The design of gearboxes does not provide for changing the oil (working fluid) during the entire service life of the vehicle.

However, sometimes the need to change the oil (working fluid) may arise, for example, when switching to oil of a different viscosity, when repairing a gearbox, etc.).

USEFUL ADVICE: It is recommended to drain the oil (liquid) within 15 minutes after the trip, until it has cooled down and has good fluidity.

Oil in mechanical box gear mod. iB5 drain as follows.

You will need: socket heads “8”, “19”, hex key “8”, syringe, wide container for draining the oil.

NOTE: Fill the transmission with the oil recommended by the manufacturer to Ford specifications. If it is not available, Castrol or Mobil gear oils of API GL-4/5 SAE 80W-90 quality class can be used as a substitute.

2. Remove the gear shift housing cover ().

3. We recommend removing the gearshift housing, since the oil drained from the gearbox will spread inside the housing and then, pouring out of it, contaminate the working area. To do this, unscrew the three bolts securing the casing and remove it.

NOTE: If there is a device for collecting leaking oil (for example, a shaped funnel), the gear shift housing does not need to be removed.

4. Remove the oil drain plug...

5….previously place a container under the hole and drain the oil into it. Wait for the oil to drain completely (at least 15 minutes) and tighten the plug.

NOTE: There is a magnet installed on the oil drain plug (shown in the photo with an arrow).

Inspect it and clean it of adhering metal particles and dirt. The presence of a large number of metal particles on the magnet indirectly indicates some kind of gearbox malfunction.

In this case, check and, if necessary, repair the box.

6. Wipe off any oil spills with a rag and install the gear shift housing (if it was removed).

7. Remove the oil filler plug...

8….and fill the gearbox with oil up to the lower edge of the oil filler hole (oil will begin to flow out of the hole).

9. Remove oil stains with a rag and tighten the oil filler plug.

10. Install the gear shift housing cover, mudguard and engine crankcase protection.

Oil in manual gearboxes mod. MTX-75, MMT6 and MT-66 replace as follows.

NOTE: Fill the transmission with the oil recommended by the manufacturer to Ford specifications. If it is not available, you can use Castrol or Mobil gear oil of quality class API GL-4/ 5 SAE 75W-80 as a substitute.

NOTE: If the vehicle is operated for a long time at ambient temperatures below -30 °C, we recommend replacing the oil filled at the factory. transmission oil SAE 75W.

1. Remove the mudguard and engine crankcase protection, if equipped ().

2. Unscrew the oil drain plug A, after placing a container under the hole, and drain the oil into it. Wait for the oil to drain completely (at least 15 minutes) and tighten the plug.

Ford Mondeo - oil change

The design features of the Ford Mondeo 4 gearbox do not require an oil change procedure throughout the entire operational life of the vehicle. Sometimes this need may arise if a switch to a more viscous working fluid is required or a manual transmission has been repaired.

How to change manual transmission oil

Before changing the oil in a Ford Mondeo gearbox, you need to purchase lubricants that meet the automaker’s recommendations, as well as equip yourself with 8 and 19 socket sockets, a 8 hexagon, a syringe and a large container for draining the liquid.

Changing the oil in Powershift begins with dismantling the mudguard, crankcase protective element and gearbox cover. Before removing the oil drain plug, place a container under it and begin draining the liquid. It is better to wait about 20 minutes for all the lubricant to pour out, and then replace the plug.

We wipe off all the stains with a rag and install the casing that covers the manual gearbox. We go to the oil filling compartment, remove the plug and pour new lubricant to the level of the lower edge of the hole. We wipe off the drips again and install the plug. We reassemble in reverse order. We check that the Powershift gearbox is working properly.

As for the traditional manual transmission, here the Ford Mondeo oil change is performed according to a different scheme: We remove the mudguard and the engine crankcase protective panel.

