How to replace the washer nozzles

The process for replacing injectors is the same for all vehicles. Before starting work, it is necessary to prepare new hoses through which the "wash" will pass. For these purposes, a tube that is used for aquariums works well.

After that, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Remove the upholstery and carefully pull out the plastic caps.
  2. Remove the buffer foam pads. They usually stick to tape, so you need to prepare some fresh duct tape to reinstall them.

  4. Remove hoses through which fluid is supplied.
  5. Remove the old injectors.

No specialized equipment or special skills are required to adjust the injectors. All you need is a regular needle or safety pin. How to clean the washer nozzles

If the jets began to work incorrectly, then most often the problem can be solved by cleaning these elements from contamination. Before cleaning the windshield washer nozzles, prepare:

  • safety pin or sewing needle;
  • compressor;
  • large volume syringe;
  • soap and water.

Before starting work, it is recommended to check the level of the cleaning liquid in the tank, as the jets may not work due to the missing "washer". After that, you need to disconnect the washer nozzles from the hoses and slightly press on them until they rise.

  1. Wash each nozzle in a soapy solution.
  2. Connect the compressor, turn on the blowdown and apply high pressure to the jet.
  3. If you don't have a compressor at hand, you can use a syringe into which you need to draw water.
  4. Clean the holes with a regular needle or pin.
  5. Insert the syringe into the nozzle and start flushing.

Of course, the compressor will be much more effective, but if the nozzles are heavily clogged and do not allow liquid to enter, then with the help of improvised means you can at least temporarily solve the problem.

Another way is to leave the jets in soapy water overnight and try reusing the syringe or compressor in the morning. This will be useful in the case of particularly stubborn old dirt.

In custody

When installing universal headlight washer nozzles or windshield nozzles, try to adjust them so that they spray liquid onto the glass surface without going beyond its limits. When choosing fan jets, try to give preference to those models that were designed specifically for your car, this will save yourself time on assembling the elements.

Fans are considered more modern, relevant and effective. Although on this score one can argue indefinitely. I do not plan to do this yet.

If you have noticed, then recently many modern cars are equipped with new, useful and simply interesting solutions. Even in basic trim levels inexpensive cars you can find heated seats, heated rear window, a number of other devices and solutions.

Among them, it is worth highlighting the fan nozzles on the wiper. Increasingly, they are the ones that automakers put on cars.

A distinctive feature of the fan is the way of water supply. If conventional jet devices deliver 2-3 separate jets through special nozzles, then a continuous front of water droplets is created here. This makes it possible to cover most of the windshield at the same time. Outwardly, it looks like an open fan. Hence the corresponding name.

And then many people think whether it is worth buying a Renault Logan or Megan, VAZ 2114, Hyundai Solaris, Renault Duster, Kia Rio or any other car for a similar solution. Not everyone understands whether they will be useful, and how the behavior of the washer will change after changing the nozzles.


But let's be frank. There are fans on cars Toyota, Nissan, Volvo and many other modern foreign cars from the factory. Therefore, there are objective reasons for this. Installation

If you had jet nozzles on your car, then you will need to take:

  • set of fans;
  • check valve;
  • hoses;
  • tee.

A check valve is needed to create a stable pressure in the system and to protect against the washer from flowing back into the tank after the pump is turned off. Due to the valve, after turning on the washer, liquid immediately begins to flow through the fan nozzles onto the glass.

Only one valve is used. It is mounted in front of the tee. If you put a valve in front of each of the nozzles, you simply reduce the pressure with your own hands, which will reduce the flow of the jet.


Do not discard old inkjet devices after installation. You can put them inside a separate pocket in ... It is possible that it will come in handy sometime. Or you may not like how the fan system works.

The sequential installation looks like this:

  • the hood is understood and the trim is removed;
  • the feed pipes are dismantled from the old nozzles;
  • old sprayers are removed (the clamps are unclenched, the nozzles are pushed up);
  • a check valve is connected (on some cars it is already there, so you will not have to install it);
  • new fans are being mounted;
  • supply hoses are connected to the nozzles.

Everything, the work is completed. You don't need to have any special skills. If you've done the installation or by changing the oil, then there will be no problems with this task.


Good visibility traffic situation through the windshield of the car allows the driver to safely drive the car in busy traffic conditions. The standard design of the washer may not have a check valve, which is designed to prevent fluid from flowing from the hoses back to the tank when the suction pump is turned off. In addition to it, in the pet store you can also purchase a flexible silicone tube for the manufacture of nozzles for the check valve and nozzles, which are used to supply air to the aquarium. In terms of adaptability to temperature changes and service life, this tube is much superior to the standard hoses used in Zhiguli.

When installing and adjusting the nozzles, it may be necessary to correct the holes, adjust the nozzles in size, direction, height and inclination of the position. To do this, you need to trim, file or, conversely, build up the base of the nozzles using tools and rubber or plastic gaskets. As a result, it is necessary to ensure that the area of ​​liquid splashing on the glass surface is maximal, but does not go beyond its limits.

On cars of the VAZ 2108/2109/21099 model, as well as VAZ 21013/2114/2115 in standard configuration installed conventional wiper nozzles with one channel.   • A ready-made tee with a valve from Mitsubishi.
  • Check valve from the aquarium compressor. The advantages are reliability and efficiency.

How to install fan nozzles?

Contrary to popular belief, installing fan-shaped windshield nozzles is straightforward. The algorithm of actions is as follows:

1. Remove the upholstery (insulation) mounted on the bonnet (if any). Be careful not to break the fragile plastic caps. Pull them out with a special tool or with a pair of screwdrivers.

2. Remove the foam pads that are held on the double-sided tape (you will need a new piece during installation).

3. Discard the covers on the plastic elements.

5. Dismantle old devices. They can be held to the frame or hood using plastic mountings or nuts.

6. Install fan nozzles (without fasteners) and lead the branch pipes to them.
