For the engine to work correctly in any mode, the correct adjustment of the VAZ 2107 carburetor is necessary. The device is not the simplest one, but even a non-specialist can handle its adjustment if you know the principle of operation of the systems and the algorithm of actions. VAZ 2107, like any carburetor car, is sensitive to fuel quality, therefore, from time to time, the carburetor requires correction of the throughput of the channels and clearances.

The latest model of the DAAZ 2107-1107010 carburetor, which is produced by the Dimitrovgrad Automobile Unit Plant, differs from the modifications 2107-1107010-10 and 2107-1107010-20 more complete set- it has a fitting of a vacuum corrector, an automatic vacuum drive of the secondary chamber flap, in some models, nozzles of the main dosing system with other nominal throughput rates can be installed. However, this does not affect the course of the basic tuning and adjustment processes.

If the engine starts and runs stably at any speed and under any load, fine adjustment is hardly necessary. As a rule, this must be done in cases where the fuel consumption of the engine exceeds the nominal values, when the engine is hard to start, dips appear in transient operating modes, with a sharp acceleration. Absence or instability idle speed it is also treated by adjusting or cleaning canals and cavities.

Sometimes there are situations and vivid symptoms that it is necessary to adjust the ignition timing or adjust the VAZ 2107 valves, and the carburetor may be quite serviceable. Therefore, it is worth adjusting it only when there is confidence in the health of the ignition system, the accuracy of setting the thermal clearances of the valves, after checking the performance of the fuel pump, and good compression in each of the cylinders.

Adjustment may not bring results if the carburetor is clogged or has obvious mechanical faults or leaks. Therefore, a thorough examination and assessment of the external condition of the device is necessary. Adjustment and tuning is started only when all these conditions are met.

Checking and adjusting the float chamber

Before checking and adjusting the carburetor on the VAZ 2107, it is necessary to remove the air filter along with the body. And at the same time, check its condition, since a clogged dusty filter severely restricts air access to the engine, and this can also affect both the proportions of the working mixture and the operation of the carburetor peripheral systems. When the filter and housing are removed, unscrew the carburetor cover and gain access to most of the jets, float chamber and diffusers in the primary and secondary chambers. To begin with, unscrew the plug of the filter mesh at the bottom of the cover near the fuel supply connection. The mesh is carefully cleaned, washed, washed and the inner cavity of the screw plug, the condition of the aluminum or bronze sealing gasket is monitored.

When cleaning the internal cavities of the carburetor, important rules must be followed. Firstly, it is highly undesirable to clean with a fluffy or hard rag, since the fluff can easily clog the channels and nozzles. Secondly, during mechanical cleaning of channels and nozzles, in no case should it be used metal objects... They can irrevocably disrupt the throughput of the calibrated holes, then it will not be possible to correctly adjust the VAZ 2107 carburetor. The jets are cleaned only with wood chips, ideally with compressed air or special fluids for the cleaning. The cone valve and its seat are cleaned in the same way.

Before adjusting the fuel level in the carburetor, you need to make sure that the float is intact, does not have mechanical damage and does not let gasoline through, does not sink in it. If not, the brass float is replaced. The float is adjusted by changing the angle of the stop tabs. The factory recommends that such clearances be observed - with the needle valve closed, the distance from the float body to the carburetor cover gasket should be 6.5 mm. In this case, the maximum free travel of the float body should be no more than 8 mm, and the distance to the gasket in the extreme position should be within 14-14.5 mm. These values ​​are achieved by bending the persistent tongues. Check the operation of the float and the cone valve by supplying gasoline with the cover installed, followed by monitoring the fuel level in the chamber.

Configuring and checking the launch system

This system is used to start a cold engine and warms it up by about 1.5-2.5 thousand revolutions. When the engine warms up, the system is manually disabled and the engine starts to idle with a frequency of about 800-900 rpm.

Maintenance and tuning of the starting system is reduced to cleaning the vacuum supply channel in the central part of the carburetor, checking the clearances and the air damper stroke, checking the vacuum drive reverse air damper, starting gaps of the primary chamber damper. With the air damper closed, the lever system should open the fuel damper by 0.8-0.9 mm.

The second important gap is between the air damper and the wall of the primary chamber. With the damper closed, this gap should be about 5-5.5 mm. It is adjusted with a screw, which is located under a brass screw cap on the body of the vacuum air damper position regulator. Checking the performance of the starting system is carried out with the installed air filter and on a cold engine.

Idle setting

The solenoid valve is checked as follows: take a wire, connect the voltage from the positive terminal of the battery to the power terminal, install the valve body to the negative terminal of the battery. When voltage is applied to the positive terminal, the valve stem must retract into the body. If this does not happen, the valve is changed.

The carburetor idle system is adjusted only when the engine is fully warmed up. Two screws are involved in the process - a screw with a large head is responsible for the amount of mixture, and an adjusting screw of a smaller diameter regulates the proportions of mixing air and fuel in idle mode.

