunction of the steering crosspiece (knocks appear when the steering wheel is suddenly rotated); broken front springs, broken ball joints, torn bushings of the upper levers are quite common; in the steering, tie rod ends suffer. Also, in all cars equipped with branded all-wheel drive xDrive, the recommendations of the factory for the installation of wheels should be strictly followed, and the dimensions of the rims and tires must be certified by BMW.

Body: Kaliningrad-assembled cars have problems with the windshield sealant (leakage, whistling at high speeds), fogging of headlights and lanterns. At the same time, all BMW X1 vehicles have good corrosion protection.

AKP: gearboxes are considered maintenance-free, but it is still recommended to change the oil at about 80-90 thousand km of run; with an aggressive driving style in the "automatic", the friction clutch quickly wears out, and the waste products contaminate the valves, the oil filter, and, as a result, the automatic transmission fails.

Our partners from the Shate-M Plus company have prepared table of the cost of the main spare parts and works at the service station for BMW X1 2010 release.

Technically, the BMW X1 is based on solutions tested on the BMW 3 and X3. It is curious to compare the dimensions of these models. The "Troika" station wagon is longer (4525 mm versus 4477 mm), but is unable to compete with the second generation BMW X3 (4650 mm). How big is the difference in wheelbase? "Troika" and X1 have between the axles 2760 mm, and BMW X3 - 2810 mm. It should be noted that the X1 is not a small car - its dimensions are comparable to classic compact crossovers.

What are the other differences between the X1 and the BMW 3 Series? In the crossover, the driver sits higher, thanks to which he has a better view. In the X1, it is easier to take a seat behind the wheel, and the extra headspace complements the pleasant driving experience.

Slightly worse with the amount of back seat. Tall passengers will complain about limited legroom. The person who gets a place in the center will have to fight with a large propeller shaft tunnel. If you decide on a BMW X1, remember - the car is not focused on maximum use of dimensions (the engine is located longitudinally).

The crossover is shorter than the "three" with the same wheelbase. However, in terms of cargo capacity, the X1 isn't all that bad. Yes, the trunk is small (420 liters), but easy to use. The double bottom floor forms an almost level surface when the sofa is folded down.

A distinctive feature of BMW crossovers is a chassis tuned for dynamic driving. The Bavarians even changed the name of the segment from SUV to SAV - instead of "Utility" they used the term "Activity". However, coupled with increased ground clearance, this can only mean one thing - a stiffer suspension and a minimum of comfort.

The manufacturer assured that he took into account the complaints of the owners of the X3 and X5 about the excessive stiffness of the suspension, but in the case of the X1, it is better not to count on comfort. Much depends on the configuration. Run flat tires, low profile tires and optional sports suspension significantly reduce the ride comfort. Higher profile wheels are much preferable, although this will have to compromise a little on the legendary impeccable handling.

Engines

It doesn't take long to think about choosing an engine. Among the gasoline engines, in-line 4 and 6-cylinder units were used. Those who want to buy an X1 with a 3-liter engine will have to be disappointed. These versions are a real rarity.

Approximately half of the proposals are cars with 2-liter petrol engines (including turbocharged and direct injection), which offer a good compromise between dynamics and fuel consumption.

Slightly fewer ads with diesel versions. All of them are equipped with a modern 4-cylinder N47 turbodiesel equipped with common rail direct injection, one or two turbines (23d and 25d). All versions of the 2-liter diesel engine from 116 to 218 hp differ only in attachments and electronics.

Unfortunately, diesel engines can be a big nuisance. Some engines required repair of the timing belt, having covered only 60-90 thousand km. In no case should you ignore the first symptoms of timing chain wear (noise when decelerating and idling). Some mechanics even recommend a preventive replacement of the timing drive kit (chain, gear, tensioner) after 100-150 thousand km. Although it is expensive (from 40,000 rubles with work and spare parts), it will allow you to avoid more significant costs in the future due to damage to the camshafts or the destruction of sprockets. The high cost of replacement is due to the location of the chain at the junction of the engine and the box, which must be removed.

The turbocharger is also not distinguished by its durability. Its resource is slightly more than 150-200 thousand km. The new turbine will cost at least 40-60 thousand rubles. Bosch piezoelectric injectors live about the same - from 30,000 rubles apiece. Fuel injectors cannot be repaired.

Petrol engines are much more reliable, especially the 3.0-liter N52 (25i and 28i - until 2011). Among the features, it is worth noting the presence of the Valvetronic valve lift control system in the N46 (18i) series engines and a two-channel turbine in the N55 (35i).

Owners of gasoline X1s will have to replace the electric motor of the Valvetronic system over time (after about 150,000 km) (rpm starts to float). The cost of a new node is from 10,000 rubles.

In 2011, modifications to the X 1 appeared with a 2-liter N20 gasoline engine equipped with direct fuel injection, VANOS and Valvetronic. The new unit received conflicting opinions regarding reliability. There are problems with the lubrication system, leading to the cranking of the liners. It is noted that there are no problems for those owners who did not save on the quality and timing of oil changes. In addition, at high mileage, failure of the fuel injectors is inevitable. The cost of a new one is about 3,000 rubles, and it is recommended to change them in full. The first symptoms are uneven engine operation. In conclusion, it is worth noting another drawback of the N20 - the oil pump drive chain.

