For the first time, visitors to the Moscow Motor Show will be able to get acquainted with the new domestic car brand Aurus, also known as Project Cortege. At MIAS-2018, two versions of the Aurus Senat model created by NAMI specialists will be presented - a standard sedan and a long-wheelbase "presidential" limousine.

A new Chinese brand will appear in Russia: the GAC Motor company from Guangzhou will officially announce this at the Moscow Motor Show. At MIAS 2018, GAC Motor (Stand C203, Hall 14, Pavilion 3) will showcase a wide range of crossovers - from the all-electric GE3 to the large 7-seat GS8.

Also, the Chinese automaker will bring a GM8 minivan and a GA8 sedan to Moscow. In addition, a presentation of the GA3S and GS5S models, which have already received a certificate from the Customs Union and will soon begin to be sold in Russia, will take place at the show.

Another newcomer from the Middle Kingdom is JAC. Visitors to the Moscow Motor Show will be among the first to get acquainted with two models of this brand, the S3 and S5 crossovers. Both cars are planned to be sold in Russia.

Within the framework of the Mobilistics exposition, Jaguar will show its first electric car in Russia for the first time - the I-Pace crossover. The model is equipped with two electric motors with a total capacity of 400 hp. and a block of 432 lithium-ion batteries, which provides a range of up to 480 km. With a 100 kW fast charging station, an empty battery replenishes 80% of its charge in 40 minutes. If you connect the I-Pace to a home outlet, then at a point power of 7 kW, it will take all night to charge the batteries.

The exhibition will include the Russian premiere of the new Geely crossover, which is now known as the SX11, and the presentation of the GE hybrid sedan. The crossover is based on the BMA (B-segment Modular Architecture) modular platform, which will be used for other Geely vehicles. The SX11 has a 1.5-liter turbo engine (177 hp), which is paired with a 7-speed robotic gearbox with double clutch.

A feature of the hybrid is the presence of high-capacity batteries, which allow you to travel on electricity up to 60 km. The declared average consumption of Geely GE is 1.6 liters per 100 km.

Also at the auto show will be presented updated Geely emgrand 7 and Emgrand X7, which will soon appear at Russian dealers. After facelift, the Emgrand 7 sedan features a redesigned front end with a new bumper and a "branded" radiator grille in the form of concentric circles. The interior has also changed with a new center console and different seat upholstery.

The updated crossover Emgrand X7 boasts not only a design in a new corporate style (the novelty has become similar to the Geely Atlas), but also a number of technical innovations, including the rear multi-link suspension, a state-of-the-art media system with a 9-inch high-definition screen and keyless entry. In the cabin, only the seats have changed - their upholstery is made of better materials.

The global premiere of the newest crossover will take place on August 29 at the Moscow International Motor Show Chinese brand Havel. The F7 is the flagship of the new "youth" line of Haval crossovers. In terms of dimensions, this model is close to Toyota Highlander: its length is only slightly short of five meters, and its wheelbase is 2800 mm.

The serial crossover, based on the Haval HB-02 concept presented two years ago, has received rich equipment, including LED matrix headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels, a system for selecting driving modes (standard, economy, sports, snow, etc.), as well as a media center with online services and voice control. Starting next year, Haval F7 will be produced at a plant in the Tula region. In Russia, the novelty will be produced with gasoline turbo engines of 1.5 and 2.0 liters (150 and 190 HP), working in tandem with a 7-speed robotic box gears with "wet" dual clutch and four-wheel drive.

Hyundai has two premieres at MIAS-2018 - this is new generation Santa Fe and the updated Tucson. Both models are already on sale in Russia. The new "Santa" has changed greatly in appearance and has become better equipped. V basic configuration it has four-wheel drive, six airbags, a driving mode selection system, rear parking sensors, dual-zone climate control, optitronic dashboard with color display, heated mirrors, front seats and steering wheel, cruise control, an audio system with a 5 "monochrome screen, 17" alloy wheels, an alarm and even an automatic body leveling system! "Santa Fe" 4th generation is offered with two engines: 2.4-liter petrol power 188 h.p. with a 6-speed automatic transmission and a 2.2-liter 200-horsepower diesel engine in combination with a new 8-speed automatic transmission.

