New 1972 UAZ 469 2.4 l / 75 hp - 1 owner, Mileage 1469 km

UAZ-469 and UAZ-3151- Soviet utility vehicles off-road(off-road vehicles) produced at the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant.

The main command vehicle in the Soviet Army, as well as in the countries of the Warsaw Pact, since the mid-1970s, replacing its predecessor GAZ-69 in this capacity. Serial production of the UAZ-469 and UAZ-469B models began in December 1972, before that, starting in 1964, several pilot series were produced. In 1985, the production of the modernized model UAZ-3151 with a normalized industry index was launched. Its release in 2003 was limited only to gear (3151) and export (31512, 31514 and 31519) versions due to the transition to the modernized model UAZ-315195 "Hunter" for the domestic market.

Starting from April, during 2010, a limited series of off-road vehicles was produced under the conditional marketing name "469" (factory index UAZ-315196). The release of this series was timed to coincide with the 65th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and is planned in the amount of 5,000 units.

In 2011, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation decided to abandon further purchases of the UAZ-3151.

HISTORY

UAZ-469 was designed to transport people, goods and light car trailers on all types of roads. The development of the car began in the 1950s, in 1958 the first prototype was built under the name UAZ-460. The car looks like an American Jeep - a sturdy utility SUV, but not very comfortable. Interestingly, already in 1965, images of the UAZ-469 could be found in the Soviet press, but it was still a long way from the launch of the machine.

The first UAZ-469 rolled off the assembly line Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant December 15, 1972 They replaced the GAZ-69. As an aggregate base, the Volga GAZ-21, well known to the mechanics of those years, known for its reliability and structural safety factor, was largely used.

Under the UAZ-469 index, the car was produced until 1985, after which, in accordance with the industry system of 1966, it received the four-digit number 3151 (the UAZ-469B car received the number 31512).

In August 1974, three completely standard (without winches and traction control chains) UAZ-469 vehicles during a test run reached the glacier on Mount Elbrus at an altitude of 4200 meters.

In February 2010, the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant announced the resumption of production in a limited batch of a model called UAZ-469 (index UAZ-315196). Changes have been made to the design to improve comfort (spring-loaded front suspension, front disc brakes, power steering (complete with a metal roof), engine ZMZ-4091 112 hp. from.), however, the solutions used in the original design, which have undergone changes, are also applied: Timken split bridges, which received steering knuckles from the Spicer bridges; metal bumpers, complemented by plastic "fangs"; drop board, previously used on the UAZ "Hunter Classic").

In January 2011, the UAZ-469 disappeared from the catalog of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant, having exhausted the limit of 5,000 cars. In its place the UAZ "Hunter Classic" returned again, the price of which significantly exceeds the price of the 469th.

DESIGN

  • The body is open for five, with a removable canvas awning, four-door, side doors with removable metal glazed extensions. Tailgate ("fifth door") - for loading luggage, two folding seats in the back can accommodate two more passengers. The arches of the awning are removable, the windshield frame can be folded onto the hood, which makes it easier to camouflage and transport (for example, in a helicopter).
  • The car body is mounted on a torsionally rigid and torsionally rigid spar frame.
  • Engine - in-line 4-cylinder 2.5-liter UMZ-451MI engine.
  • Power - 75 hp with.
  • Fuel - gasoline A-72 or A-76.
  • The clutch is dry single-plate.
  • Transmission - 4-speed (with synchronizers in 3rd and 4th gears). The transfer case is two-stage, rigidly attached to the gearbox (there is no intermediate propeller shaft).
  • Fuel tanks - 2 x 39 liters.
  • Fuel consumption at a speed of 90 km / h - 16 liters per 100 km.
  • The total number of places is 7.

UAZ-469 carries 7 passengers and 100 kg of luggage or two passengers and 600 kg. The car can tow a trailer weighing 850 kg.

