Ivan Sardaev, a 67-year-old resident of the city of Topki, began inventing and creating various vehicles almost 20 years ago.
In 1993, together with his wife, daughter and son, he returned from Vorkuta to the city of his childhood and built a house in four months. It turned out to be large, spacious, with an area of 150 squares.

Well, about four years after we moved and settled down, I got tired of cleaning the snow after a blizzard in the winter: you work with a shovel, and your hands get tired. Like it or not, you involuntarily start to think with your head, - the pensioner laughs.

Snow removal equipment by Ivan Sardaev.

In the beginning there were scooters

Ivan Vasilievich admits: he was fascinated by technology since childhood. Even as a child, he assembled scooters either with bearings or with wheels from a baby carriage. But it was back in 1997 that the tricycle snowblower became his first full-fledged invention. She was unusual - she had two wheels in front, and one - steerable - behind. As the inventor now recalls, the car was weak - it could only rake snow on the paths. He decided to improve it and assembled a model a little more complicated, then another. And then he got so involved in the process that he began to create already snow blowers with buckets and auger machines. And not only them.

The very first snow blower of Topkinets was a three-wheeled one.

In 2007, Ivan Sardaev even published an article about three of his models in the "Modelist-Constructor" magazine, and two years later - about the security system. He invented it and installed it in his house, if necessary, she sends him a signal to his mobile phone.

Several bucket snow blowers, a pair of auger-rotor machines and a pair of pneumatic snowmobiles - this is an incomplete list of mobile equipment that Ivan Vasilyevich collected until 2013. And all this in his free time from work - despite his age, he still fixes TVs for people. And four years ago, his son gave him a computer, and when the pensioner mastered the Internet, new ideas appeared. One of the last was the idea to make an all-terrain vehicle on a caterpillar track with your own hands.

And the roof is from "Moskvich"

He began to embody the idea in 2015, and it took Ivan Sardaev a year and a half to create an unusual machine. Most of the details in the S-10 all-terrain vehicle, this name was given to his brainchild by the inventor - from "Zhiguli" of various models. The rear axle, the engine and the gearbox are from the "classics", the rollers in the tracks are from the eleventh VAZ model. Many parts were collected from neighbors who, by the way, admire the master's golden hands, or were picked up at auto-parsing and metal collection points. The roof of the all-terrain vehicle is from "Moskvich", but the caterpillars had to be thought over and assembled completely to the last detail. For them, the inventor even had to buy a conveyor belt from a store.
A pneumatic snowmobile is another machine collected by hand TV master from Topki.

In total, Ivan Vasilyevich spent more than 30 thousand rubles on certain purchases for his brainchild.

Most of all I had to tinker with the caterpillars, - the pensioner admits. - It was a very painstaking work that required special care. After all, there is something wrong, you will miss a little and everything, either the teeth will cling, or the tape will slide out, and in both cases the car will not run.

This is how the all-terrain vehicle looked in the summer of 2016.

Currently, the Topkinets are testing their all-terrain vehicle. On a flat road, it can move at a speed of 35-40 kilometers per hour, and on virgin snow, the speed decreases by about half. By the way, instead of a steering wheel, it has two control levers, like a tractor, and the driver and passenger - a two-seater all-terrain vehicle - is always warm, the interior is heated by two stoves.

Until further the yard and the street where his house is located, Ivan Sardaev does not drive his invention. But in the future, after the car passes tests at other times of the year, he hopes to register it, as it should be. But the creator does not want to sell it, even for 350 thousand rubles, which was appreciated by such a technique on one of the sites. You need such an all-terrain vehicle yourself.
C-10 tracked all-terrain vehicle of a Kuzbass pensioner. Ivan Sardaev worked on the all-terrain vehicle for a year and a half. The VAZ-2103 engine, the cabin is the top of the Moskvich-2140 cabin.