The updated "Tusan" is externally distinguished by a new radiator grill, front bumper oversized, LED headlights and other pattern alloy wheels... The cabin has been upgraded with ventilation deflectors, center console and media system with CarPlay support / Android Auto, whose touchscreen now rises above the torpedo. The engines remain the same: these are gasoline units 1.6 and 2.0, developing 177 and 150 hp. respectively, as well as a 2.0-liter diesel with 185 hp, with the latter receiving a new 8-speed automatic.

In addition to the third-generation Ceed hatchback, Kia will present three more novelties at the Crocus Expo in Moscow. One of them is the new Ceed Sportwagon. The main feature of the station wagon is the largest luggage compartment in the class. It was possible to make it this way while maintaining the existing wheelbase by reducing the front and increasing the rear overhang.

Another premiere of Kia will be the third generation of the Cerato sedan, sales of which in Russia will begin in October. The global model, one of the three most popular Kia vehicles in the world, will be on display at Russian market with two gasoline engines: 1.6 (128 HP) and 2.0 (150 HP). The two-liter engine will be available with automatic transmission only, while the 1.6-liter version can be equipped with both automatic and mechanical transmission.

At MIAS-2018, Kia will also show the updated Sportage, which will appear on the Russian market by the end of the year. The car has undergone minor design changes, and also received a more modern media complex and new driver assistance systems. Ruler power units the crossover was replenished with a 2.4 GDI gasoline engine (184 hp), and the diesel Sportage received an 8-speed automatic.

LADA

The highlight of the Lada program at MIAS will be the premiere of the "hot" version of the Vesta sedan. The engine power was raised from 122 to 145 hp, which gave an advantage of 0.6 seconds in acceleration to a hundred.


Another premiere of AvtoVAZ will be the "off-road" modification of the Lada Xray hatchback. Its concept was also shown at the Moscow Motor Show in 2016, but now it will already be the production version of the Xray Cross, which, however, will not differ much from the "conceptual" one.

In addition to Lada Vesta Sport and Xray Cross, AvtoVAZ will bring a new Grants family to MIAS-2018. It includes four body types, two of which are "borrowed" from Lada Kalina... In addition to the sedan and liftback, in the lineup Lada granta for the first time there will be a hatchback and a station wagon. From the front, the new items look the same - with a Vesta-style radiator grill, while the back has retained the recognizable Kalina style.

Chinese booth Lifan will occupy almost 1000 square meters of Crocus Expo. On it, visitors will be able to get acquainted with models that have not yet been presented on the Russian market, but have every chance of getting there. These will include the M7 minivan (very similar to Ford S-Max), the X80 large 7-seater crossover and the 820EV sedan are an electrified version of the Murman model.

Lifan representatives promise to demonstrate the electric car in action, as well as show the process of replacing its batteries.

Renault's main premiere at the Moscow Motor Show will be new crossover C-segment Arkana is a more affordable coupe-like classmate Nissan qashqai, specifications which is kept in strict confidence for the time being. Renault logan and Sandero Stepway will also be available in a City version that comes with CVT variator X-Tronic combined with a 1.6 engine (113 hp). Externally, the Stepway City versions are distinguished by the absence of "steel" inserts on the bumpers, black glossy covers on the mirrors, and Sandero Stepway City - also completely black roof rails. In addition, cars in this series can be ordered in a new red body color.

Start of Russian sales of updated Renault Sandero Stepway and Logan Stepway (including Stepway City versions) is scheduled for fall. And Dokker Stepway will appear on the Russian market in early 2019.

VOLKSWAGEN

The German auto concern in Moscow will host two Russian premieres. For the first time in our country, the Arteon liftback and the I.D. electric car will be shown at the Volkswagen stand. "Arteon", going to replace the Passat CC, is stuffed with electronic assistants to the eyeballs. It can drive in semi-automatic mode, independently adjusting the speed taking into account road conditions... For this model, the function of pre-lighting of turns is also available, based on information received from the cameras and data from the navigator, changing the direction of the light beam even before making a maneuver.

Prototype I.D. Is a representative of the electric family of the brand, built on the new modular MEB platform. The electric car is endowed with the function of autonomous driving, during which the driver is completely removed from control, and the steering wheel is retracted into the front panel. Another "feature" of the prototype is the Home-Net system, which allows you to combine a car and a house into one network.

Another premiere at the Volkswagen stand is the Tiguan Offroad. "Off-road" version of the crossover Russian assembly features a sloped front bumper, which improved geometric cross-country ability, as well as decorative elements. Sales of new items will start in October.

The magazine "5 wheel" and the radio station "Moscow FM" are holding the competition "Car of the Moscow International Motor Show - 2018".