To increase the ground clearance to 300 mm, driving axles with a double main gear (elongated crankcase of reduced vertical size) and reduction final drives (between the axle shaft and the hub, a pair of cylindrical gears with internal gearing; the direction of rotation of the axle shaft and the hub coincides) were used. On the UAZ-469B car, drive axles with a single main gear were installed (designed on the basis of bridges from the GAZ-69), final drives were absent. The ground clearance of the "civilian" "UAZ" was 220 mm. The drive shafts on the UAZ-469B were slightly increased in length. The total gear ratio of the driving axles (both geared and gearless) was almost the same (for the gearbox, 5.38, and for the gearless, 5.125).

Hubs front axle switchable, which made it possible to slightly reduce fuel consumption on roads with good coverage. The driver unscrewed the protective cap ( the same key was used to adjust the hub bearings), then connect-disconnect with a hexagon on "12" coupling sleeve... Since the 1990s, vehicles have been fitted with quick-release or self-locking clutches.

In 1980, the exterior lighting equipment was changed on cars. Direction indicators at the front and rear have received orange lenses, and direction indicator repeaters have appeared on the side of the hood. At the same time, hydraulic telescopic shock absorbers instead of lever ones were introduced into the suspension design. Since 1983, a model 414 engine with a capacity of 77 hp has been installed on the machine. with. A year later, the cooling system appeared expansion tank and a sealed radiator plug.

UAZ-3151

In 1985 the car was modernized, the gear version, according to the new classification, received the index 3151. The cars appeared:

  • Hydraulic clutch release;
  • Cardan shafts with radial-mechanical bearing seals;
  • New lighting devices (two-section sidelights, three-section rear lights FP-132, side repeaters);
  • Washer windshield with electric drive;
  • Suspended clutch and brake pedals;
  • High reliability drive axles with modified value gear ratio main pair and wheel reducers;
  • Brake system with dual-circuit drive and signaling device;
  • Split safety steering column;
  • More efficient and reliable heater;
  • On the part of the machines, a fully synchronized 4-speed gearbox, vacuum amplifier brakes;
  • The power of the UMZ-417 engine has been increased to 80 hp. with.;
  • The maximum speed of the car has increased to 120 km / h.

SPORT

In 1978 in San Remo Martoletti in UAZ-469 received the Silver Jack award for winning the Italian autocross championship.

WORLD RECORDS

Conventional UAZ-469 set a new world record for capacity passenger car... 32 people can fit inside the SUV at the same time, approximately the same number of passenger seats are accommodated in a regular bus. The total weight of passengers together with the driver was 1900 kg.

UAZ-469 with a full load also drove 10 m, as required by the conditions for establishing a world record. The record was registered by the International Agency of Records and Achievements, as photos and videos, testifying to the establishment of the record, will also be sent to the World Edition of the Guinness Book of Records. Students and teachers of the State School of Circus and Variety Art named after M.N. Rumyantsev took part in the preparation and setting of the record. The previous record belongs to KIA sedan Spectra, which could accommodate 23 people.

  • The people have nicknames "Goat" and "Bobik".
  • On police cars, an all-metal roof was installed, between the rear row of seats and the "stern" side seats there was an iron grill, the back door was locked from the outside with a lock, the window in it was barred.
  • In the fifth volume of the second edition of the "Children's Encyclopedia" (published in 1965), the color insert to page 412 depicts "phaeton UAZ-469 type 4 × 4", although seven years remained before the start of serial production.
  • You can distinguish the "geared" UAZ-469 (UAZ-3151) from the "gearless" UAZ-469B (UAZ-31512) by looking under the car, and from the outside - on the "geared" rear axle, the torque is transmitted to the hub through a conical "cap", on "gearless" - the flange of the axle shaft is visible.
  • Each reducer (and there are four of them) is filled with 300 ml. transmission oil.

Production: Martorelli SrI.

Start of release: 1973 year.

For the first time, citizens of the former Soviet republics learned about the connection of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant with the Italian surname Martorelli in 1975. Then, on the pages of the Soviet press, information appeared about the "469s" participating in the international run across the Sahara, which was organized by the very Martorelli family to attract the attention of other Italians to the outlandish SUVs of the Land of the Soviets.

