Product compatibility

It would seem that the combination of tomato and cucumber is a traditional Russian salad.

However, there is a catch. Have you paid attention to the fact that such a salad spoils very quickly?

Tomato is a sour vegetable and cucumber is a non-starchy vegetable. They are digested by various enzymes. As a result, one is digested, the second rots, which can form gases in the stomach.

Cucumbers with tomatoes in a joint form is better not to give to children. In general, it is best to remove the skin from tomatoes (it is not digested at all). You can pour boiling water over the tomato and the skin can be easily removed.

In Ayurveda there is a large section, which is called “Compatibility of products with each other”. It is very important to know the compatibility of products with each other, since in the process of joint digestion of incompatible products, poisons and toxins can occur.

Pay attention to your eating habits and try to get rid of bad ones. For example, often after a meal in a restaurant, we are served fruit for dessert or a fruit salad. So, if you eat an apple immediately after dinner, then a process of fermentation and gas formation will occur. So, an apple eaten immediately after a meal will be digested in 30 minutes and will begin to rot while all other food will still be digested.

It is believed that fruits can only be mixed with fruits. And sweet fruits can only be mixed with sweet ones, sour fruits only with sour ones. Melon and watermelon don't go well with anything. That is, ending the meal with a watermelon is categorically not welcome.

Do not mix fruits and vegetables. The only exceptions are 5 fruits: pineapple, dates, pomegranate, raisins and lemon. Only these fruits can be mixed with vegetables.

Cereals are not recommended to be mixed with other grains. Mixes of cereals and breakfast cereals, which are sold in stores like "Seven Cereals", or "5 Cereals", and other mixtures are not useful! They only make you weaker. The fact is that each type of grain is digested in its own time. And the mixture takes longer to digest. The same can be said about bad eating habits: it is not recommended, for example, to eat porridge with bread, since you eat two cereals, say rice and wheat. Similarly, I can say about the mixture of black and white rice, which is sold in stores. Do not use such a mixture, as these are two different varieties of cereals.

Legumes can also be mixed with each other. For example, you can combine beans and lentils.

You can also mix grains with legumes. Grains and legumes individually are digested by 40%, and cooked together are digested by 80% each.

Milk doesn't mix with anything. Remember your childhood: a glass of fresh milk, a crust of bread ... Tasty, but, unfortunately, not healthy. The fact is that milk can be consumed either in the morning or in the evening, and cereals for lunch. So, just milk and a crust of bread do not combine in terms of the time of their use.

Recently, a lot of different studies have been carried out, which say that milk is not digested, not absorbed, causes discomfort in the stomach and is not useful at all. So, milk is a specific product, and if it is used incorrectly, then, of course, there will be discomfort. Try some milk with pickles… In addition, the milk that is subjected to such “research” in quotation marks is, as a rule, milk from tetrapacks, pasteurized, sterilized or reconstituted from milk powder. It is difficult to call such a product even milk.

Let's reveal one secret: milk is a blissful sattvic product, and for people who are in a state of tamas, milk causes discomfort. The body of these people, as a rule, is slagged, clogged with "garbage" from the use of alcohol, meat, tobacco, and is destroyed by an unhealthy lifestyle. Such an organism is not able to take milk. So, the secret is just that if you want to help a person break out of the state of deep tamas, reveal his potential, return love to his life, help get rid of bad addictions, then give him milk to drink. Just do it right. Start with a teaspoon at night, gradually increasing the intake. Mix milk with spices, so it is better absorbed, and it seems tastier. In this case, use natural country milk or the most natural milk. On how to determine whether milk is good or not, look at the recipe for making paneer cheese, and you will understand what we are talking about.

Let's recap: milk in its pure form is a separate product that can only be consumed in the evening (and in the morning). Drinking milk is a separate meal. Various dishes that use milk, such as soups or cereals, are separate products in which the milk is processed and changes its properties. Such dishes using milk, of course, can be consumed.

Honey and ghee must not be mixed in the same dish in a one-to-one ratio. Even despite the fact that honey and ghee are one of the most valuable products. These are not just products, but medicinal products. And in the dish, priority should be given to one of these products. By the way, the delivery of drugs into the body with the help of alcohol is considered the most aggressive method of drug delivery. Therefore, in Ayurveda, medicines are mainly made with honey or ghee oil, without the use of alcohol.

