Cars like new Toyota Land Cruiser 200 (aka LC 200) will always cause quite conflicting feelings in people. Looking at such a car, someone will say that these are just "show-offs", which are easy to replace with the same UAZ Patriot and save a lot of money as a result. The difference of several million is not clear to everyone. And those who still understand it will probably say that the "show-off" did not pass by here, because first of all the "two hundredth" is needed for serious conquest of the off-road: where it will be able to pass, not everyone will pass. Despite the 2016 update, which became the largest modernization for Kruzak since 2007, the well-proven spar frame is still with him. The update made the SUV even more attractive, confident and uncompromising, while the model did not lose its main merits, for which one can only applaud Toyota engineers and designers. Design

The LC 200's strong sales and reputation make it clear that it is based on a very successful concept. And if it is successful, then why reinvent the wheel, Toyota thought and decided to just tweak the model's appearance, and not introduce drastic changes... "Kruzak" is still recognizable and looks equally great both in the big city and in the taiga buried in snow.


From predecessor new version it is distinguished by a massive chrome-plated radiator grille with three horizontal strips and large headlights on the sides. The innovations also include other fog optics and a powerful embossed hood, which gives the car a very masculine and somewhat aggressive look. The rest of the exterior details are not affected. The "two-hundredth", as before, has a rather large and emphatically laconic "feed", visually divided into two parts due to a horizontal chrome strip with the Land Cruiser inscription. Wide informative mirrors and large alloy wheels wheels with a beautiful design.

Design

The body of the new LC 200, like the pre-reform version, rests on the spar frame familiar to Toyota fans. The design of the Russian version of "Kruzak" has practically not changed: perhaps the KDSS system that suppresses the rolls has been slightly reconfigured. The diameter of the brake discs at the front has increased from 340 to 354 mm, the control hydraulics have been reconfigured entirely. The manufacturer claims that there is an improvement in brake pedal feedback and actual deceleration rates. The all-wheel drive transmission, as before, is implemented through a Torsen center differential integrated in transfer case... This differential usually divides the torque in a ratio of 40:60, but is able to distribute it in a ratio of 50:50. The forced blocking and the range multiplier, whose gear ratio is 2.618, remained unchanged.

Adaptation to Russian conditions

If there are ideal or near-ideal cars in the world for the roads of our country, then the LC 200 of the 2016 model year is definitely one of them. First, constant four-wheel drive, an impressive 230 mm ground clearance, the Multi Terrain Select (MTS) driving mode system and a number of electronic assistants allow it to confidently enter the harsh Russian off-road. Secondly, it has an indestructible gasoline 309-strong "eight" in combination with an automatic transmission and diesel unit, which has retained the tax-favorable power range, which is very important in Russian realities. Finally, the "200" boasts a rich winter package, which includes heating for all seats, steering wheel, outside mirrors, windscreen and washer nozzles, as well as an additional electric cabin heater. With such a car you won't be lost in the cold, that's for sure.

Comfort

In Russia, the Land Cruiser 200 2016 is offered with a 5- or 7-seater saloon, in which both the front and rear seats have a heating function, and the driver's seat "remembers" the settings in any configuration, except for the basic one. The profile of the seats in the first row is almost perfect, but it would not hurt to lengthen the pillows. The interior of the car is generally spacious and there is ample legroom. Particular spaciousness is observed in the rear of the cabin, where, by the way, the most expensive versions have separate climate control for 2 zones. Interior materials are the same as those of its predecessor, and the ergonomics are clearly better. As for the design, it seems that the developers of "Kruzak" have not been able to decide what their creation should be - a purely practical machine, where there is no place for unnecessary delights, or a really prestigious model.


The front panel has definitely become more ergonomic, while retaining its slightly "old-school" design. It is possible that Toyota is in no hurry to change anything, since most of the "status" owners of the LC 200, in principle, are satisfied with everything. Although, however, why be surprised? It's not the Prius we're talking about. The steering wheel of the "two-hundredth" was as comfortable as it was, so it remained comfortable, and its heating zones are still too small. Dashboard nice, but with readability problem - radial digitization with small spaces between numbers prevents the normal "reading" of the speedometer. Noise isolation of an SUV, alas, cannot be called luxurious. The main reason for the noise is the diesel engine. Ears from it will not block, but annoying sounds from under the hood are always clearly audible. It would not be superfluous to work on the soundproofing of the front doors, so as not to listen to the roar of the engine of a car next to the stream.