In addition, UAZs began to be equipped with foreign power units(installed them in Ulyanovsk). In total, there were four models in the Martorelli lineup, of which the UAZ-Explorer with the native gasoline UMZ-451M (2,500 cm3, 75 hp) was considered the most affordable car. The rest are UAZ-Marathon with a Peugeot XD2 diesel engine (2,500 cm3, 76 hp), UAZ-Dakar with a Vittorio Martorelli VM turbodiesel (2,400 cm3, 100 hp), UAZ-Racing with a FIAT gasoline engine (2000 cm3, 112 hp) - were much more expensive.

For 26 years of fruitful cooperation of the enterprising Martorelli brothers with the Ulyanovsk plant in Southern Europe, more than 6.6 thousand modified UAZs were sold, some of which were brought to Russia in the early 90s as foreign-made products.

UAZ-3907 "Jaguar"

Production: UAZ.

Show: 1983 year.

The amphibious vehicle UAZ-3907 "Jaguar", which was awarded a state prize in 1983, based on the model 469, amazed the imagination during tests conducted since 1980. He was able to move on water at a speed of 8-10 km / h, sail with twenty-one people on board (by design, the salon was designed for seven), turn on the water without a water rudder (using the front wheels), move on land at a speed 100 km / h, work at temperatures with a huge interval (from + 45 ° to -47 °), tow a trailer weighing up to 0.75 t ... And despite the increased weight, have excellent cross-country ability due to the flat bottom. With all this, "Jaguar" looked like an ordinary off-road vehicle, and not like a cross between a motor boat and a representative of the wheeled dynasty.

Since 1986, under a separate agreement with the KGB for border guards, the development of a modification with the installation of six pairs of skis has begun, which also showed excellent results during tests. Only the end was sad in this whole story. In 1990, due to the lack of the promised funding, the project was curtailed. In total, 14 unique amphibians were born.

UAZ-31512 TRUCK LLD

Production:"LLD-auto", Moscow.

Start of release: 1994 year.

In 1993, visitors to the Moscow international motor show saw cars that were immediately dubbed "Russian Martorelli". These were UAZ-31512s, trained at the first private car plant in Russia, organized by the Larin brothers and their friends. The level of the work done, as a result of which the Ulyanovsk "cross-country rovers" were noticeably transformed, was at a height, moreover, the bulk of all the materials used were of domestic production.

However, more interest was attracted by the model of the same company, which was presented a year later at the same place. We are talking about a four-seater pickup truck UAZ-31512 TRUCK LLD. Its creators had to do the following: increase the base of a conventional UAZ by 650 mm, increase in the rear side panels, add one root sheet to the packages of rear springs, and make the rear wall of the cab vertical (made of plastic).

The result is an attractive pickup truck with a 2 + 2 landing formula (as indicated by the manufacturer) and a cargo platform 1.7 meters long, capable of accommodating 2.5 cubic meters of cargo. Unfortunately, everything related to the brakes, components and assemblies of the chassis was not changed or replaced with a more suitable one, although it was possible. The reason for such a strange step was the high cost of cars due to the fact that initially UAZs were purchased not at the enterprise in Ulyanovsk itself, but from ordinary dealers who increased the price well.

During the peak period (1994-1995), the LLD-auto enterprise produced up to 40 cars a month, but in the second half of the 90s, the demand for modified UAZs began to fall sharply, and ultimately the first private car plant ceased to exist.

ShZSA-3939

Manufacturer: JSC "ShZSA", Shumerlya (Chuvashia).

Start of release: 1994 year.

With the transition to a market economy, the newly formed states were swept by a wave of crime. Organized gangsters were haunted by the cash flows of individuals, companies and enterprises. Raids have become more frequent on places where a large amount of cash has accumulated at a certain time. But attacks on collectors, who at that time still had ordinary cars, were especially popular. This situation could not last long - specialized vehicles equipped with armor were required.

The first attempt to create an armored car on their own carried out by the Shumerlinsky plant of special vehicles, presenting the model 3939 to the public. The basis for the armored car was the UAZ 31512, which together with the "plant of corps" made clothes designed to protect valuable contents. The body was redrawn from start to finish; only the bevel of the lower part on the driver's door makes it related to the UAZ.