Below we provide a small list of products that are not compatible with each other. Study it and apply this knowledge in the preparation of your daily diet.

Incompatible:
Milk and bananas, yogurt, eggs, melon, fish, meat, sour fruits, rice and legume pilafs, yeast bread;
Melon and grains, starch, fried foods, dairy products;
Yogurt and milk, melon, sour fruits, hot drinks (including tea and coffee), starch, cheese, bananas;
Starches and eggs, bananas, milk, dates;
Honey and an equal amount of ghee (honey is toxic when heated above 40 degrees);
Nightshade (potatoes, tomatoes, etc.) and yogurt, milk, melon, cucumbers;
Corn and dates, raisins, bananas;
Lemon and yogurt, milk, cucumbers, tomatoes;
Eggs and milk, meat, yogurt, melon, cheese, fish, bananas;
Radishes and milk, bananas, raisins;
Fruit with any other food. Fruits should not be mixed with other products (including dairy products) - in this case, they cause fermentation, gas formation. Exception: pomegranate, pineapple, lemon (lime), dates, raisins (can be mixed with other foods, such as vegetables).

A great role for good digestion and reduction of intoxication of the body from the processes of putrefaction and fermentation in the stomach and intestines is played by the correct combination of products consumed at a time. The fact is that for each type of food, digestive juices of a certain composition are allocated, which contribute to the most efficient digestion of this product. With a mixed diet, such combinations of products often occur when one type of food prevents the absorption of another.
Herbert Shelton wrote: “We do not benefit from food that is not digestible. To eat and at the same time spoil food in the digestive tract is a waste of food. But even worse, spoiled food leads to the formation of poisons that are very harmful ... An amazing number of cases of food allergy disappear completely when patients learn to eat food in the right combinations. Such people suffer not from allergies, but from indigestion of food. Allergy is a term applied to proteins poisoning.Abnormal digestion carries into the bloodstream not nutrients, and poisons.
The following is a classification of foods with indications of correct and incorrect combinations. All products are divided into 10 groups.

Instructions for use of the table of compatible products

You should not immediately try to remember all the valid combinations of products.
Write down (or remember) all the types of foods that you personally usually eat or use in cooking. And it is within this list that you create your own compatibility "table". If you find that some combinations were incompatible, modify those recipes or food combinations. As a result, you should get a menu that does not differ too much from your usual diet. In the future, it will be easy for you to add new components to it, referring to the main table.

Group 1. Sweet fruits

Bananas, dates, persimmons, figs, all dried fruits.
Ideally combined with each other (bananas with figs), with semi-acid fruits (persimmon with apple) and with fermented milk products (dates with curdled milk).
It is acceptable to combine with nuts, milk, moderately starchy and starchy vegetables, herbs and non-starchy vegetables.
When combined with all other products, they cause fermentation.
Note
All fruits are very useful if consumed as a separate meal. You can not eat fruits and fruit juices as a dessert. It is better to drink juices half an hour - an hour before meals.

Group 2. Semi-acid fruits

Apricots, mangoes, watermelons, melons, blueberries, blueberries;
sweet in taste: apples, pears, grapes, cherries, plums, peaches, etc. Tomatoes belong to the same group according to their properties.
They go well with each other (apple with plum), with sweet fruits (pear with persimmon), with sour fruits (peach with orange), with fermented milk products (apple with kefir).
Compatible with protein foods that contain a lot of fat - with cheese, nuts, fatty cottage cheese (cherries with cheese, pears with nuts), with herbs and non-starchy vegetables (cucumber with plums).
Combinations with other protein products are harmful (apple with meat, apricots with egg).
In combination with starches (grape juice with bread) and with semi-starchy vegetables (plum with pumpkin) they cause fermentation.
Note
Melon, blueberries and blueberries are incompatible with any other product. They are perfectly digested if they are not eaten in addition to food, but as a meal (or in a small amount an hour before a meal).

