Since, upon a more detailed study of the work orders from Soffit, I suddenly realized that on the TO-0 I made, the oil was changed only in the rear axle. It was already six months ago, so it’s difficult to say what exactly happened: either I said something wrong, or we did not understand each other with the master-receiver.

Thus, you first need to purchase oil for the internal combustion engine and front axle.

Since the last oil change, I still have about 3 liters of oil for the internal combustion engine, so I bought one canister of Lukoil with a volume of 4 liters for the engine:

Like last time, I buy oil at a Lukoil gas station, where, as I also mentioned earlier, the chance of stumbling upon a fake is minimal.


I made an appointment at the service station the next day.

During the routine inspection, the foreman revealed some deterioration drive belt generator. We have heard a lot about this feature of factory parts, so I agreed with the master's recommendation to replace the belt. A reduced coolant level was also noticed. This misunderstanding was also corrected.

All the work took about 4 hours, not counting the car wash, therefore, my recommendation: you should take care of your leisure time in advance during the maintenance work.

In total, according to the works and materials of the service station, cost of TO-1 amounted to 7343 rubles. If you take into account the oil I bought, then this is another two thousand rubles. That is, in the end: ~ 9400 rubles.

1. Before the summer season of operation:

  • put the valve for heating the working mixture of the gas pipeline in the "Summer" position;
  • drain sludge from fuel tanks;
  • remove the heater and wiper motors, check the condition of the collector and brushes, rinse and lubricate the bearings;
  • flush the cooling system;
  • replace the oils in the units with summer grades provided for in the lubrication table.

2. Before winter season operation:

  • set the gas pipeline working mixture heating flap to the "Winter" position;
  • Rinse fuel tanks and fuel filters;
  • replace the oils in the units with winter grades provided for in the lubrication table;
  • prepare the starting engine heater for operation (when installed);
  • check the operation of the heating and ventilation system of the body (cab);
  • check the operation of the blinds, eliminate malfunctions and lubricate the traction;
  • wash or replace the air filter vacuum booster brakes.

Remember that during the maintenance of the UAZ, all previous types of maintenance must be included in it!

Diesel engine

Maintenance of a UAZ Patriot diesel engine is somewhat different from a gasoline one. So, the answer to the question - how much oil to pour into the engine, will be different. The volume of oil required for a change is 7 liters, and 7.4 liters fits directly into the engine.

Maintenance chart for diesel engine variants of the UAZ Patriot:

Change of oil

Engine malfunctions and repairs

As practice has shown, with diesel engines- much more problems than with petrol options... Consider the main malfunctions that occur on the ZMZ 514.32 and the Iveco F1A engine:

  1. Vacuum pump failure.
  2. Cut off the oil pump drive or intermediate shaft.
  3. Unscrewing the plug KV.
  4. Break, jump of the timing chain.
  5. Breakage of the phase sensor plate.
  6. Depressurization of the intake pressure line.
  7. Low pressure in the fuel rail.
  8. Slow and insufficient engine warm-up in winter.
  9. Oil and grease deposits in the intake manifold
  10. Black smoke in the exhaust.

As for the gasoline version of the engine, the problems are the same as for any ZMZ 409. The eternal problem with the thermostat, which every motorist treats as best he can. The chain of the gas distribution mechanism can last about 200 thousand km, but it happens that it does not take care of even 100 thousand km, as you are lucky.

On some vehicle models, it was noticed that injectors quickly failed. It is easy to repair the malfunction - replace all injected elements.

Engine tuning

The problem with most UAZ vehicles is too expensive mechanical tuning, namely expensive spare parts. Therefore, most owners stop at the very simple version- chip tuning. There are two types of software revision for the UAZ Patriot - chip tuning for consumption and power. As practice shows, specialists, in most cases, reduce the consumption, which is significant.

Output

On the UAZ Patriot, reliable power units ZMZ 409 were mainly installed. Of course, one should not exclude diesel versions - ZMZ 514.32 and Iveco F1A. It is quite simple to repair power units, but often motorists prefer a car service for such operations. The revision ends with the fact that chip tuning is done to reduce consumption or increase power.

Daily maintenance

1. By external inspection, check the completeness of the car, the condition of the body, glass, rear-view mirrors, tail, registration plates, paintwork, door locks, frame, springs, shock absorbers, wheels and tires. Eliminate the detected faults.

Inspect the parking lot and make sure there are no leaks of fuel, oil, coolant and brake fluids. Eliminate the detected faults.

Check and top up the coolant, crankcase oil and brake fluid levels.

2. Check the operation of the steering, braking systems, lighting devices, light and sound alarms, and a wiper. Eliminate the detected faults.

3. Fill the windshield washer reservoir. In the warm season, the use of water is allowed.

4. If the car was operated in dusty conditions or overcame fords and sections of unpaved roads filled with liquid mud, replace or clean the filter element of the engine air filter.

5. After driving, wash the car if it has been operated on dirty or dusty roads.


Maintenance after running-in

1. Tighten the engine cylinder head nuts (except for UAZ-31604).

2. Change the oil in the gearbox, transfer case, front and rear axles with the units flushed with spindle or industrial oil with a kinematic viscosity at a temperature of 50 ° C not more than 14. The volume of the flushing oil to be poured should be at least 75% of the filling norm.