Contrary to the beliefs of many, only the cargo-passenger compartment was made of high-strength armor plate in ShZSA-3939, and not the entire car. The hood stylized under the armor was made in order to scare away lovers of easy money from a distance.

There is little information about ShZSA-3939. It is known that production continued in the second half of the nineties, most of the produced cars have already gone out of use and are "idle" around the yards. Individual copies were converted for military operations for military operations in Chechnya, and anyone can see the armored car with their own eyes - it stands as a monument in front of the building of the Rosinkas association in Volgograd.

US - UAZ 469 "Huntsman"

Production: NAMI, Moscow.

Show: 1998 year.

What could be more passable than a UAZ? Only UAZ on tires low pressure! After all, as you know, large and soft wheels provide the maximum area of adhesion to the surface. "Jaeger" is one of the many versions of the UAZ with such a chassis.

Its design was based on the serial UAZ 469 with enlarged wheel arches, additional sills and gear tires with ultra-low pressure produced by NPF TREKOL, slightly modified in NAMI. The Ulyanovsk SUV was chosen for the role of the main donor for a reason.

Its chassis design required the least rework, which saves time and money. A year later, the all-terrain vehicle, prepared for driving on soft ground, wetlands, virgin snow, as well as overcoming water obstacles by swimming, was shown to the public. A year later, NPF TREKOL presented an independent, but very similar development in this area - TREKOL 39041, which is also based on a serial UAZ. The production of the car continues to this day.

UAZ-3159 "Bars"

Production: UAZ.

Start of release: 1999 year.

"Land Rover has become expensive and prestigious, Gelenevagen too. And why is the UAZ worse?" - thought at the plant and made a long-wheelbase modification of the UAZ-3153. A little later, its "luxury" modification, "Bars", appeared.

In order to make a competitive car out of the new model, the stretched body was endowed with plastic linings, footboards were installed under the thresholds, the vents were made sliding, the rear door was hinged, a sunroof was cut into the roof ... and these are only visible changes.

A new generation 16-valve engine - ZMZ-409 with electronic fuel injection was installed under the hood. Through the application reducer axles, combined with the front spring and rear small leaf spring suspensions, it was possible to increase by 80 mm ground clearance and 165 mm track. In addition, the UAZ was equipped with a power steering and five-speed gearbox gear.

The only thing that spoiled the whole thing was the interior, which, despite attempts to improve it, remained terrible (hard molded plastic, fabric upholstery of door panels, etc.). In addition, parts were constantly falling off. It did not work to grow "Gelik" out of UAZ. In the nine years that Bars was in production program Ulyanovsk plant, only 10 thousand long wheelbase specimens found their owners.

UAZ-3150 "Shalun"

Production: UAZ.

Show: 1999 year.

Although "Naughty" did not become a serial, he managed to light up in one of the unofficial modifications to the game GTA: San Andreas

If there is a long wheelbase version, then there must be a short wheelbase! If you are trying to please customers who are thirsty for solidity, then you can try to "reach out" to young people ... Obviously, this logic was guided at UAZ.

"Shalun" is an open "sports and entertainment" version of the UAZ-31512 with a base reduced by 380 mm, equipped with powerful chrome-plated safety arches, an easily removable awning and four comfortable seats. It was proposed to install two engines under its hood: UMZ-4213.10 (2.9 liters) and ZMZ-409 (2.7 liters), capable of giving the car good dynamics (compared to serial models).

However, getting rid of extra centimeters and kilograms had a positive effect not only on maximum speed and acceleration time, as a result of these changes, the SUV has improved maneuverability and cross-country ability. Along with the civilian version, an army version was presented, the bottom and engine of which were covered with armor plates.

Alas, at the time of the premiere, the consumer market was not ready for the emergence of a domestic competitor. American Jeep Wrangler, which, in principle, is not very popular in Russia. In total, six copies of the shortened open-top UAZ were collected, five of which were sold.

