Today we will talk about a good car Audi A4 B8, which is quite popular in our country. It was shown to people in Frankfurt in 2007, and the station wagon (Avant) was shown a little later. In the end, everything was replaced that new body got a new design and it was a big design change from previous versions.

In 2011, the Audi A4 B8 model underwent restyling and changed enough to keep up with modern cars. Today we will talk just about the restyled version.

Exterior

The muzzle has changed quite a lot, it got an even longer hood, on which there are embossed lines that look stylish. Narrow headlights with LED filling and a lens are used, the headlights look aggressive, which pleases. Between the optics is an 8-angle grille with a thin chrome trim. The bumper has embossed lines to emphasize the headlights, there is also a lip, small fog lights and air intakes.

The profile features slightly flared wheel arches to maintain muscular styling. The arches are connected using a stamping line at the bottom, going from bottom to top. The upper features a straight stamping line designed to maintain premium styling as well.


The rear optics are also LED, they also have an aggressive appearance... The trunk lid forms a rather big spoiler with its shape, which is definitely a plus for aerodynamics. The rear bumper has a groove that looks good and also has a plastic insert on it.

The dimensions of the body of the Audi A4 B8 in comparison with the previous version of course have changed:

  • length - 4703 mm;
  • width - 1826 mm;
  • height - 1427 mm;
  • wheelbase - 2808 mm;
  • clearance - 120 mm.

There is also a station wagon version and, most surprisingly, there is an extended Long version, which is a rarity for this class.

Salon


The interior of the car has been completely redesigned, now it looks much more chic and modern. The driver will get a 3-spoke steering wheel with multimedia controls, upholstered in leather. Behind the wheel is a large and beautiful dashboard Audi A4 B8, which has two huge analog speedometer and tachometer sensors, as well as a rather large informative on-board computer.

The center console is decorated with a chrome insert and a small recessed display of the multimedia and navigation system. Below it are the air deflectors, and even below the CD slot and a few buttons for control. The separate climate control unit is a display, knobs with beautiful backlighting, and a few buttons. The tunnel immediately meets us with a small niche for little things, then there is a large gear selector, to the left of it there is a button parking brake, and next to it is the start button of the motor. Near the gearbox selector there are two washers and several buttons responsible for the multimedia system, the location is convenient. Further we are greeted by cup holders, a niche for small items and an armrest.


Seating is good, in front there are excellent leather seats with small lateral support, heating and electric adjustment, but as an option. The back row sports a sofa for three passengers who can comfortably sit there and enjoy the ride, and there is also an armrest. There is ample space in both the front and back.

The trunk of this model is not bad, its volume is 480 liters, and if you want something more, then you can fold the seats and get already 962 liters.

The model has not so many motors in the lineup as previous generations, nevertheless there are enough of them and there are plenty to choose from. There are 6 in total in the line power units, these are 4 gasoline and 2 diesel, let's talk about all in more detail.

  1. The base engine is a 4-cylinder petrol turbo TFSI engine having a volume of 1.8 liters. This motor produces 120 horsepower and 230 H * m of torque. It accelerates the sedan to a hundred in 10.5 seconds, and maximum speed equals 208 km / h. At the same time, the consumption is 8 and a half liters in city mode and 6 liters on the highway.
  2. The second engine is distinguished by an increased turbine pressure, which, as a result, made it possible to increase the power to 170 horsepower and to 320 H * m of torque. Acceleration was reduced to 8 seconds, and the maximum speed increased to 230 km / h. Consumption decreased by 1 liter in city mode, and on the highway fell by almost a liter and a half.
  3. The diesel engine Audi A4 B8 TDI is a 2-liter turbo engine that produces 150 horses and 320 units of torque. The dynamics here is, in principle, not bad, 9 seconds to a hundred and 210 km / h maximum speed. This engine pleases with fuel consumption, because you will have less than 6 liters in the city and almost 4 liters on the highway, and diesel fuel itself is cheaper.
  4. There is also the same engine, but with an increased power up to 177 horses and a torque of up to 380 H * m. He will already accelerate the sedan to one hundred kilometers per hour in 8 seconds, and the maximum will allow him to go 222 km / h. His consumption is about the same.
  5. Also in the lineup there is a 2-liter gasoline turbo internal combustion engine, which in its stock has 225 horses and 350 torque. There are good dynamics here, it is 7 seconds to hundreds and 250 km / h of maximum speed. At the same time, the consumption is about the same as that of the first engine, even less along the highway.
  6. Finally, the last and most powerful engine in the lineup is the V6 gasoline turbo. This engine with a volume of 3 liters produces 272 horses and 400 H * m of torque. It accelerates in 5.4 seconds, and the maximum speed is limited to 250 km / h. Its consumption is, of course, the highest, 11 liters in the city and 6 on the highway.