Group 3. Sour fruits

Oranges, tangerines, grapefruits, pineapples, pomegranates, lemons; sour taste: apples, pears, cherries, plums, peaches, grapes; currant, blackberry, cranberry, etc.
They go well with semi-acid fruits (grapefruit with apple), with fermented milk products (ryazhenka with orange).
Allowed in combination with fatty cottage cheese, nuts, seeds, cheeses, with herbs and non-starchy vegetables (currants with salad). Incompatible with other protein products (tangerine with egg, cranberry with fish).
Incompatible with starches (orange with potatoes), with sweet fruits (pineapple with dates) and with semi-starchy vegetables (lemon with green peas).

Group 4. Non-starchy vegetables

Cucumbers, cabbage, sweet peppers, green beans, etc.
They go well with proteins (meat with cucumbers), fats (cabbage with butter), moderately starchy vegetables (tomato with zucchini), starches (bread with cucumbers), herbs (bell peppers with dill and onions).
It is permissible to combine with fruits.
Cannot be consumed with milk.
Group 5. Moderately starchy vegetables
Beets, turnips, swedes, carrots, seaweed, zucchini, eggplant, pumpkin, green peas.
They are successfully combined with starches (zucchini with bread), non-starchy vegetables (green peas with cucumber), fats (carrots with sour cream), herbs.
It is permissible to combine with fermented milk products (kefir with carrots), cheese, cottage cheese, nuts, seeds.
Compounds with proteins (eggplants with meat, green peas with eggs), sugars (pumpkin with jam), fruits (turnip with banana), and milk are harmful.
Group 6. Starchy foods
Wheat, rye, oats and their products; cereals; buckwheat, millet, barley, rice; potatoes, chestnuts, etc.
Ideal with greens (bread with salad), non-starchy vegetables (potatoes with cabbage) and moderately starchy vegetables (porridge with pumpkin).
It is permissible to combine various types starches among themselves (pasta with bread) and starchy foods with fats (porridge with butter). However, the combination of various starches is not recommended for people who are prone to fullness. when eating starchy foods with fats, it is also advisable to eat something from greens or non-starchy vegetables.
With a big stretch, combinations with cheese, nuts, seeds are allowed.
Combinations of starches with animal proteins are very harmful, incl. with milk (bread with potatoes, potatoes with fish), with sugars (porridge with sugar, bread with jam), with any fruit (potato with apple, bread with grapes).
Note
Mushrooms in any form, sauerkraut and other pickles (cucumbers, tomatoes, etc.) are well compatible with potatoes and poorly with bread.

Ideal with greens (salad with sour cream), with non-starchy vegetables (cucumbers with cream) and moderately starchy vegetables (zucchini with butter).
Combinations with starches (bread and butter) are acceptable, but in this case it is also desirable to use greens or non-starchy vegetables.
Compounds with animal proteins (egg with sour cream), with fruits (apple with sour cream), with sugars (cream with sugar, confectionery) are harmful.

Group 10. Sahara

White and yellow sugar, honey, jam, syrups.
It is best to use separately from other products, an hour and a half before meals. In combination with proteins, starches and fats, sugars cause fermentation. Therefore, you can not eat desserts.
In principle, combinations of sugars with herbs and non-starchy vegetables are acceptable.
Note
Honey is an exception general rule. In moderation, it is compatible with all foods except animal foods.

What's happened separate meals?
All foods are divided into three groups: proteins, plant foods and carbohydrates. In the gastrointestinal tract, plant foods can digest themselves. Proteins are broken down mainly by acidic reagents. Carbohydrates are alkaline reagents. There are also fats, but they are compatible with both proteins and carbohydrates.

