Driving a large car can be tricky, but nothing will make us fall out of love with giant SUVs. These monsters really amaze the imagination - while driving any of them you feel like the king of the roads. The sheikh of the United Arab Emirates could tell in more detail about this, who ordered an exclusive vehicle - the largest SUV in the world.

However, the Sheikh's car looks more like Bigfoot ATVs than standard SUVs. We will turn our attention to the largest jeeps that not only members of royal families can afford.

The largest SUVs: rating of the giants

It is difficult to choose a leader among these handsome men. Not only because they have excellent flotation performance or impressive dimensions. The whole point lies in the special character of the machine, which is inherent in every giant. In addition, many of the largest SUVs in the world are produced in limited editions and are most often modified according to the owner's preference. Almost every large SUV in series production is even more personalized.

Since it is impossible to compare, in principle, incomparable characteristic cars, and their sizes do not differ significantly, we decided to select for you the ten most economical XXXL jeeps. Economy means average fuel consumption, since neither the big jeeps themselves (some of which are exclusive), nor the components for them, can be called cheap. But they clearly demonstrate the status and business qualities of their owner.

TOP 10 most economical large SUVs in the world in 2019

A mysterious Japanese SUV that never made it to the world market. Debates continue on the Internet about how many of these cars were created. The numbers range between 150 and 500 copies. The jeep was designed for military use and this is more than noticeable. In connection with the military theme, it was long believed that the car was prohibited from exporting from Japan. Fortunately, this is not the case, which is confirmed by the experience of happy owners from Russia, Ukraine and Europe.

Toyota Mega is a practical car, so the comfort, to put it mildly, is average. But the reliability of every detail is at the highest level and the thoughtfulness of the whole design is simply amazing.

The brutal SUV is a legend. The car that is first remembered with the word "jeep". American militarism in the flesh and on wheels. Hammer H1 is familiar to everyone, and has long ceased to be just a means of transportation.

The legend left the assembly line for the first time in 1992. It seemed that this big jeep simply doomed to success: based on a military model, it was not distinguished by comfort or sophistication of decoration. But drivers around the world have literally fallen in love with the angular all-terrain vehicle. Endurance, flotation and, last but not least, aggressive design have led to the fact that many are still looking to buy a used Hummer of this model. Used since production of the first generation stopped completely in 2006. To replace him, they prepared the Hammer H2 - more comfortable and streamlined. But one has only to look at the newbie to make it clear - this is a completely different story.

To drive a comfortable tank you need 20 liters of fuel per 100 km. He is the least economical in this sense. On the other hand, what's the use of counting how many liters of fuel a car requires, the price of which can be a million dollars?

We see off cars decorated with big wheels... The huge radius of the discs looks impressive, even intimidating. It is obvious to everyone that there is a predator on the road. However, be aware: this can be practical. Let's take a closer look at how good the large wheels are.

Buying a brand new "horse", many people think for a minute, maybe they should install discs on a car of a larger landing size. In the list of services, it is possible to install a couple of inches larger radius. However, the brake system will also have to be changed. For adequate brake performance, it is necessary to modify the length brake pipes and hoses.

Let's plunge into the chronicle

If we consider the chronicle of the change in the parameters of the wheel, we will find two trends. At first, the wheels became smaller in size, a little later, the landing and outer radius actively increased. Let's plunge into historical summaries. The first cars to appear wore huge wheels.

You know, on the Mercedes Simplex, the wheels were mounted 910 by 90 and 1020 by 120 on the rear axles. It's almost 80 inches in a radius! The fit was over 20 inches. This is already back in 1902.

Large wheels have a good effect on the cross-country ability of the vehicle. Each car was, in theory, an SUV. It's not driving on an asphalt highway! The roads, or rather the paths, were country roads, with various bumps and holes. The wheels used to have thin rims. Wide wheels will begin to manufacture much later. The height of the profile will remain at least 70 percent of the width. Until the diagonal tires take the place of the radial ones.

The rims on these cars were, of course, made of wood. Only in the last editions there was an innovation - a stamped steel disc. Some time passed. Glossy spoke wheels have become popular.