Transmission and chassis

While the X3 was offered exclusively with xDrive all-wheel drive, the BMW X1 could also be rear-wheel drive. These machines are called sDrive.

The presence of this or that drive was determined by the motor. The most powerful petrol and diesel versions (23d and 25d) were all-wheel drive only. The base 18i and 16d have always had a leading rear axle. In other versions of the power unit, the buyer himself chose the type of transmission.

With the introduction of the BMW X1, the xDrive has been updated. For changing transfer case The ATC 300 came to the ATC 350. In its bowels you will find a triple gear that drives a parallel shaft that connects the transfer case to the differential on the front axle. The classic differential has been completely replaced by a multi-plate clutch controlled by an electric motor, which also includes a control unit.

Under normal conditions, the vehicle is driven by the rear axle. The front wheels are connected if necessary. And not only when the rear axle loses grip, but also in corners. This solution works great in difficult weather conditions.

There are a number of other features associated with the xDrive version. For example, a hydraulic booster with a gear ratio of 18.5: 1 is used here. And the sDrive has an electromechanical amplifier with a sharper 16.1: 1 steering wheel.

In both cases, in front, there are two lower levers per wheel - transverse and oblique. In the sDrive version, the rear arm is transverse, and the front oblique with a hydraulic rubber mount (only from May 2011, prior to that, a conventional rubber silent block). In xDrive, the front arm is transverse and the rear arm is oblique with a hydraulic silent block (the entire production period). The hydraulic rubber mount is supplied separately.

In xDrive, the design of the lever provides for the replacement of the ball joint, while in sDrive the original levers are only assembled.

It is better to use the products of Lemforder, which is a supplier of spare parts for BMW, as substitutes. The once popular Meyle is no longer as good as it used to be.

The service life of the chassis largely depends on the radius of the wheels and the height of the tire profile. The geometry of the wheels must be adapted to the dimensions in order to avoid rapid tire wear.

There is another technical feature worth mentioning about the X1. It is about connecting the hubs to the front axle shafts. Here, not a classic spline connection is used, but a cylindrical one with a gear wheel. The classic aforementioned solution is kept on the rear axle.

The suspension has an average lifespan and the market is full of reasonably priced substitutes. Often, owners have to deal with the appearance of knocks on the steering rack.

As for the "machine", the main thing here is not to forget to change the oil every 60,000 km. The same must be done with the fluid in the xDrive all-wheel drive transmission.

Premium ...

All BMW models belong to the premium segment. Many X1s are richly equipped and beautiful to look at, although there are examples with a manual transmission, simple air conditioning, and steel wheels. However, the beautiful appearance and initial cost do not correlate in any way with the extraneous sounds that arise when overcoming irregularities or driving on the pavement.

Over time, the plastic of the panel may rattle.

Typical problems and malfunctions

Sometimes the electrician fails. For example, due to a faulty relay, the trunk lock opens. And because of the failed antennas, the central locking stops working. Multimedia may also fail. Often the so-called CCC (Car Communication Computer) group is to blame for this.

Sometimes owners complain about the rapid wear of the "brakes" and a drop in their effectiveness in wet weather.

Conclusion

The BMW X 1 is well worth your while, but you have to be prepared for serious expenses in the process of maintenance and repair. Don't forget that the X1 developers weren't interested in creating the most practical car possible.

We offer you the most complete list of icons that can light up on a car dashboard. Modern cars have a variety of sensors and sensors and also have electronic engine management. All information from the sensors flows into on-board computer cars. In the event of any error, breakdown or the need to inform the driver of important information, automakers have provided a large number of symbols and inscriptions on the dashboard that light up under certain conditions. Unfortunately, the wide variety of symbols on the dashboard confuses many drivers and is sometimes even intimidating. We have collected for you more than 150 warning signs that are found in more than 2000 vehicles. The review includes 30 car brands.

Why are the icons on the dashboard different colors?

Car manufacturers have provided several types of inscriptions and symbols on the dashboard, dividing them into different colors. For example, if you see a non-red icon on your dashboard (for example, green or blue), then your car is most likely still operating normally and you can continue driving. But, nevertheless, you should not ignore the appearance of any warning on the panel.

If a red symbol appears on the dashboard, the vehicle's electronic system is warning you of a potentially serious problem.

If a yellow or orange icon appears on the dashboard, the vehicle is warning you that the vehicle may require maintenance, diagnostics, or repair.

Please note that if the symbol is flashing, then you should not delay the trip to the technical center.

And so let's start with the most important and serious symbols on the dashboard, and then, in decreasing order of importance, we will continue to describe the meanings of the icons on the dashboard.

Warning Symbols - Serious Warnings

If you see any of the following symbols on your dashboard, never ignore the warning. Stop immediately, turn off the engine, and urgently contact an automotive technical center or car service.