The engine is started and the number of revolutions is monitored in this mode. The tachometer should show 800-900 rpm. Begin the adjustment by looking for the most stable speed by turning the mixture quality screw. As soon as it was possible to adjust the carburetor to revs in the range of 900-1000 rpm, the VAZ 2107 engine works stably and smoothly, without failures, the number of revolutions is brought to normal with the help of the mixture amount screw. After that, it is worth looking for the optimal position of the quality screw to achieve maximum stable revolutions and repeat the adjustment with the quantity screw to set the nominal number of revolutions.

During adjustment, pay attention to the stop screw of the damper, since a correctly adjusted screw does not allow the damper to come into close contact with the walls of the primary chamber. In the position where the primary chamber damper is fully closed, the throttle shaft tongue should abut against the stop screw. This is necessary so that the damper does not break the walls of the primary chamber in the closed position. The tuned, heated carburetor should keep the idles stable and even, and when the pedal rpm increases, the transition from idle should not be accompanied by dips and jerks.

14. Emulsion wells and carburetor body passages must be completely clean. If rinsing with acetone or solvent has not removed all contamination, use special reamers for cleaning.
Case surfaces mating with cover and case throttle valves, should not have deep nicks and warpage. Slight warpage at the locations of the threaded holes for the cover screws and the passage of the carburetor mounting studs, caused by excessive force when tightening the fasteners, should be eliminated by lapping on sanding paper, as for the carburetor cover, after pressing the adapter sleeves of the air-fuel channels out of the housing.
If the surfaces are significantly non-flat, try to align them with light hammer blows through a soft metal drift and then rub on sanding paper. If in this case it was not possible to eliminate the warpage, replace the housing, as the gaskets will not ensure the tightness of the carburetor connections.
Damage to the threaded holes of the carburetor body elements is not allowed. If the holes cannot be repaired by tapping larger diameters with the installation of repair fasteners or by any other available means, replace the body or, if such replacement is not possible, the entire carburetor assembly.

NOTE
To avoid damaging the thin-walled adapter sleeves, before pressing out, firmly insert metal rods or drill shanks of a suitable diameter (2.9 and 3.8 mm for different sleeves) into their holes.

15. The channels of small diffusers must be completely clean, and undeformed spring clips are installed in the grooves of the end surfaces mating with the grooves of the carburetor body. Pay attention to the marking applied in the casting on the outer cylindrical surface of the diffusers - the calibration number of the atomizer hole, for example "4.5". In addition, the diffusers of the first (lower) and second (upper) chambers differ in the location of the transverse brass pins pressed into their bodies. When removing diffusers, note or sketch their location so that diffusers are not confused when re-installing. After installation in the carburetor body, small diffusers should sit tightly in its grooves, without play and should not fall out under their own weight when the carburetor body is turned over.
16. The body of throttle valves should not have deformation, mechanical damage and torn off threaded holes. The channels and cavities of the body must be clean, and the holes for the axles of the throttle valves must not be noticeably worn out.

NOTE
If the holes for the throttle valve shafts are severely worn, replace the body as a unit with the latter, since the damper and shafts are matched to the body individually and do not have full interchangeability.

17. The branch pipe for supplying vacuum to the vacuum corrector of the ignition distributor and the mixing sleeve of the idle speed system must be securely pressed into their seats and not be damaged.

18. Inspect the accelerator pump sprayer parts. Damage to the sealing surfaces is not allowed. Replace heavily compressed sealing washers. The check ball valve in the fuel supply screw should move easily, without jamming, which is determined by the characteristic knock of the ball, shaking the fuel supply screw in the hand.

  • Econostat;

  • A system that connects both chambers of the carburetor.

Naturally, in order to increase the efficiency of this device, it is necessary to be able to perform its adjustment.

Preventive work

This step must be performed at regular intervals, as it can extend the life of the entire device. During it, the following processes must be performed:

  1. Conduct a visual inspection for deformations and damage.
  2. Clean the surface of the system from different types pollution.
  3. Periodically clean the strainer and flush the chamber containing the float.
  4. Clean air jets.

  1. Using manual pumping, fill the float chamber with flammable liquid.
  2. This action will close the shut-off valve system.

  5. Before replacing the carburetor cover, it is important to ensure that the floats are in the up position and that nothing is interfering with their functionality.

The tightness of the shut-off needle is checked using the same rubber bulb, which creates the same pressure as fuel pump vehicle.

After carrying out all these work, you can proceed to the direct adjustment of the carburetor system.

Idling adjustment on the carburetor VAZ 2105 and 2107

To complete this procedure, you must perform the following steps:

  1. Preheat the power unit to operating temperature.
  2. Set the maximum possible number of revolutions - for this, the so-called quality screw is used. Indicators should exceed the norm by one hundred revolutions per minute.
  3. With the help of the same screw, the engine is activated and the final speed adjustment takes place.

Naturally, the carburetor must be at its workplace and fully connected.

