Tractor T-40 is a universal and multifunctional agricultural machine on a wheel drive.

Initially, Belarus 82 was equipped with a so-called small cab. The initial use of a small cab helped to quickly master the production of this tractor. Its relative advantages can be considered:

All this made it possible to easily remove the cab and carry out the necessary repairs in the conditions of rural workshops.

But such a cabin had much more disadvantages. First of all, it could not provide comfortable working conditions for the machine operator. The main ones are:

  • insufficient size glazing and above all the height rear window did not allow a high-quality survey;
  • lack of a regular heater;
  • poor quality wiring instrument panel.

In the mid-eighties, the plant began to produce MTZ 82 tractors with a larger cabin. But until that time, the machine operators on their own, with their own hands, made changes to the design or, as they say now, performed tuning of the small cab of the MTZ 82.