Lightweight ATVs with oversized cameras are capable of tackling rough terrain that other types of SUVs cannot. Self-made vehicles of this type are simple, as complex technical base do not have under them, and this has won the recognition of the majority of home craftsmen. Such a technique is especially demanded by residents of rural areas, where precipitation greatly reduces the quality of roads, as well as among fans of hunting, fishing and extreme recreation.

Varieties of homemade all-terrain vehicles

Depending on the type of construction and chassis, the following types of homemade all-terrain vehicles are distinguished:

  1. Boat swamp vehicles. They have a simple design and are relatively cheap to manufacture. Equipped with an outboard motor and allow you to move around shallow water.
  2. Crawler swamp vehicle allows you to ride on overgrown reservoirs, but it is quite difficult and expensive to manufacture, as it requires the attachment of a special type of caterpillar.
  3. All-terrain vehicle on tires low pressure - the simplest and most promising type of swamp-going vehicle, the performance of which depends on the design and reliability of the tires.

Some homemade products later become serial models. This happened with, which is now known all over the world.

Types of low-pressure homemade ATVs

Self-made all-terrain vehicles on low-pressure tires, having the same principle of off-road movement, can differ in type of design. There are the following main types of vehicles of this type:

1. All-wheel drive karakat ... In its design, it uses elements of transmission and chassis from outdated types of passenger cars. It has four-wheel drive, transfer case, and the adapted hull of the boat in its lower part and tightness add buoyancy to the all-terrain vehicle. Designed to overcome swamps and swamps, is able to deliver goods and people to inaccessible areas.

2. Low pressure tricycle... Differs in the most simple design, and can be made by almost any car enthusiast in a garage. The basis for such an all-terrain vehicle is often the IZH Planet 3 motorcycle, thanks to its endurance and unpretentiousness.

3. Homemade karakat with motorized sidecar SZD... Its peculiarity is the location of the engine not under the frame or gas tank, but under the seat or in the rear of the all-terrain vehicle frame. Suspension parts are traditionally taken from cars, and motorcycle elements are used in the front. For the manufacture of the frame, pipes, channels and corners are used.

4. Low-pressure ATVs based on passenger cars or ATVs... They are made using ready-made main units by altering the transmission and chassis, as well as equipping them with low-pressure tires.

How to make an all-terrain vehicle on low pressure tires?

Work on the manufacture of an all-terrain vehicle begins with drawing up an action plan, the full implementation of which means achieving the desired result. The following tips can help you save time and money:

  1. Availability of free time, allowing you to regularly carry out work on the assembly of the all-terrain vehicle. In its absence, it is better not to start at all.
  2. Budget planning. Self-creation of an all-terrain vehicle allows you to save on the purchase of a serial model, but in order to eliminate unnecessary expenses, you need to make all the calculations and buy the necessary components and parts, as well as leave a certain amount for unforeseen expenses or breakdowns.
  3. Developing a plan. If you have experience in the development of vehicles or the makings of a design engineer, it is possible to independently create a drawing of an all-terrain vehicle. In the absence of such, they use someone else's experience and ready-made drawings, of which there are a sufficient number of them on the Internet.

DIY low pressure tires

Tires of this type visually resemble huge cushions that support the entire structure. The degree of adhesion in such wheels makes it possible to make the vehicle passable on any off-road. Depending on the design features, such tires are divided into the following types:

  1. Arched. They differ in increased dimensions in comparison with a standard wheel in width by 5 times, and have a thickness of up to 700 mm. The pressure in them is like in a regular ball - 0.05 MPa. Fits exclusively on the master drive.
  2. Wide-profile. They differ in oval design and up to 2 times lower than standard pressure. They are more often used in lifting transport.
  3. Toroidal. They are made in chamber and tubeless versions and are highly popular among motorists.
  4. Pneumatic roller having lugs to improve cross-country characteristics, and ribs to increase rigidity, which give the entire structure stability and strength.