The logic of separate nutrition is to divide the tables into protein and carbohydrate. The carbohydrate table includes products, the main component of which is carbohydrates (flour, sweets, cereals, potatoes, cereals).
Product classification
The main protein food of animal and vegetable origin: meat, poultry, fish and all products from them, cottage cheese and dairy products, milk, cheese, eggs, legumes, nuts. Foods rich in starch: bread and all flour products, cereals, potatoes.
Meat, poultry, fish. For meat of all kinds, a combination with green and non-starchy vegetables is favorable, because. this combination neutralizes the harmful properties of animal proteins, helps their digestion and removal of excess cholesterol from the blood.
Separate meals in the family
If you want to change your family's eating habits, do so carefully and don't be too hard on your family members. Do not think that all the happiness of life lies in separate nutrition. Always allow some alternative. Eating should be healthy, but for this you do not need to be tough on others. It is quite possible to first switch to separate nutrition yourself, and by your example, by your excellent health, inspire the rest of the members ...
Proper nutrition is fun
All foodstuffs must be fresh, free from harmful substances and, if possible, remain in their natural form. Less is more, this saying can serve as a guide to a balanced and healthy diet. Pay attention to a few basic rules: In an ideal diet, a person receives mainly carbohydrates from vegetables, fruits and whole grains, sufficient amounts of protein and little fat.
The right combination of foods (according to Herbert Shelton)
Never eat carbohydrate and acid foods at the same meal.
Never eat a concentrated protein and a concentrated carbohydrate at the same time (meat with noodles, fish with bread, etc.).
Never eat two concentrated proteins at the same time.
Do not eat fats with proteins (cream with meat, butter with cheese, etc.).
Do not eat sour fruits with proteins.
Separate meals for those who work in the office
It is for those who work in an office that it is often very difficult to stick to a daily eating schedule. Often they do not have enough time to buy fresh food and take something with them to work. As a result, you have to be content with light snacks and convenience foods.
carbohydrate table
Includes products, the main component of which is carbohydrates (flour, sweet, cereals, potatoes, cereals). This is the so-called energy kitchen. She digests quickly. carbohydrates and plant foods should form the basis of daily nutrition.
Protein table
Includes protein-containing products (meat, fish, eggs, nuts). For the normal functioning of the body, the presence of proteins is necessary. But with separate meals, they are completely digested, so their number can be minimized.

Hello dear readers of my blog! Studying information about proper nutrition, I have repeatedly come across the concept of "Product Compatibility Table for proper nutrition". I decided to get acquainted with the basics of separate nutrition, understand the food groups and learn how to combine them.

The main ideologist of compatibility (incompatibility) of products is Herbert Shelton. He conducted research for several years, identified the enzymes involved in the digestion of food. This allowed him to think over and implement the concept of separate nutrition according to Shelton. Its basics are perfectly demonstrated by the product compatibility table.

The combination of products with proper nutrition table

So, what is a table, how to use it? Seventeen cells horizontally, seventeen vertically. The most popular products are listed here. For convenience, they are numbered. Each number corresponds to a column.

A certain color at the intersection of the row and column indicates the level of compatibility:

  • Yellow- are combined at an acceptable level;
  • Green- fit together well
  • Red- don't fit well.

So that you finally understand the principle of working with a table, I will give an example. Bread and meat - can they be served on the same dish and eaten at one meal? Bread - number 7. Meat - number 1. We look at the color at the intersection of row No. 7 and column No. 1 - red. Consequently, they do not combine well, which means that a lot of time will be spent on their digestion.

For convenience, I recommend product compatibility table, print and place in a conspicuous place. So you can't go wrong with the right choice ingredients for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Look at the "color" of compatibility and adjust the menu.

Products from the table

I will not tell you about products such as eggs or vegetable oil. Everything is clear here. But about groups that consist of several products at once, let's call them generalized, I propose to talk separately.

Meat, fish, poultry- These are proteins of animal origin and the group of the most difficult to digest products. They are best cooked without fat. They go well with green vegetables and non-starchy ones. Worse with starchy, incompatible with bread, cereals, potatoes. Let me remind you that alcohol should not be consumed with animal proteins.

Sample menu:

  • Baked chicken with mashed carrots, cauliflower
  • Fish cakes with iceberg leaf salad, arugula, radish
  • Veal soup with celery, leeks, carrots

Legumes- this includes lentils, beans, beans, peas, soybeans. But, do not include green peas, green beans. Legumes are capricious and are well compatible with greens, vegetables (starchy, non-starchy).

Sample menu:

  • Chickpea Salad with Steamed Pumpkin, Carrots, Pumpkin Oil Dressing
  • Lentil cutlets with salad white cabbage, dill, olive oil dressings
  • Beans stewed with cauliflower, carrots, celery

Bread, cereals, potatoes- oats, wheat, rye, buckwheat, rice, millet. Of course, potatoes, bread. Pairs well with herbs and vegetables.