Attention! The following warning symbols should not be ignored. Otherwise, your car could be seriously damaged.

Common and common dashboard icons

The following symbols on the dashboard are intended to alert the driver to the planned needs of the machine and to remind you of what you need to do. For example, this type of icon warns you if the windshield washer fluid level is low or that you have not closed the door. This kind of icons can light up both on the dashboard and on the infotainment system (on the screen in the center of the console).

Lighting icons and symbols

Below are all the indicators on the dashboard that are associated with your vehicle's lighting system. Many badges you have probably seen in your car. Most of them light up green or blue.

Dashboard information displays for technical messages and warnings

In recent years, all modern cars manufacturers began to install information displays in the dashboard, which were created to inform the driver of more detailed information about the car and about many operating systems. Typically, this information screen is centered on the dashboard.

There are a huge number of cars on the market that are equipped with such a screen, which are capable of displaying various information about errors, warnings, etc.

Vehicle system malfunction symbols and safety warnings

If you see these icons on your dashboard, contact your dealer or auto service as soon as possible. Attention! Symbols are listed in order of importance (from major to less severe warnings).

Assistance and Safety Dashboard Icons

In addition to the standard dashboard pictograms, new vehicles have many new symbols that relate to the display of many safety and driver assistance functions.

Special and additional icons symbols on car dashboard

The symbols and indicators that we have included in this group are associated with special and new technological functions in modern cars. Some of the symbols from this group, when indicated in green, mean that they are currently active. Other symbols, when they appear on the dashboard, inform the driver about problems with working with a particular function. As a rule, in case of problems, either yellow or red icons are displayed.

Over the past few years, there have been quite a few hybrid and electric vehicles around the world that have new specific badges on the dashboard. For the most part, special symbols in hybrid vehicles indicate how the hybrid system works and in which mode it operates.

Attention! A flashing icon on a hybrid dashboard usually indicates a problem with the vehicle. In this case, you must contact the dealer's technical center.

Looks great. It drives perfectly. Driving is relatively comfortable. The trunk is fine.

Hard and uncomfortable on our roads. Regular tires and engine oil must be changed immediately after purchase. An oak and ugly salon. High prices for spare parts and their rare availability (including in car services). The complexity and high cost of retrofitting (buttons on the steering wheel - you need a steering column ring, CIC - you need a new torpedo, xenon and diodes - you need a new light control unit).

Well what can I say - x1 car is modern, stylish. The salon is terrible. And even if there were sports and leather - it's still terrible. XXX knows how to make salons, XXX doesn't. The driver's seat is comfortable (height is almost 190 cm). Surprisingly, XXX is able to make a comfortable driver's seat, even in a penny, you can sit behind the wheel comfortably. Passenger boarding is bad. Legs feel numb on long trips, front and back. The spaciousness is good - the bike fits in and you can even shove another one. Dynamics - in the city it seems that the horsepower is more than 150. But then, when overtaking on the highway, you realize that it only seems to be. The steering is excellent. Just great. Only the lower section of the steering shaft does not run for a long time, but this is a payback for the high ground clearance. Comfort is not there. Ranflet + rigid suspension = gear grinder on our roads. And this is on 17 disks. Amorth punches at once (and this is in small pits on a run of 50 tons. Km). What will be on the beautiful 18 discs? Perhaps it's all the fault of the regular g under the Pirelli brand. Better on other tires. Passability: you can storm the curbs, it goes well on the dirt road, in the mud - only with all-wheel drive. XXX recommends Castrol. This badyaga does not walk even 7,000 km. For XX, for XXX, I recommend Mobile. Service of XXX from dealers is more expensive than XX. I've always thought it should be the other way around. In general, there is some kind of nonsense with spare parts for XXX, while at XXX they are sold in every gateway. Where are the pockets in the seat backs? Can the mesh be installed? XXX, shove them ... well, you know where, I need normal closed pockets. In general, x1 - good car, an inexpensive alternative to the same GLK or Q3. But if you need comfort, then this car is not for you. This is essentially a three-ruble note, lifted by almost 10 cm. Young (up to 30 years old) and fit amateurs and amateurs drive and park right next to curbs and on them - that's it. The car is reckless and pleasant to drive, but tough and with a terrible interior. The cost and laboriousness of retrofitting with standard multimedia and standard xenon can shock even the owner of a tuned Mercedes. The appearance, undoubtedly, is successful, in white and in Marrakech it still looks great (and already 4 years have passed since the date of issue). On the technical side, the car is reliable. The front suspension, the lower section of the steering shaft, and everything else is small stuff. The question remains about the reliability of the engine and automatic transmission, but for conclusions the mileage is still too small.

Driving performance + cross-country ability is what this car is worth for, Feels confident off-road, The machine is beautiful, I like the austere interior., Fuel consumption is moderate., The cost of Casco and MOT is the lowest for BMW, The suspension is moderately stiff.

Not a comfortable fit in a car for that kind of money could be better, Expensive additional options., Lack of heated rear seats, Trunk volume for long family trips is too small.