After modernization, the LC 200 2016 has become even safer due to the expanded set of "smart" Toyota Safety Sense assistants. From now on, these include systems of circular video review and tire pressure, adaptive cruise control, monitoring of dead zones and auto-switching with high beam to the neighbor. In other words, everything that is almost an obligatory attribute of prestigious cars. In addition to the electronic Toyota Safety Sense assistants, there are "curtains", frontal, side and knee airbags, as well as off-road assistance systems - for example, an assistant when climbing / descending from a mountain or a Multi Terrain Select selector for driving modes.


The infotainment complex Land Cruiser 200 2016 is quite well located and pleases with solid dimensions. The diagonal of the touch screen is up to 9 inches. With the functionality and responsiveness of "multimedia" everything is in order, but the graphics need to be improved. Considering the not unfounded claims of "Kruzak" for luxury, the graphics are not high-quality and elegant. Not spoiled drivers can forgive this shortcoming, but what do they say about the not very clear image from the cameras of the circular video review? Apparently, the Japanese manufacturer has something to think about.

The engine range of the updated LC 200 includes the familiar V-8s with direct injection - gasoline and diesel. Gasoline unit with a volume of 4.6 liters. develops 309 hp. at 5500 rpm and 439 Nm at 3400 rpm, prefers fuel with an octane rating of at least 95 and consumes an average of 13.9 l / 100 km. The 4.5-liter twin-turbo diesel is also very powerful, producing 249 hp. at 2800-3600 rpm (14 hp more than before) and as much as 650 Nm at 1600-2600 rpm, consumes about 10.2 l / 100 km in the combined cycle and now meets the Euro-5 eco-standard ... Both engines are combined with permanent all-wheel drive and six-speed automatic transmission... Regardless of the modification, acceleration to 100 km / h occurs in just 8.6 seconds, which is an excellent indicator given the large mass of the SUV.

Buying an SUV always involves taking into account a number of nuances. In addition to basic nuances, for example, assessing the design, technical part or trunk capacity, it is necessary to take into account more highly specialized features. One of them, of course, is the volume check fuel tank... For SUVs, this aspect is most relevant, since their "appetite" is not weak. In today's material, our resource would like to consider this issue in more detail regarding the Toyota Land Cruiser 200.

