Nissan Murano is a mid-size crossover made in Japan with wheel arrangement 4x2 and 4x4. This SUV is aimed primarily at the American market. Design

Like its predecessor, the 2016 Murano is based on the Nissan D design - a similar platform underpinning the Maxima, Pathfinder, Teana, Elgrand and Quest. With the old version, the novelty is united by the same wheelbase, along with the attachment points of the subframes to the body, the floor panel and suspension schemes - it also has a MacPherson strut in front, and a multi-link suspension in the back. The SUV also retains all-wheel drive with an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch on the rear axle and hydraulic power steering, but the settings of the shock absorbers and springs have changed and stiffer stabilizers have appeared. lateral stability(in front they became stiffer by 5%, and at the back - by 23%).

Adaptation to Russian conditions

Work on the adaptation of the third-generation crossover for Russia was carried out for 8 months, as a result of which its suspension became more assembled and controllability improved significantly. Of course, the Murano was not made into a high speed fan's dream, but it was definitely made a super comfortable family car. In the new Murano, the seats, the rear sofa and the multifunction steering wheel are heated. Ventilation is available only for the front seats, the headrests of which, by the way, have built-in displays of the entertainment system for second-row passengers, as well as USB and HDMI inputs. For complete happiness here, perhaps, only heating the windshield with incandescent filaments is not enough. Leather, plastic, textiles, chrome and mother-of-pearl details were used for the interior decoration. The interior is adorned with a sleek center console, whose outline echoes the V-shaped trim on the radiator grille. The dashboard is quite informative and readable and has a classic layout: two wells with a speedometer and a tachometer + a screen with high quality images, and not some small monochrome, but a color seven-inch. You can flip through the pages of the screen and select the information displayed on it using the button located on the right spoke of the steering wheel.


The widespread use of high-strength steel has made the model body lighter and more rigid, as evidenced by the results of crash tests by the North American Institute of IIHS, including rollover tests. The essence of this test: the roof corner is subjected to a load that gradually increases until the moment of critical deformation, and the machine is considered safe if it is able to withstand a load at least 4 times its own weight.