Half a century later ... In the 50s, cars drove on thin narrow wheels. The diameter has become smaller. Passenger cars no longer needed to navigate such broken paths. The Moskvich 402 car rolled on wheels 5.6 by 15. The same was true for many models. The smallest wheel radii went to cars from the 70s to the 90s. The diameter of the landing has become smaller - 13-14 inches. The tire cross-sectional dimension was slowly reduced to 75, and later to 65 percent.

After a while, there is stable increase in wheel size... Tire radii have become larger and on the smallest cars - up to 30 inches. The most popular disc diameters are 16. It cannot be said that the reason was the obvious destruction of roads, but due to the need to increase the cross-country ability. Maybe it just got trendy?

Fashion alone cannot explain the focus on increasing size. A car with large wheels looks impressive and attractive. At least it looks more like designer sketches than a typical specimen. Developing a beautiful disc design in such a situation is much more interesting. There are, however, good reasons for wheel growth.

You probably know about lowrider cars. They are famous for their lowered, modified suspension. So, the installation large wheels is an inexpensive and simple transformation that allows you to bring out the emphasis of the lowrider style.

Often elevated wheels need enlarged wheel arches. Especially if the wheels work together with lowered suspension. Sometimes large wheels are decorated with decorative rims of arches with a metallic sheen. It looks very impressive. At the same time, larger wheels require thinner tires. It is fashionable to decorate decorative frames of arches with cool design solutions, such as: futuristic or strict form of arch bulge or airbrushing.

Is the wheel with the largest outer diameter better?

On the one hand, yes. Because the contact area between the tire and the road will increase. Even without making the tire softer, it is possible to widen the contact plane with the road surface by reducing the curvature of the wheel itself at the point of contact. You may not feel the difference, but it does two things:

  1. Improved traction and traction... The reduced braking distance will improve the safety of driving in general.
  2. Increased efficiency... You can use a tire with a high pressure and not be afraid of deteriorating grip on the wheel track.

In turn, increasing the operating pressure of the tire will allow for more precise control of the vehicle. Machine coordination will be better. The crushing of the sidewall of the machine wheel will be reduced. But this is the main problem of pneumatic tires. The increased lateral load on the machine wheels leads to a curvature of the contact patch, a deterioration in the optimal shape of the tread. Grip deteriorates in this situation, when part of the tire simply loses contact with the road surface.

Under the term "Breaking" This refers to a situation in which the sidewall of the tire loses its shape due to overload. At the same time, the tire comes into contact with the track by the side part, while the treadmill of the wheel is practically not put into operation. Wheel rim depressurizes with the tire. As a result, traction with the road surface is almost completely lost.

Passage is also getting much better. This is due to the increased length of the seal wedge. This is the name of the zone within which the limp soil of the road does not fly apart in the axes, but gains strength, creeping under the wheel. Ground clearance and visibility are also enhanced by the larger wheels.

Disadvantages of a large outer wheel diameter

Unfortunately, it is not possible to simply increase the wheel size to improve traction. Let's dwell on consequences of increasing the diameter... First of all, now the wheels will become heavier than the usual, standard ones. The consumption of rubber and metal will also increase.

The weight of the wheel and parts of the suspension arms will increase. This mass is called "unsprung". All this makes the wheel grip uncomfortable. In the body, the spare wheel will take up much more space, creating harmful air turbulence along the way. The big wheel is actually softer than usual, this negatively affects the vehicle's handling.

An active struggle is quite possible with the shortcomings.

The rim of the tire continues to grow.

It is clear that the wheel bigger size It has grip advantages, only if the side surface does not break and lose its shape in the turn, the rigidity of the wheel rim will help to avoid its distortion under the influence of lateral loading. In other words, the negative consequences of the increase in the wheel mass, most likely, will not be able to outweigh the positive ones.

