The Serbian company Tigar appeared relatively recently (however, even before the Second World War, and this already says a lot). The year of creation is 1935. The name of the company is translated from Serbian as "tiger", which, however, is quite easy to guess.

As is customary in a successful business (or rather, as is often the case with success stories), the company began to produce car tires only in 1959. And today it is already part of such a famous group of companies as Michelin.

I must say that the brand's tires have a relatively low price, and due to this they have gained steady popularity in fifty countries around the world. At the facilities of this brand, car tires are manufactured for passenger cars, light trucks and minibuses.

The history of development

The very first plant of the company, which was located in the Serbian city of Pirot (the territory of the former Yugoslavia), began its activity with the creation of various rubber products. Already in 1959, a new plant was put into operation, completely specialized for the manufacture of automobile tires. Today more than 1.8 thousand people are constantly working at this plant.

Five years after launch, production reached 1.6 million tires per year. And today Tigar produces about four million tires a year and has the status of a holding joint stock company.

The production of radial tires began at the company's factories in 1972. The most important milestone in the history of the brand was the conclusion of a technical cooperation contract in 1974 with the American tire manufacturer, BF Goodrich. It is thanks to the aforementioned agreement that a global modernization took place at the Tigrovsk factories, and the production of high-quality products was established, which today are in stable high demand around the world. Actually, this cooperation continues to this day, for example, in Jacksonville, a branch of the TIGAR-AMERICAS company was opened within its framework.

This, by the way, was not the last cooperation contract that the described brand signed. In 1997, the company also established a long-term partnership with Michelin, with which it has implemented and is implementing various joint projects. Within the framework of this partnership, the plant Tigar switched to the use of a quality control system, which was adopted at the factories of Michelin itself, and was able to achieve the issuance of the ISO 9001 quality certificate.

In 1997, a new factory was opened, which produces cameras for cars - it is located in Babushnitsa.

Today the company still works as part of a group called Michelin, and has managed to achieve considerable success in creating tires that are close in quality to the ideal. At least when traveling on city roads. The company carefully monitors that the cost of their products is not overpriced, and absolutely all motorists who value reliability and quality can afford it.

Number of tire reviews Tigar- 2042 pcs;
Average rating by site users - 3.96 out of 5;

For reliable adhesion of the car to the road and creating comfort while driving, it is necessary to use high-quality rubber. SHINSERVICE LLC offers a wide range of Tigar tires. These are products of a well-known manufacturer - the Serbian division of the Michelin concern.

Made in Europe and oriented to operation in harsh climatic conditions, the tires demonstrate high driving characteristics on domestic roads as well. They are the most demanded in the budget segment due to:

  • high level of security and manageability;
  • excellent speed qualities;
  • rolling resistance and fuel efficiency;
  • low driving noise.

In addition, they are highly durable, which is especially important for motorists.

Tigar is a Serbian tire manufacturer founded in 1935. The company produces budget tires for cars, crossovers and vans. In 1974, Tigar entered into cooperation with the American BFGoodrich, and in 1997 merged with Michelin, which significantly increased the quality of the produced automotive rubber... Country producer of Tigar tires (Tigar) - Serbia.

Tigar is one of the most recognizable brands in Central Europe. Moreover, he owes his fame not only to tires, but also to shoes. Tigar wellies are handcrafted and popular with farmers, anglers and hikers.

Interesting Facts:

1. In its first 25 years, Tigar did not produce tires at all, remaining a tycoon in the local shoe market.

2. The Serbian factories Tigar also produce Riken, Kormoran and Taurus tires.

3. Tigar translated from Bosnian means "tiger". The predatory animal became the basis for the brand's logo.

Key dates:

1935 - Founding of Industrijska radionica Tigar or Przedsiębiorstwo Tigar,
1959 - opening of the first tire plant in Pirot
1972 - The first Tigar radial tires (model RD-201)
1973 - opening of a new plant for the production of bicycle and bicycle tires in Babusnice,
1978 - the beginning of cooperation with BFGoodrich;three years later, Tigar opens its US subsidiary,
1990 - Tigar establishes its representative office in Great Britain,
2005 - the debut of the company on the Belgrade Stock Exchange,
2007 - Michelin takes over the brand.

Today, under the Tigar brand, they produce several types of adhesives, sports equipment, polyurethane coatings and a whole lot of rubber products for the mining, shipbuilding, automotive and aviation industries. The scale of production is impressive, but it all started small. In 1935, Serbian entrepreneur Dimitrije Mladenović co-founded a small workshop for the manufacture of rubber boots for farmers.