Tank volume: indicators

Toyota Land Cruiser 200 is a model of the series of the same name, produced since 1951. 200th is the last major generation at the moment lineup and began to be produced in 2008. According to their technical specifications this SUV is represented by one of best models corresponding market segment. The opinion about the Toyota Land Cruiser 200 is not unambiguous. It looks serious, but for an amateur, it turned out to be very pouty. The diesel outside is very loud, the tractor seems to work quieter, the competitors are much quieter outside, but inside it is quite quiet, the sound of the engine pesters the first 5 minutes after switching on, keeps the revs up. The machine is nimble, the machine switches smoothly, almost does not drive through traffic jams, the average consumption is 13-15 liters. Last winter in severe frosts for 20 did not start, this problem has not yet been. The suspension is comfortable on standard rims, but it could be better, the same Prado has pneumatic rear. We bought chrome-plated discs of the 20th radius, traveled for a week and removed, gathering dust in the garage, the car became stiffer because of them, which is not surprising and it was known in advance, but it began to float terribly along the road, rush about (besides, when there was a puncture, then repair problem, not every tire service repairs the 20th radius). Nice, but standard and more comfortable and safer. So I do not advise you to put large discs (as you like). Brakes - as you say, I'm used to driving on passenger cars, you must always remember that you weigh 3 tons, and keep enough distance to properly brake you have to hang on the belts. In general, Toyota Land Cruiser 200 is a good and reliable car. Slightly upset by the interior, quality, assembly and savings on trifles. And so great. There are some minor problems though. When choosing Toyota Land Cruiser 200, we stopped at diesel version, since it is more dynamic than a car with a gasoline engine, but in the end it became clear that the difference between them is almost not felt. In addition, for Russia, it is envisaged to undergo maintenance on a diesel engine for every 5 thousand km of run. I was very surprised. The behavior on the road is wonderful, especially considering that the car weighs more than 3 thousand kg. The Toyota Land Cruiser 200 runs smoothly, obeys the steering wheel, brakes perfectly, although I often read in reviews that the brakes are weak (this moment was even seriously embarrassing during the choice). But then they explained to me that it was kind of weak brake system was on the first machines, which were produced at the end of 2007 and in 2008. What the Japanese car industry is superior to ours is that they are quickly working on miscalculations, rather than trying to modernize the 1970s Fiat "penny" car for decades. Visibility is like an aquarium. Volume luggage compartment so huge that it can fit a motorcycle (the third row of seats was removed immediately after purchase). As for the shortcomings, in principle, there is nothing to say, except that the navigation is dull, there are not even many streets of St. Petersburg, to be sure about other cities. I didn't have a better car before the Toyota Land Cruiser 200. I got used to it in the first couple of thousand kilometers. The car is large and sometimes it is not very comfortable to maneuver in cramped yards, cameras and parking sensors saved it. With my height of 194 cm, it was quite comfortable to sit, but my legs got tired on long runs. It was more comfortable to sit in the Pajero, but there was no frame. The car had a light leather interior and the skin had deteriorated in five years of driving with the children. Light skin for Russia is an unacceptable luxury, in winter there are blue marks from wet jeans, which then cannot be removed. I always had a negative attitude towards white, but after visiting Uzbekistan, where all cars are white, I changed my mind. It is quite practical and does not heat up so much in the heat. Loudspeakers Toyota engine Land Cruiser 200 was enough for me both at the start and when overtaking. Maximum speed 180 km per hour on the M-4 highway. But this car is not conducive to racing. On the highway, my average consumption fluctuated around 13 liters per 100 km, in the city and in traffic jams it reached 18 liters per 100 km. Almost immediately after purchasing, I put a Thule roof rack on the roof, it added 1-2 liters to my average consumption. Always start up the first time in summer and winter. I did not change the batteries. It warms up in winter in frost only when driving and cools down quickly. Not enough heating windshield, this option appeared later. Soundproofing in the Toyota Land Cruiser 200 was fine with me. Off-road capabilities at altitude. Any curb, any lane. I did not participate in the raids, but I mixed clay on country and forest roads decently. I planted it only once, drove along the virgin snow in winter and hung on a pedestal of snow, which I myself scooped up. In no car I could comfortably drive on dirt roads at a speed of 40-60 km per hour, except for the Toyota Land Cruiser 200. Five or six times I drove kids in the third row, adults do not fit comfortably there.

In 2012, having sold BMW 650 and Pajero, I decided to buy a car for all occasions. I have not seen other options besides the Toyota Land Cruiser 200. For a very long time I was a fan of the BMW brand (I can't say that it has passed), I think these cars are the best of those on which I drove, but the lack of service in our beloved city constantly threw up a waste of money and time. With the advent of the family, I decided to acquire big car, and most importantly reliable. I have never owned Toyota cars, this is the first experience, the car is really very reliable, I never let it down, I only do MOT every 10,000 km. That 40,000 km and 80,000 km costs 85,000 rubles., The rest 15-20 thousand. Compared with the maintenance of the X5, then of course there is no comment. In terms of handling "trough", in the city more than 200 km a day is already strained, but the "Dalnyak" is an ideal car, a trip from point A to point B will not bring any surprises in terms of technology, but it will not bring much pleasure either. The salon, in my opinion, is satisfactory, no hints of a premium segment, at the same time very functional. The comfort access system works outrageously. The "leather" on the seats worn out very quickly and seems to be cracking soon, changed the covers under warranty. By off-road qualities I didn't really feel it, I drove wherever I wanted. After the engine chip, the car drove differently, a jerk from 0-60 km / h occurs instantly, but when the car rolls, one should act with caution. The braking system deserves special mention, this is of course an absolute failure, when driving from a hill of 80 km / h, it will not work out quickly and, as a rule, constant overheating of the brake discs. So, in general, in our conditions, I do not see an alternative for myself yet.