Sample menu:

  • Potatoes stewed with eggplants, bell peppers, carrots, onions
  • Toasts with fragrant green butter (for this you need to mix butter with a fat content of at least 80% with basil, chili pepper, parsley)
  • Green buckwheat with baked beetroot salad, garlic, sesame oil dressing

Sour fruits, tomatoes- these are grapefruits, tangerines, oranges, lemons, pineapple, cranberries, pomegranates, grapes, sour apples. Plus tomatoes, so loved by many gourmets. Combine most successfully with vegetables, cheese, nuts.

Sample menu:

  • Smoothies from green apples, spinach, lemon juice
  • Baked apples with nuts, cinnamon
  • Salad "Caprese"

semi-acid fruits- raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, wild strawberries, sweet apples, apricots, plums, peaches, cherries.

Sample menu:

  • Freshly squeezed juice from grapefruit, orange
  • Fruit salad with apples, strawberries, blueberries
  • Frozen berry ice cream flavored with cinnamon and a drop of honey

Sweet fruits, dried fruits- bananas, persimmons, figs, dates, raisins.

Sample menu:

  • Banana, dates, almond milk smoothie
  • Prunes stuffed with hazelnuts and honey
  • Dried fruits compote

Vegetables are green and non-starchy- parsley, celery, dill, beet tops, radish, lettuce. This also includes white cabbage, onion, green, eggplant, cucumbers, garlic, bell peppers, green peas.

Sample menu:

  • Salad of radishes, cucumbers, dill, white cabbage with sunflower oil dressing
  • Eggplant baked with tomatoes, cheese, garnished with basil greens
  • Cabbage, celery, carrot, garlic, bell pepper soup

Starchy vegetables- carrots, beets, zucchini, horseradish, squash, pumpkin, cauliflower, celery root, parsley. This group of products also includes turnips, radishes, radishes, swedes.

Sample menu:

  • Oven baked carrots with pumpkin, seasoned with pumpkin seeds, olive oil
  • Zucchini spaghetti with pesto
  • Soup - mashed cauliflower

Separately, I want to say about the melon. It doesn't match with anything. It must be eaten separately, as an independent dish.

Separate nutrition for weight loss

Compatibility of products for proper nutrition is very important for weight loss. This is not a diet, this is a special approach that takes into account how one product is combined with another. See how the real inhabitants of nature behave - animals. They don't combine different foods. They don't fry it, they don't process it. Only a person spends a lot of manipulations with food before it enters his stomach. This causes bloating, heartburn, or nausea. The problem is that the products are not digested. And they are not assimilated due to the fact that they do not combine. The simpler the food, the less processed it is, the fewer different components it contains, the easier it is for the body. When there are no such problems, then excess weight goes away by itself.

Therefore, you just have to be more vigilant about cooking and eat only compatible foods at one meal.

Many people have heard about the idea of product compatibility, but few people have resorted to it in practice. It seems difficult, requiring willpower, which is sorely lacking. In fact, such a system does not require great moral costs, because it does not involve a hunger strike or any restrictions, but the observance of certain rules. The theory of separate nutrition for the purpose of losing weight, popular at the beginning of the 20th century, still finds its supporters. There are also many opponents who expose the very idea and its founder.

Separate nutrition is based on the idea of food compatibility, which is the same for all people. Shelton believed that the enzymes produced by the stomach to digest food different kind, differ. So, the enzymes needed to break down carbohydrates will not be able to process proteins and vice versa. If you eat one type of food at a time, this will greatly facilitate the process of digestion and assimilation.

If preference is given to traditional food, in which different ingredients are mixed, then the stomach begins to secrete several enzymes at once. As a result, some foods are broken down faster, others slower, which leads to their long stay in the stomach. This, in turn, entails the processes of fermentation, decay, causes intoxication of the body, metabolic processes are disturbed. As a result - overweight, slagging, poor health.

According to Shelton and his followers, separate food groups should not be combined with each other, they should be consumed only after the previous food is digested and assimilated. Following the system of separate nutrition, it is necessary to abandon tea and coffee, store-bought juices, products containing preservatives, since the ingredients have already been mixed here.