History is silent as to why the firm used the Tigar trademark. But be that as it may, in ten years it has become a leading player in the domestic footwear market. Tigar saw market trends and quickly expanded its range. At the same time, the company closely monitored the quality and design of shoes so that it does not fade in comparison with European products.

The first Tigar tires

The debut on the tire market had to wait until 1959, when a full-fledged plant in the city of Pirot was launched. In the old location, Tigar has opened a new laboratory technology center. In 1972, the plant produced the first radial tires - the RD-201 model. Things were going well, so the tire workers thought about expanding their business and supplying their products outside the borders of the socialist bloc. This was facilitated by the partial liberalization of trade and the gradual penetration of foreign capital into Yugoslavia.

Tigar has chosen BFGoodrich, one of the leading tire manufacturers in the United States, as its strategic partner. The rapprochement was cautious, and only in 1978 did it end with the creation of a joint venture. In 1980, Josip Broz Tito, the party leader and head of Yugoslavia of those days, passed away. The economy became even freer, prompting Tigar to open an overseas subsidiary headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida. BFGoodrich helped European tires gain a foothold in a new market for yourself. First of all, it was organizational support, although it was not without the exchange of know-how.

Tigar collaboration with Michelin

At home, Tigar also grew rapidly. In 1977, the company launched a plant in the village of Babushnitsa, where they produced bicycle tires. In the 1980s, Tigar built another facility that specialized in the production of cement and chemicals. The nineties brought economic instability to the Balkans, which resulted in civil war and the collapse of Yugoslavia. However, against the backdrop of a difficult political environment, Tigar managed to open another international office - this time in London.

At the end of the 20th century, Tigar ended its partnership with BFGoodrich and established contact with Michelin. Since 1997, the French have systematically bought up Tigar shares and completely acquired Serbian tire workers in 2010. Michelin's investment has only strengthened Tigar's position both domestically and in the European market. The Serbs expanded the offer and now export over 2.5 million tires annually. These are tires for cars, utility vehicles and trucks. Customers pay tribute to the company's rich history and consistently high quality.

Tigar car tires from the company are quite successful in filling Russian market... This European manufacturer has not yet gained great popularity, however, many Russians trust Tigar and install their products on their cars.

Tigar is a Serbian tire manufacturing company founded in 1959. Since then, the manufacturer has successfully strengthened its position and collaborated with such well-known brands as BF Goodrich and Michelin.

ATTENTION! Found a completely simple way to reduce fuel consumption! Don't believe me? An auto mechanic with 15 years of experience also did not believe until he tried it. And now he saves 35,000 rubles a year on gasoline!

At the moment, Tigar is engaged in the production of economy-class rubber. All products of the company are certified and have a good rating. The company produces about 12 million tires annually.

Tire characteristics

The Tigar range is mainly a winter studded rubber. Their tires have a directional tread pattern and are produced for various categories of cars - from cars to SUVs and buses. They are durable, quiet tires with good running characteristics.

The composition of rubber includes silicic acid and a set of modern developments, due to which it is frost-resistant and has low rolling resistance. The tires have a reinforced casing based on a steel cord. They are fairly stable, durable tires with high steering sensitivity and good grip. Tigar rubber has a powerful drainage effect and minimizes the amount of noise while driving.

Each tire model goes through a rigorous stage of checks and tests, is certified and has a manufacturer's warranty.

Models and dimensions

Tigar SUV WINTER

Non-studded tires Tigar SUV WINTER, however, are characterized by high-quality grip on the road surface in rain or ice. The tires are designed for off-road vehicles, have directional pattern and high resistance to aquaplaning.

They are soft, well balanced, have a reasonable price and a fairly high rating. However, the snow performance of the Tigar SUV WINTER leaves much to be desired.

Tigar SUV ICE

The Tigar SUV ICE studded tires are rubber-based. Double-flanged pins with a round section. They have a low cost, good controllability. The rubber is quiet even when driving fast. It balances well, has good cross-country ability and grip on asphalt in ice or rain.

Tigar SUV ICE tires are strong enough, and spike loss is not common when used with care.

Tigar CARGO SPEED WINTER

Tigar CARGO SPEED WINTER tires have excellent grip, even in slush and icy conditions. They have an acceptable cost, studs and excellent handling.

Quality is also not the last characteristic of this model - in conditions of active use, the risk of spikes falling out is minimal. The Tigar CARGO SPEED WINTER, however, does not perform well when driving in deep snow.

Tigar WINTER 1

Tigar WINTER 1 tires are made of soft rubber and do not have studs. The minimum noise figures are also distinguished this model from studded wheels. On a snowy road, the tires behave well, in contrast to icy conditions.