3. Check the oil level in the housing of the steering mechanism or in the reservoir of the power steering system and top up if necessary.

4. Perform the works specified in the subsection "Car maintenance every 10,000 km", with the exception of points 1, 7, 14, 15, 18.

5. Perform the work stipulated by points 2, 5 of the subsection "Car maintenance every 20,000 km."


Car service every 500 km

1. Check and adjust the tire pressure.

2. Check and, if necessary, adjust the tension of the belts of the generator, power steering pump.

3. On a new car, after the first 500 km have been driven, tighten the fasteners of the steering box housing.


Car service every 10,000 km

1. Check the condition of the brake pads and brake disc of the front wheels. Replace if worn out.

2. Check and, if necessary, adjust the free travel of the brake pedal.

Check the reliability of fastening of the mechanism and the parking brake drive, tighten if necessary. Check the effectiveness of the parking brake. Adjust if necessary.

Check tightness hydraulic drive, condition of the pipelines and hoses of the brake system. Eliminate the problem.

Check the efficiency of the front and rear circuits of the brake system, the operation of the brake pressure regulator.

3. Check the free play of the steering wheel, the condition, tightening and splitting of the nuts of the ball pins of the steering rods, the clearances in the joints of the steering rods and the steering gear, the fastening of the steering knuckle lever, the bipod and the steering gear housing. Eliminate malfunctions, tighten the fasteners, adjust the steering gear if necessary.

4. Check the condition of the elements of the front and rear suspension... Eliminate faults, replace worn hinges and deformed rods, tighten fasteners.

5. Check and, if necessary, adjust the wheel hub bearings.

6. Check the condition of the tires. If uneven wear on the front tires is found, check and adjust the front toe-in.



8. Tighten the flanges of the front and rear propeller shafts to the flanges of the transfer case and axle shafts, ball bearings to the flanges of the axle shafts, leading the flanges to the hubs.

9. Tighten the engine mountings, engine oil sump, upper and lower parts of the clutch housing, fuel lines, intake and exhaust manifolds, exhaust pipe of the muffler and its suspension. On a UAZ-31604 car, in addition, tighten the fuel pump mount high pressure, glow plug connectors, air hoses, turbocharger, turbocharger to exhaust manifold.

10. Tighten the fastening of the radiator and its lining.

11. Check the condition of the alternator belts, power steering pump, vacuum pump. Replace worn belts. Adjust the tension of the belts.

12. Check and, if necessary, adjust the clearances between the shafts and the valves (UAZ-3160,

31601, -31605).

13. Check the tightness of the power supply system. Eliminate faults.

14. Wash the fuel pump mesh filter (UAZ-31601).

15. Replace the filter element of the fine fuel filter.

16. Clean the air filter and its filter element from dust and dirt. Flush the flame arrestor mesh inside the air filter cover.

17. Clean the battery from dirt, clean the ventilation holes in the plugs, check the electrolyte level and, if necessary, top up with distilled water and charge the battery.

18. Clean the alternator and starter from dirt and oil, check the condition of the collector and brushes. If it is necessary to replace the brushes, blow out the cavity of the generator and starter with compressed air and check their fastening.

19. Clean the surface of spark plugs, ignition coil, distributor sensor and high voltage wires from dirt and oil. Check the distributor sensor, the condition of the high and low voltage wires. Remove spark plugs and check condition. If necessary, clean the electrodes and adjust the gap between them. Check the reliability of the installation of high-voltage wires in the sockets of the distributor sensor cover and the ignition coil. Check the setting of the ignition timing (UAZ-31601).

20. Check the fuel level in the carburetor float chamber, the operation of the accelerator pump and economizer (UAZ-31601). Eliminate malfunctions.

21. Adjust the idling speed of the crankshaft (except for UAZ-3160, -31605) and check the toxicity of the exhaust gases (except for UAZ-31604). Adjust the air-fuel mixture if necessary.


Car service every 20,000 km

1. Check the condition of the rear wheel brake pads and the parking brake system. Replace extremely worn pads.

2. Adjust the headlights.

3. Check the clearances in the bearings of the main gears of the front and rear axles and, if any, repair.

4. Check and, if necessary, adjust the tightness of the steering knuckle pins.

5. Check and, if necessary, tighten the fasteners of all units, assemblies, transmission parts, engine and body to the frame.

6. Drain sediment and flush fuel tanks.

7. Clean the hoses and wash the engine crankcase ventilation system parts with kerosene.

8. Check the correct operation of the thermostat, temperature sensors, fan clutch. Check the condition of the hoses and connections. Eliminate malfunctions. Replace defective thermostat and sensors, damaged hoses.

9. On a UAZ-31604 vehicle, check the operation of the glow plugs.


Car service every 30,000 km

1. Change the oil in the crankcase after flushing the lubrication system.

2. Remove the starter from the vehicle and service.


Car service every 40,000 km

1. Replace the alternator belt (UAZ-31604).

2. On a UAZ-31604 vehicle, check the atomization of the injectors.


Car service every 60,000 km
