The pedigree of the model comes from Daewoo Kalos (Kalos in Greek means "beautiful"), the first car that went into production after the bankrupt Daewoo was bought out by GM. Despite its American origin, the Aveo received an international appearance. Studio "Jiujiaro" so skillfully shaped the appearance of this model, depriving the exterior of contradictions, that the Aveo is perceived as a very harmonious car. The design perfectly combines the sharpness of the strokes with the softness of the lines. Officially, the Chevrolet Aveo belongs to the "B" class. But, as befits a car that meets modern safety requirements and the wishes of customers for ergonomics, the Aveo is an overgrown, belonging to the class "B" formally, in many respects stepped into the class "C".

The car is reliable in reactions, predictable in behavior and, moreover, holds the road very well. Highly good suspension, the energy intensity of which is adjusted so well that passengers will not be able to experience discomfort, no matter what surfaces or outside of them Aveo drives. But when the rear seats are transformed, the volume increases to 653 liters, and the fact that the folded backs do not form a flat floor is partly compensated by the luggage rack, which can be installed at a convenient height.
Getting into the 2012 Aveo salon, the first thing that catches your eye is dashboard with one pointer dial (this is a tachometer) and a large information display with a digital speedometer. The interior itself is trimmed with rather inexpensive materials that are inherent in budget cars. The steering wheel can now be adjusted not only in height, but also in reach. The seats have a wide range of longitudinal adjustment.
The thoughtful design of the storage areas once again speaks of the Aveo developers' attention to detail. In addition to two glove compartments, one of which is equipped with a USB port, the cabin has three cup holders, as well as a range of compact compartments and door pockets, allowing you to store a variety of items of various sizes.
Basic equipment for Russia includes air conditioning, body-colored mirrors and handles, chrome grille, power windows, CD / MP3 audio system with USB and AUX connectors. In Chevrolet sedan cars produced before 2012, the difference was 20 mm, and it was 1450/1430 mm in the center of the track. The size of the disks has undergone major changes. On the Chevrolet T250 sedan, they were from 13 to 15 inches. The Aveo sedan with 17-inch wheels looks more aggressive and dynamic.
The curb weight due to the installation of additional equipment has increased by 50 kg, from the previous 997 kg. At the same time, the carrying capacity has become less, which can disappoint the owners of the car, who use it as a family car for long trips and as a work car. The T300 sedan model has a curb weight of 1147, and the permissible total weight is 1598 kg, instead of 1500 kg of the T250 model range. For transporting luggage, you can use the space that opens when the seat is folded.
For comparison, we can say that on previous models of sedan cars from Chevrolet, the trunk volume was 375 - 400 cubic meters. At the same time, the volume of the gas tank has been increased from 45 to 46 liters.
Aesthetic look
The new Chevrolet Aveo sedan looks sporty, impetuous and a little predatory. The traditional radiator grille with chrome strip is replaced by a double false grille with shiny surround. Each of the four headlights is located in a separate well under the rounding of the bonnet. At the bottom there are fog lights in protruding round shades, like cannons.
The flowing roofline, characteristic of racing cars, is completed by a boot lid. Stamped lines along the body give the vehicle a swiftness. Large discs under the protruding arches of the fenders make it look aggressive and stable.
The harmony of the sedan's image is spoiled by the taillights. They are large, passing to the sides and too bulky and bright for fast-paced sports forms.
The torpedo has changed more significantly than the body. The dashboard is similar to the instrument cluster on racing motorcycles. All information about speed, revs and fuel consumption is displayed on one screen and is easy to read. Made an additional glove compartment and a case for glasses in the left front door.
In the Aveo, during the design, changes were made to the frame design and steering linkage adjustment. As a result, the side roll when driving is almost completely removed. The appearance has changed quite well, with a new hood with more prominent reliefs. There are also other headlights at the front, they are larger in size, and the filling remains halogen. The small radiator grille is highlighted with a huge amount of chrome, which visually makes the car more expensive. The massive and embossed bumper of the model has air intakes in the lower part. In that area, there are round fog lamps with chrome surround and also a chrome horizontal line that connects to the optics.
The side of the sedan has surprisingly strongly inflated wheel arches, which cannot but please, especially a completely young audience. There is a stamping line approximately in the middle, and there is also a similar one at the top. An oval-shaped turn signal repeater is noticeable, but it is small.