Dignity : reliable and comfortable car. A very large salon, everything fits. Excellent rear-view mirrors, excellent visibility. Huge display in the center console. Heated steering wheel, seat ventilation. Acceptable fuel consumption. The head light works fine.

disadvantages : manageability. Lack of decent brakes. Comfort Access is intermittent. Eats rubber on the front wheels. The climate works satisfactorily. Low quality paintwork. Poor quality of interior trim.

The process of choosing a car was quite protracted, for a long time I compared the VX medium and GX-R gasoline models. Diesel fundamentally did not consider the mechanics too. I still chose Toyota Land Cruiser 200 with 4.0 V6, the V8 has more than 15% cubic capacity. VGRS, KDDS and Crawl control variable rack systems are not available. I cannot fully describe the car yet, there is very much traction and power. Toyota Land Cruiser 100 drove about 5 years ago to "Ford", so I don't remember everything, how everything was there. Comparing with "Ford Expedition" does not work in any way, completely different cars, but I will try. The suspension on the Toyota Land Cruiser 200, so to speak, does not rock the car. City consumption is slightly less than Ford, since the permanent all-wheel drive adds its own. Although on the track at "Ford" consumption is exactly 11-12 liters at a speed of no more than 120. The box is a good old automatic machine A750, which was put on "hundred parts" and LX470. The Ford tank had 105 liters, the 200's 93 + 45. The additional tank is located above the spare wheel, because of this, the spare wheel itself "hangs" a little even lower than the rear axle itself. Due to the lack of any systems that stifle the moment, the car rowed well off-road. Again, everything is subjective. The rear cross-axle differential is connected only together with the "lowering". The LED head light is a thing, but in Toyota Land Cruiser 200, all headlights shine perfectly, even on old "halogens". The left threshold has bent, the right one is also all scratched deeply, from the dealer they are only under the order, apparently only I are the thresholds of the wildebeest. In plans: purchase of steel discs and seal the windshield with "armored film".

The interest was new Toyota Land Cruiser 200 on "pneuma". "Pneuma" Mercedes perfectly worked out bad, bumpy roads, but, namely, roads, and not the widespread failures of washed soil under the wheels. Here he was powerless. So, Toyota Land Cruiser 200 has been in operation for the fifth month. Like. Very soft and comfortable truck car. Reliable, safe, roomy and beautiful. Made by car. I stitched an ECU under the euro plus tuning from above. Got 305 hp and 780 Nm of torque. The car began to drive and accelerate adequately. I put progressive springs front-to-back, leveling the car horizontally. In front of 3 cm, rear -3 cm. Pecks by the nose of the car were removed during fast braking, and side swing decreased. The new springs are thicker and have more coils. Did external tuning - painted the radiator grille and headlight masks to match the color of the car. I put wheels on 20 inches with increased tires in the size of 275/55 R20. Does not penetrate anywhere.

What's not to like about the Toyota Land Cruiser 200. It's a truck. It is hard to "drive". You must carefully enter the turns. The machine is large and framed. Diesel rattles heavily. I'm used to it. Mercedes has a quieter engine. The stabilizer bushings creak off-road. OD smeared, did not help. They will change. The car clock shows 00-00 at 12 noon. Toyota has recognized its cant of production cars until March 2016 and is changing the GU completely for a revocable campaign. When driving through long puddles, the windshield is heavily flooded, which even has to stop. The change of rubber and "aero-shield" in the front did not help much. The car is high. It's clear. It is incomprehensible to our logic of calculating the BC of the remaining distance on the available fuel in the tank. Shows only an explainable figure to him all the time. Well, these are little things, of course. The inserts in the steering wheel under the tree would be better removed, because hands sweat on them in summer, and freeze in winter. Otherwise, an excellent, proven car for Russian roads. Consumption diesel fuel in the combined cycle I have 14-16 liters. Having traveled to the provinces on many brands of cars, again after 5 years I returned to the Toyota Land Cruiser 200 and I think that this is best car for crater directions of the hinterland of Russia. And inexpensive TO, spare parts and good service Toyota with a minimum loss of the cost of the car itself in comparison with all other brands, together with the above, make it a practical and uncontested leader of the regional auto pride.