Food groups requiring the production of different enzymes

Separate nutrition for weight loss has the main rule: never eat proteins with carbohydrates at the same time. In order for proteins to be digested, an acidic environment is needed; for the breakdown of carbohydrates, an alkaline environment is needed. If you eat proteins together with carbohydrates, alkaline and acidic enzymes will be simultaneously released for absorption, neutralizing each other. As a result, the digestion process will noticeably slow down, not all food will be processed in the stomach.

Products requiring an acidic environment (protein food):

  • all types of meat;
  • eggs of any bird;
  • Fish and seafood;
  • milk and milk products (including cheeses);
  • mushrooms and nuts.

Starch is considered one of the most common carbohydrates. Starchy vegetables include potatoes, green peas, pumpkin, zucchini, cabbage, carrots, and beets. Little starch is found in green vegetables: cucumbers, celery and others. Carbohydrates in the form of sugar are found in honey, sweet fruits and dried fruits. This group of products will require an alkaline environment. In addition, it is necessary for the processing of cereals and flour products, bananas, chocolate and sweets, and other sweets. Beer also belongs to carbohydrates, so its combination with fish and meat is unacceptable.

Fats are vegetable oils, fatty meats and fish, nuts and seeds. Semi-acid fruits - sweet apples, pears, apricots and peaches, plums, many berries.

Unacceptable combinations with separate meals

Based on data on the composition of foods that require different enzymes for digestion, Shelton deduced combinations that should not be taken together:

  1. Protein + protein (especially saturated). You can not combine, for example, meat and fish, add eggs or nuts to them. All this contains a protein that is qualitatively different from each other. To digest such dishes, a considerable amount of gastric juice is needed; they will be processed and pass through the digestive tract for a very long time. This results in discomfort: gas formation, bloating, disturbances in the work of the intestines.
  2. Proteins + fats (including vegetable). Fat envelops the stomach, preventing gastric juices from forming in sufficient quantities to process and digest protein. As a result, the food is digested longer, some of it remains unprocessed at all.
  3. Proteins + acids. Sour fruits should not be eaten with protein foods: meat, eggs, cottage cheese. The acid secreted by the stomach is enough to break them down. Fruits only slow down the process, cause increased acidity, heartburn. You can’t eat sour fruits immediately after protein: protein is digested mainly in the stomach, so it stays there for 4-6 hours, while the absorption of fruits and berries occurs in the intestines, they are in the stomach for only half an hour. Staying here longer, they start to roam, everyone beneficial features break apart.
  4. Carbohydrates + acids. Digestion of carbohydrates requires an alkaline environment, while excessive acidity leads to the destruction of the enzyme ptyalin, which is necessary for the breakdown of carbohydrates.
  5. Carbohydrates + carbohydrates. Food rich in carbohydrates slows down the digestion process and slows down the metabolism. Excess carbohydrates are stored in the body as fat. That's why you shouldn't mashed potatoes eat bread.
  6. Carbohydrates + sugar. Sweet foods don't go well with anything. If you really want to treat yourself to a piece of cake or your favorite sweets, it is better to do it separately from the rest, as an independent meal, and not as an addition to it in the form of a dessert. It is better to eat sweets before lunch, so that this does not affect weight loss.
  7. Milk should not be consumed with anything, only as an independent drink that replaces a meal. In general, Sheldon believed that a person can do without milk. This is a kids product. Each animal has a special composition of milk (completely different properties of cow, goat, breast milk). It is practically not processed by the body, so there is little benefit from it.
  8. Melon is very useful, contains many vitamins and minerals, cleanses the body. But you need to eat it strictly separately. If you use it together with any other food, it will not bring benefits.

Food compatibility table for separate meals

How to use the table

The table below the numbers shows the main product groups (vertically and horizontally). To understand whether certain ingredients can be combined when cooking, it is enough to find them, find out the numbers and look at the color that appears when they intersect. For example, fish and meat (1) go well with non-starchy vegetables (11), and their combination with starchy vegetables is acceptable (12). But the rest of the cells are painted in red - these are the products that cannot be consumed together with meat.

Sample menu for 1 day (taking into account the data in the table)

Guided by the principles of combination, it is not difficult to create a menu with separate meals.