At first I looked after myself x3, but I could only pull the bu. In the BMW salon, they offered to see the new x1. I tested it, I thought it, I bought it. I own it for a little more than six months. The farthest trip of 400 km to the village was two weeks ago. About the car: The salon is spartan ascetic, but in general it pleases that there are no extra buttons, everything is in place. The interior trim is simple. It seems that it is considered a crossover, but the landing, like on a sedan, would still be higher. I do not really manage to get comfortable, there is a certain feeling of comfort, but my back became numb even during a trip of 400 km. From what I do not like is the small volume of the trunk, but the rear row can be folded. The noise is not bad, good plastic affects, no crickets were found in the cabin. The stove warmed up the interior quickly. Climate control claims did not cause working and fulfills its functions. The lack of heated rear seats is no longer me. but passengers. With the engine running quietly, the gearbox always has clear shifts, quickly and in a timely manner. In general, the driving performance is 5+. The suspension is stiff, the rear passengers are slightly shaking on the bumps. But not to say that it is completely devoid of comfort, it enters the turns perfectly. I fully experienced permeability on a trip to the village, I did not get stuck anywhere, I drove everywhere. Four-wheel drive - huge +. The clearance of 20 cm allows you not to sit on your belly off-road. The x1 has good visibility thanks to the comfortable large side mirrors. But, like the x6, the rear window is small, but the benefit is parking sensors. Fuel consumption. For myself, I decided not to take it on diesel, I fill in 95 gasoline. In terms of consumption on the highway in winter with a constantly switched on stove about 9 liters, in the city 12 (sometimes more). Output. As a family car x1 is suitable for a family of 3 people, for long trips with children and strollers it is unlikely that there is not much space in the back, and the trunk is too small. What is still delightful is the driving performance of the car + the low price tag for MOT.

    quality of materials

For the entire period of operation, I did only MOT. I regularly monitor the oil level (which pleases I did not eat a drop for 18,000). A. Also, during the issue, the DSC indicator and the all-wheel drive error were on in the passenger compartment. Everything was fixed by the correction of the DSC unit under warranty. They say the electronics glitched due to a low battery charge (the car was in an open-air warehouse for two months)

To buy a BMW has been my dream since the first time (long before I got the license) I got behind the wheel of my father's Bavarian "five" in the back of E34. The dream finally came true this year, at the cost of credit slavery.
We have to travel frequently to and from work. What the mileage says. In a little over four months, more than 18,000 have been rolled. Passed the first MOT, at a reasonable price.
The car passed the real test at the beginning of July. We went on it to rest in the Crimea. There were five of us (four adults and the fifth - a teenager of compact dimensions). The salon pleased us with comfort (Lifestyle equipment - climate control, leather interior ... although rather high-quality leatherette). Even having packed into the car five of us felt quite comfortable and did not get tired during the journey. Although the rear passengers still changed places with the front one every few hours. (Since the vacation was limited in time, we drove quickly and with only one overnight stay) The trunk is quite roomy for the smallest of the X series. Prior to that, I drove a hatchback focus, there was less. All the belongings of five people climbed in, though packed (please note, we were accompanied by 2 girls with full set beach outfits)
For driving performance. Accelerates quickly, the impeller picks up quickly. There were no problems on overtaking. The handling is perfect. Even on the ground, the car does not lose stability. Suspension is stiff, but all BMWs have it. But in the corners it does not heel. And runflat tires have minimal windfall, which provides an even contact patch with the road. Speaking of the turns, I give credit to the design of the front seats. High-quality lateral support did not allow sliding off the back, even with high-speed passage of winding roads.
There is a rut problem. The tires on the BMW are always wide and because of this, the car constantly clings to the track. And since Most of our tracks are crushed by heavy trucks (a separate hello to road builders with their asphalt emulsion not designed for heat above +30), sometimes we had to "catch" the car, jumping over the potassium when going to overtake.
The roads of Ukraine deserve special attention. If we do not have normal roads, then there (with the exception of a new highway from Belarus) there are not even directions. We drove from Kursk along A-108. We drove at night, there was no lighting on the highways. The roads are like Swiss cheese on a washboard. Dodging one pothole, you fly into another. But X1 survived it! Not noticing a particularly large hole in the dark, he flew into it with both wheels from the left side. From the blow, even the navigator and the recorder flew off the mounts. We stopped and looked - nothing. No marks on the disc, no damage to the rubber. When going through MOT, I specifically asked to diagnose the suspension. No damage.
On the way, we stumbled upon a Honda CRV with "native" numbers. Here its owner was not lucky - in a similar hole he "killed" the stabilizer bar and bent the lever. They helped him call a tow truck and drove on.
The biggest concern was the quality of the fuel in the south. Euro 4 there is a myth. You can't find a good diesel engine. The maximum is Euro 3 with a bunch of additives. The engine was reluctant to digest it. The power has decreased, the flow has increased. I was lucky that I had a ride on our Lukoil most of the time (the consumption on the highway was 6.4 liters, so the tank was enough for almost 1200 km!), And then we found, it seems, the only gas station in Crimea with a normal diesel engine. We were paired with a Passat B6, also a diesel. Died choking on fuel. Repair of injectors got up at 12,000. increased consumption- up to 10l \\ 100km. onboard (it seems that the local diesel does not burn at all). What is typical, as soon as they were flooded with LUKOIL in Kursk, the flow rate dropped again and agility reappeared.
Upon returning to his hometown, he gave the car for MOT. We changed all the filters, changed the oil, diagnosed the suspension, everything stopped at 12,400.
Bottom line. An excellent car with excellent handling and speed characteristics. Reliable suspension and excellent engine, which was borrowed from the previous generation X3. (And he was considered the most reliable among BMW). A 6-speed automatic machine, although not new and not as fast as on the latest models, but in combination with the engine torque, "slow-wittedness" does not arise. Switches quickly both up and down. Compared with the Honda automatic (my sister rode a Civic) the German is better. I generally keep quiet about the variators. Those, although they accelerate evenly like trolleybuses, but with fast maneuvers in the stream, they lose by the fact that they cannot adapt to frequent decelerations and accelerations.
In general, I do not regret at all about my choice and the money spent. Each trip cheers you up and brings a smile, what else do you need from a car?