The gearboxes are offered completely different, there are 6-speed mechanics, variators, as well as a 7-speed S-Tronic robot. The drive of a car can also be different, there are front-wheel drive versions, and there are versions with a system all-wheel drive quattro.

In terms of reliability, all motors have it, and in particular, previous versions have it, so if you want to buy a used old version, you can safely take a car with a mileage of 200,000 kilometers. In terms of speed, even the first generation motors have the characteristics that cars now have. budget class, while the first generation used is cheaper than new car budget class.

As for the cost, the situation is as follows, the models are offered on secondary market at completely different prices. Sellers are asking from 800,000 rubles and reach 2 million rubles. The fact is that it all depends on the engine, the configuration and the availability of additional options, which the manufacturer offered a lot.

The basic version of the model was equipped with:

Mid-size premium sedan Audi A4 of the fifth generation (with the internal designation "B9") debuted at the end of June 2015 - on the vastness of the World Wide Web ... went on sale in major markets (including Russia).

As a result of "reincarnation" - the Ingolstadt "a-four" remained faithful to the corporate style, but completely renewed its equipment (while adding in size, but throwing off "extra pounds").

The appearance of the "fifth" Audi A4 did not become a big surprise - the three-box retained its recognizable shape, although it was transformed in accordance with the latest trends in the corporate style of the brand from Ingolstadt.

The car looks beautiful and presentable, and considerable credit for this belongs to the front end: a trapezoidal radiator grill, an aggressive bumper and stylish lighting equipment with L-shaped navigation lights and, resembling a lightning in its shape (by default - bi-xenon, optionally - LED or matrix).

Austere, but not devoid of dynamism, the silhouette of the German Quartet demonstrates correct and harmonious proportions, the solidity of which is added by the embossed wheel arches that accommodate disks ranging from 16 to 19 inches.

The rear of the sedan is made in a calm and laconic style, but is not deprived of modern attributes: LED lights of the original shape and a raised bumper with a pseudo-diffuser.

Depending on the engine, the machine has a single or twin tailpipe at one end, or a pair of pipes spaced apart at the ends.

As a result of a generation change, Audi dimensions A4 has not changed much: 4726 mm in length, 1842 mm in width and 1427 mm in height (the first two indicators, respectively, added 25 mm and 16 mm). The wheelbase of the "German" is 2820 mm, and the size ground clearance Suspension-dependent: 135 mm in the base version, with an emphasis on comfort - 10 mm lower, and on sport - 23 mm lower.

The interior of the "A4 of the fifth generation" is a combination of avant-garde and classics, and most obviously it concerns sedans with a "virtual cockpit", which is a digital instrument cluster with a 12.3-inch screen under the usual visor. In simpler versions, it is replaced by a simple panel with analog dials and a small "scoreboard" in the middle. In front of the driver there is a multifunctional wheel, the design of which is directly influenced by the level of equipment.

In the very center of the presentable front panel there is a “tablet” of the multimedia complex with a diagonal of 8.3 inches, below which a wide air conditioning control unit with an individual display, a pair of “washers” and several buttons “took up defense”. Modern design is echoed by high-quality finishing materials (expensive leather, real wood and aluminum) and a premium level of workmanship.

For the "fifth A4" there are anatomical chairs with a well-thought-out profile, pronounced support on the sides, a wide range of settings and heating (optionally also with ventilation, and even with electrical adjustment of the lumbar support). The increased dimensions of the body also affected the organization of the rear passenger seats - there was more space on all fronts.

Amenities for a fee include a 10.1-inch multimedia center screen and individual climate settings.

The trunk of the sedan does not shine with capacity, but 480 liters should accommodate without problems.

Specifications. On Russian market The 5th generation Audi A4 is available with a wide range of turbo four-cylinder engines, each with a dedicated 7-band S tronic.

By default, the car is equipped with a front-wheel drive transmission, and for the most powerful gasoline unit is available quattro system with a self-locking differential that divides the thrust in a ratio of 40:60 in favor of the rear (if necessary, up to 70% of the available potential can go forward, and up to 85% back).