Scorpio-1

Production: Corporation "Protection".

Start of release: 2003 year.

The fact that the UAZ 469 was developed first of all for the army was never a secret. For many years, this car was the main commander's transport on the territory of the USSR, and then the entire post-Soviet space. To say that the car is outdated is to say nothing.

However, making major design changes on a production scale is not easy - it takes years and a lot of investment. As a result, smaller enterprises were in a hurry, including the Zashchita corporation with its Scorpion-1 project. Taking a quick glance at their car, it is not possible to see something strange - an ordinary UAZ 31512, perhaps a three-door. And looking closely ...

In order to solve the problem of lack of free space, the body of the SUV was expanded by cutting along and welding a 270 mm insert. We worked on the "Barsovskie bridges" in order to increase the track. Got rid of rear doors but widened the front ones. The result is a unique car that surpasses the serial UAZ in terms of the possibility of additional equipment (hidden booking, installation of large-caliber rifle automatic guns) without loss of space for personnel.

It is difficult to verify the veracity of this, although the likelihood that such a test could have taken place and that the UAZ showed good results still exists. Even so, the track was and will remain more efficient than any wheel (except low pressure wheels) in tough climates and conditions.

Associate professor of the Department of Automobiles and Tractors of the Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University A. Anikin, who in 2003 created the Ukhtysh snow and swamp-going vehicle on a caterpillar track, was well aware of this.

The design is a sealed steel body with UAZ units, on which a body was installed, cut along just below the fracture line of the body panels. The salon visually remained unchanged with the exception of the horned steering wheel in place of the steering wheel.

The Ukhtysh did not become a mass production, but the design was generally recognized as very successful and successful, and for several more years the car was assembled at the All-Terrain Vehicle Plant and sold at a price of 1 million rubles.

The result was an all-terrain vehicle for the transfer of personnel, whose upper component not only adorned the most massive Soviet all-wheel drive truck, but also allowed the people sitting inside to feel much more comfortable than in the side body.

In April 2010, the company decided to revive the production of the legendary "UAZ" by releasing a limited batch of the UAZ-469 model, timed to coincide with the 65th anniversary of the Victory. For the entire production period since 1972, the UAZ-469 has established itself as a reliable SUV that can be operated in almost any conditions.

One of the facts noted in the history of UAZ: in August 1974, three completely standard (without winches and traction control chains) UAZ-469 vehicles during a test run reached the glacier on Mount Elbrus at an altitude of 4200 meters. It can be recalled that this car is the heir to the famous GAZ-69 model, previously produced by the Gorky Automobile Plant from 1952 to 1972, after which the production of the already updated model UAZ-469 was transferred to Ulyanovsk. In 1985, after modernization, the SUV received the index 3151, under which it was produced until 2003, when production was suspended due to the appearance of an improved UAZ Hunter model. Actually, the revived 469 is just created on the basis of Hunter and uses his main developments - spring front suspension, disc brakes, power steering, etc.

UAZ-469 is an SUV with a rather rare body type, namely a 4-door phaeton with a removable canvas, plastic or metal roof, as well as with fixed, non-descending door windows. Since this SUV was originally created for the military, therefore, the interior of the cabin does not differ in comfort. However, compared to the previous model, the new UAZ-469 instead of flat and uncomfortable seats has quite comfortable chairs, a modified instrument panel with more modern sensors and an electronic odometer with an LCD display. In all other respects, the car remained faithful to the Spartan principles - the old kingdom of metal and extreme utilitarianism for the sake of maximizing the cost of the model. The body of the UAZ-469 is made of thick metal, therefore it resists corrosion well, but traditionally there is weak spots: interior door pockets, where water gets in during rain, and front and rear fenders, where moisture and dirt constantly accumulate.

Under the hood of the classic UAZ 469 was a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, the power of which was only 75 hp. As for the limited edition UAZ-469 of the 2010 model, these cars were equipped with injection engine ZMZ-409 with a capacity of 112 hp This engine has modified traction characteristics due to the displacement of the maximum torque (208 Nm) in the zone of more low revs(3000) for better traction. The car boasts a relatively low (by the standards of the previous UAZ) fuel consumption - it is 10.6 liters per 100 km.