Breakfast
Scrambled eggs with greens (protein version)
Porridge boiled in water (carbohydrate option)

Dinner
Boiled chicken breast or steamed fish (protein version)
Baked (boiled) potatoes or pasta (carb option)

Dinner
Cottage cheese or kefir (yogurt without additives)
Salad of fresh vegetables or fruits (carbohydrate option)

It is important to know: Carbohydrate food should alternate with protein, fat or acidic foods. So, if protein food was eaten for breakfast, then carbohydrate food for lunch, and dinner should consist of fruits.

Advantages of separate power supply

Many diets are based on the rejection of some products, restrictions, which often causes malfunctions in the body, which does not receive the necessary substances in full. For the same reason, it is difficult for diets to cope with excess weight, since after stress the body stores substances for the future in case of another shortage. Separate consumption is not a diet in the conventional sense, but rather a proper nutrition system that can be followed all the time. In addition to losing weight, adherents of the system consider the advantages of separate nutrition:

  1. Normalization of metabolism. Improper functioning of the digestive organs often causes overweight. The establishment of metabolic processes leads to the fact that food does not stay in the body longer than usual, all unnecessary substances leave it in a timely manner, without being deposited in the form of fat.
  2. Improvement of the cardiovascular system. Since the processes of decay and fermentation in the body completely stop with separate nutrition, the decay products, the main cause of atherosclerotic vascular lesions, do not enter the bloodstream. With this approach, almost all cholesterol is removed, and the new one no longer accumulates.
  3. Diverse menu. You can use almost everything. The main thing is to stick to compatibility. When following the principles of separate nutrition, there is no feeling of hunger, since the goal is not to limit, but to improve digestion and assimilation of food. It is noted, however, that the portion should not exceed 300-400 g at a time.

Separate nutrition does not involve eating food at regular intervals. It is important to wait for a slight feeling of hunger, then start eating. For some, two times is enough. If the next day you want to eat three times, you do not need to suppress hunger. Sooner or later, the body will choose a mode for itself.

Arguments of supporters and opponents of separate nutrition

Proponents of separate nutrition base their assumptions not on any research, but on the belief that initially a person, like other mammals, consumed food unchanged (that is, only meat or only vegetables). Over time, people have learned to mix different ingredients to improve the taste.

Opponents argue that a system of separate nutrition is basically impossible, because there are practically no products containing only protein or only carbohydrates (except sugar and egg protein). They also debunk the basic idea of “food rotting in the stomach”, from which, according to Shelton, health problems and excess weight arise.

Doctors (S. Baxter, E. Chedia, L. Vasilevskaya and others) proved that, in addition to gastric enzymes, pancreatic enzymes are involved in the processing. In addition, R. Minvaleev, a physiologist and candidate of biological sciences, notes that only preliminary processing of food occurs in the stomach, it is split and completely absorbed in the duodenum. All possible enzymes are produced here, regardless of which type follows the digestive tract (only protein, only carbohydrate, acidic or mixed).

Much that a person consumes together really requires the production of various enzymes, but they do not interfere with each other, but complement and help break down indigestible substances. This leads to the fact that the food is quickly processed, and its remains leave the body without harming it. Opponents of the separate power supply system cite the following arguments:

  1. Meat protein will be digested worse if not consumed with carbohydrates (bread or vegetables), which activate the production of pancreatic enzymes necessary for protein processing in the intestines.
  2. Acidic fruits help absorb iron, so they are often eaten with grains.
  3. Fiber, which is enough in any vegetable, is important for proper functioning and timely cleansing of the intestines. Vegetables have always been considered a great addition to meat, because the fiber they contain is necessary for proper bowel function and cleansing.

However, separate nutrition for weight loss is suitable by reducing the calorie content of food and streamlining its intake. Much of what Shelton suggested is the foundation of a healthy diet. For example, everyone knows that it is better not to fry meat (proteins + fats), but to boil, stew or steam it. And fruits are really better to eat separately, they are absorbed together with fats.

The manifestation of many diseases of the endocrine and digestive systems, skin, hairline, nails, etc. can be associated with improper human nutrition. We are accustomed to eating incompatible food, which causes various adverse reactions in the body and leads to malfunctions. The Food Combination Chart is a reminder for people striving for a healthy diet and lifestyle.

Learn to help the body!