Adjusting the starting system

This stage is also relatively easy and should not cause any special problems for an experienced driver:

  1. The air filtration system is preliminarily removed.
  2. The motor starts, the suction is pulled towards itself.
  3. The air damper is forced to open one third.
  4. The engine speed is set to 3200-3600.

Then it only remains to return the barrier damper to its original position and reduce the number of revolutions by 300 units from the initial level.

Float system adjustment

Initially, it is important to check that the float is in the correct position. If some displacement is observed, then a special bracket-holder can correct the situation. Next is the following procedure:

  1. Remove the cover that covers the chamber.
  2. Move the float to the side a little and pull on the tab of the fixing bracket specially designed for this.
  3. By this action, achieve the state of the system when the visually observed gap between the float and the cover gasket is 6-7 millimeters.

If, when observing the state of immersion, this lumen is more than one or two millimeters, then the needle valve will have to be changed, since its needle is completely out of order.

The gases that break through into the body of the power unit through a tube enter the car's combustion chamber through the carburetor. This makes it possible to reduce the toxicity of the VAZ car engine to an acceptable level. The Pekar model carburetor is more reliable than analogues.

Carburetor specifications

Products of the Pekar trademark, which are intended for use on power units VAZ, do not differ from similar DAAZ devices. The main parameters of this type of carburetor:

  1. Dosing systems: primary chamber diameter - 28 mm, secondary - 32 mm

The procedure for making adjustments to the Pekar-type carburetor on VAZ engines is as follows:

  1. In the float chamber, the level is checked using a special template.
  2. We check the gaps between the contacts in the ignition distributor and the condition of the spark plugs. They must match the heat rating of the engine.
  3. The power package will start and run without load until it reaches operating temperature.
  4. Turning the screw for the amount of the mixture, set the speed crankshaft ranging from 820 to 900 rpm.

One of the carburetors installed on VAZ 2105-2107 cars, produced by the Soviet and later the Russian car industry, is the Ozone DAAZ 2107-1107010-20. Its design is quite simple, so any garage master can repair and configure this device. Let's try and understand its structure.

Features of the DAAZ 2107 device

DAAZ 2107 is a 2-chamber carburetor with a mechanical drive of the primary chamber damper from the gas pedal.

The carburetor consists of:

  • dosing systems (2pcs);
  • secondary mixing chamber transition system;
  • autonomous idle system;
  • pneumatic econostat;
  • launch devices;
  • accelerating pump;
  • spool-type crankcase ventilation systems.

Maintenance and adjustment of DAAZ 2107

The main work on the maintenance and adjustment of the carburetor:

  • inspection for visible faults;
  • surface cleaning and washing;
  • washing the float chamber;
  • cleaning the strainer;
  • cleaning (blowing) or replacing the jets;
  • float chamber adjustment;
  • idle speed adjustment.

If you have never faced such a task, it is better to entrust it to a specialist, but if you have at least some idea of ​​the principle of the carburetor, you can handle it yourself.

1. Let's start with the simplest thing - washing and cleaning. To do this, remove the carburetor from the engine and clean it outside.

2. For this, it is better to buy a special aerosol with a straw. You can buy it at any car dealership. The average price is just over 100 rubles.

4. Visually inspect the float mounting bracket and check its movement.

5. We carry out the adjustment of the float chamber. We take a lid with a float and hang it strictly vertically.

6. We measure the distance from the cover to the side surface of the float. It should be 6-7 mm.

7. If no suitable measuring device is available, use a 6 mm drill bit between the cover and the float. If the distance is greater or less than the indicated one, we achieve the desired value by bending the bracket in one direction or another.

8. Now, in a vertical position, move the float as far as it will go. The distance between its surface and the lid should be 15 mm. If the distance does not correspond to this value, bend or bend the float tongue.

9. After adjustment, do not put the cover back in place.

10. We pass to the strainer.

11. Unscrew the plug and remove it. We rinse with an aerosol and blow it through with a compressor or pump. We put the filter back.

12. Now carefully unscrew the air and fuel jets.

13. We wash and purge them, after which, without confusion, we put them in their places.

14. Now we assemble the carburetor and install it on the engine. All other work will be performed with the engine starting.

15. To adjust the idle speed, we need an electronic tachometer and a slotted screwdriver.

16. Use a screwdriver to tighten the screws for adjusting the quality and amount of fuel until it stops. After that, we release the quality screw by 2-3 turns, the quantity by 3-4.


17. We start the engine, warm it up to operating temperature. We muffle, connect the tachometer, as indicated in the photo, and start again.

18. We turn the quality screw counterclockwise, achieving maximum speed. Turning the quantity screw in the same direction, we increase the speed by another 80-100 units.

19. Now let go of the quality screw (counterclockwise), and check if these revolutions are the maximum for the quantity we have set by turning it left-right.

21. For the most accurate adjustment of the idle speed requires the use of special equipment, such as a CO2 and CH analyzer. It is possible to carry out such adjustment work only in a specialized service.
