Small Medium Car Kia class Ceed (class C according to the international classification) has been produced since 2007, in Russia the production of this car is carried out by ZAO Avutor (Kaliningrad).
The Kia Ceed is available in three body styles: a three-door hatchback (Kia pro Ceed), a five-door hatchback (Kia Ceed) and a station wagon (Kia Ceed SW).
Transverse four-cylinder petrol engines are installed on Kia Ceed cars injection engines working volume of 1.4, 1.6 and 2.0 liters, as well as four-cylinder diesel engines working volume of 1.6 and 2.0 liters.
On cars with gasoline parts, a multipoint fuel injection system and two catalytic converters of exhaust gases are installed.
In this publication, the design of the engine is described in most detail using an example gasoline engine with a working volume of 1.6 liters, the most common in Russia, the differences of other engines are stipulated separately.
The bodies of cars of the type three or five-door hatchback and station wagon are load-bearing, all-metal, welded construction with hinged front fenders, doors, hood and tailgate.
The transmission is made according to front-wheel drive scheme with front wheel drives of different lengths. In the basic configuration, cars are equipped with a five-speed mechanical box gear. Gearboxes installed on cars, depending on the type of engine, differ in gear ratios and the number of forward gears.
Front suspension, MacPherson type, independent, spring, with stabilizer lateral stability, with hydraulic shock absorber struts. The rear suspension is independent, spring-loaded, multi-link, with hydraulic shock-absorber struts, with the effect of passive steering.
The brakes of all wheels are disc with a floating caliper, and the discs of the front brakes are ventilated. Drum mechanisms are built into the brakes of the rear wheels parking brake... All modifications are equipped with anti-lock braking system (ABS) with an integrated electronic distribution subsystem braking efforts(EBD).
The steering is injury-safe, with a rack-pinion-type steering mechanism, equipped with a hydraulic booster with a progressive characteristic. Steering column adjustable in tilt angle. In the hub steering wheel(as in front of the front passenger) there is a frontal airbag.
Kia Ceed cars are equipped with a system of centralized control of locks of all doors with blocking of all doors with a button on the door for drivers and automatic system emergency unlocking of locks.

At one time, Kia Ceed made a real revolution in its class, surprising even the most skeptical drivers with its sleek design, reliability and excellent equipment, which only played into the hands of the Korean automaker. External appearance
The 2nd generation Ceed, like its predecessor, was designed at the European Kia Design Center under the supervision of Chief Designer Peter Schreier, whose developments have been implemented in cars such as the Audi TT, Audi A6, VW Golf and many others. The influence of European cars can be traced quite strongly in the design of the new "Sid", which favorably differs from its co-platforms of the Hyundai concern with a strict, laconic design, not devoid of bright details. The corporate face of Kia, formed a few years ago, looks just fine: the "family" radiator grille with large honeycombs, huge headlights extending far into the wings, a dynamic silhouette and a certain sportiness - all this characterizes the appearance of our hero, making us fall in love with him with all our hearts ... In addition, the Kia Ceed station wagon looks no worse than a hatchback, and thanks to a slightly elongated roof, its profile is even more balanced.
Interior
The previous "Sid" pleased the driver with excellent ergonomics and excellent finishing materials, but clearly did not reach the level of some competitors. In the new generation, the developers have surpassed themselves, because the interior design causes genuine admiration, and the optional set does not have time to amaze with its versatility. Of course, this is not a premium class, but despite this, Ceed offers much more than you expect from it. It is worth noting that in all its trim levels, the Kia Ceed is equipped with six airbags, turning headlights, electric window regulators, a multifunctional steering wheel, heated seats, USB and AUX connectors, a good music system, as well as air conditioning, which in richer versions gives way to 2- zone climate control. And if most systems are already familiar to modern cars Golf-class, the Bluetooth function with voice control, numerous prompts displayed on the center display, setting the outside lighting, rain sensor, cruise control and heated steering wheel become pleasant additions that are not always found in class brethren. In the "Kia Sid" station wagon, in addition to the general feeling of comfort, the body adds a fair amount of practicality. In particular, this concerns roomy trunk, the neat finish of which, to match the interior, pleases the eye with solid performance. It is worth noting that its volume has been increased by 40 liters compared to the first generation, reaching 380 liters, which will be quite enough for a family trip. This feature can put the car on a par with bestsellers such as the Opel Astra, Ford focus and Renault Megane, where not the last will be the "Kia Sid" (station wagon), the technical characteristics of which are impeccable. Finally, in addition to the standard transformation for the station wagon, the luggage compartment of the "Sida" has a capacious organizer in the underground and a convenient sliding curtain.