The gasoline part is presented in three options:

  • the base of which is a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine with direct fuel supply, producing 150 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque in the range from 1500 to 3000 rpm. It allows the German D-sedan to “shoot” from 0 to 100 km / h in 8.9 seconds and gain 210 km / h “top speed”, consuming an average of 4.9 liters of fuel in combined mode.
  • it is followed in the hierarchy by the 2.0 TFSI ultra engine, equipped with direct fuel injection, a turbocharger and electronic coolant level control technology, which is available in two boost levels. Its returns include:
    • 190 "horses" and 320 Nm of thrust at 1450-4200 rpm,
    • or 249 forces 370 Nm of limiting torque at 1600-4500 rpm.

    In the first case, the fifth Audi A4 spends 7.3 seconds to accelerate to the first hundred, in the second - 1.5 seconds less, the maximum speed reaches 240 and 250 km / h, respectively. In the combined driving cycle, the three-volume box consumes an average of 4.8-5.7 liters of fuel per 100 km of run.

  • Available for the "four" in the back of the B9 and a 2.0-liter turbodiesel, which, depending on the modification, generates:
    • 150 "mares" of power and 320 Nm of maximum thrust at 1500-3250 rpm
    • or 190 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque ranging from 1750 to 3000 rpm.

    With the "junior" unit, the car exchanges 100 km / h after 8.7 seconds and "storms" to the maximum of 219 km / h, with the "senior" unit these figures are 7.7 seconds and 237 km / h, respectively. The "appetite" of such a sedan varies from 3.7 to 4.1 liters in the combined cycle.

It is not excluded that in the future more efficient diesel engines will be brought to our country - V-shaped "six" with a volume of 3.0 liters, producing from 218 to 272 "horses" of power and from 400 to 600 Nm of potential.

The fifth generation of the Audi A4 is built on the modernized MLB bogie, which is based on high-strength steel, winged metal and composite materials, which, depending on the installed engine, saved up to 120 kilograms of weight. A five-link suspension is mounted at both the front and rear, in which the upper arms are connected to the bodywork for optimal rigidity.

Optionally, the "German" is equipped with adaptive shock absorbers with two settings - comfortable and sporty.

The steering of the car "flaunts" an electromechanical amplifier (for a surcharge - with a variable gear ratio), a brake system- disc mechanisms on all wheels (front - with ventilation).

Options and prices. In the Russian market, the fifth generation Audi A4 in 2018 is offered in three equipment options - "Base", "Design" and "Sport".

  • Per base car, equipped with a 150-horsepower engine and a front-wheel drive transmission, dealers ask for a minimum of 1,970,000 rubles. By default, it boasts: six airbags, 16-inch alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlights, light and rain sensors, heated front seats, a dual-zone "climate", electrically adjustable and heated exterior mirrors, a multimedia complex, an audio system with 8 speakers, ERA-GLONASS technology, ABS, ESP, rear parking sensors, "cruise" and other modern equipment.
  • For the configurations "Design" and "Sport" you will have to pay from 2,150,000 rubles, and a car with all-wheel drive will cost from 2,499,000 rubles. The first version has 17-inch wheels, a three-spoke multi-steering wheel with leather trim, an interior lighting package and some other "gadgets", and the second one has 18-inch "rollers", a more developed body kit around the perimeter of the body, sports front seats, and interior upholstery, headlining and dashboard in black materials.