By reducing the height of the tires, we found a way out. This was the reason to make a larger bore diameter. Resistance to lateral forces is improved due to the fact that the sidewall height is minimized. The rim is stiffer than rubber. The light-alloy wheel, in turn, has a greater stiffness than steel. So the total mass of the tire + disc will be slightly less.

In addition, an increase in the size of the inner diameter of the tire, namely the diameter of the disc, is extremely optimal for the brake mechanism. Because of design features disc brakes are most often placed in the interior of a wheel disc. The size of the disc, as a result, introduces restrictions on the dimensional parameters of the brake disc, as well as the caliper. The cooling of the brakes is faster and better due to their size. In addition, it will provide a smooth deceleration, among other benefits.

Low profile rubber. Disadvantages…

There are no perfect technical solutions. By lowering the profile of the tire and increasing the rim diameter, we acquire our disadvantages of this solution. Rolling stiffness and vibration await us when the section of the "rubber layer" is reduced. The body of the car and the suspension are subject to much more jolts and impacts.

The increase in the pressure of the machine wheel also affects the work. This will make it harder. The tire will cost more, due to the increased requirements for the strength of the sidewall and the difficulty of keeping the shape of a wide machine tire with low sides.

New suspensions and modern shock absorbers will cope with the minuses of low-profile rubber. However, the fact is indisputable: high profile provides the car with better comfort.

Expensive factory big wheels

Service centers offer the option of installing more wheel rim... However, the cost of such pleasure is extremely overpriced. Why then the price of a set of branded discs from a reseller is less. Why is this and where is the catch?

The fact is that the service also includes adjusting the parameters of the suspension, as well as the brake system. Put braking systems and shock absorbers made specifically for the wheels are heavier than usual. Putting a winter kit with discs a couple of inches smaller on this car will not work. Smaller tires will not fit on this caliper.

Let's sum up

Advantages of large wheels:

  • The car will have improved handling.
  • Acceleration dynamics will be improved and braking distances will be shorter on the road.
  • Attractive and daring exterior of the car.
  • By increasing the outer diameter of the tire, the permeability becomes much better.
  • The brake system is replaced with one that is more powerful.
  • The view from the driver's seat will be much better.

If the wheels of a giant mining dump truck are worn out, "earners" will face serious expenses: each such tire costs as much as several cars. You can save only on balancing - slowly rotating wheels of dump trucks do not need it.

Do you know what determines how gigantic the newly created dump trucks will be? Not only from the wishes of large customers and marketing research of manufacturers of dump trucks.

The defining link is the tire workers.

After Michelin launched the first radial tire for mining trucks in 1959, in 18.00R25 (18 is the width of the tire in inches), the entire mining industry began to follow with interest the achievements of French engineers. The more the tire and the load that it is able to take on, the higher the carrying capacity of the dump truck and more profitable business... Developing durable tires that can withstand tens of tons of loads is not easy - and this was an obstacle in the beginning. Truly gigantic cars only began to appear in the 1970s, when the proper "shoes" appeared.

Until 1964, the largest radial tire had a 39-inch rim, but by the end of the decade, the tire's limit was 51-inches. The real breakthrough in the industry came in 1976 when Michelin introduced the 57-inch 40.00R57 tire. This led to a surge in giant-mania in the mining industry. For more than two decades, "57" has been the limit. But in the late 1990s, Caterpillar decided to develop an unprecedented 345 tonne mining dump truck, the Model 797B. It was then that the first 63-inch tire was born - a development by Michelin. Such an indicator was derived based on the maximum possible gross vehicle weight - 624 tons, limited by the capabilities of the tires. The maximum load of one 63-inch tire is 104 tons, there are six wheels in total, and the weight is proportionally distributed between the axles of the machine. As it is easy to calculate, 624 tons is really the limit.

However, Caterpillar is now number 2 in the world in terms of carrying capacity. In 2004, the Liebherr T 282 B dump truck made its debut with a payload capacity of 363 t, which was dubbed the "eighth wonder of the world" in the press. It was possible to achieve such a high figure by reducing the dead weight of the car: full mass dump truck - 592 tons.

At the moment, the world's largest dump truck, with a carrying capacity of 450 tons, is .