Disaster or Normal?

One-time refusals by brands to participate in international car dealerships are not uncommon: for example, because it does not fit into the company's premier schedule. At the same time, we reported that Mini and Jaguar Land rover refused to participate in the Detroit Auto Show, and the Mini will not be in Geneva. But, perhaps, such a massive escape of brands from an international exhibition has not happened for a long time.

Several months ago, on one radio, it was authoritatively stated that the UAZ-Patriot at 160 thousand kilometers should be put on a pedestal and, in general, such a run is a miracle and luck. My 12th birthday pickup truck and I just then exceeded the honest 100 - on a computer calibrated by GPS, and then, naturally, we wanted to answer. But they didn’t dance in any way. Not clinging. Not that there were no facts and words, but none of them seemed capable of even scratching the armor of superstitions of compatriots offended by the domestic auto industry. And finally it happened.

The idea matured after about a couple of months of communication with a financial organization with all the attributes of focusing on the owners of at least the C-class. The slogan about “for rich people”, Armstrong on the phone, well-trained girls at the reception (albeit in corporate pants in a style unacceptable for the habitual habit in our area) and even the chief boss - a fine looking “smart Jew” in expensive glasses, the hero of a talk show about how to do business.

This has become the starting point for finally formulating what has been ripening for a long time:

For 100 thousand kilometers, now more, in all modes of operation - from a purely weekend car to an almost daily traveling around the city, from asphalt runs of thousands of kilometers to many days of fidgeting in the mountains - these are practically only positive emotions.

On completely unusable human material, with Soviet workshops and machine tools, with all the economic problems of small-scale production, with an endless stock of expansion tanks that were stale in the last century, with a wise government that, instead of a new paint shop in Ulyanovsk, finances some kind of car assembly in a Chechen gym, Ulyanovsk the plant manages to do very, very decent car with a dealer and service network that really works.

In general, I was going to write “about 100 thousand on the UAZ” even before I heard about the pedestal, but put it off until the trip, which was supposed to dot the i's and, possibly, confirm the persistent myths about the UAZ's particular unreliability. Why not - auto experts with experience, and I haven’t driven any car for so long and with such mileage.

I knew about it in advance, there would just be Kazakhstan and Chechnya. Kazakhstan is almost dear to us - dry, hills, slopes, stones - nothing special, we pass by new cars, from the salon, even before T0; Chechnya seemed to be something like the familiar KChR with asphalt, gravel and a maximum of 2000 meters. Therefore, there was no special preparation. This is how I drove around the city, threw tents, stewed meat, garbage bags, yes, to clear my conscience, to the dealer for maintenance - the 9th was already long behind, and far from the 100,000th, I somehow explained at the reception what I want from them - agreed to “diagnose the chassis, check-adjust the wheel bearings, look at the cushions of the units” and there, too, go for a walk like that, “check the timing phases” - experts say that it's time to stretch out the chains and break soon - the bill is 16 thousand rubles.


Not all roads in Kazakhstan are like that, but there are plenty of them if you wish.



Many owners of "good expensive foreign cars" can afford to drive their car in such places?

That evening, for the second time in my life, I was convinced of the correct choice of UAZ. Another good, very good, car, the dream of girlfriends of auto journalists, almost just “ best car for travel ”he rocked himself in the middle of the steppe a hundred or two kilometers to the nearest asphalt. In general, not a single off-road travel organizer admitted this to me, but there are suspicions that their dislike for UAZs on expeditions is not due to the fact that they break down, but to the fact that you cannot tell the driver of the UAZ - “I’ll drag you to the asphalt , and then he himself and his dealer as you want and get out ”- UAZ within a day will be repaired and will return, and it must be somehow awaited, somehow coordinated. What is it for? It's easier to kick a person out of the group right away - all the same, nothing can be done - let him go back to his Moscow in a tow truck.

It was possible, of course, to look for a suitable stone, ask someone to mock up this stone in order to visit this stone more beautifully, climb onto the hood in a specially dressed fashionable windbreaker and make a thoughtfully heroic face, but why? We buy UAZs, not sell foreign cars.


Why is this all? A man, especially a man, needs victories in the modern world of civilization and comfort. Over circumstances, over fatigue, over fear, over technique. Thanks to UAZ people win, grow, acquire the ability to lead. And this has nothing to do with driving on the Gelendvagens on the lawns.