Spectacular exterior; Good ground clearance; Good visibility; Thoughtful interior; Build quality; Excellent ergonomics.

The motor rumbles like a tractor; Small trunk; Front parking sensors; The BK screen is very small; Small area for cleaning the rear wiper; It's cramped behind; Uncomfortable seats.

Hello. I took the risk of being an expert on my new car. It’s up to you to decide what happened. The hero of the review is BMW X1 2015 20d xDrive e84 restyling. Completion x-line, manual transmission, 4wd, brown. The love for the brand and the expiring warranty on my Outlander XL prompted me to make such a purchase. In appearance, the x-line package makes the car more beautiful, so if you have an extra penny, do not skimp, you will not regret it. It includes body kits and wheels for 17. In addition, restyling has improved the appearance. The ground clearance is good for outdoor trips. Bi-xenon shines and looks great. Good visibility, informative mirrors. Thoughtful interior and build quality. In terms of ergonomics, BMW is exemplary for me, better than that of Japanese cars. Although I considered the Mazda CX5 and there is nothing to complain about. The music sounds decent, even with only 6 speakers. "Climate" works quickly. There is no monitor, but instead of it there is a spacious shelf.))) I did not like it. Small trunk, there is no spare tire because the tires are "ranflet". The front parking sensors work like hell - you park, and it just starts to squeak. The back is more or less useful. The BK screen is very small, and the graphics are from the 90s. Small cleaning area of the rear wiper. Comfortable only in the front seats. The mechanical settings of the seat are terrible, the cushion is short. No lateral support or lumbar support. On a 350 km trip, my back ached. I wish I had the sports seats. The motor rumbles like a tractor (not solid). Such X1 is found recklessly. It is pleasant to enter the turns, a clear and taut steering wheel and manual transmission. The gearshift lever is comfortable, comfortable, the moves are what you need. 184 h.p. enough to cheerfully carry a 1600 kg car. The suspension is tight, not stiff. Potholes and waves of the car go well. The joints of railway crossings are strongly felt. Shumka is good up to 120 km / h. I consider this car a premium only with numerous options, because it lacks a lot for a comfortable ride.

I wanted to write a review about my car, but I'm used to just reading. I bought this device from an official in 2012. It all started with a move to a country house, there were few funds left for a fresh Tuareg. So I decided to take a new crossover. I chose only from German and Japanese, but relatively inexpensive, all-wheel drive crossovers. Considered Hitrila - not impressed, heavy on the road. Q3 turned out to be too tough. I did not have enough for the new Tuareg, but the BMW X1 diesel engine arranged both in dynamics and in design as a whole. Bought. First impressions are cost-effective. Consumption 6.5 liters, track - no more than 5.3 liters. The traction of the diesel engine suits me, even at 1200 rpm it presses well into the seat. The seats are not bad with adjustments, only the lateral support is lacking. I found the optimal position immediately (height 174 cm). Upholstery fabric is not easily soiled. "Automatic" 8-speed, switches quickly and imperceptibly. The gearbox and motor worked perfectly. The climate works perfectly, in winter it is warm in the cabin, the supply of warm air starts almost immediately. The glass is quickly defrosted when the glass blowing button is pressed. In other modes, you have to wait a long time. The work of the all-wheel drive is even nothing. Asphalt to the house has not yet been paved, and it is going well on melted snow and light mud. Even without reinforced podgazovki leaves! In my opinion, the suspension is harsh. Moreover, on irregularities, both suspensions behave differently. The front is softer, and the butt kicks up. X1 for perfectly flat roads. In such conditions, he is perfect. And if the track is with patches, then there is no comfort. I did not like the work of traction control - after slipping, it remains active for a long time, the soul is the motor. You rush into the stream, press on the gas, and the car stalls for a couple of seconds. The rear suspension rattles in the cold, passes with warming. The tires are so-so, I reduced them to 2.0 atm. pressure became softer. Because of the suspension, the opinion about this car is twofold. Either you drive along a smooth road - a smile from ear to ear, but when you turn on an average quality, you want to continue on foot. Dear readers, think for yourself. "Iron" I do not presume to advise this car.