  • We unscrew plug A of the oil filler compartment, placing a previously prepared container under it, wait until the lubricant is completely drained and close the hole.
  • Unscrew plug-B, pour new fluid into Ford car Mondeo 5 up to the bottom edge of the hole.
  • Remove grease stains with a rag and screw on the compartment lid.

How to change the oil in a Ford Mondeo automatic transmission

Changing the automatic transmission oil for a Ford Mondeo is carried out using a fluid recommended by the vehicle manufacturer. Once the oil has been purchased, you can start changing it.

To do this, remove the mudguard and crankcase protective part power unit, place a container under the drain hole and unscrew the drain plug. Then you need to wait about 20 minutes until the automatic transmission is completely cleaned of old lubricant, after which you can close the hole with a plug. Next stage– dismantling air filter, unscrewing the oil filler cap and pouring new oil.

When the installation of all elements is completed, you can start the engine and begin warming up the lubricant. The proper operation of automatic and manual transmissions is checked as follows: with the engine running, you need to remove the level and check it. The oil level should be up to the special mark on the dipstick.

With the help of such simple manipulations you can replace it yourself transmission fluid and save money. If you want to change the engine oil, it is better to contact a specialist. Qualified craftsmen in station conditions Maintenance They will give advice on purchasing engine lubricant, after which they will quickly and efficiently replace it.

Engine oil must be replaced every 10,000 km.
For a new car, it is necessary to change the oil after the break-in period (after 2500 km). When changing the oil, be sure to install a new one oil filter(ZMZ-4062 engine) or its filter element (all engines). Oil change procedure see subsections 2.3.2, 2.3.2.2 And 2.3.3.3 .

Into the engine crankcase It is recommended to fill in the same brand of oil as was in the engine. If you fill in oil of a different brand, you must first flush the engine lubrication system with oil of the same brand that will be poured into the engine. To do this, drain the old oil and fill in new oil 2–4 mm above the “0” mark on the oil level indicator (dipstick). Start the engine and let it run for Idling

approximately 10 min. Then drain the oil, replace the oil filter or its filter element and add fresh oil. Coolant must be changed once every 2 years or after 60,000 km (whichever comes first). Procedure for replacing coolant see subsection 2.4.4

. It should be borne in mind that the coolant is poisonous, so you should not suck it into your mouth when pouring it. When working with coolant, it is recommended to use safety glasses and not to smoke or eat. If the liquid gets on exposed skin, wash it with soap and water. Gearbox oil must be replaced after 60,000 km. Oil change procedure 3.4.2 see subsections 3.3.2

And . Every 20,000 km, you need to check the oil level in the gearbox and top up if necessary. The oil level in the crankcase should reach the edge of the filler hole. If the drained oil contains metal particles or is very dirty, the box should be washed. must be changed after 60,000 km.

The oil is changed in the same way as in a gearbox. After 20,000 km, you need to check the oil level in the crankcase and top up if necessary. The oil level should reach the edge of the filler hole. When checking the oil level, you need to clean the breather from dirt in the same way as you did for the gearbox.

It's time to change the oil in the Ford Mondeo gearbox. Looking ahead, I’ll say that I really liked Valvoline, but was disappointed in Liquid Moth... In principle, everything is simple, especially if you don’t have engine protection. The only thing you need is a syringe for oil filling in a box or device like the one I built.

Progress of work on changing the oil in the MTX-75 gearbox with VALVOLINE MAX LIVE 75W-90 in a Ford Mondeo

drain plug. Internal hexagon.

drain plug

Device

Drain the oil through the drain plug while it is hot. It is advisable to raise your left side so that more oil merged. Afterwards, screw on the drain plug and unscrew the filler plug. By the way? they are the same. We fill the oil, in my case, through the device. We place the bottle in the engine compartment upside down, while inserting the hose into the filler neck and then press on the bottle so that the oil drains faster. Periodically turn the bottle over so that the drained oil is compensated for by air. It took me a little over two liters of oil.

That's all! The effect after replacement is positive.