Today the largest tires are 59 / 80R63. They are produced in series only by two manufacturers - the Michelin and Bridgestone concerns. The Michelin 59 / 80R63 XDR tire has an ultra-deep tread, due to which it stands out with a significant service life, but, accordingly, a high price of $ 60,000 per cylinder.

The Michelin 59 / 80R63 XDR tire weighs over 5 tonnes! The giant wheel can withstand loads in excess of 100 tonnes, and especially high demands are placed on its strength. Therefore, the tire contains 890 kg of steel! The main material, of course, is rubber: there are 3850 kg of it in a tire - enough to produce about 600 passenger tires.

Are bigger tires coming soon? The answer is no. “Oversized tires don't allow for transportation,” explains Louis-Gaillle Kaynek, marketing director for Michelin's Heavy Duty Tires. Every year, the company sends thousands of giant tires to remote regions of the planet - by ships, planes, rail and road trains.

According to an international study, the largest possible tire diameter for transport using all these methods is 4.3 m, and the outer diameter of the currently largest Michelin tires is 4.03 m.In theory, you can slightly increase the tire, increase the load it can carry a little. , but this will require large investments, and the effect will be negligible. So "63 inches" is the limit for today, and a new round of gigantomania is not expected in the near future.

Path of Least Resistance

Although all passenger cars have been driving exclusively on radial tires for many years, diagonal tires have been installed on some BelAZ dump trucks quite recently. Such wheels are characterized by a simpler design, are cheaper to manufacture, stand out for the strength of the sidewalls, but high rolling resistance (respectively increased consumption fuel) and shorter service life negate their advantages. Therefore, Michelin stopped producing bias tires for mining dump trucks back in 1980, and Belshina's Bobruisk enterprise, which previously supplied BelAZ with bias tires, now produces mainly radial tires (more than 90% of its production). Since the development and production of giant tires is not an easy task, rubber for relatively small BelAZ dump trucks is produced in Bobruisk, and tires from Bridgestone and Michelin are purchased for the giants.

If anyone had a question, what are the largest tires in the arsenal of the American company Goodyear, then it is the Goodyear RM-4A + in size 59/80 R63, which is the same size and about the same weight as an elephant. These OTR (Off-The-Road) tires are designed for the largest dump trucks used in the mining industry.

Giant Goodyear tires sold worldwide and fitted to dump trucks operating in quarries where coal, gold, copper, etc. are mined. The outer diameter is 4.023 meters, which is more than the permitted height of trucks in most European countries. Basketball rings are one meter below. The weight is 5.4 tons, the lifting capacity is 100 tons, and maximum speed- 50 km / h.

63-inch tires have a metal carcass and a belt belt. When creating them, we used Newest technologies computer modeling, and the development was carried out in cooperation with manufacturers of mining equipment. The tires are made from a special Cool-Running CycleMax compound that reduces heat generation. The grooves in the center of the tread can be interlocked to increase stability, and the reinforced sidewalls provide additional protection. Goodyear RM-4A + is available in 53/80 R63 and 59/80 R63. Versions with three types of rubber compounds and different tread depths are available (E3 and E4).

The modern world is a time of incredible technologies that help create giant machines with enormous power. Humanity makes the forces of nature work for itself: steam, water, electricity. By creating complex mechanisms, machines are capable of performing dangerous and hard work. The impressive size of each representative allowed them to enter the top 10 the most big cars in the world.

10. American Dream limousine

The American Dream limousine is one of the largest passenger cars and the world champion in length (30.48 m). It was specially built in the 1980s. for the filming of the film "Back to the Future", "Starsky and Hutch" and others. To this day he is the leader in the "Guinness Records".

The car is real, 26 wheels support a large water bed inside the cabin, a jacuzzi, a mini-pool, there is even a helicopter pad. The car was based on the 1970s "Cadillac Eldorado", its outline remained only in small exterior details.

For a convenient turn in the car there is a "break", only in this place you can turn the limousine, as in a road train. The trailer is the back of the car, it can be unhooked, in a shortened version the car is more mobile.