Pros: 1. Quite good Business equipment, everything you need is there, including a heated steering wheel. I would also like cruise control. 2. Controllability. There is no crossover in this price range that steers better. Not maps, of course, but very close. Very good road holding. About rut, which others write about - always balance - either handling or "rut". 3. The cost of maintenance. Three MOTs for 9-10 thousand - I have not yet had a cheaper car in operation. Others (Ford, Chevrolet, Opel) the cost of maintenance was in the region of 20 thousand. 4. Quality in details. Including banal wipers - 38 and not quite killed yet :-) 5. Good light. 6. Consumption 8.4 this summer. Very dynamic driving. 7. Taking into account points 3, 6 and the cost of CASCO it turns out that the car is 2 times cheaper in operation than my previous Ford and Chevrolet. Surprising but true. 8. Design. Cons: 1. Shumka. Honestly, I expected more. Yes, you shouldn't wait for the noise isolation of the 5th series, but still we are talking about a premium car. 2. Permeability. I got stuck in the sand right away. Disabling ESP and swinging did not help. I had to pull it out. 3. The trunk. I miss sometimes. Although this is just a feature of the model. 4. Armchairs. A feature of the Business package is the absence of lumbar support. It is solved "external", bought for 1 thousand. ... 5. Dynamics. Better motor 23D. In general, there used to be 28i ... A number of shortcomings (such as noise and stiffness) are solved simply by replacing the rubber - we remove RunFlat Cinturato 7 with P Zero and we get an excellent grip and less noise. When asked, I would buy another one - yes, but with a 218 hp engine and, possibly, with a slightly different set of options. I will also change to BMW, but already 5 GT 30D.

Prior to that, I drove a Chevrolet Captiva 2.4 automatic. I realized that the car needs to be changed urgently after I handed it over with a flying radiator, and then the automatic transmission on the last day of the guarantee. I approached the choice seriously, refused many options, as it turned out that in the capital it is very difficult to buy a new car without waiting for several months. I considered several options: 1) BMW X3 (F25) Quite fit into the budget of 2 million. I tested a 2-liter diesel engine - super, compared to a captiva - just fire even) I would not say that it looks beautiful, I think our people are captivating in it impressiveness so to speak, not beauty. I did not take it, since the queue for these cars stretched for about 9 months. 2) Infinity. Good discounts have just begun on them. But neither the EX37 nor the G37 was available in an acceptable package. By the way, I pay tribute to Infinity, even the initial configurations they have - that is necessary, a wonderful interior, but the rear-wheel drive and the car in the maximum configuration did not suit me. 3) I liked the Toyota Highlander as a whole very much, but I wanted something more dynamic. The Prado did not fit into the budget in the normal configuration. 4) New explorer. A smart car, but in 2011 there were only 500 of them in the country. Very sorry. Somehow they called from BMW dealer and they said that there was a German X1 with an 8-speed automatic (before that they had a 6-speed) and a new engine of 245 forces. I came, looked, liked the car, took a ride - great, bought it. In general, a German woman with a sensatek interior, Servotronic, without an idrive, with a bi-xenon, heated steering wheel and seats cost me ~ 1,900,000. So, now the mileage is 4,000 km. According to the documents, the car accelerates 0-100 in 6.1 seconds. Moreover, with a sharp acceleration, the Servotronic is triggered and the steering wheel becomes stone and the machine begins to count the gears with a whistle (turbine). Unexpectedly good acceleration up to 200 km / h (this is for a 2-liter engine). The limiter is triggered at 220. I will make a reservation that I refuel at the BP 98th. The same Servotronic behaves nicely when the wheels are in the mud - you can turn the steering wheel with your little finger. I can't say the suspension is stiff. Probably off-road - yes, for the city - very comfortable. Personally, I had concerns about the front bumper. As it turned out - in vain. Calmly I park all the way with the wheels in the curb. Consumption, if annealed - 16-17 liters per 100 km, if you go quietly - 12-13. The disadvantages would include not very comfortable seats. First, all the back and butt sweat on the sensatek. Secondly, there is not enough lumbar adjustment (shame on BMW). So there will be an opportunity - take comfortable seats.

    trunk volume

The first owner is 80 thousand km City trips

Very high quality. Ideal for our roads. Very good interior materials - simple and reliable. Where the Korean is Japanese, the French would have already peeled off, in BMW everything looks cool and lasts longer. Dense hodovka and good sound insulation. The machine pulls well and is reliable - it is not a robot or a variator. Turbodiesel engine - that in the city, that there is a power reserve on the highway. I have 204 horses and 400 moments - it accelerates well. Enough clearance. Compact size and roomy at the same time. It is convenient to drive in the city and on the highway it steers well. All-wheel drive helps to travel through snow and mud. The car has everything that I need. I had more than 10 cars before and I know what I'm talking about.