Ford Mondeo | Changing the gearbox oil

8.1.2. Changing the gearbox oil

GENERAL INFORMATION
Draining the oil from the gearbox will be faster and more efficient if this operation is performed after the engine has warmed up to operating temperature and a test drive has been carried out to warm up the gearbox.
EXECUTION ORDER
1. Raise the car on a lift or place it above the inspection hole.
2. On vehicles equipped with a BE3 gearbox, remove the left front wheel, unscrew the screws and remove the wheel arch protection from under the fender to access the oil fill plug. On all models, remove the mudguard from under the engine.
3. Wipe the area around the oil fill plug. On the BE3 gearbox, the oil fill plug is the largest bolt among the bolts securing the end cover to the gearbox.
On the ML5T transmission, the oil fill plug is located on the rear of the differential housing. Unscrew the oil fill plug from the gearbox.
4. Place a suitable container under the oil drain plug located at the rear of the transmission and unscrew the plug.
5. Completely drain the gearbox oil. Clean the oil filler plug and oil drain plug from metal particles and replace the sealing washers.
6. Screw in the oil drain plug and tighten it to the required torque.

7. Fill the gearbox with oil to the level of the lower edge of the oil filler hole.

Warning
To properly fill the gearbox, the vehicle must be in a horizontal position.

automn.ru

8. Screw in the oil filler plug, install the wheel and drive for a short time. Recheck the oil level.

  1. 9. If necessary, adjust the oil level, install a new sealing washer on the plug, screw the plug into place and tighten to the required torque. Install wheel arch protection and engine mudguard.
  2. Replacing the gearbox seal requires draining the oil, so before replacing the Ford Mondeo 4 gearbox seal, you need to warm up the engine to operating temperature so that the oil becomes more liquid. Then everything is the same as when changing transmission oil...
  3. You drive the car into the inspection hole and put the handbrake on.
  4. It is advisable to install chocks or wheel chocks under the wheels.
  5. Since we will be changing the left gearbox drive seal, we need to remove the left wheel.
  6. Jack up and lift the left side of the car and remove the wheel.

Next, remove the crankcase protection, if any.

Use a hexagon to unscrew the drain plug; it is located on the right side of the box housing, having previously installed a 5 liter container under the drain hole.

8. While the oil is draining, treat the left wheel ball pin and tie rod pin with WD-40.

9. Now try to unscrew the ball joint nut, and then the tie rod end. 10. Using a VAZ puller, press the tie rod end out of the steering knuckle. 11. When

12. After partially pressing out the ball joint pin, do not rush to immediately remove it from it rounded fist, before doing this, using a socket on “13”, unscrew the bolt securing the drive in the hub.

  1. Oil glass. Now, using a wooden drift, you need to knock the drive out from the hub inwards as much as possible.
  2. When the drive comes out of the hub, place a pry bar over the lever, resting it on the subframe, lower the lever down. This will remove the steering knuckle from the ball joint.
  3. Now that the fist is removed, move the stance to the side closer to front bumper. Hold the drive so that it does not jump out of the inner CV joint.
  4. Take the drift again and hammer the drive in again, then turning the wheel to the right, remove the drive from the hub and place it on the lever.
  5. Go down into the hole, install a pry bar between the outer race of the inner CV joint and the wall of the box and try to push it out of the box like a lever. There should be two clicks, first the retaining ring will pop out, then the entire shank will pop out of the splines.

18. Now you have to tinker, picking out the oil seal is not so easy. Personally, I had problems with this, so I had to get it out piece by piece.

19. After removing the old oil seal, lubricate the new oil seal Ford boxes Mondeo 4 with gear oil and install in the hole. In order for it to fall into place, I had to use a guide.

Further assembly is carried out in reverse order. That's actually all about replacing the Ford Mondeo 4 gearbox seal with your own hands. It’s not that difficult, and without rushing through “smoking breaks,” anyone can do this work. I wish you good luck in your work!
