How often a car enthusiast cannot even go on a trip in his car, if suddenly the washing of the driver's view stops working. And it would be okay to run out of liquid, or the channels are simply clogged. Worse, when the "squirt" itself is out of order.

Here we need to replace the washer nozzles windshield... Fortunately, these sprinklers can be purchased very inexpensively. But why do they become unusable? There are several reasons for this, we list them below:

  • constant blockages lead to irreparable adhesion of dirt in the holes;
  • temperature changes and constant humidity, due to which the holes are filled with rust;
  • freezing of water can lead to cracking.

How to fix watering on a VAZ

Suppose a breakdown occurred on a VAZ car. Let's talk first about the "tenth" family. To replace the washer nozzles at the VAZ 2110, the following tools will come in handy:

  • wrenches;
  • screwdrivers.

Begin.

  1. First of all, we dismantle the air intake grille.
  2. Further, by unscrewing the fasteners, remove the decorative overlay.
  3. Having unscrewed the screws securing the defective elements, we dismantle the latter.
  4. We take out the ends of the tubes from the dismantled elements.
  5. We install new parts and assemble them in reverse order.

If the sprayers broke down on the "twelfth" model, then we replace the defective windshield washers at the VAZ 2112 using exactly the same technology.

However, it happens that the pump of the washer fluid spray system has broken down (due to the fact that, say, in sub-zero weather, a system filled with water was turned on). Then, to replace the "dead" windshield washer motor, you will have to remove the battery, remove the system reservoir, disconnect the wires and reinstall the unit.

Now let's talk about the Samara family. To replace the nozzles from the VAZ 2114, we will take some tool, namely pliers.

Everything is much simpler here. Let's get started.

  1. Opening the hood, we find our broken parts.
  2. We pull out the hoses from them.
  3. Gently squeezing the clamps from below with pliers, pull out the defective nodes.
  4. We install the new ones in the reverse order.

And here is how Kalina's replacement goes. Only a screwdriver is taken from the tool. Start by opening the hood.

  1. Pull out the bonnet trim clips using the tool.
  2. Remove the trim.
  3. Remove the tubes from the broken jets.
  4. They take out the faulty elements and install new ones. Then everything is going on the way back.



Now for the Priora. To replace the washer nozzles from Priora, we take the following accessories:

  • flat screwdriver;
  • a piece of cloth.

  1. Having placed a quadruple piece of fabric, we pry the defective element with the tool and pull it out of the hood hole.
  2. We remove the branch pipe from it.
  3. Install the new part in reverse order.

What to do with foreign cars

To replace the windshield nozzles from Renault Logan, we need pliers.

We act like this.

  1. Opening the hood, we find the defective element.
  2. We remove the flexible tube from it.
  3. Gently squeeze the clamps with pliers and pull the spray arm out.
  4. The installation of a new spare part is done in the reverse order.

The situation is somewhat different with the Korean foreign car. To replace the glass washer nozzle at the Kia Sid, you must use - a flat screwdriver. What are we doing.

  1. Gently insert the tip of the tool from the side of the front seats of the car under the jet. Then we press the latch.
  2. We take out the broken part to ourselves.
  3. Disconnect the flexible tube from the dismantled element.
  4. We install the new sprayer, moving backwards point by point.

More precisely, you need to take two screwdrivers. Pry one of the nozzles from the side of the window, and the second from the side of the inside of the hood.

Fans are considered more modern, relevant and effective. Although on this score one can argue indefinitely. I do not plan to do this yet.

I'd better tell you about the features of fan injectors, give recommendations on the choice, and also make some clarifications regarding the very topical issue of adjustment.

We have already discussed with you for car windshields. But this time I would like to dwell in more detail on the fan-shaped devices.

If you have noticed, then recently, many modern cars are equipped with new, useful and simply interesting solutions. Even in basic trim levels inexpensive cars you can find heated seats, heated rear window, a number of other devices and solutions.

Among them, it is worth highlighting the fan nozzles on the wiper. Increasingly, they are the ones that automakers put on cars.

A distinctive feature of the fan is the way of water supply. If conventional jet devices deliver 2-3 separate jets through special nozzles, then a continuous front of water droplets is created here. This makes it possible to cover most of the windshield at the same time. Outwardly, it looks like an open fan. Hence the corresponding name.

And then many people think whether it is worth buying a Renault Logan or Megan, VAZ 2114, Hyundai Solaris, Renault Duster, Kia Rio or any other car for a similar solution. Not everyone understands whether they will be useful, and how the washer behavior will change after changing the nozzles.


But let's be frank. There are fans on cars Toyota, Nissan, Volvo and many other modern foreign cars from the factory. Therefore, there are objective reasons for this. They are obviously better than conventional spray guns. But even if you have Priora, Kalina or Chevrolet Niva, no one will forbid changing the nozzles. In addition, there is no need to make other serious modifications to the wiper system.

