If in external appearance there are differences between the on-DO sedan and the mi-DO hatchback, then the manufacturer decided to use full identity in the decoration of the interior space. The interior of the salon is laconic with a fair amount of practicality. The front panel is compact enough, and the plastic used does not make you look too boring. By the way, the task of defeating the interior creaks, which were a distinctive feature of all VAZ and Kalina models, including, was completed by the engineers from Datsun. They paid a lot of attention to the anti-noise preparation of the cabin, which ultimately bore fruit - the driver and passengers will only remotely hear the noise of the road and the engine.

The front row seats are comfortable enough, and the second row can easily accommodate three adults. The rear seat backrests can be folded 60 to 40 so that bulky items can be stored in the luggage compartment. The trunk is not very large (less than 240 liters), but since we are not talking about an SUV, the owner is unlikely to carry large amounts of luggage.

The hatchback is slated for sale in the first decade of 2015 and it has already been announced that it will be available in three trim levels: Access, Trust and Dream. The cost of each of them has not yet been named, but dealers say that, most likely, the price of Datsun mi-DO will be about the same as that of the On-Do sedan, which is sold in Russia, starting from 329 and ending with 445 thousand rubles ... Recall that Kalina is sold in Russia from 327,500 rubles.

A novelty on the Russian market and only for the Russian market from the revived Japanese brand appeared on sale in 2015 and was named Datsun mi-DO 2015-2016. This is the first car from this brand, which appeared in Russia after the revival of the company. Recall that Datsun presented its first model in India in 2014, it was a budget hatchback built on the basis and received only a new body and interior.
The Russian version of the budget car mi-DO is built on the basis of the domestic Lada Kalina and is essentially its own progenitor, but with a modernized body, which is characterized by a streamlined shape that provides good aerodynamics. Initially, when the car was presented in August 2014, it was planned to cost 300-350 thousand rubles, but the realities of the market dictate their own conditions, and in 2015 the basic version was estimated at 415 thousand rubles, but the maximum configuration, called Dream, was estimated at 465 thousand rubles.
Taking into account the growth in prices for cars of other brands, the Japanese novelty, produced, by the way, in Togliatti at the Volzhsky Automobile Plant, is one of the most affordable and advantageous in terms of price-quality ratio on the domestic market.

From the front, the car does not have a huge resemblance to the model with which it is constantly being compared. There is a completely different and more beautiful bumper, and the model also has a completely different radiator grille in chrome surround. The headlights of the head optics, which are equipped with lenses, look very attractive, and under them in the bumper there are already round fog lights.
When you look at the car from the side, then here you will already notice a great similarity with Kalina. The hatchback got more swollen wheel arches than its sibling, and this is probably the only difference on the side.
At the rear, the model received, as well as at the front, a considerable number of changes, this is, as well as the front, a new more attractive bumper, new rather beautiful optics and an exhaust pipe with a more beautiful appearance. Also, the trunk lid has some stampings, which are practically invisible. On this, in principle, there are no more changes, but be sure to look at the photos or videos to understand exactly what the car has become.

Under the hood was placed an eight-valve gasoline engine with a volume of 1.6 liters and a capacity of 87 Horse power... It became the only choice for the buyer of Datsun mi-DO 2016; it is not planned to install other power units yet. With the choice of gearboxes, things are a little better, here you can decide what will be more convenient - a five-speed mechanics or a four-speed automatic, the latter will increase the price of a car by 40 thousand rubles.
A huge advantage of the engine is that the owner will never encounter a shortage of spare parts, because the time-tested engine rides under the hood of tens of thousands of cars throughout the country, and in every, even the most seedy service, these engines have been seen more than one hundred times. True and the dynamics of the car, most likely, does not surpass its progenitor, but the manufacturer has not yet said a word about this. But it is unambiguous that for a city dweller it will be an excellent version of a car, the characteristics of which will be enough to move in city traffic.