Factory-made low-pressure tires can be too expensive for many car enthusiasts. But for your own all-terrain vehicle, it is quite possible to make such a wheel on your own. The work is carried out in the following order:

1. The choice of starting material, for example, tires of agricultural or aviation equipment, as well as other types of industrial vehicles.

2. The tread is cleaned, washed and dried, after which the desired patterns are drawn to create your own pattern, as well as remove excess wire and rubber.

3. To remove excess wire, the inner part of the wheel is trimmed and the cords are removed with a.

4. Excess rubber is also removed with a winch, making cuts around the circumference and securing them with pliers to the cable, carefully pulling and cutting with a knife.

5. After removing the tread layer, sand the surface with sandpaper.

6. Build the disc. To do this, use a standard disc cut in half, or welded from plates and pipes, and then carefully polished to prevent damage to the chamber.

7. The tire is stretched over the disc and secured with belts or a fire hose, after which it is inflated. The wheel is ready.

How to choose the type of tread for an all-terrain vehicle?

To select the right type of tread for an ATV with low pressure tires, the following factors must be considered:

  1. The protector must be self-cleaning. This property is especially important for the use of the all-terrain vehicle in harsh and wetlands.
  2. When using an all-terrain vehicle on peat bogs, tires are chosen with a low and shallow relief, otherwise, if their top layer breaks, the grip will be insufficient for full-fledged movement.
  3. When used in snowy areas and on sandstones, tires with a rare pattern are chosen.

Choosing an engine for an all-terrain vehicle

Most often as a power unit for self-made all-terrain vehicle use the following type:

  1. Motorcycle.
  2. ZAZ car.
  3. Motoblock.
  4. Domestic cars.

The presence of a specific engine in the all-terrain vehicle does not have fundamental difference... It is more important to take into account such a feature as ensuring its sufficient cooling, since the vehicle is operated all year round in various temperature conditions and at a low speed. For this, the ZAZ engine is excellent, it tolerates temperature differences well. All-terrain vehicles operating on motoblock power units have also proven themselves from the best side.

Another main criterion for choosing an engine for a future homemade product is its power.

The power reserve must be sufficient to allow the ATV on low pressure tires to get out of mud, water, or deep snow.

By choosing a unit with a power reserve, you get the best performance, prevent overheating and create conditions for the longest possible service life.

Features of the chassis of the all-terrain vehicle

The undercarriage of all-terrain vehicles on low-pressure tires is manufactured in the form to give the all-terrain vehicle best qualities cross-country ability, increasing driving comfort vehicle and ride comfort for driver and passengers. This type design has a major drawback - the complexity of manufacturing.

To create it, pipes, corners and channels made of durable alloy steel are used, creating a strong base that can go out for several years without breakdowns. The frame is made both solid and articulated. The latter has a high working potential, but the complexity of manufacturing makes it quite rare in homemade designs.

The sequence of self-assembly of the all-terrain vehicle

Assembling an off-road vehicle on low pressure tires includes the following steps:

1. Selecting the type of all-terrain vehicle and the base on which the units and parts will be mounted. For this, the frames of cars or motorcycles are used, as well as a home-made structure, developed in-house or borrowed from someone else's drawings.

2. Manufacturing and assembly of the rear axle suspension. For this, the optimal solution is independent design, and, although much more time will be spent on its creation, in the end you will get an all-terrain vehicle with more high qualities cross-country ability and ride comfort.

3. Installation of wheels. It is produced after the completion of work on the creation of the rear axle and suspension. Metal hubs are used to mount the cameras. Correctly manufactured or selected low pressure wheels will provide the ATV with increased driving safety and good handling.

4. Installation of the engine. Particular attention is paid to the correct design of the cooling system.

5. Installation of additional systems. Includes connection brake system, offtake communications exhaust gases, clutch and. At this stage, the all-terrain vehicle body and lighting fixtures are being installed.