My experience with the BMW X1 is as follows. I am 40, driving experience 14 years. Settled down, sold the 1999 BMW 5 Series. and decided to transfer to a crossover. Tiguan wanted, but my equipment would have to wait for more than one month. I tested the Mazda CX-5, not a bad option. The salon is space, but I wanted something more restrained and dynamic. In general, I bought X1. In the cabin, everything is as I wanted - restrained, solid and harmonious. Soundproofing is good. High quality materials. The front seats are not very comfortable due to the short cushion and lack of lateral support. They are upholstered in fabric, which still looks good. In a more expensive configuration, there are more interesting seats. As for the steering, there is no Servotronic in my configuration, from which the steering wheel has the same stiffness at all speeds and does not get heavy. Because of the rear-wheel drive, the steering is sharp. The car enters the turns as if on rails. The wheels feel even a millimeter steering wheel. Although the wife gets tired of management. He does not like rutting, they say, the rubber is to blame for this. The suspension is somewhere in between. On the track and on the dirt road it suits me. Works silently. The disadvantage is that the oil freezes in the racks in the cold and at first they rattle. The motor is not "ardent", depending on who moved from what. My friend drives Q5 2.0 and my 1.8i does not perceive it at all. This aspirated with 150 liters. with. I like. I am satisfied with the 6-speed automatic transmission. In winter, even with a rear-wheel drive, this Boomer can be safely driven. It is necessary not to climb where you are not sure that you will pass. Electronic systems and so they help with drifts and align the car in hundredths of a second. The dashboard is simple and straightforward. The brightness of the lighting changes. Torpedo, tunnel and door inserts are made of rubber, as it were. The glove compartment is small, but it lights up when you open it. Where the expensive versions have a display, I have a container with a lid for small things. I didn’t like that all the doors had to be slammed like in Zhiguli. There are no complaints about the window lifters and wiper. Recently, a cricket has appeared under the seat and in the dashboard. Let this version be "budget", but still a BMW. And he only pleases, if you do not demand the impossible from him.

I welcome everyone! Taking advantage of the free time, I decided to leave a few lines about the BMW X1 2014, with the xDrive 20d index and xline + equipment. I bought it for my wife, but I'll try to be an expert. We also considered the Opel Mokka, Peugeot 2008, and the younger X. Now we would probably have seen Ecosport from Ford, but then it was not there yet. Extra money appeared, and the choice of itself fell on X (he is more expensive than the rest of the subjects). In Russian, there is a 2-liter diesel engine under the hood. With its 184 hp produces 380 Nm. He walks confidently along the road. Clocked 4500 km. This configuration is distinguished by a beautiful body kit and 17 wheels with ranflat tires. Well, so, the usual "one". Restyling also did not greatly affect, except for the exterior. The headlights look and shine great. Mirrors are informative, the review is excellent. The steering wheel and gearshift knob are very comfortable, and you don't want to let go. Leather is optional, quality is excellent. The music sounds good, the radio can be heard even far from the city. The fabric of the seats and the wood look great. In my configuration, there is no center monitor, so there is a large shelf. The noise is good up to 120 km / h - the whistle in the mirrors and the hum from the wheels do their job. Diesel rumbles loudly both outside and inside. The only thing is, it merges with the general noise from 70 km / h. Moving on to the cons. The motor is rather weak for him. The trunk is small. The salon is cramped, because the place is decent only for the front seats. And that right knee rests tightly against the center console. BK on tidy hellish - display quality from the 90s. The chairs have no lumbar support. A short pillow, but I don't want to remember about mechanical settings. Therefore, it is better to overpay for sports chairs. The armrest is not height adjustable. Now about driving. I took it from 4x4, so that I would ride more confidently. She does it recklessly, she enters the turns perfectly. I took a mechanical box on purpose, I don't see any problems with it, and my wife agreed. In general, the diesel of this engine is not enough, because the car weighs 1700 kg. As a result, it turns out, they bought a wrapper, this modification is far from a real BMW.

I presented this review as an aid before buying a small SUV. Once upon a time I was in search of a car, and was in this skin. Before that, there was an Accord 8, after an accident and the insurance received, I decided to sell it and choose something decent and high. The box only wanted an automatic transmission, because in the city it is comfortable with it. Test drive of the new BMW X1 2014 confirmed that it is right choice... I originally wanted this Behu for its compactness, characteristics and beauty. I also really considered the Mercedes GLA, but it came out really some kind of toy, although not childish in terms of money. Let's return to my purchase. Locomotive thrust of the xdrive 20d motor. The landing is high, there is enough space. Visibility among SUVs is one of the best. The hood is large, sloping and does not interfere with the view. The management is excellent, the dynamics are satisfied, the BMW is no matter how! After the sedan, the suspension is stiff. In turns without rolls, the car is assembled in a sporty way. On a gravel road with gravel under 60 km / h it goes well and feels normal in the cabin. The radius of the tires on my BMW X1 is 17. She does not like the track on which she prowls - the main thing is to keep the steering wheel stronger. She did not climb in the mud. The traction on the wheels is skillfully distributed. Several times the wheel hung up and drove out. It will go along the muddy country road, but no more. The dynamics are equally good up to 180. The thrust is always even. Consumption 9-11 liters (taking into account 30% of the route). With moderate driving, 9 liters is stable. They will say less, do not believe, the power does not get for free. There are enough brakes for the city, but with 120 it slows down mediocre. ABS works exactly when you need it. This is also noted about the BMW X1 by the reviews of the owners that I came across. The salon is normal. Enrages an inconvenient block of e-mail. window lifters, for which you need to reach with a short handle. The quality of materials and workmanship are at a high German level. The buttons are at a minimum, everything is just necessary. The climate is excellent. Music for 4-. I completed the noise and vibration isolation of the body, where I saw very thin safety corners under the skin. The metal of the BMW X120d is thin, and the doors closed with a rattling sound. The trunk is not bad, an adult is large enters without removing the wheels. The ties are conveniently attached. There is enough space inside, practicality did not disappoint. Illuminated glove box, lined with fabric, but small.

