A consortium of Austrian and Hungarian banks supported shareholders in the construction of the first plant in Bratislava. The MATADOR brand appeared on many rubber products that were produced at the new enterprise. In 1932, the Bratislava plant merged into a joint-stock company with the Prague rubber goods plant in Vysočany, headquartered in Prague.

In a short time, the MATADOR plant became the main enterprise of the joint-stock company and unambiguously reoriented itself to the production of tires. "Matadorkas" became popular throughout Europe.

1937 - opening of two brand stores in Bratislava. 1938 - occupied by German troops during World War II. “MATADOR” was excluded from the corporate “rubber” register for some time.

After the end of World War II in 1946, MATADOR returned to the economic structure of Czechoslovakia and a year later began to create a tire manufacturing enterprise in Pukhov. The launch of production was negatively affected by the events of 1948, as high-performance technology from the United States remained overseas. The plant in Pukhov was included in the joint trade mark BARUM - reduction of enterprises BAta-RUbena-Matador. During the period of socialist Czechoslovakia, the Pukhov enterprise was named Gumarne 1.Maja, Puchov, and the tires produced on it were sold under the BARUM brand.

After the democratic changes in the late nineties and the division of Czechoslovakia into two independent states, as part of the privatization processes, the BARUM trademark fell into the hands of the German concern Continental AG. Pukhovsky plant Gumarne 1.Maja, Puchov, after privatization moved to a managerial joint-stock company and returned to the first trade mark "MATADOR". The shareholders obtained it through the acquisition of the main company - a plant in Bratislava.