6. Completion of work and implementation of a trial test, which shows the performance of nodes and systems. If there are any problems or points that need to be improved, the deficiencies are eliminated, after which the all-terrain vehicle is ready for operation.

Video of testing a homemade all-terrain vehicle

In many villages, and even more so in remote areas, in order to get to the desired sites, special equipment is required. The situation is worse during rainy or frosty seasons. To increase their own mobility, many residents of such settlements prefer to create a caterpillar all-terrain vehicle with their own hands. This is due to the remoteness from large cities and the high cost of factory models.

A similar tracked mini-all-terrain vehicle is a single-seat transport, whose carrying capacity is about 200 kg. The width parameters of the future technology are calculated depending on the required stability parameters while driving. The power plant is applied from the old domestic cars and should give out 50 or more liters. with. Such parameters are enough for driving at a speed of 20-30 km / h. But off-road, when there is movement on swampy terrain, the average speed is 10-15 km / h.

The all-terrain vehicle has excellent cross-country ability in wetlands

Required spare parts and materials for the manufacture of the machine

Usually, homemade all-terrain vehicles on tracks consist of elements that you can buy or make yourself. So, when the unit is created from a walk-behind tractor, then the following elements are included in its design:

  1. The frame is in the form of the main load-bearing element, to which all nodes are attached.
  2. Rear axle for mounting rear wheels.
  3. Track belt as well as track tensioner.
  4. Control system.
  5. Fuel tank.
  6. The driver's seat, which is recommended to be protected from possible ingress of dirt on it while driving.
  7. A lighting system that allows you to move safely even at night.

It is recommended to equip such a transport with a reduction gear, as well as a forced cooling system. power plant... One air flow while driving at low speeds is not enough to maintain the proper thermal regime. The frame is installed between the front and rear axles using square tubes as a base.

This will stiffen the structure. At the same time, it is recommended to make the joining of the frame elements rigid to get a one-volume homemade tracked all-terrain vehicle.

One of the most crucial moments is the creation of a sketch of the future unit. On such drawings, it is required to clearly indicate the location of all mechanisms and assemblies as accurately as possible. The choice of parts (home-made or factory-made) is determined depending on their performance and the load to which they will be subjected. An installation removed from an old car (often domestic) is used as a power plant. If the unit is made small, then the power of the motorcycle engine will suffice.

ATV drawing

As for the undercarriage, it looks like rubber tracks, a special tensioning system, suspension and forks. In order to create the tracks themselves, old car tires are often used. A metal frame is used as the basis for the undercarriage. But to create a control system, you need to use ready-made elements borrowed from cars or motorcycles. Homemade swamp vehicles are equipped with a power system, where the entire fuel supply is stored in a special tank. Often it is gasoline or diesel, gas power plants are rarely used.

The process of creating homemade all-terrain vehicles with a tracked undercarriage structure begins with the installation of the body. This item must be highly durable and waterproof. The base is created rigid, for which steel pipes are used, which are able to withstand loads several times higher than those that arise during movement. After that, the installation of the tracks themselves is carried out. For this purpose, a common rubber sheet is used, from which an annular rubber is made. Further, special aluminum blades are attached to it from the outside. On the reverse side, limiters are mounted, having a step width not greater than the width of the wheels.

After that, the bridges are removed through special holes in the body. For protection, it is worth using rubber couplings. The tape itself is attached so that the leading front and rear wheels were between the restraints. Further, additional wheels are installed and fixed between the main ones. They are needed to maintain the tape.

Upon completion of all work, heavy-duty glass must be installed in the cab to prevent dirt from getting inside.

As individual elements, as well as parts of the structure, are created, it is recommended to check them for strength and performance. It is recommended to provide at least 5 times the safety factor level in order to increase the reliability of the future unit. As soon as the bench tests are completed, you can start testing the all-terrain vehicle in field conditions... This will allow you to evaluate the behavior of the transport.