Advantages and disadvantages

There are two main points to the negative side of fan nozzles.

First, because of design features such devices often freeze at low temperatures. Therefore, residents of regions with harsh winters are better off choosing nozzles with a heating system right away.

Secondly, due to the processing of a large area of ​​the windshield, sometimes the driver loses control over what is happening in front. That is, the liquid covers the entire glass. Until the brush passes over it, the visibility is reduced.

The disadvantages are conditional, but they are worth paying attention to.


When a driver decides to buy something for a car, the following problem arises. How is it better to choose and not be mistaken with the decision. This can be attributed to both fan nozzles and ... But if you read our material, you will not make mistakes.

There are two main approaches to selection:

  • buy original;
  • take universal.


But not all cars can be equipped with or purchased original injectors. Therefore, you have to look for an alternative solution. There are no fans that fit literally all cars. Be sure to take this into account, otherwise no adjustment will help you.

Look for the options that are right for your car. I strongly do not recommend using cheap devices. It's just like picking wrong ... They will stand on the car, but they will not be able to effectively perform their functions.


Installation

If you had jet nozzles on your car, then you will need to take:

  • set of fans;
  • check valve;
  • hoses;
  • tee.

A check valve is needed to create a stable pressure in the system and to protect against the washer from flowing back into the tank after the pump is turned off. Due to the valve, after turning on the washer, liquid immediately begins to flow through the fan nozzles onto the glass.

Only one valve is used. It is mounted in front of the tee. If you put a valve in front of each of the nozzles, you simply reduce the pressure with your own hands, which will reduce the flow of the jet.


Do not discard old inkjet devices after installation. You can put them inside a separate pocket in ... It is possible that it will come in handy sometime. Or you may not like how the fan system works.

The sequential installation looks like this:

  • the hood is understood and the trim is removed;
  • the feed pipes are dismantled from the old nozzles;
  • old sprayers are removed (the clamps are unclenched, the nozzles are pushed up);
  • a check valve is connected (on some cars it is already there, so you won't have to install it);
  • new fans are being mounted;
  • supply hoses are connected to the nozzles.

Everything, the work is completed. You don't need to have any special skills. If you've done the installation or changing the oil, then there will be no problems with this task.

How to remove a rear window washer nozzle?

The rear nozzle should be removed only in case of replacement, because the clips will be broken when removed.

  • Serrated nozzles... A feature of this design is the presence of many nozzles (at least 3). It is also worth noting that the liquid in this case passes through a narrower channel, due to which the liquid is sprayed with greater pressure.

The first type is more often found on "middle-aged" cars, as well as on domestic cars, for example, the windshield washer nozzles of the VAZ 2110 have a jet configuration. Fan nozzles are already being installed on foreign cars and cars produced in recent years.

Washer nozzles, developed using modern technologies, are distinguished not only by ease of use, but also by ease of installation. However, these elements also have their drawbacks.

Advantages and disadvantages of fan washer nozzles

Thanks to the successful design of the fan nozzles, not a narrow stream, as in the case of jet models, falls on the glass, but a wide, finely dispersed stream that covers almost the entire "windshield". Other advantages include the following:

  • Thanks to good atomization, dirt dissolves more efficiently, resulting in fluid savings.
  • If, in the case of jet nozzles, the wipers start working a little earlier than the liquid hits the glass, then the fan models are connected simultaneously with the wiper. This protects the glass from scratches.

If we talk about the shortcomings, then motorists highlighted the following nuances:

  • Fan-type jets quickly become covered with ice at subzero temperatures. To avoid such troubles, you have to buy an additional heating system for the washers.
  • Since a large amount of liquid enters the glass at once, visibility is reduced for a few seconds until the wipers start working.

As you can see, such a system also has drawbacks, but all of them can be solved. The main thing is to choose the right jets for your car.

How to choose washer nozzles

It is best to choose jets specifically for your vehicle. If we compare the fan nozzles of the VAZ 2114 windshield washer and similar parts for a foreign car, they will be different. Of course, these differences are not critical and you can always adjust the part for your car brand, but in this case the installation will be much more difficult.

Alternatively, you can purchase universal products that fit different machines. Injectors with numbers 30655605 and 7845009010 are considered such elements. They are presented in the catalogs of Volvo and Sang Yong. Both jets are absolutely identical with one difference - the Korean part will cost almost half as much as the Swedish counterpart. Otherwise, both products can be used as windshield washer nozzles for Ford, Mazda, Subaru, Daewoo and other models.

One more Alternative option is offered by the Toyota concern, but when buying jets under catalog number 85381-AA042 from this manufacturer, it should be borne in mind that they are sold in 1 piece. Therefore, when placing an order via the Internet, you must add two items to the basket. After purchasing the products, you can install them yourself.