The American Dream limousine has space for 2 drivers, one in the back to follow the turns. The car does not have a certificate for general roads, so it is transported by trucks, having previously divided it into 2 parts. Now the limousine is under restoration, after which it will become an exhibit in a museum in New York.

The cargo An-225 or "Mriya" is the largest aircraft in the world, measuring 84 meters long, 88.4 meters wide and 18.1 meters high. Only he can lift on board up to 250 tons, and the take-off weight is 640 tons. An-225 can reach speeds of up to 850 km / h with a flight range of 15.4 thousand km. at an altitude of 11 thousand meters.

For landing, the plane needs a runway of 2400 m. The Mriya's landing gear is larger than that of all other planes in the world. The weight of 640 tons (this is the weight of nine loaded Boeing 737s) is supported by 32 wheels.

The aircraft is headed by a crew of 7 people, which can accommodate another 88 passengers. The aircraft has 6 turbojet engines, each with a thrust twice that of the Concorde supersonic aircraft.

8. Komatsu D575A

The Komatsu D575A bulldozer weighing three tanks (152.6 tons) continues the top ten largest machines in the world. If we compare it with a traditional conventional bulldozer, then it rakes with a blade 3 times more than its counterparts. The Komatsu D575A is 1.5 m long, 7.5 m wide and 4.9 m high. The machine is used in US coal mines and is called the “King” of bulldozers.

On the 7th place in the list of the largest machines in the world - the Liebherr T282B dump truck. The brainchild, created by the Liebherr company, is not much inferior to the record holders. It is the leader among machines in terms of carrying capacity. The dump truck is designed for heavy work in quarries. It has been specially designed to work in the difficult conditions of South Africa, Canada and Australia, and is capable of going anywhere.

The monster is 14.5 m long, 7.4 m high, 9 m wide and weighs 232 tons. The machine can carry loads 1.5 times its own weight (up to 363 tons). A small house can be placed in its back. A powerful unit under the hood hides a 20-cylinder engine with a capacity of more than 3,500 hp. with., and the fuel tank holds 4,730 liters.

The Caterpillar 797B dump truck continues to rank as the largest machines in the world. He successfully works in coal mines, in gold and copper quarries. The dimensions of the mining dump truck are impressive: height - 8 m, length - 15 m, and width - 9.5 m. Its weight is 280 tons, and the carrying capacity is up to 345 tons. This rather high-speed machine can reach speeds of up to 68 km / h. Huge fuel tank holds 6800 liters.

BelAZ 75710 is in the middle of the rating of the largest machines in the world. This dump truck was designed to work in coal mines. The beginning of production - 2013, deliveries were made to the Kemerovo region. The height of such a giant truck is more than a three-story building (8.17 m), the length of the car is 20.6 m, and the width is 9.75 m.The weight of BelAZ 75710 is 360 tons. It is able to immediately transfer up to 500 tons of any cargo, which is 5 railway cars. Only one wheel of a dump truck weighs 8 tons, and the volume of the fuel tank is more than 4300 liters.

The engine noise of the giant truck is so loud that you need to be in it with headphones. The price of the miracle dump truck is also considerable - $ 6 million.

The huge Terex 33-19 Titan dump truck was manufactured in 1974 in one copy by the well-known company General Motors in the Canadian division. It was created for hard work in mines (quarries). The three-axle cargo monster has conscientiously worked for two decades in the pits of Canada, transporting up to 350 tons of various cargoes at a time, it itself weighs 235 tons.

The dimensions of this machine were the largest on the planet among dump trucks: the length is 20 m, the height is 6.9 m. The maximum speed is up to 48 km / h.

Now Terex 33-19 Titan has been on vacation for a long time (since 1992) and is an interesting attraction for thousands of visitors to one of the museums located in British Columbia, Canada.

In third place among the largest machines in the world - Zoomlion ZACB01. It is the largest mobile crane not only in size but also in terms of lifting capacity. The novelty of construction equipment was produced in 2012 in China, the release of the machine is specially designed for the 20th anniversary of the manufacturer "Zoomlion".