As for the interior decoration, everything is like in a budget car of the same class, typical plastic, fabric upholstery. The knobs and buttons are informative and quite pleasant to the touch, the dashboard is informative and understandable, there are only mechanical tachometer and speedometer, everything else is placed in the on-board computer, which is controlled from the right steering column switch. The luggage compartment is the same as for, ample in size and with a full-size spare wheel hidden under the floor.
Even in the basic configuration, the car is equipped with:

Datsun mi-DO 2015 front passenger seats are comfortable, but they are simple and have a small number of mechanical adjustments. The back row can easily accommodate three passengers, for each of them there are headrests and a large amount of headroom, but the amount of free legroom is not enough.
Outwardly, the car turned out to be quite nice, the designers, just like in Datsun GO, tried to put a kind of aggressiveness in the appearance, but here, due to the larger dimensions, they did it better, the large radiator grille looks just fine and gives the car a recognizable look. When making a choice and buying this model, you should be prepared for the fact that you will not be the object of general attention on the road, because the design is kept in the framework of modern automotive fashion, and is not striking for anything remarkable.
Now a few words about the smoothness of the ride, here the Datsun mi-DO 2016 car really pleasantly surprises with its characteristics, it immediately becomes clear why the platform of the domestic Lada Kalina was taken as the basis. The car is fully adapted to Russian realities.
The car holds the road well, easily copes with bumps and, which is important, has not the worst brakes. Sufficiently high ground clearance allows you to go where most cars of this class are "ordered". So the car is quite suitable not only for ordinary city dwellers, but also for lovers of outdoor trips, of course, this is not a frame SUV, but most competitors cannot boast of such capabilities, and at such a price and equipment, the car remains practically out of competition.

The five-door hatchback "mi-DO", built on the basis of the "second" Lada Kalina, first officially appeared before the public at the end of August 2014 at the international auto show in Moscow.
A little less than half a year later (at the beginning of February 2015) official dealers The Datsun brand in Russia started accepting pre-orders for this car, although by the middle of the same month it appeared “alive” “on the shelves” of car dealerships.
The Datsun mi-DO hatchback is endowed with a modern and attractive appearance, but in its appearance "family ties with Kalina" are immediately caught.
The front of the five-door is made in the "family" style of the revived brand - as evidenced by the hexagonal radiator grille with a mesh protective mesh and chrome trim.
Expressive head optics with lenses give the front end of the compact Datsun hatchback a certain amount of aggression, and a neat bumper (in top versions with foglights) and stamping on the hood successfully complete the "exposure".
The silhouette of the "Japanese" hatchback is practically no different from the "Kalinovskiy" wheel disks(in the basic version - 14-inch "stamps").
The back of the car is crowned with a neat luggage door, stylish shades side lights with transparent glass and a small bumper with a place for a license plate.
The body length of Datsun mi-DO is 3950 mm, width - 1700 mm, height - 1500 mm. A very modest wheelbase affects the stock of internal space and is 2476 mm, but the indicators ground clearance impressive - the ground clearance is 174 mm.
When equipped, the hatchback weighs 1125 kg, and its full mass slightly exceeds 1.5 tons.
The interior of the Datsun mi-DO hatchback does not differ from the interior of the on-DO sedan - the extremely unpretentious instrument "wells" and the monochrome display of the trip computer between them are well read under any conditions. The steering wheel with three wide spokes and the brand emblem is accentuated by silver metal inserts.
The wave-shaped front panel smoothly flows into the massive center console, which, depending on the level of equipment, can be completely different (only the ventilation deflectors remain unchanged). In the most affordable versions, the dashboard is crowned with plugs (in the place where the audio system should be) and three "knobs" of a conventional stove, and in more expensive versions - a 2DIN audio system with a small monochrome display or a multimedia complex with a 7-inch touch screen, as well as a control panel "Climate".
Inside the mi-DO five-door, frankly budget finishing materials are used - hard plastics and fabric in the seat upholstery. In addition to this, there are roughness in the assembly, and the dark interior looks somewhat gloomy, and even silver inserts do not add nobility to it.
The front seats with an almost flat profile do not fix the body well in turns, but they have a good level of comfort. But the adjustment ranges cannot be called redundant, and there is not so much space - tall riders will clearly feel discomfort.
As already noted, due to the modest wheelbase, the second row of seats offers a minimum of space, and if the first row is moved as far back as possible, then it practically does not remain "in the gallery". There is enough space in width for only two adult passengers, the third will be cramped in the shoulders, and the protruding transmission tunnel does not add convenience.
The luggage compartment of the MI-DO (260 liters) in the standard position has a high threshold and protruding wheel arch superstructures, so it is not suitable for transporting bulky goods. The rear seat backrest can be folded separately (60:40), which creates additional luggage space, but the flat floor does not come out. Regardless of the modification, there is a place for a full-fledged "spare wheel" under the raised floor.
The five-door Datsun mi-DO hatchback is offered with two gasoline atmospheric “fours” with distributed fuel injection, which are well known from “on-DO” and Lada models.
- The first option is an eight-valve VAZ-11186 unit with a working volume of 1.6 liters (1596 cubic centimeters), the maximum potential of which is 87 horsepower at 5100 rpm and 140 Nm of torque at 3800 rpm.
- The second is a 1.6-liter VAZ-21127 engine with a 16-valve DOHC timing belt, producing 106 hp. at 5800 rpm and 148 Nm of maximum recoil at 4000 rpm.
"VAZ" engines meet the environmental standards of Euro-4, and are equipped with "mechanics" for five steps or a 4-speed "automatic" Jatco.
The hatchback accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 10.5-14.2 seconds, and its maximum capabilities do not exceed 161-181 km / h.
The passport fuel consumption at the five-door is 6.7-7.7 liters for each "hundred" kilometers in mixed conditions.
At the heart of Datsun mi-DO is a front-wheel drive "bogie" from Kalina of the 2nd generation, but on the "Japanese" it received an upgraded suspension, tuned by Renault and Nissan specialists. The front wheels are attached to the body by means of classic McPherson struts, the rear wheels are attached to a semi-independent scheme with a transmission beam. In addition to this, the vehicle is equipped with gas shock absorbers.
All modifications of the five-door hatchback rely on electric power steering, as well as front disc and rear drum brakes (with ABS and EBD, and in expensive versions also with BAS).
In the Russian market, Datsun mi-DO 2017 is available in two trim levels - "Trust" and "Dream":
- The most "empty" version will cost 515,000 rubles (any version with automatic transmission is 50,000 more expensive). For this money you get a hatchback with: electric power steering, trip computer, heated front seats, two power windows, electrically adjustable and heated side mirrors, two front airbags and ABS + EBD systems ... For performance with climate control, you will have to pay a minimum of 539,000 rubles, if also with "standard music" - 549,000 rubles, and with a 106-horsepower engine - 564,000 rubles.
- "Top" Datsun mi-DO is offered at a price of 573,000 rubles and is equipped with: alloy wheels dimension of 15 inches, fog lights, rain and light sensors, electronic stabilization system and driver's seat height adjustment. In addition, for the "Dream" version, you can order: side airbags, a multimedia system with a 7-inch screen, heated windshield, rear parking sensors and a navigation system, but for such a hatchback you will have to pay from 602,000 rubles.
Designed specifically for Russian market... And at the Moscow Motor Show 2014 the premiere of a hatchback based on it, which was named mi-DO, took place.
As in the case of the sedan, the new Datsun mi-DO 2019 (photo and price) is based on the upgraded platform from the car. But if outwardly the four-door looks more like Grant, standing out with an impressive trunk, then the five-door received a body like the Kalina hatchback.