Photos of the coolest homemade all-terrain vehicles

One of the popular models of light all-terrain vehicles is Karakat:

Also, all-terrain vehicles of the caterpillar type were created in other states and had the following appearance:

Another domestic homemade product is frame structure equipped with a gearbox, as well as disc brakes:

All-terrain vehicles excel in difficult road conditions

Minsk resident Boris Karavkin. And recently Yuri Pidgaetsky from Molodechno decided to build an interesting homemade all-terrain vehicle on caterpillar from "Muscovite" and Volkswagen. What came out of the symbiosis of components and assemblies of Soviet and German cars, read our material.

"Come to Molodechno, we have made a tracked all-terrain vehicle here" - such a message came to the editorial mail recently. The designer did not manage to send the photos, so until the very last moment we had no idea what we were going to shoot.

And when we drove up to Yuri's house, they just fell out of the sediment from his all-terrain vehicle. This is something incredible live! It seems that the car arrived in Molodechno straight from the set of films about zombies, the apocalypse or Mad Max.

Below - a caterpillar "cart", on top - a shortened body from "Moskvich-2141", painted in a military khaki color. Live car looks very unusual. This has never happened before in our "Autoexotics" section!

“I have been fond of homemade products since childhood, I went to the circles of model designers,” says Yuri Pidgaetsky. I know - it's just that my hands are always itching to do something like that ... "

Before the trip, we will study the technical component of the "monster". A car was made without drawings - by eye. A solid frame is assembled from shaped pipes, sheathed with tin. A shortened body of a "Muscovite" was later installed on it. Yuri says that he fiddled with him the most.

The radiator and stove are located at the front. There is still room under the hood for various little things. So the car has almost two trunks.

There is no back row of seats. Instead, there is a huge trunk, under which is hidden power unit and transmission. As you can see, the all-terrain vehicle turned out to be very practical.

The most interesting thing is hidden under the boot floor. Gasoline 1.8-liter engine from the old Volkswagen passat is almost in the middle, but unlike passenger car located not transversely, but longitudinally. Next comes the 5-speed gearbox from the same car with a welded differential.

From it - a kind of cardan to the rear "Zhiguli" bridge. Exhaust pipes brewed from scratch, fuel tank homemade.

The rear axle differential is naturally free. The torque is transmitted to the rear rollers. They also have brake discs from the old Volkswagen Golf.

As you already understood, brakes are needed not only to stop the car, but also to control it. We pull on the right control lever - we act on the caliper of the right roller, as a result, the car turns to the right. We pull the left lever towards ourselves - we turn to the left. There is no brake pedal - to brake, you need to pull on both levers.

Yuri made a caterpillar from a conveyor belt and metal shaped tubes for a week and a half. Conventional automobile rollers are used as rollers. wheel disks... Each track has a tensioning mechanism. According to the craftsman, the suspension is made from what was - on each side there are three struts with springs and shock absorbers.

Interior elements are taken from the same "Muscovite". Everything works inside, including the radio and the stove. Conventionally, the number of seats can be defined as 2 + 1 - in the cabin, albeit in tight quarters, but three of us can accommodate. Gear shifting is reversed.

Now hold on to the chair - Yuri's all-terrain vehicle can swim! Everything is sealed inside - the "Muscovite" does not sink. True, so far there has not been enough courage for full-fledged water tests. The car drove into the lake, but held on to the bottom with the back of the caterpillar. The front of the all-terrain vehicle did not sink! In general, the car should float, but Yuri has no desire to fully launch it into the water - it's a pity to drown such a technique.

The armor is strong and our tanks are fast - we are going to test the equipment in the fields! By the way, the all-terrain vehicle has not yet been properly tested - Yuri drove it only a few times. So we, together with the designer, will probe its capabilities, positive and negative qualities.

But first you need to get into the car, and for this - remember the army days. You need to climb on a car just like in the army on an infantry fighting vehicle, that is, as you can, you climb.