The lifting capacity of the crane is 2000 tons, the telescopic boom of 8 sections extends. The machine can freely move loads in any direction at a distance of 160 m. The weight of the crane is 96 tons, and the lifting capacity is 20 times greater.

The second line of the rating goes to Bagger 288 - the world's largest excavator, 240 meters long and 96 meters high. Such a monster weighs 13,000 tons, it has no equal in strength and dimensions. The rotary giant excavator extracts up to 230 tons of coal per day. In a few days, he performs such a volume of work that his fellows could not cope with in six months.

At the minimum speed (0.6 km / h), in order to relieve the load on the ground, the Bagger 288 excavator is equipped with 12 tracks, each 3.8 m. Thus, the designers reduced the pressure of the giant machine to the human foot. Therefore, the giant can safely move even in the fields without harm to the soil.

For one shift of the work of a unique machine, 4 people are needed: a shift supervisor, 2 excavators and a belt conveyor coordinator. The miracle machine is guided by joysticks. Ideal conditions for comfortable work have been created; inside there is a room with a kitchen and a bathroom.

Nowadays, the world is absolutely overflowing with cars. Especially "lucky" to observe this is the residents of large cities who spend hours in traffic jams to get to their place of work or study. Did you know that the most big cars in the world are so huge that they will not fit on a regular road? At the same time, they are able to do the work that can be done by dozens or even hundreds of small machines. We invite you to familiarize yourself with the ranking of these giants.

LeTourneau road trains

In the rules road traffic A road train is a vehicle to which a trailer is attached. One. But in the history of mechanical engineering there is a case when a road train reached an impressive length of 140 m and "pulled" not one, but three trailers.

In the 50s. of the last century, the US Army experienced problems with the supply of remote military places where there was no railroad. They turned to the domestic company LeTourneau to build a super-car that can carry tons of cargo on board.

This unique road train was born in 1954 under the LeTourneau LCC-1 model. It consisted of a truck acting as a locomotive and three wagons on wheels. To ensure that the entire structure could easily cover many kilometers of the road, each wheel was equipped with its own electric motor. Additionally, the road train had a generator - a 600-horsepower diesel engine, which was housed in the locomotive.

The experimental project was to the liking of the military, so in 1958 they invested in the creation of a new train on wheels. The TC-497 Overland Train Mark II consisted of a locomotive with 14 carriages and reached a length of 180 m. The crew driving the road train was housed in a large cabin located at a 9 m height.

This huge car could withstand a load of 150 tons. He could move up to 650 km. At the same time, the maximum speed was 32 km / h.

Over time, the American government did not have the money to finance this project and the huge cars turned into museum pieces. The first model is on display at a museum in Alaska. The second is in the Arizona Museum.

To work with rocks, people have come up with very large cars. They are capable of lifting from the bowels of the earth or carrying hundreds of tons of cargo, and they themselves weigh enough to perform the assigned tasks.

One of these super cars is the T282B from the German company Liebherr. This is a dump truck with an engine power of 3650 hp, weighing 232 tons. The dimensions of the car are also decent: its height reaches almost 7.5 m, the width is 9 m, and the length is 14.5 m. filling tank fits 4730 liters of fuel.

The Liebherr T282B dump truck is called the vehicle with the largest payload in the world. At a time, he is able to transport about 363 tons of rock.

In the photo you can see that this monster dump truck has huge wheels. They are made specifically for this model over the course of several months. An interesting fact is that they are always in short supply - the Liebherr T282B "wears out" them faster than a new set is produced.

This supercar lags slightly behind the previous participant in our rating in terms of carrying capacity - BelAZ transports 320 tons of cargo per trip. But at the same time, it is also considered one of the most gigantic machines in the whole world.

The weight of the famous BelAZ is prohibitive - about 560 tons. It reaches 15 m in length. The fuel tank can be filled with 4375 liters of fuel.

The dump truck has an extremely powerful engine - a turbodiesel with 18 cylinders Cummins QSK78-C. Its volume is 77 liters, while the maximum power reaches 3.5 thousand hp.