Tigar WINTER 1 has good handling and very low price, for which the presented quality is the exception rather than the rule. The pluses also include a wide range of diameters. However, the model has too soft sides.

Tigar SIGURA STUD

Winter tires Tigar SIGURA STUD are made of rubber and feature high quality studs. They have a very low cost, are characterized by softness and lack of noise, as well as cross-country ability on wet and loose snow, which cannot be said about icy asphalt.

The table shows the size ranges for each of the aforementioned Tigar tires.

Tests

Before launching some of the most popular tire models at the moment, Tigar ran a series of tests, among which was the “consumer's perspective”. A number of motorists were asked to test a free set of tires in season conditions, while driving them at least 5 thousand km.

Based on the testing results, a number of practical advantages of the model were formed:

  • rubber is distinguished by its durability;
  • the tread pattern really provided good grip;
  • tires showed low level noise, which is rare for studded tires;
  • spikes are durable and of high quality;
  • good protection against aquaplaning;
  • the cost is low, in comparison with analogues in accordance with the price and quality.

In addition to the amateur merits, the Tigar SUV ICE tires were also judged by an expert.

The Tigar SUV ICE also has some drawbacks. Most often, motorists complained about:

  • poor handling in icy asphalt conditions;
  • low chances of getting out of deep holes or ruts.

Best of all, this model is suitable for use in places of a mild winter climate.

Advantages and disadvantages

Some motorists find the Tigar an excellent winter tire and prefer to use it exclusively. Other drivers have exclusively negative experience operation of these tires.

Pros of Tigar:

  • excellent performance in the initial period of operation;
  • the softness of the rubber of most models;
  • good grip on wet and snowy roads;
  • high quality studded rubber and studs themselves;
  • comfortable and easy driving;
  • temperature independence.

Cons of Tigar:

  • rapid wear;
  • soft sides.

Tests have shown that these tires have good characteristics for their price segment and are good in everyday use. However, this model does not suitable for amateurs hard and extreme driving in frosty conditions, because it performs well in a quiet ride.

Tires on cars, regardless of their quality characteristics, tend to wear out over time, since they are the only part that comes into contact with the ground, which is why they are subject to strong friction. In addition, in central Russia, most drivers change their wheels from summer to winter and vice versa every season. However, the choice suitable rubber is not so simple, and every car enthusiast wants to choose the perfect combination of price and quality among a huge number of brands in wide sale, and more and more often they are starting to pay attention to Tigar tires.

Until recently, the Tigar brand was little known to Russian drivers, since this Serbian company, which was founded back in 1959, was not very focused on the Eastern European market and, working in conjunction with the well-known world tire manufacturer Michelin, produced budget tires mainly for the EU countries. ... However, since 2010, the plant's plant capacity has reached 4 million units of products per year, which allowed Tigar to cover retail outlets not only in Europe, but also in the USA, Canada and Russia. The products of the plant, according to the assurances of its managers and on the basis of numerous reviews from drivers from all over the world, have the following quality advantages:

Tigar plant in Serbia

  • Michelin's direct involvement, the introduction of their advanced technologies and careful quality control allowed Tigar to produce modern, reliable and durable products that can easily compete with the world's best tire manufacturers, while having a lower retail price for Tiger tires.
  • It happens that the parent company uses production bases Tigar in order to rehabilitate their old but highly demanded products with the same quality and performance. This allows fans of the brand to safely put on their wheels their favorite tires from the French brand, but with a different name.
  • Country of origin of Tigar tires and the advantages of the location of this brand. The plant is located on the territory of Serbia, in Europe, which obliges each manufacturer to use only high-quality and environmentally friendly components, and increased requirements are imposed on finished products during their independent laboratory and field tests.
  • Each tire of the company has its own certificate of compliance with the declared characteristics and real operational properties, and otherwise it simply cannot be sold on the territory of the European Union.
  • Thanks to a competent approach to marketing of the parent company, as well as a significant difference in wages between Serbia and the EU countries, the company can afford to reduce the cost of products and determine a truly budgetary retail price for them.

Rubber Tigar SUV Summer

By purchasing Tigar tires, a Russian motorist can be 100% sure that he is betting on his “ iron horse»Products of Michelin quality and use them without the risk of emergency replacement for several seasons.

Features of the most popular Tigar tires

Among the wide range of tires of the Tigar company, one can single out the best-selling modifications of the summer, all-season and winter tires, each of which has its own characteristics. Advantages and disadvantages:

  • Summer SUV - refers to Tiger tires for high-speed crossovers, since it has a corresponding attachment (Sport Utility Vehicle), which obliges the products to have corresponding improved characteristics. So, hard protectors have sharp sipes, which help to cling not only to a hard surface, but also to dirt.