First comment after our Instagram post: "Will the ATV roll forward with emergency braking?" We braked at low speeds - we didn't roll over. Still, despite the considerable height, the center of gravity is located low - where the engine, rollers and tracks are. Yuri developed before us maximum speed 60 km / h, slowed down, but not urgently - the car did not overturn. To brake strongly at high speed while there is no desire - first you need to install three-point belts and a roll cage. It seems that the car should not turn over, but in order to check this for sure, it is better to work on safety first. So, just in case.

You sit behind the wheel, ugh - with levers, very high. There has never been such a tall "Muscovite" in history! The cabin is very noisy while driving, but it cannot be said that this is a drawback. Noise enhances the emotion of driving. You really drive like in a tank.

I always dreamed of traveling on tracked vehicles, it's a pity I didn't manage to steer anything in the army. It's time to catch up!

The clutch and gas are just like in a normal car, nothing special. It is difficult to find the gears, the switching scheme is inverted, which blows up the brain, there are also problems with clarity, but you can choose any gear, because the car starts off at any speed, at least from the third exactly. There is no "lowering" in the transmission, the lowered row in this car is already made by default, so in first gear you can climb at the speed of a turtle.

I turn on the gear (though I don’t know which one), abruptly let go of the clutch pedal and press on the gas - the car slightly rears up and starts abruptly with a noise! To be honest, I don't even know how to describe emotions. This is something incredible! There is very little snow, there are no special obstacles, but from the ride on this "monster" you just want to scream with delight! A very unusual feeling. The engine is roaring, the tracks are pounding, my heart is bursting out of my chest - this is the most emotional test drive of my career! Words cannot describe how cool it is to ride this self-made caterpillar.

To turn, you need to put a lot of effort on the levers. But the maneuverability is not bad: we squeeze the "gas" to the floor, abruptly pull the left lever with all our strengths with both hands - the all-terrain vehicle starts turning the "dimes" in place! And homemade caterpillars do not fall off the rollers - the strength of the structure is felt.

Immediately I remember the famous obscene video about a warrant officer and tankers: "Once, with a turn, turned on the front - and went!"

Off-road performance? Ground clearance- 380 mm, no overhangs, but there are tracks. It is a pity, for some reason there was very little snow in Molodechno - it was not possible to check how the car drives through deep snow. But again, there is enough emotion without off-road obstacles. You just go - and your eyes are already on your forehead!

But we drove along the ditch - the all-terrain vehicle passes through it very well. But so far Yuri has no idea when the car will start to fall back. Therefore, they did not take large slides - the driver is simply afraid to turn the all-terrain vehicle over.

In theory, everything should be fine - the center of gravity is low. But in practice, you need to make a frame, belts - and even then try to feel the stability limit of the all-terrain vehicle. There is a feeling that he is capable of a lot, but so far it is simply scary to break him - so much work has been invested in the technique.

Finally, we still try to feel this edge again, but on the rise, the connection between the rollers and the engine is unexpectedly lost! The all-terrain vehicle rolls back - and remains on the ice, which is covered with cracks along the edges. An attempt to turn on the gear and move off leads nowhere. Only the grinding of metal is heard - the car does not drive. Have sailed!

It turned out that the cardan had torn. Moreover, he broke on the first test. However, you shouldn't even worry about it - Yuri already has a solution to the problem. Next cardan shaft will be so strong that it will withstand everything.

It is normal when something goes wrong with new technology. So far, only one has been found at the all-terrain vehicle weakness, there are no other "snot". And this is very good! The machine was built from scratch by one person, has not yet been tested - and only the drive breaks down. In the evening of the same day, the designer repaired the all-terrain vehicle and drove out of the ditch.

