Despite the fact that the Russian car industry was scolded, scolded and, most likely, will scold, VAZ cars do not leave the first lines of sales ratings. Why do buyers forgive them for assembly flaws, cheap finishing materials, and a very controversial design? It's simple - the price. As Henry Ford said - “the nicest car is new car". This is what the Priors and Kalina use, because for the price tag that hangs on these cars in the showrooms, it will not be possible to buy even the simplest European foreign car.

The only ones who got close enough to VAZs of cost are cars produced by Podnebeskaya, however, so far, the attitude towards them is still suspicious, rather than towards domestic cars... Let's take two of the most popular cars from, with similar price tags, and try to figure out which is better - Kalina or Priora.

From a technical point of view, the car is constantly being modernized and improved in all respects. It is for this reason that buying a new car that would cause serious troubles in technical terms is reduced to zero. Moreover, all the most modern technologies and systems are installed in the car, which do not allow it to lag behind new products in this regard. Priora in this regard shows quite a decent result.

As for the Lada Grants, no less well-known to domestic buyers, she came to the market in order to replace the already significantly outdated VAZ 2105 and VAZ 2107. This is just an ideal option for people who often need to transport small-sized loads, who often travel to the country and to nature. Alas, it cannot offer such a grant to its buyer.

In some situations, previously there was not enough traction for a comfortable ride.

Without a doubt, the car should be chosen based on general indicators. Therefore, in this case, it is imperative to weigh all the advantages and disadvantages of each car.

As for Grants, it looks much more crude and not aesthetically pleasing. Most of the complaints were about the rear view of the car, where the trunk looks like a completely foreign body. However, the situation was significantly improved by Granta liftback. There is already a much more interesting and high-quality salon, and it is also possible to choose several equipment options.

If we talk about the Priora wagon and hatchback, then they look great. This is a fairly practical version of the car, which does not have blown lines and other unusual elements. We can say that this is an ageless classic.

Before making final conclusions, it is imperative that you familiarize yourself with this component.

My opinion

Based on experience, I can answer the question which car is better - Lada Granta or Priora. When purchasing, I leaned towards the second option, because of the higher cost. Plus, it is positioned as the flagship of the domestic automotive industry. There is little space in it, but it can be safely called a B-class.

Initially, the goal of improving the version of the 10th family was invested in the creation of Priora. And Grant is a cheaper version of Kalina, which replaced the Zhiguli. It's simple budget car, improved for modern roads.

From all of the above, we can conclude that a VAZ-made car is like a lottery. In each model, there may be a successful or problematic option. Priora is a model that has been tested for decades, and Granta is a more modern car, assembled using new technologies. And, seriously judging by technical specifications, then, in terms of the latest versions, in many criteria, Grant surpasses the Priora, and in cost, including that for some today it is one of the main selection criteria.
