Daewoo Lanos is a lightweight (subcompact) front-wheel drive car with sedan or hatchback body options, developed and originally produced by Daewoo, was first presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 1997 under the name Daewoo Lanos as Daewoo replacement Nexia. It all started in 1992, when the joint venture between Daewoo and General Motors ceased to exist. After that, Daewoo made a decision on their own develop new cars to replace old ones. Lanos was designed in collaboration with a number of reputable German and British engineering companies at the Daewoo Research Center in Woking. Low-temperature testing was carried out in Canada, Sweden and Russia (in Moscow and Khabarovsk), and high-temperature testing was carried out in the USA (Death Valley), Oman (Nazva), Australia (Alice Springs), Spain (Barcelona) and Italy (Nardo). The engines, partially copied from Opel, were refined by specialists from the Porsche engineering department.
As a result, the Lanos car (with the factory index T100) was developed and put into production in 30 months and cost the company $ 420 million. This is Daewoo's first in-house design. The small middle class car (Class C) Daewoo Lanos, developed on the Daewoo Nexia platform, was first presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 1997, in the same year the car began to be produced in South Korea. If we talk about the shortcomings in more detail, then first of all it is worth noting the inability of the body to corrosion. The plastic used in the interior trim is also not impressive, because it is very unstable to scratches, but it will not hold together. Production begins with the fact that with the help of pressing equipment, parts and components for the future Sherole Lanos are manufactured. After that, the body parts are sent to the welding shop, where specialists, using advanced Japanese and German technology, weld them together. Then, the finished body is sent to the tightness control workshop.
At the third stage, when the body is already equipped with a hood and doors, it is sent for painting. In a special workshop, 9 robots are installed that are capable of processing 32 bodies per hour.
The last stage includes all the final assembly processes, including the installation of power units and transmissions. Usually, the duration of 4 production stages does not exceed 2 minutes.

For 5 years, according to the signed contracts, almost 172 thousand Chevrolet Lanos of Ukrainian assembly were delivered to Russia. In 2009, these sedans were delivered under the Chance badge.

Chevrolet Lanos is a car, developed in Korea by Daewoo, but assembled in Ukraine under the control of the American corporation Chevrolet. Unlike front optics, taillights look more angular and vertical on the car body, presenting a completely different style.
Chevrolet Lanos is a mid-size car. Its length, width and height are 4237, 1678 and 1432 mm, respectively. However, when in addition to the driver there are 2-3 passengers in the car, its dynamics disappears somewhere, and it becomes more and more difficult for Lanos to pick up speed. At the same time, the motor is audible in the cabin quite clearly. Again, we will make a discount on its belonging to a certain class of cars, and, as a result, the lack of the necessary noise insulation. Yes, it was created primarily as a workhorse and as an inexpensive family car.
It is very easy to drive a Chevrolet Lanos, the steering wheel lies comfortably in your hands and allows you to enter sharp turns... The car easily conquers speeds above 150 km per hour, but then it starts to float slightly on the road (partly due to the tires), and its gasoline engine simply roars deafeningly. At a speed of 120 km / h, no deviations in its behavior are observed: the car confidently holds the road.
Despite the use of inexpensive explosive plastic in the cabin, there is not an abundance of squeaks and crickets inside, although they are present. Perhaps due to the practically absent sound insulation, they are not audible.