The first thing I liked - the navigation is cool, on the dashboard it is more detailed, as if approximate, on the screen in the middle of the dashboard - more scaled, bright color, with a bunch of information about the nearest places of rest, gas stations, hotels. Further - Shumka. Here's the thing: Pirelli wheels 18 inches, low profile. The cabin is quiet, somewhere after 120 there is a noise in the arches, it does not interfere with talking in a low voice, but there is. In the last four, there was a radio with a subwoofer, an SD card was playing, discs. It sounded good, but I'm not a music lover. On new Audi A4 is also a subwoofer, like 10 speakers, reproduces everything that is possible, except perhaps vinyl. To my ears, as well as to the ears of all outsiders and not so listeners, it sounds cleaner and tastier. And there are more settings. A little about the salon. The Audi A4 has a salon, as the right guys like to say, is just a spaceship. And I agree with them - stylish, beautiful, high quality, you don't have to reach anywhere - everything is convenient, at hand. Only confused. If on that A4 everything was intuitive, then here I did not understand half of the options. Literally today I accidentally found out - it turns out that I have active cruise control. Overall, the interior is impressive. Yes, the wood is real - a gray oak, however, the rest is also real - metal metal, soft plastic, although I don't know who touches it in life. Sports chairs, Alcantara perforated with leather, with S-line imprints on the backs, well, this is a reason to feel cool, this is understandable, but about the chairs - on the previous one I also had sports chairs, these are much better. My wife and I drove almost without getting up for 16 hours from Moscow - and nothing got sick, did not ache and did not lurch. And we, unfortunately, are far even over 30. The chairs are electric, they sat down comfortably almost immediately and have not changed the settings yet, they sit well. How she rides! Everything is new in it - the engine, chassis, gearbox. As if glued to the road. They say that you can also go sideways on it. It is difficult to imagine this yet.

Advantages : rides great. Equipment. Options. Interior comfort.

Several days of searching, calling dealers, prepaying one of them and buying this car from another. As a result, I took an Audi A4 2 liters, 249 forces, four-wheel drive, sports equipment, two S-lines, 18th disks, an electric driver's seat, LED front-rear headlights, music 10 speakers with a subwoofer, piano lacquer inside, a comfort package and maybe I forgot. Having driven the first 200 km, the sensations are only positive. The headlights are fire, the suspension is super, the box is good, the steering is very wonderful, the music is 3 plus. Very nice car. Shumka is very good. The beauty in the salon is simply incredible, the extended illumination makes itself felt, there are many different colors, and there is also an opportunity to choose your own color. Sports seats hold just super, and as a bonus, excellent fifth point grip with the Alcantara interior. The size inside is like the Audi A6.

Advantages : spacious salon... The quality of the materials. Engine box.

disadvantages : price.

After the theft of the previous car, Nissan Murano began to consider options from the big German three. Stopped at Audi A4. Comfort: Terribly uncomfortable sports seats that lack lumbar support, although lateral support is high. Yes, I am a person with an unhealthy back, after half an hour's ride, my back starts to ache, my legs become numb, and my heel hurts. Otherwise, there is nothing that I could find fault with in terms of a comfortable ride. Sound insulation is good; music (some improved) at the level. Pits swallows not badly (worse than Murano, but no need to complain). The steering wheel (sports) is comfortable, all the buttons are at hand, the speedometer screen is just a miracle, here BMW and Mercedes look and cry, the gearbox switches great and on time, although, again, on Murano, it seems, it was no worse. Of the minuses - a non-removable screen in the middle. For some reason, it seems to me that someday they will definitely break the glass and try to pull it, mistaking it for a tablet, but this is probably a phobia after theft. The handling is excellent. Cons: a terrible, huge, monstrous cricket somewhere below near the left leg. I don't know what it is, but it feels like it's not even a cricket, but some kind of creature that is about to chop off half my legs. And this is on the new German. I do not know whether to be happy or not, but so far this is the only negative at the moment of the significant. Consumption: 6 liters on the highway, 10 liters in the city, I don't know if it will increase or not, while it stays at this level. I understand cars like a pig in oranges, that is, all I know is where to pour water into the washer, and even then not in every car I can find, so there were some concerns about the great and terrible "oil maker", but so far there is a complete order. So far, the car has not failed, but what could be with the car with such a mileage? I drove an Audi A4 to the Volga, walked confidently along the highway, picked up speed pretty well, again I really like the handling. General conclusions: the car is not bad. To be honest, the interior of the car evokes a wild delight in me, I really like the way it drives, so I won't say that I regretted the purchase, but I also cannot say that I am in a state of euphoria.

Advantages : insulation. Perfectly swallows pits. Comfort. Controllability.

disadvantages : uncomfortable sports seats. The panel screen does not retract.

About my feelings: Audi A4 is an unrealistically cool car, you just stand next to it and enjoy it, not only I noticed it. You open heavy doors, you sit inside and the pleasure moves to a new level. The materials fit just perfectly, the joints are unreal, they were made by some crazy people. Ease of landing. In all the cars that I had, I understood that I was sitting. The legs were almost always at a 90 degree angle. In the Audi A4, as soon as you get into the car, you immediately sink into the seats, the body takes on a kind of reclining stretched state. No adjustments to the seats can remove this. At first it was unusual, but then I realized how convenient it is. The trunk is generally a separate topic, it is more deeply than on the same Q5, plus / minus in width is the same. And the clearance, even with a body kit, is also quite for itself, it seems to me, like most sedans (most likely this is the merit of an overstated suspension for countries with poor coverage).