Maybe I haven't seen anything sweeter than a carrot, and my four sets of rubber, not one of which is not completely worn out, do not give a reason to declare something authoritatively, but I really like this rubber. A compromise between mud, road and even winter, which gave its compromise only in winter. And even then - in the snow is better than even the vaunted hakkapelita. Immediately, all transmissions become optimal, driving around the city becomes a pleasure, and the roads outside the city turn out to be much smoother.


Then the UAZ stood under the window and immediately, outright, drove off for another thousand-kilometer drive along mountainous Bashkiria - to cross the Ural through forest paths, turn onto a river, cross it fifteen times, then also back, try to cut off on the road, get lost and jump off another hundred kilometers along primers, drive around the city and at the end-ends, suddenly at a traffic light, jerk-bump and say “well, with your automatic blocking, the factory semi-axle can withstand more than 80 thousand kilometers - come on, plug it in front-wheel drive and drive on your own to the service ”

And even if it’s a tiny Qashqai, and they dragged you half the way on a rope, you still crawled through the pits with everyone else, swam up to your ears in water, and now here, practically whole, and they, in cars, about which they say that they much better - there - in a dusty, smelly city on the tired road to the office.


The far right UAZ is known to literally every uazovod. Only famous auto experts do not know how he wound only 200 thousand kilometers, and even his owner finds it difficult to say how much he threshed at idle in the north. But he is in no hurry to get on the pedestal. "No, I won't, of course - it's stupid - well, maybe I will change the engine - everything is fine with the rest"

Well, by the end: replacing the axle shaft, replacing a bunch of rubber bands, this time immediately with polyurethane - 18,000 rubles.

Expensive? For 8 thousand kilometers and a little more than a month, about 40,000 rubles? For drivers who evaluate the car in terms of “bought to carry myself to work and once every two years to the Black Sea”, probably yes. For people who collected 600 thousand from their relatives - no doubt. I bought UAZ keeping in mind “there is no such thing as an SUV cheaper than a million” and immediately prepared to put another 400 thousand on top. Well, the limit of one million rubles has not yet been exceeded. And the car has already passed more than any other in my hands, brought a lot of pleasure and, frankly, its current state for me personally is “better than new”. Those. really - still ride and ride and definitely not change to a new one.

The cost of service is generally the main and almost the only thing a potential UAZ buyer needs to know. This is the only unpleasant surprise that awaits the buyer “cheap domestic car”. It's amazing why seasoned auto experts never mention this, but cling to all kinds of female garbage about the shape of headrests, get carried away with esoteric passages about the souls of collectors on a conveyor belt and frighten for some reason by mentioning the spine.

You can, of course, object that there is already nothing dear there, and the car is serviced as a formula-1 - strictly according to service book and before each important ride, only Mobil1 0w-40 from the first change. But on the other hand - it is operated without pity in the tail and mane - broken "moon" asphalt - not less than 70 km / h, forest mountain glades - a hundred or two kilometers in low gear on wheels by 10% larger and a bunch of kilograms heavier than those allowed by the plant with 2-3 quintals of a shmurdyak alone. And not so “nothing familiar”. In fact, from the outside it is quite a civilian car. What has changed is that, by and large, on such a machine and with such a life of it - consumables: shock absorbers, springs, springs, rubber bands of some kind. It changed once and so that it would not be remembered for a long time. From off-road - a screw self-block in rear axle(along with the work, something about 15000r "old") and wheels. Everything else was a whim, a divorce, and it was possible not to touch it.

To be honest, the fact that civilian cars have to pay for passing MOT somehow began to cause surprise - yes, under the conditions in which they live, dealers have to pay the owners for the time lost.

And UAZ ... When I bought it, and it was almost immediately upon returning to Russia, one of the main motivations was - well, even if something really bad happens, and on these roads among these people it will undoubtedly happen, then well, okay - 600 thousand rubles is a sensitive, but not fatal money, in extreme cases I’ll throw it right there on the road and the next day I’ll buy another new one. And this feeling of calmness, when the machine is absolutely adequate to the surrounding world, you do not live for it, and it doesn’t serve you, but we just co-exist together, it helps me, I to her - it costs a lot. Sometimes it squeezes, you go to a car dealership, you understand that you just have to show weakness and you can now leave it in a sparkling miracle. But then, to worry about this miracle because of every fool who just takes it and gives it back at the gas station. Not in the iron pipe behind the body of the UAZ, but in this all such adorable plastic and that's it. And life will go downhill.

