The opening time of the injectors enters the ECU, and from this information it calculates the fuel consumption. Actually, this is the reason: depending on the model of the injection system, the performance of the injectors also changes. In order for the computer to give real information, it is necessary to calibrate it. It will be most accurate on full tanks, however, it can be done at idle speed.

In this case, the fuel consumption of the UAZ "Patriot" is regulated as 1.5 liters / hour, while the computer outputs a figure of 2.2 liters. The average is correct. It is advisable to connect a calibrated BC of a similar car model before starting measurements, while changing the mileage calibration.