At the front, the 2019 Datsun MiDo received a proprietary hexagonal radiator grill, which the company calls "D-cut grill", but the shape of the head optics is somewhat different from those installed on the sedan. And at the back, the car can be distinguished from Kalina by modified headlights and a slightly retouched trunk lid.
Compared to the sedan, the overall length of the Datsun mi-DO was reduced from 4,337 to 3,950 millimeters, while the width (1,700), height (1,500) and wheelbase (2,476) remained the same.
The hatchback's interior design copies the four-door, and under the hood there is the same 1.6-liter eight-valve gasoline engine with a capacity of 87 hp, paired with a five-speed mechanical box gear. But as an option, the Jatco four-band automatic machine was immediately available, which was not initially offered on-DO.
In the fall of the seventeenth year, the new Datsun Mi Do acquired a 106-strong version of the 1.6 engine (an additional payment of 15,000 rubles for it). At first, you can buy a hatchback with such an engine only in conjunction with a manual transmission, but later they promise to start equipping it and automatic transmission.
Acceptance of orders for the new Datsun mi-DO in Russia started on February 4, 2015, today the price range for the five-door varies from 536,000 to 673,000 rubles. Thus, the basic version was 73,400 rubles. more expensive than Kalina. But the equipment of the MI-DO is richer - already in the initial version there are power steering, front airbags, electric and heated side mirrors, an onboard computer and heated front seats.
Climate control and a multimedia system with USB port, SD card slot, Bluetooth and four speakers are offered for an extra charge. The top version of Datsun mi-DO 2019 provides for foglights, light and rain sensors, power windows for all doors, an audio system and 15-inch alloy wheels.
