Designed specifically for the Russian market. And at the Moscow Motor Show 2014 the premiere of a hatchback based on it, which was named mi-DO, took place.

As in the case of the sedan, the new Datsun mi-DO 2019 (photo and price) is based on the upgraded platform from the car. But if outwardly the four-door looks more like Grant, standing out with an impressive trunk, then the five-door received a body like that of the Kalina hatchback.

Configurations and prices Datsun mi-DO 2019

MT5 - mechanics 5-speed, AT4 - automatic 4-speed.

At the front, the 2019 Datsun MiDo received a proprietary hexagonal radiator grill, which the company calls "D-cut grill", but the shape of the head optics is somewhat different from those installed on the sedan. And at the back, the car can be distinguished from Kalina by modified headlights and a slightly retouched trunk lid.

Compared to the sedan, the overall length of the Datsun mi-DO has been reduced from 4,337 to 3,950 millimeters, while the width (1,700), height (1,500) and wheelbase (2,476) remain the same.

The hatchback's interior design copies the four-door, and under the hood there is the same 1.6-liter eight-valve gasoline engine with a capacity of 87 hp, paired with a five-speed mechanical box gear. But as an option, the Jatco four-band automatic machine was immediately available, which was not originally offered on-DO.

In the fall of the seventeenth year, the new Datsun Mi Do acquired a 106-strong version of the 1.6 engine (an additional payment of 15,000 rubles for it). At first, you can buy a hatchback with such an engine only in conjunction with a manual transmission, but later they promise to start equipping it with an automatic transmission.

Acceptance of orders for the new Datsun mi-DO in Russia started on February 4, 2015, today the price range for the five-door varies from 536,000 to 673,000 rubles. Thus, the basic version was 73,400 rubles. more expensive than Kalina. But the equipment of the MI-DO is richer - already in the initial version there are power steering, front airbags, electric and heated side mirrors, an onboard computer and heated front seats.

Climate control and a multimedia system with USB port, SD card slot, Bluetooth and four speakers are offered for an extra charge. The top version of Datsun mi-DO 2019 provides for the presence of foglights, light and rain sensors, power windows for all doors, an audio system and 15-inch light-alloy wheel disks.

Another model of the new budget brand from Japan, Datsun, will soon appear in the Russian open spaces. New datsun mi do in the back of a hatchback one more affordable car with an interesting appearance. If the first model of the Datsun on-DO sedan is aimed at conquering regions, then the hatchback is aimed at urban residents.

The new affordable sedan there is not even an automatic gearbox, but for hatchback datsun mi do automatic transmission is provided. The car, like its closest relative, is built on the Lada Kalina platform. Accordingly, in technical terms, the Russian-Japanese project will be similar.

The very idea of using the Lada platform in their cars can play a cruel joke with Datsun. The car will not be perceived as Japanese, especially since this brand is not very familiar to our customers. Will choose more cheap Lada or perceive Datsun as a modernized modification of Kalina / Granta. That is, the same Lada, but with a different appearance and better soundproofing and comfort. There is too little Japanese in the car, but for that much from the long-suffering Lada. Soon, sales of Datsun cars will show how successful the development strategy has been chosen by the leaders of the Russian division of Datsun.

Externally Datsun mi-DO similar to both Kalina, especially from the side, and the front Datsun sedan. Datsun designers did not become wise, they took our Lada as a basis, installed optics in front, bumper and radiator grill from the on-DO model, and put original optics in the back, in the end it turned out well. We look photo of hatchback Datsun mi Do.

If for fate budget sedan on-DO you can be calm, what are the market prospects for the mi-DO hatchback? Apparently, marketers are targeting urban youth who do not need to carry their belongings to the country. Actually, do not forget about the competition from the same Kalina 2. The presence of the machine will help to find their customers, but are buyers in this very budgetary segment ready to overpay for the still little-known brand Datsun !?

Datsun mi-DO belongs to the class of compact cars. Despite its modest overall dimensions, the body looks very harmonious and proportional.

dimensions

The proper comfort in the passenger compartment is ensured by the relatively large wheelbase for its class. The Datsun developers have perfectly prepared mi-DO for use on poor-quality roads. Excellent cross-country ability in and outside the city is ensured by ground clearance and a chassis that is specially adjusted for use in poorly paved areas.