B is presented in three versions: basic, Classic and Premium. The intermediate version differs from the standard one by a wider range of options that we mentioned earlier (rain sensor, Bluetooth system, designer accessories, climate and cruise control). Top car will also delight the driver with the Supervision dashboard, 16-inch rear parking sensors, electronic design elements and other features that contribute to driving comfort. The price for the basic version is 19 thousand dollars, and the richer cars will cost you 22-25 thousand.
Specifications "Kia Sid"
For Russian market new generation Kia Ceed offers 3 engine versions: 2 petrol 1.4 (100 HP) and 1.6 liters (130 HP), as well as 1 diesel 1.6 liter (128 HP). They are complemented by a 6-speed "automatic" or the same category "mechanics". Despite the amazing power for such a car, its dynamics cannot be called impressive, because the new Sida engines are designed on the basis of completely different principles: environmental friendliness and economy. Average fuel consumption will be about 6.4 liters, which is certainly a huge plus. Combined with the new 6-speed automatic, acceleration is very smooth and predictable, and the engine is completely quiet and relaxed. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the suspension. Even on basic 15-inch wheels, the vehicle provides detailed information on the condition of the road surface. Ceed overcomes irregularities harshly, but resilient and knocked down. At the same time, the suspension does not emit extraneous noise, and the adequate behavior of the car at high-speed turns can be considered as compensation for excessive rigidity. In general, the technical characteristics of "Kia Sid" leave a pleasant impression, albeit without unnecessary "bells and whistles". The maximum speed of the novelty reaches 190 km / h, and the acceleration to "hundreds" is carried out in 11-12 seconds, which is enough for an ordinary driver. In the equipment of our hero there is also a Flex Steer system, which allows you to choose one of 3 modes of operation Normal, Comfort and Sport. If in the comfortable mode the steering wheel is light and pliable, which greatly simplifies maneuvering in urban conditions, then in sports the amplifier is clamped, filling the steering wheel, albeit unnatural, but very tangible reactive force.
Dimensions (edit)
As for dimensions, the updated "Sid" in the station wagon version has become slightly larger than its predecessor, having received 4510 mm in length, 1780 mm in width and 1485 mm in height. In the "Kia Sid" (hatchback), the technical characteristics are completely similar to the station wagon, but the parameters are slightly reduced, equating to 4310/1780/1470. There is also a modified version of the "Kia Pro_Ceed", but we'll talk about that later.
Security
The new Kia Ceed can be safely considered one of the safest cars in its class, as according to the EuroNCAP results, it received the highest rating in crash tests for frontal and side collisions. As mentioned earlier, the vehicle has 6 airbags. In addition, it is equipped with the following systems: ABS, EBD, stability control system, integrated system active management, lift assist system, as well as anti-slip, which eliminates the possibility of slipping of the driving wheels. Kia Pro_Ceed
In September 2012, Koreans presented to the public new model, Pro_Ceed-2013, adding to the line of the 2nd generation hatchback and station wagon. Of course, the differentiation went beyond the simple 3-door design to accommodate a number of design innovations. Such became the modified more sloping roof, inclined rear pillar and transformed rear glass... The length and width remain the same as that of the hatchback, while the height has dropped by 40 mm. In the interior there was a place for decorative overlays that delight the eye with a pleasant range of colors. The technical characteristics of the Kia Sid Pro version also completely copy the hatchback model.

The Korean company Kia successfully held the first show of the cee'd SW station wagon of the second generation in 2012. Dimensions and wheelbase
In most car reviews, it is customary to give dimensions by comparing a station wagon and a hatchback. If we place two cars with these two body types next to each other, then, taking measurements, we notice that the station wagon has a great length (almost 1.5 centimeters). At the same time, the hatchback is one centimeter wider and half a centimeter taller. Of course, a couple of centimeters in individual dimensions do not play a role. But for a complete visual impression, they are of no small importance. Thus, according to this characteristic, the Kia Sid station wagon is visually in a more sporty form. At the same time, the wheelbase of the station wagon reaches 265 centimeters.
Chassis device
The suspension scheme of the Kia cee'd SW is similar to the hatchback - independent front with MacPherson struts and an anti-roll bar, and the rear is made as an independent multi-link.
Engine and gearbox type