Among other things, changes have been made to the design that increase comfort: a spring-loaded front suspension, a power steering (in a complete set with a metal roof). The car has split bridges "Timken", which received steering knuckles from bridges "Spicer"; metal bumpers, complemented by plastic "fangs". Of course, it is necessary to note the invariable feature of this real SUV - the body of the UAZ-469 is mounted on a powerful and torsionally rigid spar frame with cross members. This provides the vehicle with maximum cross-country ability and durability in operation.

Compared with the legendary predecessor, the new UAZ-469 has become better in terms of safety. First, it uses front disc brakes inherited from the "Hunter", which significantly improved the braking dynamics. In addition, seat belts are standardly installed in the car, and the presence of a power steering is another contribution to the safety piggy bank, since it provides more comfortable and easy driving, and in the event of damage to the tires of the front wheels, the power steering helps to keep the steering wheel in the trajectory set by the driver.

As stated by the management of the UAZ sales department, the decision to resume production of this model was dictated by the requests of corporate buyers who needed budget car capable of operating in truly tough off-road weather conditions to which none of the vehicles on the market are technologically adapted. As a result, an SUV was developed and offered, which turned out to be 23% cheaper than the products existing at that time in the UAZ line. This has become an excellent gift for true connoisseurs of a domestic SUV, who are ready to close their eyes to many of the inherent disadvantages of the model for the sake of low cost.

UAZ 469 and its improved modifications - a line of SUVs, rightfully included in the list best cars... It has such a high position for a reason, since initially this car was conceived as a military equipment.

It was the UAZ 469 that from the 70s of the XX century took the position of the main command vehicle in the Soviet Union, as well as in the countries of the Warsaw Pact. Really, design features allow him to overcome various obstacles, for example, rough terrain of a swampy type with a rut depth of up to 1 meter. In this case, the car has excellent performance passenger and carrying capacity, allowing large-scale transportation on it.

The creation of an all-terrain vehicle with high cross-country ability became possible thanks to the implementation harmonious combination powerful engine, transmission and high ground clearance based on all-wheel drive... The need for the appearance of such a model was caused by the shortcomings of the GAZ-69 car produced at that time.

It is worth noting separately the work on low-quality gasoline, which is important for a military off-road vehicle.

A brief history of the creation of an SUV

The first UAZ-469 prototype was produced back in 1960. This test model, originally billed as an army SUV, had several distinctive features: wheel reduction gears on axles designed to increase flotation, link suspension and torsion bars. The idea of a torsion bar suspension failed at the very beginning of testing: the car sagged a lot. The engineers had to replace the torsion bars with traditional springs. However, the wheel reducers did not have to be eliminated, and this innovation took root perfectly in the new model.

The new UAZ 469 successfully passed the necessary state tests in 1964, thereby obtaining approval for production. In 1972, the production of the model was put on the assembly line.

In 1985, as a result of modernization, the car was renamed into UAZ-3151 in accordance with the existing industry system.

For decades reliable model was used not only by the military, but by a wide variety of industries. Only in 2011, the car left the catalog of models produced by the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plants forever, giving way to more modern production.

SUV design

The UAZ-469 clutch is dry, single-disk, frictional. It is necessary in order to ensure smooth connection and disconnection. crankshaft to the vehicle suspension when changing the driving mode and when the vehicle is stopped. The first versions had a clutch without a hydraulic booster, later - with hydraulic drive. Steering UAZ-469 includes a steering gear and a gearbox with a steering column and a steering wheel.

UAZ 469 is equipped with a reliable and simple engine... Basically, this role is performed by the inline four-cylinder UMZ-417 with a volume of 2.5 liters and its various modifications. For example, civilian vehicles are usually equipped with UMZ-4178, while military vehicles are equipped with UMZ-4179. The latter is modified by a distributor sensor, shielded high-voltage wiring and an additional place for a motor heater.