Trunk

Datsun mi-DO has a practical trunk and holds 240 liters. With the seats folded down, the loading space will be noticeably increased by about three times. Well arranged backdoor allows you to load the car "to the eyeballs". The rear seat backs can be folded down to gain some extra space.

A full-size spare tire can be placed under the boot floor.

Engine

Under the hood of the mi-DO hatchback there is a gasoline engine, which is installed in on-DO and Lada models. The eight-valve unit has a displacement of 1.6 liters (1596 cm3). At 5100 rpm, the maximum potential of the motor reaches 87 Horse power, which is considered a good parameter in the technical characteristics of this class. The engine meets the established environmental standards.

Transmission

The car is equipped with a manual transmission with five steps or an automatic with four to choose from. The manual transmission allows the car to accelerate to one hundred kilometers per hour in 12.2 seconds, while the automatic transmission will take about 14 seconds. The maximum speed of the mechanized box reaches 168 km / h, while for the automatic transmission it is 161 km / h. For a number of characteristics, an automatic transmission is inferior to a mechanized one.

Fuel consumption

In a combined cycle with a manual transmission for 100 kilometers, a five-door hatchback consumes about 7 liters of fuel, with an automatic transmission, consumption will be reduced to 0.7. In the city, an automatic machine consumes one and a half liters of fuel more than a mechanic (10.4 liters).

Suspension

Datsun mi-DO is equipped with front-wheel drive, which he inherited from the second generation Lada Kalina. The difference is that the "Japanese" received an upgraded suspension, which is being debugged by specialists from Nissan and Renault.

The front wheels are attached to the body by McPherson struts, which have long been a classic. The rear wheels use a semi-independent transmission beam. The Datsun mi-DO hatchback is equipped with gas shock absorbers. The balanced suspension elements make the vehicle reliable and safe on the road.

Steering and braking system

All modifications of the Datsun mi-DO car are equipped with an electric power steering, front disc and rear drum brakes (in budget trim levels, ABS and EBD are used, and in maximum trim levels, BAS is additionally used).

Outcomes

Compact dimensions, decent technical characteristics and reasonable price make the Russian-Japanese Datsun mi-DO interesting for many motorists.

Among the abundance of cars at the stands of the Moscow motor show MIAS-2014, the Datsun mi-DO hatchback attracted special attention of Russian visitors. This model is unique, because there has never been a case in the history of the automotive industry that a Japanese car was built on the basis of a Russian passenger car. And the five-door mi-DO is just such a unique event that breaks the foundations, because the brainchild Japanese company Nissan is designed on the basis of the famous development of Togliatti engineers model "".

What is the history of Datsun and what is the connection with Nissan?

The meticulous reader may wonder what Nissan has to do with it, if we are talking about a car under the name Datsun Mi-Do. But the connection here is direct and most immediate, because, in fact, in the world of automotive industry "first there was a word" Datsun and only then the company was absorbed, reorganized and renamed Nissan. And now a year and a half ago, after two decades of oblivion, the Japanese decided to revive the old brand in order to establish production under this name. inexpensive cars for growing markets such as Indian, South African and our Russian with Ukrainian. And since now Nissan, together with Renault, actually owns our VAZ, then the production of cars under Datsun brand it was decided to open it in the Russian Federation.

Name Datsun mi-DO

The Japanese love imagery and a very specific meaning hidden in unusual poetic constructions. Calling the new hatchback the verbal design of mi-DO, the manufacturers wanted to emphasize the international features of the unusual Russian-Japanese car. The word DO in Japanese means "path", "movement" or "striving for something", and the Mi particle is used as an analogue of sound english word me, which can be translated as "mine". As a result, the new hatch has a pretentious name "my way" or "my tool for achieving something."

The appearance of the new hatchback mi-DO

A little earlier, under this revived brand, the on-DO sedan was presented, which was also created on the basis of a small car, which at one time received flattering characteristics from the lips of Putin himself. Therefore, examining the exterior of the new Japanese car, most viewers will compare mi-DO with Kalina and with the aforementioned sedan, trying to catch the resemblance or rejoice in the differences.