After reading many reviews, I decided to leave my opinion about the BMW X1. I travel a lot myself, 45-60 thousand a year. I rode many cars, before the X1 there was a BMW 530d - 2002, Suzuki GW 2008 and 2013, Toyota Highlender, Ford focus 2, etc. There is something to compare with. Chose from X3 E83 and X1 E84. But the X1 is more modern, so I settled on it. Initially, I was looking for an expensive package, with good equipment, a powerful engine, but economical, so I chose the X1 2,3d. Bought the car in the fall of 2013. For its size and price, the car is excellent. According to the dynamics, a hurricane. By handling - karting. The suspension is moderately stiff, but you can ride comfortably. Especially when I did not put the wheels on RunFlat, the car became softer and less responsive to rutting. Average consumption is about 8-8.5 liters, but I always drive fast. When I drive around the city in the mode (gas to the floor), the consumption is about 10.4 liters. Easier to call it mad stool. Everything is fine in the cabin, it is conveniently arranged. Comfortable seating with lots of adjustments and good leather (not like a cheap rag). Large informative monitor. Everything is clearly visible in sunny weather. I-drive and other BMW delights. The plastic is certainly not like on older BMWs, but still pleasant to the touch. Nothing rattles anywhere, although I am very picky about it. Liked the sound of the Harman carbon audio system. Even in cold weather, the interior quickly heats up, apparently there is an electric heater. Very well behaved on slippery roads, thanks to the X-drive. And in general it is very well managed. High ground clearance (20 cm) though, from the side it seems lower. In winter, in any frost (at -30), it started without problems. In general, I was pleased with the car. Of course, the car is cramped, but it is small itself, so this can hardly be attributed to disadvantages. If you don't like it, buy a bigger car. Of the shortcomings, I would note a small glove box (glove compartment), a low overhang front bumper(but looks nice). In the cold, until they warm up, the racks knock and this is clearly audible in the cabin. By the standards of BMW, sound insulation is rather weak, the sound from the engine is clearly audible, but this is for a diesel engine. In terms of costs, everything is like a BMW - if you want to drive beautifully, you have to pay, but compared to large BMWs, it is more economical. I hit about 15 thousand while changing only consumables (100 thousand km by car), and two hinges on rear suspension... What the previous owner changed in it - God knows. Later I will try to describe the entire experience of owning this "wonderful" car.

Good health to all! I will write my first review on the operation of the car. I sold the car, so I hope for some objectivity of my review. I bought a new car from an authorized dealer, operated it for about 1.5 years, the mileage at the time of sale was 29,000 km. Over the entire period of using the car, the front stabilizer struts and the steering shaft cross had to be changed as part of the warranty service, and the last detail is the incurable disease X1. Signs of the presence of defects in the cross-piece are small knocks in the case of a sharp twisting of the steering wheel. According to the master of the technical center, the replacement of the crosspiece is not enough for a long time and the knocks appear again. Replacing the stub struts by 25,000 was a little upset because I drove the car neatly and on relatively flat roads. I liked the 2.0 diesel engine very much, never added any additives to the fuel, but it started at -27 without any questions (there is no Webasto). I didn't like it very much: a noticeable vibration and noise, although you get used to it over time, perhaps I find fault, because for me this is the first diesel engine. He added oil during the running-in process in the region of 400 grams, after the first maintenance, the oil consumption was 0. Maintenance I spent at the dealer's office, but with my own consumables, in general, changing the oil and filters was about 7,000 rubles. The volume of the cabin is enough for a family of 3 people, of which the height of the first is 182, the second is 165 and the third is 90 cm. The trunk is small, but with reasonable use it is quite enough. In winter, I really liked the work of the plug-in all-wheel drive, you feel quite comfortable on the snowy road slurry. I think the disadvantages of this car are the rigidity, the asceticism of the interior and the insane high cost of additional options when buying from a dealer. I would be glad if my review will help someone in choosing a car. I will not answer the rudeness, because I have no desire to spoil my mood. If you have any questions about the operation of the car, I will try to answer. I apologize for mistakes.