At the back, a fairly large optics with a good color scheme immediately attracts attention. The trunk lid pleases with the presence of a spoiler, as well as a slightly protruding line that corresponds to the size of the turn signal on the optics. The massive bumper of the car will please only with a relief shape at the bottom.
The Chevrolet Aveo T250 sedan was mainly popular, but there was a 5-door 5D version and a 3-door 3D version. Since our country loves the sedan more, here are its dimensions:

In our country, they sold only two engines, but there are actually 3 of them in the lineup. They certainly do not stand out with high power, but they are enough for ordinary city driving. We will now discuss them in more detail.
- The first unit is a 1.2-liter 16-valve engine. It is naturally naturally aspirated and produces 84 horsepower and 114 units of torque. With this engine, the sedan accelerates to the first hundred in 13 seconds, and the maximum speed is 170 km / h. Consumption in the region of 7 liters in the city and 5 liters on the highway.
- The second engine in the Chevrolet Aveo T250 lineup is 1.4, which produces 101 horsepower and 131 H * m of torque. The dynamics have become better, namely 12 seconds to hundreds and 175 km / h of maximum speed. More consumption - 8 liters in the city and also 5 liters on the highway.
- The 1.6-liter engine is the most powerful in the range. It is also naturally aspirated, but already produces 109 horses and 150 H * m of torque. Unfortunately, there is no data on how much it consumes and what kind of dynamics it has, but most likely they do not differ much from the previous engine.
The suspension of the car is independent in the front, this is the well-known MacPherson, the rear is a semi-independent system - a beam. The car stops using disc brakes in front, which are ventilated. Drum brakes are applied at the back. The gearboxes in the lineup are as follows - 5-speed mechanics and 4-speed automatic. The car is front-wheel drive.
Salon
The quality of the interior of the Chevrolet Aveo T250, of course, is not at a high level, but all this is justified by the cost of the car. Chairs with small lateral support and fabric upholstery were used. There is more or less enough space in the front, but very little in the back. The rear sofa, designed for three people, is not very comfortable and there is little legroom there. For rear passengers, there is a cup holder on the tunnel, which is definitely a plus.
At the very top of the dashboard panel there is an electronic clock. The center console at its very beginning has round air deflectors. Under them is the head unit, which has many buttons and a small monitor, it displays information about the radio station or track being played. The air conditioning unit looks good - a small monitor, two knobs and a number of buttons. At the very bottom there is an ashtray and a cigarette lighter.
The tunnel received a large niche for small things, a gear knob, and a parking brake handbrake. By the way, the model has a small glove compartment, documents can hardly fit. The driver will get a 4-spoke wheel which has a small number of buttons. The instrument panel received analog sensors for the speedometer, tachometer, fuel level and engine temperature. There is also an uninformative on-board computer.
Unfortunately, the trunk of the Chevrolet Aveo T250 model does not provide an opportunity to increase its volume by folding the seats. The volume of the trunk is 400 liters and, in principle, this is enough. by the way this car was tested for safety by EuroNCAP, and there it received only 2 stars out of 5.
Price
The model can be purchased at secondary market if desired, and in principle, you should not pay attention to the package bundle, since they have minimal differences. On average, you can buy this car for 250,000 rubles and enjoy your purchase.

It is aimed primarily at a young audience (in including family people) who want to get an "inexpensive but emotional vehicle" ...
For the first time "live" car of the second generation with the in-house marking "T300" appeared before the world community in September 2010 - at the stands of the International Paris Motor Show, but its conceptual forerunner called the Aveo RS was shown in January of the same year at the motor show in Detroit ...
Compared to its predecessor, this "American" has become much more attractive externally and internally, slightly enlarged in size, perched on modernized equipment and received new equipment.
In November 2016, a restyled Aveo made its debut at a car show in New York, which changed mainly visually: the front end was almost completely "redrawn", changing the optics, bumper, hood and radiator grill, and also slightly correcting other parts of the "body". In addition, the car made minor changes to the interior and added new options.
Outside, the Chevrolet Aveo T300 looks attractive, balanced, fit and moderately aggressive, and no contradictory decisions are found in its outlines. The car makes the greatest impression from the front view - a frowning, but at the same time restrained look of lighting technology, a relief hood and a huge "mouth" of a radiator grille with a chrome edging.