The new five-door Datsun mi-DO is, to be honest, somewhat similar to "Kalina" in the body version of the hatchback. This is especially noticeable when viewed in profile, but to the credit of the Japanese, it must be admitted that they very effectively fought the manifestation of family ties in their offspring with the Russian maternal model. The profile was tweaked with body-colored moldings and alloy wheels. When viewed from the front, the similarity is completely minimal, because the "Japanese" has a completely different "front end". There is a more modern bumper and optics of a fashionable form and an unusual cut of the radiator grille. These elements are similar to the counterparts installed on the "brother" named on-DO, but it cannot be said that the models are visual twins. Well, of course, the rear of the hatch is not at all like the rear of the sedan, and the Mi-Do is as much as 620 mm shorter than the four-door Datsun.

The exterior of the Japanese hatch looks much more modern than the exterior of the ever-memorable Kalina. This is a completely modern and respectable car with a fairly dynamic look. The compactness of the car's features makes it a clear contender for the title of "master of the city", and the presence of fashionable details may well allow the model to take its rightful place in the category of "youth cars".

If in external appearance there are differences between the on-DO sedan and the mi-DO hatchback, then the manufacturer decided to use full identity in the decoration of the interior space. The interior of the salon is laconic with a fair amount of practicality. The front panel is compact enough, and the plastic used does not make it boring for a too cheap look. By the way, the task of defeating the interior creaks, which were a distinctive feature of all VAZ and Kalina models, including, was completed by engineers from Datsun. They paid a lot of attention to the anti-noise preparation of the cabin, which ultimately bore fruit - the driver and passengers will only remotely hear the noise of the road and the engine.

Pictured is the trunk of a car

The front row seats are comfortable enough, and the second row can easily accommodate three adults. Backrests rear seats can be folded 60 to 40, allowing bulky items to be stored in the luggage compartment. The trunk is not very large (less than 240 liters), but since we are not talking about an SUV, the owner is unlikely to carry large amounts of luggage.

Price and configuration

The hatchback is slated for sale in the first decade of 2015 and it has already been announced that it will be available in three trim levels: Access, Trust and Dream. The cost of each of them has not yet been named, but dealers say that, most likely, the price of the Datsun mi-DO will be about the same as that of the On-Do sedan, which is sold in the Russian Federation, starting from 329 and ending with 445 thousand rubles ... Recall that Kalina is sold in Russia from 327,500 rubles.

It has long been no secret to anyone that budget cars produced in Togliatti and offered in the Russian Federation under the Japanese brand Datsun are nothing more than substantially revised Lada. And there is nothing Japanese here, perhaps, except for the approach to design - the very one that makes the owners of Granta and Kalina literally turn their necks at the sight of new AvtoVAZ products and wonder if they have chosen? It is definitely worth pondering, because looking at the Datsun mi-DO hatchback in profile, you will certainly recognize Kalina, and upon closer inspection you realize that this is something new. Read on to learn more about what the mi-DO five-door is and how interesting it is!

Design

Enrolled in 2015 at Russian market following the on-DO sedan, the mi-DO hatchback was primarily remarkable not only because of the different body type, but also due to the presence automatic transmission Jatco. Now Jatco automatic transmission a four-door is also equipped, but what curious then can a model with a flat "stern" offer? A more predatory look, at least, which is obvious if you look at the official photos of the car.

As with the on-DO, the exterior of the five-door was developed at the Nissan Design Center in Japan, under the direction of Koji Nagano. The efforts of the team from the Land of the Rising Sun have borne fruit: mi-DO received a controversial, but unambiguously recognizable design, which cannot be confused with anything. Firstly, the hatch was equipped with the original front bumper, and secondly, it was equipped with headlights with fashionable lenses - not the same as those of the sedan. In addition, the car has a massive hexagonal grille with chrome edging, made in the form of a honeycomb, large informative rear-view mirrors and round "fog lights" in wide recesses. From the side, the model strongly resembles Kalina, but from the back it is already something else. In the "stern" part of the body, attention is drawn to very nice vertical lamps and a large trunk lid, which hides a modest volume of cargo space - only 240 liters. with the rear seats folded out.

