Comfort and fit is very comfortable, noise isolation is acceptable, no better, but no worse than in cars of other brands. On long trips, the back does not get tired and the fifth point does not numb. If you have at least a little experience, on the track you will easily overtake both trucks and columns. Of course, this car does not have the throttle response of a 2.5-liter engine, but it’s somehow not correct to compare them, and in comparison with other cars with a 1.6 and even 1.8 liter engine, the Subaru XV is not inferior (my last car with motor 2.4 l front-wheel drive). In winter and spring, I traveled over rough terrain and on an icy track, this is a completely different story, all-wheel drive is set up so that even at first glance it somehow finds a way out of hopeless situations, this cannot be described in words, it must be felt and seen. But everything cannot be perfect in a car, the suspension in the Subaru XV is a bit harsh, but this is a tribute to handling, especially since the stiffness in the suspension is more than compensated by wheels with 17 disk diameters. By the way, for the winter I put 16th wheels with a high rubber profile, the overall diameter of the wheel remained the same, and the car rides softer. Another disadvantage is the relatively small trunk.

I wait until the break-in period passes. “Shumka” suits me (here I found on the Internet that the sound insulation on the Subaru XV is terrible - they probably didn’t drive this car at all, I already tried to start the car twice), the interior does not creak or whistle, the plastic is soft, the interior spacious. Otherwise, everything is fine so far, I'll go through the run-in and see what happens next. Drove 2000 km, on the highway there is uncertainty on overtaking. If you buy such a horse for yourself, take it with a 2-liter engine on the mechanics. In the city and on the impassability I feel confident, where the tanks will not pass, I will crawl along the impassability. There were "crickets" in the cabin recently.

As a checkpoint, both the traditional, honest “mechanics” and the variator act. The manual transmission has 5 steps on a 1.6-liter car, and 6 gears on a 2-liter. CVT upsets with a noticeable noise background and some “stupidity”, and given the tendency of CVTs to overheat, it becomes clear that it is better to drive off-road with it carefully and without fanaticism.

Both motors have an opposite layout, which gives the car some advantages over its competitors. The main thing is controllability. At speed, the car goes along the road like a glove, the turns go “like on rails”, and the branded boxer, which allows you to sink the center of gravity and the filigree settings of the “steering wheel”, make the “taxiing” simply excellent. But in the pits, the suspension is losing ground. And although the shock absorbers do not work for a breakdown, the crossover shakes fairly.

On the country road, you can feel very confident. There is no “underdrive” at all - only complete. The manual transmission comes with a time-tested viscous coupling and differential, and a couple of new “gadgets” will make up the CVT - a friction clutch and electronics. Off-road confidence is also given by the huge ground clearance - 22 cm. The geometry of the body is also on top.

From the interior, the sensations are contradictory - everything seems to be on the case, but it's too simple. There is no highlight. However, all options work properly.