From other angles, the car cannot be blamed for its facelessness, but it is perceived not so emotionally:
- the sedan looks quite solid thanks to the growing sideline, "muscular" wheel arches and a distinct "branch" of the trunk,
- while the hatchback looks more like an amateur sportsman - disguised in the pillars of the rear door handles, short overhang and generally lean stern.
In terms of its dimensions, the second generation Aveo belongs to the B-class by European standards: length - 4039-4399 mm, width - 1735 mm, height - 1517 mm. The wheelbase of the car is 2525 mm, and its ground clearance is 155 mm.
The vehicle weighs between 1070 and 1168 kg when equipped (depending on the version).
Inside, the "second" Chevrolet Aveo meets its inhabitants with a beautiful, fresh and youthful design, good ergonomics, good finishing materials and good workmanship.
The driver's workplace is crowned with a three-spoke multi-steering wheel with a weighty rim and a laconic "toolbox" with two analog instruments and a monochrome "branch" of the onboard computer on the right side. The center console looks stylish and harmonious, and carries a minimum of physical controls: in the upper side there is a color display of the media center, and in the lower side there are three large air conditioning washers.
In the front part of the cabin, ergonomic seats are installed with sufficiently tight lateral support, wide adjustment intervals (from the driver's side - also in height) and heating. The second row of seats is equipped with a comfortable sofa, but in terms of the amount of free space it can accommodate only two adult riders (the third will be cramped in almost all directions).
"Aveo" in the body of a sedan has luggage compartment volume of 502 liters, and the hatchback - from 290 to 653 liters, depending on the position of the "gallery" (it is transformed by a pair of asymmetric sections). Regardless of the modification, tools and a small spare wheel are hidden in the car's underground niche.
In the Russian market, the Chevrolet Aveo T300 is not officially offered, but at the same time it is sold in neighboring countries - for example, in Kazakhstan and Ukraine. There, the car is equipped with four-cylinder petrol "aspirated" with a working volume of 1.4 and 1.6 liters, respectively, with a vertical architecture, multi-point fuel injection, variable valve timing and a 16-valve DOHC timing belt:
- The first aggregate generates 100 Horse power at 6000 rpm and 130 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm.
- The second - 115 hp. at 6000 rpm and 155 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm.
Both motors are nominally mated with a 5-speed "mechanics" and driving front wheels, and for an additional fee - with a 6-band "automatic".
The first "hundred" is conquered by the car in 11.3-13.1 seconds, its maximum capabilities do not exceed 174-189 km / h, and fuel consumption is 5.9-7.1 liters for every 100 km of run in combined conditions.
It should be noted that in other countries, other power units- these are gasoline atmospheric and turbocharged engines of 1.2-1.4 liters, developing 86-140 horsepower, as well as 1.2-liter turbodiesel "fours", which produce 75-95 hp.
The second generation Aveo is based on the global GM Gamma II platform with a transverse engine arrangement and extensive use of high-strength steel in the body structure (it accounts for about 60%).
At the front, the "state employee" is equipped with an independent suspension of the MacPherson type, and at the rear - with a semi-independent system with a torsion beam ("in a circle" - with anti-roll bars). The car is equipped with a rack and pinion steering complex, in which a hydraulic or electric power steering is integrated (depending on the engine). Ventilated disc brakes are mounted on the front wheels of the car, and drum mechanisms (supplemented by default with ABS and EBD) on the rear wheels.
In the Russian market, the sales of the Chevrolet Aveo T300 were curtailed at the beginning of 2015, but in Kazakhstan, the 2018 car is offered exclusively in a three-volume body with a 115-horsepower engine, but in two trim levels - LS and LT.
The basic version costs at least 5,102,000 tenge (~ 960 thousand rubles), and for execution with 6АКПП you will have to pay from 5,302,000 tenge (~ 1 million rubles). By default, the sedan has: six airbags, 15-inch alloy wheels, electric heated windscreen, electric drive and heated exterior mirrors, ABS, BAD, EBD, air conditioning, four electric windows, a light sensor, a multimedia installation, an audio system with six speakers and other options.
"Top-modification" will cost from 5 702 000 tenge (~ 1.08 million rubles), and its features are: wheels measuring 16 inches, fog lights, single-zone climate control, rear parking sensors, heated front seats, rear view camera with dynamic markup and some other equipment.