UAZ-469 is equipped with a four-stage mechanical box gear shifting. There are inertial-type synchronizers attached to the UAZ 469 gearbox (although they were initially absent), which neutralize noise and rumble during switching, synchronizing the speed of the connecting teeth. Also, the box allows the car to move in reverse.

The UAZ-469 has two independent braking systems: working and parking. At the beginning of the car's production, the brakes were rather unreliable; in the late 80s brake system improved and converted into a double-circuit.

The distribution of the car is two-stage and is inseparable from the UAZ 469 checkpoint, because it does not have an intermediate cardan shaft... She deals with the distribution of torque between the drive mechanisms.

Many UAZ vehicles are used contactless systems ignition, including positive qualities which reduce fuel consumption, prevent carbon formation, reduce the toxicity of exhaust gases and facilitate engine starting in winter conditions... Moreover, such ignition systems are more reliable and stable in operation and require much less maintenance, since, due to the fact that the breaker has no moving contacts, there is no need for their systematic cleaning and gap adjustment.

SUV parameters

The total number of seats is 7. The body with a capacity of 5 people is equipped with a tarpaulin awning with removable arches. The UAZ-469 has four doors, but the tailgate, intended for loading luggage, is sometimes called the fifth. Here, a couple of passengers are able to sit in reclining seats. The side doors are equipped with removable glazed metal extensions.

The windshield frame can be folded back onto the bonnet, making camouflage and movement of the vehicle much easier on air or water transport.

In the economic aspect, the advantage of a car is the use of inexpensive fuel - low-octane gasoline A-72 or A-76 is suitable for an SUV. The car is equipped with two fuel tanks with a capacity of 39 liters each. Gasoline consumption at a speed of 90 km / h is about 16 liters per 100 km.

In normal mode, the UAZ-469 is capable of moving seven people together with a centner of luggage, or two, together with 600 kg. It is also possible to move a trailer, which can weigh up to 850 kg.

This SUV is impressive in size. In fact, he even holds the world record for passenger car capacity: in June 2010, he managed to accommodate 32 people in his body and then move 10 meters, which was officially recorded by the International Agency of Records and Achievements.

Export of off-road vehicle UAZ 469

The export of the SUV was carried out on a large scale - orders were received from dozens of countries in Asian, African and South American territories. On the territory of Italy, there were even modifications of an SUV with gasoline engine Fiat and with diesel engines Peugeot and VM.

Despite the cessation of production of the model, it remains very popular, thanks to which it is not difficult to find working parts for it in good condition.

Earlier in 1985, "UAZs" were rarely owned by motorists - they could either be received as a reward for special merit, or they could be bought from government services written off copies. As SUVs became more affordable, people living in areas with bad roads(or even their absence) were able to fully appreciate the unpretentiousness, extreme cross-country ability and other advantages of this Soviet car.

As already mentioned, the production of the car ended in 2003, this model with minor changes was released in 2010 in a limited edition of 5,000 copies. The issue was intended for corporate clients, but also provided a certain number of motorists with a unique chance to get a new UAZ-469. It is currently completed.

In December 1972, the UAZ automobile plant produced its first UAZ-469 car, which replaced the GAZ-69 SUV, which was already outdated by that time, on the assembly line. The development of the SUV took 14 years. The first running sample under the UAZ-460 index was built back in 1958, and it was with him that the history of the famous UAZ-469 SUV began.

In the press, the image of the UAZ-469 appeared back in 1965(in the "Children's Encyclopedia"), already in the form in which it began to be produced, but before the launch of the SUV in production it was still far away.

It was decided that the car will be produced in two versions: a simplified civil and army with wheel reducers and increased ground clearance. The GAZ-21 "Volga", known for its reliability and safety margin, was largely used as an aggregate base for the new car. Initially, a civilian version was adopted for production (under the designation UAZ-469B), since the army was still clarifying what it wants from the future car.

Army SUVs UAZ-469 left the assembly line later, in 1973, in the same year they were tested on Elbrus. Three off-road vehicles UAZ-469 standard configuration, without winches and traction control chains, in less than 40 minutes climbed to an altitude of 4200 meters, and then descended into the valley.