But then refusals fell in an avalanche: some automakers after cutting lineup in Russia were left without new products, others had to delete the car dealership from the action plan in connection with the austerity regime. The final list of participants became known only two days before the start, and it did not inspire optimism: among the major automakers there was one Russian brand, one European, and not a single American or Japanese one.

Nevertheless, with the opening of the exhibition, the general gloom in the media space gave way to revival: the remaining participants tried to squeeze the maximum out of the current situation.

Most of all expectations on the eve of the exhibition were associated with AvtoVAZ, which promised to present a stand of 19 cars, including 6 premieres. The domestic automaker, whatever one may say, needed to perform brightly right now for many reasons: firstly, the plant in Togliatti celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, and secondly, the newly appointed head of the enterprise, Nicolas More, needs to make a decent impression. And, of course, it is necessary to keep the public's attention on the constantly expanding model range.

The novelties were presented personally by the chief designer of Lada Steve Mattin. The main star of the stand (as, indeed, of the entire salon) was the concept of the XCODE crossover, which demonstrates the further development of the new corporate identity of the Russian brand. The car is built on the power structure of the Kalina body, while the subframe, engine and front suspension are borrowed from Vesta. Little is known about the future of the model: the serial version is going to be equipped with a turbocharged engine and all-wheel drive.

Other premieres are variations of Vesta and X-ray. it XRAY Cross, Vesta Cross sedan and Vesta Cross SW (station wagon) - they differ from the basic versions in an off-road style body kit and increased ground clearance... Sports models are equipped with a new 1.8-liter VAZ engine, boosted from 122 to 150 forces, and rear disc brakes.

Not only designers, but also engineers have already managed to work on Lada Vesta Sport Concept. Small-scale production of the model can start in a few months.

The ideological mastermind of the brand's sports concepts is, of course, well known to fans of auto racing. The VAZ stand was attended not only by the WTCC series Lada Sport Rosneft racing car, but also by its driver Gabriele Tarquini.

Of the extras, the most interesting are Vesta Signature with an increased wheelbase, gas Vesta CNG and Lada 4 × 4 in the pickup version with a one-and-a-half cab.

After the presentation of new models, the automaker introduced an application for the Lada Connect smartphone, which allows you to control car systems remotely - in particular, open doors or start the engine, as well as get information about it technical condition... Of the foreign automakers, Mercedes-Benz was the most active with 29 exhibits. The German concern continues to replenish our speech with "words" of three letters. Today, the focus is on the GLC, a coupe-crossover competitor to the BMW X4 and Porsche Macan. The car is equipped with 2-liter petrol and 2.2-liter diesel engines(204 -245 hp), 9-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. Orders are already being accepted for the model - the cost of new items starts from 3 660 000 rubles.

The Mercedes GLC Coupe is equipped with four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines with an output of up to 245 hp, a 9G-tronic transmission and a 4MATIC all-wheel drive system with DYNAMIC SELECT.

The Russian premieres of several Mercedes-AMG sports models also took place: the S63 and C43 convertibles, the SLC43 roadster, the E43 sedan and the GLC 43 SUV.

The Mercedes-AMG S63 convertible has 4MATIC all-wheel drive and a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with 585 hp. The cost of this modification is 12.3 million rubles.

Those who cannot afford Mercedes luxury will certainly be interested in the RAVON stand. The Uzbek carmaker is now using its own brand instead of Daewoo and Chevrolet. A new generation of NEXIA will very soon be added to the R2 and Gentra models already presented on the Russian market. In the future, they plan to return to us the Chevrolet Cobalt, but already modernized and under the name RAVON R4.

RAVON NEXIA R3 is built on the basis of Chevrolet aveo first generation. The car is equipped with a 1.5-liter 16-valve engine with 107 hp, assembled in Uzbekistan, a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic.

Hyundai's exposition at the Moscow Motor Show was limited to a single model - the new Creta crossover. Its serial production began in early August at a plant near St. Petersburg. Buyers are offered cars with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, with petrol engines of 1.6 (123 hp) or 2 (150 hp) liters. Depending on the version, the price of the crossover will be from 749,900 to 1,139,900 rubles.

After the refusal of many eminent automakers to participate in the exhibition, representatives of the Chinese car industry skillfully took advantage of the situation - if earlier they were forced to be in the shadow of world giants, then this year brands from the Celestial Empire were able to turn around properly and attract the attention of the audience.