As a result - a complete delight. You are simply amazed at the talent of Yuri Pidgaetsky, who made such a car from scrap materials! He had some spare parts, he had to buy something - in the end, he spent about $ 800 on the construction. For this money, you can't even buy a frail ATV, but here you get a whole "monster" - an all-terrain vehicle on a caterpillar track. Bravo to its creator!

Homemade all-terrain vehicles on tracks: schemes for their construction and basic layout - from the Oka, Zhiguli, Volga, motorcycle and improvised means. Correct drawings and construction features with your own hands, so that the car turns out to be maneuverable and passable, and production takes a minimum of time. In order to assemble a full-fledged floating tracked all-terrain vehicle in your garage, you don't need so much - parts old car, corners and tubes for the frame, welding machine, locksmith tools and enthusiasm.

If you want to assemble an all-terrain vehicle based on the UAZ, Volga, Gazelle, VAZ, Moskvich and other cars, then it is not recommended to use the body from them, and even from the "Oka" it is heavy. The body is comfortable from the point of view of comfort, but the car's passability is deteriorating, fuel consumption increases, and it will be very difficult to make it floating. Therefore, it is advisable to cook the body yourself from light sheet metal, and make a safety cage around it so that you do not break your neck after crashing into a tree or turning over.

How to make a swivel mechanism and calculate the permeability?

In fact, all home-made off-road vehicles on tracks have the simplest device. Stands behind rear axle with a differential from a rear-wheel drive car - usually from a Zhiguli. The drive rollers are driven through this rear axle from the engine via the gearbox. Turns are carried out using separate braking. That is, you need to draw two separate paths to the right and left.

Diagram of a rotary-braking mechanism in a tracked all-terrain vehicle with a wheel

How to make management - here everyone decides for himself. It is possible from two brake cylinders and levers to pitch a semblance of control as on a tractor or tank. You can come up with pedals, and transfer the clutch and gas to your hands. The vacuum for the brake booster is taken from the engine, or a compressor is hung on a separate pulley.

The most simple circuit the construction of a tracked all-terrain vehicle is to take a Zhiguli, lift it onto a frame, attach additional rollers and tracks to it, and make separate braking. And everything will run.

Calculations of the specific pressure on snow are quite simple. For a skier, it is equal to 200 grams per cm2. Very good bog-rovers have about 60 grams. That is, you need to take the total mass of the all-terrain vehicle and the area of the caterpillar, from this and dance. ...

The scheme of a floating all-terrain vehicle should imply the presence of an air tank on the frame, or sealed sides. But here you still need to think about stability, for this the engine and heavy units are located in the center of the all-terrain vehicle.

Drawings and diagrams

It makes no sense to build such a car according to the drawings. Simply because everyone has different needs, everyone has their own details and set of source material. Someone's old Zhiguli is gathering dust in the garage, and someone will sculpt an all-terrain vehicle from an old Ural motorcycle. Homemade, it is a homemade product that is designed from scratch and built from improvised means.

But there are a few important details to consider. First, the frame and frame must be strong.

Hardness car body there is even a lot in the forest, its mass is superfluous, but no one canceled collisions with trees and coups.

Secondly, many home-made all-terrain vehicles on tracks have a high center of gravity. The same Zhiguli on caterpillars are frankly dangerous, since any slope or ditch can cause overturning.

Thirdly, if it is planned to go winter fishing on a homemade all-terrain vehicle, then emergency escape routes should be provided. And this is once again that the body from the Oka or a passenger car can be dangerous for such purposes. I fell into the wormwood, and you can't get out. In the same GTT, the doors open slightly upward, there is a hatch on top for leaving - this was not done in vain.

Safety comes first. In addition, it is worth remembering about the fire hazard, do not remove the muffler, be sure to carry a fire extinguisher with you, and so on.

How to make a homemade all-terrain vehicle on tracks extremely cheaply, safely and efficiently? You just need to have a tool and a place for construction, and the cost of parts and metal, given the availability of used Zhiguli or OK, can not even be taken into account.