The motor is so powerful that it functions very loudly. Therefore, BelAZ drivers are required to work only in specially designed headphones that protect their hearing and allow them to keep in touch with each other.

Terex 33-19 "Titan" until recently was the largest car in the world, but technical progress does not stand still and larger and more powerful cars have appeared. Today, this miracle of technology is an open-air exhibit in one of the cities of Canada.

During active work, the Titan transported 350 tons of rock at a time.

The length of the dump truck reaches 20 m, the height is 7 m.If you pull out the unloading tank, the height of the vehicle increases to 17 m.

The Japanese Komatsu car is the largest bulldozer on our planet. It is capable of moving volumes of soil several times larger than the capabilities of standard bulldozers.

The weight of the car is as much as 153 tons, and the capacity of the fuel tank of this heavyweight record holder reaches 2100 liters. It has three speeds for moving in both directions.

Bulldozer dimensions: length - almost 12 m, height - 5 m, width - about 7 m. The Komatsu D575A-3 SD motor has a power of 1150 hp. This turbodiesel is equipped with 12 cylinders.

Another oversized dump truck refers to machines for working in quarries and mines. It transports coal, ore and other minerals. First commissioned in 2002.

Its length reaches 15 m, and its height is 8 m. The Caterpillar 797B weighs as much as 280 tons. A career auto monster can carry one and a half times more cargo than it weighs itself (345 tons). Its fuel tank is considered one of the most capacious - up to 6800 liters.

A distinctive feature of this dump truck from other representatives of our rating is the speed of movement. It can travel at a record rate of 68 km / h.

New modification of the model from Caterpillar- 797F - was presented to the public in 2008. This bulldozer is considered the most massive of its kind for quarry work - it is popular in the States and in the countries of the Western Hemisphere. Carries 363 tons of cargo at a time, weighs the same as the previous model. The increase in carrying capacity made it possible to increase the efficiency of its use in work.

How can one single car provide electricity to an entire city? Yes, maybe when it comes to the largest Goliath excavator. It was made in a single copy for work in a coal mine in Canada.

The coal seam in the quarry is located at a depth of 20 m, and the excavator must get to the rock and extract it by itself. He easily copes with the task, removing 48 thousand tons of soil from the bowels every day. Therefore, its dimensions are impressive - 65 m. In height, 122 m. Boom length and 250 tons of weight of the bucket alone.

The machine is controlled by only two machine operators. But when servicing, you have to involve a whole team of mechanics.

This giant excavator can move independently. Instead of wheels and tracks, he has two special skis, which he rearranges alternately. But the speed of movement is insignificant - up to 350 m / h.

Cranes on wheels help you to accomplish many tasks when you need to move loads over short distances. Standard truck cranes are mobile, but have a rather low lifting capacity. Therefore, specialists from Germany have created a huge machine Mammoth LTM.

This truck crane has 9 pairs of wheels. It takes more than 8 hours to get it ready for use. But it can lift 1200 tons at a time to a height of 175 m. For stability, the machine is equipped with hydraulic supports.

Special car "Van Hall"

We have already learned about auto makers for quarries and mines. But on highways some kind of record holders also ride - the largest Cars ambulance from the Belgian company "Van Hall".

The cars are popular in Europe and the Middle East. They can accommodate 45 people on board, including staff. These ambulances are very reminiscent of an inpatient hospital on wheels. Vehicle length - 18 m.

Passenger car Bugatti Type 41 "La Royale"

Rare a car is the record holder among all mass-produced passenger cars in the world. The year of release of this coupe is 1927, today only 6 copies of such equipment remain in private collections.

This giant reaches about 7 m in length. The engine, with a volume of 12.7 liters, has a power of 300 hp.

A person in our time does not have enough physical strength to do all the hard work. Therefore, he used his brain power and created the most gigantic cars that perfectly cope with the tasks. Excavators and dump trucks, road trains and bulldozers of huge dimensions are designed to greatly facilitate the life of people.