The name Toyota Land Cruiser has been known all over the world for 65 years and with each generation this SUV becomes more comfortable, more civilian and, of course, more and more expensive. Following the facelift of the brutal Toyota Land Cruiser 200 SUV, the automaker has also updated the younger one.

Toyota Land Cruiser in our country has long ceased to be just a car. This is the status, this is the image. And, probably, it is with us, depending on the generation of the cruiser on which the person rides, you can roughly describe who he is and what he does. "Seventies" and "eighty" - the choice of jeepers-fanatics, guys from the nineties and not rich entrepreneurs ride on "hundred parts", but the 200th is affordable only for very wealthy people, or their protection.

It should be noted that the appearance of the 200th series was greeted by fans of the model very controversially. Many reproached her for being heavy and lacking in brutality, but over time everyone got used to it. And here's the facelift again.

The updated 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser 200 received new headlights that have become smaller in size, but this is not just a tribute to restyling, this is really a completely new optics. LED steel not only running lights, but also low and high beam.

The installation of new optics and a radiator grille entailed changes in the shape of the hood and, of course, the bumper. The new hood has got a huge stamping in the middle. If something happens, then the body shop masters will not say thanks to the designers for sure.

What's new in the new Land Cruiser?

Well, then everything is as always with restyling. New side trims, new rear optics, large chrome molding on the trunk lid. The upgraded diesel Land Cruiser now develops 249 hp. and 650 Nm of torque. Not bad, despite the fact that now it complies with the Euro-5 standards. That's just for this environmental friendliness you have to pay.

The fact is that now a new generation particulate filter with a proprietary self-cleaning system is installed here, which has already caused a lot of controversy among the owners of the new Toyota. Even on a special plate it is written that when cleaning the filter, you must be careful because of the possibility of a fire.

All five-seater Land Cruisers, with the exception of the base configuration in the version with a sunroof, are equipped with additional 45 liters of fuel tanks. Thus, the total volume for fuel is 138 liters.

Pumping between the tanks is carried out automatically, but they have one filler neck, common, not like on our UAZs. Due to this, the power reserve of the Land Cruiser can reach 1200 km. Not bad, although during the test it did not work to lower the flow rate below 18 liters per hundred. And it's a diesel.

Salon innovations

Inside, the updated Toyota Land Cruiser 200 2016 received the usual changes for a classic restyling. The front panel was slightly retouched, it seems like they changed the finishing materials, a completely new center console appeared here, new in design, but in terms of functionality it is about the same as before.

Above is now not an 8-, but a 9-inch display. Despite the size of the climate control unit, which occupies a significant place on the center console, its functionality leaves much to be desired, since many things have to be done with too many actions. For example, in order to change the fan speed, you must first press the button on the climate control unit, and therefore set the blowing direction and its power on the display. As a matter of fact, the same actions must be done in order to turn on, for example, the heated windshield. That is, you must first enter the climate control menu, press an additional key and only then turn on the heated windshield. It is difficult, not very convenient and you have to be too distracted on the road.

New devices have appeared here, now they are three-dimensional, but not drawn. Perhaps, on a car for that kind of money, the painted devices familiar to our time could already appear. But a full-fledged display appeared on-board computer with a diagonal of 4.2 inches. Colorful and good graphics. It is also nice that there are such devices, atypical for modern cars, as a voltage sensor. on-board network and an engine oil pressure sensor. By and large, many modern cars can't even boast of an engine temperature sensor.

I was surprised that in such a huge spacious salon not many places to store small items. There are, of course, the classic cup holders on the central tunnel, there is a small niche for storing exactly mobile phone, because there is also a platform for wireless charging and there is also a power button for this wireless charging.

The huge box between the seats has a two-story structure. First you need to open the top lid, but there is a very small niche here, again, for storing little things like keys or business cards, and below there is a not very large box, but it is small, not because they regretted the place, but because there is a full-fledged refrigerator with a separate power button.

It is unknown how useful this option really is. It would be better if there was just a big roomy box here. I was also surprised by the glove box, because, on the one hand, it seems to be large and two-story, but putting something there is quite difficult, an ordinary document can hardly fit into it, for example, insurance in an expanded form. There could be more space here.