Changan gave a colorful opening presentation automotive production in the Lipetsk region. In September this year, SKD assembly of the CS35 crossover will start at the new enterprise with the support of the regional administration and the IRITO group of companies. In the long term, it is planned to bring the localization level to 50% in 4 years.

DongFeng Motor presented 7 new models at the MIAS 2016 at once. True, not all of them are destined to be sold in Russia. The management of the company has not yet made a decision on the compact sedan A60 and minivan 370 - they are studying demand. The situation with the flagship of the lineup, the A9 model, is also not clear - will the Russians take the Chinese premium seriously?

The serial version of the DongFeng A9 business sedan is presented to the general public for the first time. Nevertheless, the fate of the model in Russia is still in question.

But the compact sedan A30, the crossover AX7 and the raised station wagon AX3 we will probably see in showrooms - cars of these classes are traditionally popular with us, so when affordable price they will have a high chance of success.

We will definitely not see the DongFeng Warrior SUV in the showrooms of the brand - it is too highly specialized. The creators did not hesitate to borrow both style and design from the American "Hammer".

But the DongFeng Rich New pickup may well be released to the market, but, of course, not in the performance for the Silk Road.

FAW is planning to launch sales of two crossovers from the Chinese market in Russia: D60 and Besturn X80. Both models will be manufactured using SKD at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad.

FAW Besturn X80 has a 2-liter engine with 142 hp, 6-speed manual or 5-speed Aisin automatic and front-wheel drive.

The FAW D60 crossover is equipped with a 1.5-liter petrol engine with 110 hp. and a 5-speed manual transmission. The model is also available with front-wheel drive only.

Geely has updated the logo and also revealed several new models of the brand. The flagship sedan Emgrand GT of the D + class will go to Russian dealers in December this year. It is equipped with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 163 hp. and a 6-speed automatic. Its estimated cost is 1.2 million rubles.

The design of the Geely Emgrand GT sedan was created under the leadership of Peter Horbury, known for his work with Volvo.

The NL3 crossover is promised to be brought to Russia next summer. It will be the company's first all-wheel drive model. The cars will be equipped with 2-liter 140-horsepower naturally aspirated engines and supercharged 1.8-liter units with a capacity of 184 hp. Both models will be produced at the Belji plant in Belarus.

They will be available from naturally aspirated engines 1.6 and 1.8 with a capacity of 100 to 115 forces or a 150-horsepower 1.6 turbo engine and exclusively mechanical box gear.

The past MIAS-2016 auto show was also slightly more presentable, in which only 11 auto companies took part: AvtoVAZ, UAZ, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Smart, Dongfeng, Changan, Geely, FAW, Ravon, IKCO (Iran Khodro).

V Ford companies, Mitsubishi, FCA (Fiat Chrysler concern), Dongfeng, Zotye, Genesis, Foton, FAW, Brilliance have not yet decided to participate in MIAS-2018. In particular, the Russian divisions of Ford and Mitsubishi told Izvestia that they are still considering the expediency of participating in the auto show. However, analysts are convinced that doubting automakers are likely to ignore the autobiennale as well.

For a cost of the magnitude of the Moscow Auto Show, each company had to include a corresponding item in the 2018 advertising budget at the planning stage. Actually, this is why so many companies are already boldly saying that they will not participate, ”says automotive expert Sergei Ivanov.

Among the reasons for refusing to participate in MIAS-2018, representatives of auto companies also mention high prices for rental space in the Crocus-Expo exhibition center (it has been hosting a car dealership since 2006). Crocus-Expo did not disclose to Izvestia the prices for advertising space for the period of the auto show, but assured them that they were not high.

The main expenses are related to the installation and transportation of stands, and the cost of their placement at Crocus-Expo is approximately 10–20% of the total costs. Auto companies comply with certain exhibition standards, and for this, many of them bring their own equipment from abroad and, accordingly, workers for its maintenance is an expensive pleasure, ”said Pyotr Tutarashvili, director of the Moscow International Automobile Salon project.

In the current environment, car companies do not see the need to spend money on a car dealership. These costs are for the most part fashion-related, they bring their dividends only in a “healthy” market - the situation will change with its recovery, ”said Vladimir Bespalov, an analyst for the auto industry at VTB-Capital.

The Moscow Motor Show has been held every two years since 1993; in 2005 the schedule was changed to even-numbered years. During this time, 80 companies took part in the show, which exhibited more than 600 cars. The exhibition has an international status and is held with the support of the world organization of car manufacturers OICA.