The chemical composition of the tire completely satisfies the operation of a car at high temperatures, since the protectors do not lose their rigidity even on hot asphalt, which retains dynamic characteristics auto and does not call increased consumption fuel.

The size range of products is presented in 18 variants with the range 205-255 / 50-75 / R15-R18 with a load index from 96 to 112, which corresponds to the mass applied to each wheel in 720-1120 kg, and the dynamic indicators range from H to W, which allows the wheel to accelerate to a speed of 210-270 km / h.

Tigar Cargo Speed Tires
  • Cargo Speed is a unique model designed for light commercial vehicles transporting goods and passengers over long distances at speeds up to 170 km / h, as evidenced by the R dynamics index. In addition, this Serbian rubber has high and hard treads, which makes it possible to operate a car. even in winter, at temperatures down to -10 degrees, which is why it can rightfully be considered all-season.

Tire parameters are available in the range from 165/70 / R14 to 235/65 / R16 with a load index of 89-116 (580-1250 kg per wheel), and these data allow you to put it on almost any minibus or small-sized truck.

  • Sigura Stud Tigar - Classic winter tire with a large number of metal spikes that ensure the stability of the car in any weather, when driving on snow or ice. Soft, sharp sipes capture snow from the road surface, enhancing the frictional properties of the Tiger rubber, and drainage grooves effectively remove excess snow slurry, preventing Tiger tires from entering the aquaplaning mode in winter.

The characteristics of rubber are presented in the form of 18 different models with dimensions from 175/70 / R13 to 225/50 / R17, and the speed and load indicators vary within 82T-94T, that is, the car can go with a maximum curb weight of 475-670 kg per wheel and accelerate to 190 km / h

The above Tigar rubber has the highest wear resistance class A, which allows motorists to operate it for at least 2-3 years with intensive and quiet driving, without exceeding the declared load and speed indicators.

Tigar Sigura Stud Tires

Serbian tires Tigar Ice 205/55 / R16

When analyzing Tigar tires, special attention should be paid to the studded winter model "Ice", designed for operation at extremely low temperatures, which is ideal when using these tires in the conditions of central Russia, where the thermometer can drop below -30 degrees Celsius, and the height of the snow cover reaches 2 meters. So, this rubber "Tigar" is intended for off-road vehicles, and among domestic models it is suitable for all modifications of "Niva" and UAZ, which is why a product with a dimension of 205/55 / R16, which has the following characteristics, is in special demand:

  • The width of the traction sole of 205 mm allows manufacturers to place more than 160 sharp long studs on the treads, which work both for acceleration or braking, and during sharp turns, leaving the car in a rut.

Tigar Ice rubber
  • The 55 mm profile is stiff enough not to deform during maneuvers when the center of gravity of the car is shifted towards the tilt of the body, but at the same time, the model has a large air buffer that absorbs most of the minor irregularities in the road.
  • Radiality R16 allows the use of graceful alloy wheels, which have increased strength, as well as the total diameter of the wheel assembly practically does not meet obstacles in the form of high curbs and deep holes on the road, increasing the car's clearance.
  • The declared characteristic of the modification of the Tigar tire has a load index of 102, and a speed index of T, due to which the owner can apply a mass of up to 850 kg to the wheel and move at a speed of 190 km / h without interruption for 30 minutes, and the plant guarantees the absolute integrity of the rubber.
  • The manufacturer has put into the tire at once 5 implicitly expressed rows of multidirectional protectors, located regularly in the shoulder areas and in the form of zigzags in the center. Their positioning ensures an even distribution of the load on the bends and forms a stiffener that improves grip and maneuverability in the center section.

Almost the same frictional properties and indices are possessed by the Winter 1 brand tires, devoid of spikes and oriented more for use on passenger cars in urban conditions. However, the frequent sipes on the soft tire blocks provide friction at rest, and the wheels do not slip even when braking hard on a slippery road.

Tigar Winter 1 tires

A huge range of dimensions within 145/80 / R13 - 245/45 / R22 in a total of more than 50 options allow you to choose tires for absolutely any passenger car, regardless of its class, size and technical characteristics... Tigar tires, produced by Serbia, were mainly created for the European market, as in many EU countries the use of studs is prohibited by law.

The company that produces Tigar tires, over several years of cooperation with the French brand, has released only 2 dozen models of various dimensions, but each of them is universal and functional, and all buyers leave only positive reviews both about a specific product and about the brand as a whole. This is due to advanced manufacturing technologies, the presence modern equipment and a multi-stage production quality control system. The official Internet portal of the brand will allow you to get acquainted with the full range of brand products.