Advantages : Car is a pleasure to own.

I am very pleased with the car, given my youthful ambitions, he copes with a bang. The motor is enough to have fun and at the same time not to be killed. After the first MOT, everything is ideal, I hope, it will continue to be so. On long journeys in the Audi A4, you don't get tired at all, it's a pleasure. I wanted to overtake - I went out, I didn't even blink an eye, I wanted to, you go calmly and enjoy the comfort. In the city, you can always get into the silk in the parking lot, despite the size, the car is very compact (all these cameras and front parking sensors are trinkets, the rear ones are enough). And, of course, a chic salon, which to this day evokes emotions among passengers. Externally, the equipment of the Audi A4 is far from top, but the emphasis was placed on the interior.

Advantages : comfortable salon. Lots of options. Engine operation. Suspension.

disadvantages : the cost of additional options.

In fact, we can assume that the Audi A4 B5 is 80 due to the fact that in 1994 Audi decided to make a deep restyling of the 80th and give it the name A4. It was produced in the sedan body, but later there was a station wagon body. In all its dimensions, the model was almost the same as the Audi 80, so in the cabin, there are also things reminiscent of the 80th.

The first body was considered an experiment and was built on the same platform as. From the predecessor, as already mentioned, only the size remained, but they also took a 2.6-liter engine, it was slightly modified and began to be used in the new model, but still after that it also disappeared from the car.

A lot of different technologies were used, but the company did not begin to include all these technologies in mass production, they had to give up a lot, for unknown reasons. The Audi A4 is very similar to the Passat of those years, they differed only in the shapes of the bodies and the interior, everything else was almost the same. As a result, this model received a status from buyers not as ordinary car, but as a more solid car and because of this, it began to compete well with cars in the D-class.

The exterior, of course, is outdated by modern standards, the smooth embossed hood, narrow halogen headlights and a small chrome grille, all of this looks far from modern. The massive front bumper has plastic protection and air intakes, but still this model does not justify.

The profile is as simple as possible, slightly inflated wheel arches, plastic protection below and in fact there is nothing more interesting here. At the rear, small halogen headlights are used, an embossed trunk lid of the Audi A4 B5, which visually forms a spoiler with its shape, but in fact it is not. Massive rear bumper equipped with a plastic insert and nothing else on it.

There was also the Avant station wagon, which was distinguished by its high roominess and slightly better cross-country ability.

The interior, of course, will not surprise with anything either. There are good leather chairs, but the truth is in expensive versions, which are quite rare. The seats are really comfortable, a person of almost any build will feel comfortable on them. There is plenty of room for both the legs and the head. The back row has a sofa for three passengers with an armrest, there is also enough space, but unfortunately there is not so much of it.


The steering wheel of a car can be both 3-spoke and 4-spoke, it is sheathed with leather and is adjustable in height and reach. The instrument panel is a set of light bulbs in the event of a malfunction, as well as analog gauges for the speedometer, tachometer, fuel level and oil temperature.

The center console received oval air deflectors, below we can see the light control buttons, and already under all this we are met head unit, which is no longer found. Below is the control unit for separate climate control, but it was in 1994. These are a couple of monitors and a number of buttons to control all this.

The tunnel has a small ashtray, a cigarette lighter, a rather big gear selector, a parking brake knob and a huge armrest. The trunk is very important in such cars, it is quite roomy here luggage compartment volume of 440 liters, which can be increased to 720 liters by folding the seat building.

The model had in its lineup just a huge number of power units, which are very reliable, since they still drive. These units are not economical by modern standards, since the base unit already uses 11 liters. The car is built absolutely on new platform, which has a fully independent suspension made of aluminum. A multi-link system is used both at the front and at the rear. The brakes are fully disc brakes, but only the front ones have ventilation.

As you already understood, you definitely have a choice. In addition to the motors, you can also choose a gearbox, since there were 5-speed manual transmissions, as well as 4 and 5-speed automatic transmissions. The engines are old, of course, but they still live and are cheaply maintained.


Price

Of course, you can only find such a new car in the Audi Museum, but it will not be sold to you.