In the armed forces, the UAZ-469 was used to deliver command personnel from majors to colonels, but this was not limited to its scope. There was a modification of an off-road vehicle equipped with a road induction mine detector (DIM), with the help of which the car perfectly performed the functions of a sapper.

There is a curious world record set by the UAZ-469 SUV, it simultaneously accommodated 32 passengers in its cabin, the total weight of which, together with the driver, was almost 2 tons (1900 kg) and drove 10 meters.

UAZ-469 and its modifications were assembled not only in the former USSR, but also in Germany, Vietnam, Cuba and even in the USA. In 1985, the car was discontinued, or rather, it was modernized and the index was changed to a new four-digit, army UAZ-469 received the UAZ-3151 index and the civil UAZ-469B became known as UAZ-31512... In 2010, the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant for the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War produced a limited batch (5000 copies) of SUVs under the UAZ-469 index, after which production was stopped again.

Design and construction

The body of the off-road vehicle UAZ-469 open 4-door, 5-seater, with a removable tarpaulin awning mounted on a strong spar frame (on the GAZ-69, the frame was very flimsy). The arches of the awning are removable, the windshield, together with the frame, leans back onto the hood, like on the GAZ-69. The rear fifth door, on which the spare wheel is fixed, serves for loading luggage.

The car received an in-line, 4-cylinder UMZ-451MI engine that ran on both 72nd and 76th gasoline, its volume was 2445 cm 3, and the power was 75 Horse power(Exactly the same engine was installed on the UAZ-460B prototype). The gearbox, unlike the prototype UAZ-460, is mechanical 4-speed with synchronizers in 3rd and 4th gear. Two-stage transfer case rigidly attached to the checkpoint.

The civilian model UAZ-469B received a ground clearance of 220 mm, while the military off-road vehicle UAZ-469 boasted a ground clearance of 300 mm. It was possible to increase the ground clearance thanks to the drive axles with a double main gear with lowering final (wheel) gearboxes; on the civilian model, the driving axles were with a single main gear, and there were no final drives. The military model did not install door locks, because why, they appeared only after the UAZ-469 was modernized and the index changed in 1985.

For a slight reduction in fuel consumption on roads with good coverage, the front axle hubs were made disengaged. To disconnect, it was necessary to remove the protective cap and turn off the coupling with a hexagon to "12".

The interior of the UAZ 469 SUV is like in a tank - no frills: flat and uncomfortable seats, a rubber mat under the feet, metal painted in body color. On the instrument panel on the left there is a speedometer, in the scale of which there is a control lamp high beam, to the right of it, in order, there is an ammeter, an oil pressure gauge, a coolant temperature gauge and a fuel level gauge. There are also warning lamps for overheating of the coolant, emergency drop in oil pressure, a direction indicator lamp. On the right side of the panel, on the passenger side, there is a holding handle (handrail).

Modifications

An army off-road vehicle with a two-stage main transmission, side (wheel) gearboxes and a ground clearance increased to 300 mm. This version was produced until 1985 after the car was modernized and assigned a new four-digit UAZ-3151 index.

Civilian model with single-stage main drive without wheel reduction gears, ground clearance 220 mm. Like the army version, it was produced until 1985, after which it received a new UAZ-31512 index.

Civilian model with shielded electrical equipment.

Medical SUV, equipped with places for medical staff and stretchers. Like previous models, it was produced until 1985, after which it began to be called UAZ-3152.

Radiation-chemical reconnaissance vehicle.

UAZ-469 "DIM"

Off-road vehicle equipped with a road induction mine detector (DIM)

UAZ-3907 "Jaguar"

Not a serial amphibious vehicle based on the UAZ-469. The design of the Jaguar began in 1976, and by 1989, 14 prototypes had been made. The car was successfully tested, in 1991 preparations for the production of the car were discontinued due to a lack of orders.

The car is a displacement body with two hermetically closed doors. Two propellers are installed under the floor of the body in front of the rear axle. The front wheels act as a rudder in the water.