Design

Mi-DO is based on a platform from Lada Kalina and Granta, with MacPherson struts in the front and a twist beam in the back. Considering that at the beginning of 2014, Kalina acquired an improved suspension, which Renault-Nissan specialists worked on, the result of its refinement is now being presented as one of the advantages of Datsun mi-DO. To improve handling, Nissan engineers carried out work on installing gas-filled shock absorbers, changing the spring settings, increasing the stiffness and diameter of the stabilizers. lateral stability and an increase in ground clearance by 14 mm - up to 174 mm (at full load, the clearance is 160-165 mm). The braking system is equipped with a new vacuum booster, and the gearless EUR received the original settings.

Adaptation to Russian conditions

Thanks to the 174mm ground clearance, the hatchback copes well with most obstacles on Russian roads. In order to survive the harsh Russian winter, it already has heated front seats and outside mirrors in its "base", and a heated windshield is added to the top-end configuration. To adapt to our realities, the Nissan also worked on vibration and noise isolation. The motor is calibrated to increase stability by Idling... To optimize exhaust system its rear attachment point "moved" to the spar and the original flexible bellows is used. In addition, the insulation of the engine shield, wheel arches, floor, hood and luggage compartment has been revised. To improve the "Shumkov", seals for doorways, sills and glass were re-laid. For manual transmission with cable drive, tooth profiles have been changed main pair, 2nd and reverse gears.

Comfort

The mi-DO doors open wide, allowing passengers to enter the cabin comfortably. The salon is not the most spacious, but there is enough space for 5 people, and there is no need to complain about a particular lack of space above your head. The rear sofa is quite comfortable, as are the front seats, which boast a smoothly adjustable backrest. The seating and interior design is predominantly dark, with the only bright spot being the small blue Datsun logo on the huge plastic 3-spoke steering wheel. Wheel adjustable only in height. The steering wheel clearly lacks a leather cover, and the hard plastic on the dashboard is not very pleasant to the touch.

The center console flaunts a modest-sized monochrome display of the media system with a scattering of buttons on the sides (in the top-end version, a seven-inch touchscreen is required). Above it there are simple ventilation deflectors, and below it is a climate control unit with three round-shaped regulators. The driver has a USB input for connection mobile devices, a voluminous "glove compartment", cup holders and an uncomplicated instrument panel in the form of two analog "wells" of the speedometer and tachometer with an information screen in the middle.

The standard equipment of the hatchback includes only two airbags - for the driver and front passenger. In addition, the basic version has an anti-lock brake system(ABS), emergency brake booster (BAS) and brake force distribution (EBD). Side airbags, electronic stability control (ESC) and rear parking sensors are provided only in the top-end version.

In pre-top configurations, "multimedia" is available with a monochrome screen, 4 speakers, a USB connector for connecting gadgets, an SD card slot, Bluetooth and Handsfree. The most expensive version has an infotainment complex with a seven-inch color touchscreen and standard navigation. The sound quality is average, the image is "four".

Datsun Mi-Do Specifications

In the engine compartment of the mi-DO there is a 4-cylinder petrol "eight-valve" VAZ-11186 with a volume of 1596 cm3, producing 87 hp. and 140 Newton meters of peak torque - we are talking about an improved VAZ-11183 engine (82 hp), which is installed on the Granta and the base Datsun on-DO. 87 h.p. provided by a 39% lightweight connecting rod and piston group. The engine complies with the Euro-4 eco-standard and is combined with a five-speed "mechanics" or with a 4-speed automatic transmission from the Japanese company Jatco (a subsidiary of Nissan). The four-speed automatic transmission with the JF414E index was presented by Jatco in Japan on August 30, 2010. The drivetrain was designed specifically for small front-wheel drive models offered in emerging markets, so it's simple yet unkillable. The previous "automatic" FF4AT, by the way, became a bestseller - over 11 million copies were sold all over the world.