How to replace the washer nozzles

The process for replacing injectors is the same for all vehicles. Before starting work, it is necessary to prepare new hoses through which the "wash" will pass. For these purposes, a tube that is used for aquariums works well.

After that, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Remove the upholstery and carefully pull out the plastic caps.
  2. Remove the buffer foam pads. They usually stick to tape, so you need to prepare some fresh duct tape to reinstall them.
  3. Detach the plastic covers.
  4. Remove hoses through which fluid is supplied.
  5. Remove the old injectors.
  6. Connect the pipe to the new jets.
  7. Connect the non-return valve to the nozzles and pipes.
  8. Check system operation.

When replacing standard injectors, you also need to purchase a check valve that will not allow the liquid to "roll back", due to which the wipers often start working long before the cleaning compound appears on the glass.

Sometimes the new washer nozzles do not work as expected (the liquid pours too high or vice versa low, offset to the side, and so on), in which case additional adjustment of parts may be required.

How to adjust the washer jets

No specialized equipment or special skills are required to adjust the injectors. All you need is a regular needle or safety pin. In order to figure out how to adjust the windshield washer nozzles, it is enough to understand that they have a spherical shape and rotate freely inside the plastic case. Therefore, simply:

  • Feel free to insert the pin into the nozzle and start turning it in the direction you need.
  • If the liquid hits the glass too low, then twist the pin up.
  • If the jet hits very hard, it can also be corrected with a needle.
  • On foreign cars, the injectors have 3 jets, which are better to be adjusted differently. The extreme ones should be at the lowest points, as they hit the sides of the car. It is better to direct the middle ones to the central part of the windshield, and the remaining central jets are better directed to the upper part of the glass.

You can also independently clean the washer jets with your own hands.

How to clean the washer nozzles

If the jets began to work incorrectly, then most often the problem can be solved by cleaning these elements from contamination. Before cleaning the windshield washer nozzles, prepare:

  • safety pin or sewing needle;
  • compressor;
  • large volume syringe;
  • soap and water.

Before starting work, it is recommended to check the level of the cleaning liquid in the tank, as the jets may not work due to the missing "washer". After that, you need to disconnect the washer nozzles from the hoses and slightly press on them until they rise.

  1. Wash each nozzle in a soapy solution.
  2. Connect the compressor, turn on the blowdown and apply high pressure to the jet.
  3. If you do not have a compressor at hand, you can use a syringe into which you need to draw water.
  4. Clean the holes with a regular needle or pin.
  5. Insert the syringe into the nozzle and start flushing.

Of course, the compressor will be much more effective, but if the nozzles are heavily clogged and do not allow liquid to enter, then with the help of improvised means you can at least temporarily solve the problem.

Another way is to leave the jets in soapy water overnight and try reusing the syringe or compressor in the morning. This will be useful in the case of particularly stubborn old dirt.

In custody

When installing universal headlight washer nozzles or windshield nozzles, try to adjust them so that they spray liquid onto the glass surface without going beyond its limits. When choosing fan jets, try to give preference to those models that were designed specifically for your car, this will save yourself time on assembling the elements.

On cars of the VAZ 2108/2109/21099 model, as well as VAZ 21013/2114/2115 in standard configuration installed conventional wiper nozzles with one channel. Their problem is that they have low efficiency, that is, the liquid is sprayed with one jet and does not spread well over the glass surface. This problem has already been solved on cars of the tenth series and above. Here, nozzles with several channels are installed, that is, fan-shaped. This allows the liquid to be sprayed on the glass more efficiently, which allows faster and better cleaning of the glass.

According to the author, this problem can be solved literally in 15 minutes, it is enough just to have nozzles and have minimal technical skills.

Materials and tools:
- two nozzles (fan);
- two self-tapping screws (for attaching injectors);
- screwdriver with bit and drill.


Installation process of injectors:

Step one. Removing the standard injectors from the car

In the photo you can see what the factory glass cleaner nozzles look like. They must be removed; for this, the hoses must be carefully disconnected from the nozzles. As for the hoses, they need to be pulled out.





Step two. Installing new injectors
The author installs the fan injectors on the windshield deflector. To do this, a hole must be drilled in the deflector. Next, the nozzle is attached to an ordinary self-tapping screw. In total, two nozzles are used, in order to understand where to install them, the windshield must be divided into two parts, and then each part must be divided in half again.




Step three. Connecting and checking injectors
Now it remains to connect the injectors and check. To do this, the fluid supply hoses must be connected to the nozzles. That's all, after that you can go to the salon and check how the injectors work.


If it happens that the liquid splashes at the wrong angle, this can be easily adjusted by placing the required number of washers under the nozzles.
