The small-class bus PAZ-32054 is one of thirty modifications of the basic model of the most popular bus in Russia in the 90s and 2000s PAZ-3205. Modest worker

In December 1989, at the Pavlovsk plant named after I. (Nizhny Novgorod Region, Pavlov), the legendary PAZ-3205 small-class suburban and city bus was put into production during its lifetime. In total, more than 30 modifications of this model have been developed, ten of which are mass-produced. One of them is the PAZ-32054 bus.

Despite its modest appearance, the nimble "groove" has proven its usefulness both on city streets crowded with cars, and on suburban routes with a small passenger traffic, and as a special transport in organizations, enterprises, educational institutions of various profiles. And two automatic doors PAZ-32054 are much more convenient than one.

A bit of history

25 years ago, no one imagined that the PAZ-3205 who had just got on the conveyor belt was destined not only for a bright life, but also the opportunity to break the longevity record of its predecessor - PAZ-672. The bus was not the result of a planned update lineup... On the contrary, it was the result of the refusal to produce the more advanced PAZ-3203 model, for which the related organizations could not supply components. The plant designers found a compromise solution - united new body with the old chassis, of course, having carried out all possible modifications on the latter.

The first prototype PAZ-3205 was assembled in the summer of 1979, only a decade later it entered the series. Despite a significant percentage of unification and external similarity with buses of the 3203 series, 3205 differed in the layout of the cabin and had a number of structural differences in the body. A year later, the plant workers presented the predecessor of the modern PAZ-32054 - a two-door modification of the PAZ-32051.

Design features

The base chassis has become common to the entire numerous family of new "grooves". One of the significant features is the original pneumohydraulic, which made it possible to eradicate one of the main troubles of the PAZ-672 - the insufficient efficiency of the working brakes with a hydraulic-vacuum drive. The steering-left mechanism has also changed - the use of the "screw-ball nut" type with a built-in hydraulic booster (from MAZ-5336) made it possible to reduce the number of flexible hoses by 60%, increasing the reliability of the unit.

The suspension was not ignored either: the narrowing of the spring track made it possible to reduce the turning radius, and the elongated front springs, together with the installation of correction springs, increased the smoothness of the ride. The body design of most versions was of the same type. This also applies to PAZ-32054, the photo of which, if you close your eyes to the additional door, is like two drops of water similar to the PAZ-3205 pictures. In 2013, after a slight restyling, the design of the headlights changed - they became rectangular.

This modification is significantly improved in comparison with base model... The body has got two doors in the middle and at the end of the cabin. Unlike standard single-door options, this innovation greatly facilitated the boarding and disembarkation of passengers and increased the safety of the vehicle: in the event of an accident or technical breakdowns, people can more quickly evacuate from the passenger compartment. Due to the appearance of additional doors, the location of the seats has changed, and the number seating decreased slightly.

Power point

Initially, it was decided to install two options under the hood power units- gasoline and diesel. If gasoline (produced by ZMZ and MMZ) proved to be excellent, then unforeseen problems arose with diesel engines. As diesel units the domestic GAZ-542 and the Japanese Hino W04CT were considered. The first diesel "grooves" were tested in 1987, but due to the complexity of the layout, the "gas" engine left the race almost immediately, and the expensive Japanese diesel was put into PAZ-32054 only on order from the beginning 90s.

The direction of driving was also developed. In 1987, the technical assignment and technical documentation were prepared for a bus with propane gas equipment, the prototypes of which were built in 1987-1989. Finishing work on these machines was carried out jointly with the designers of the PAZ, GAZ and ZMZ plants.

Now PAZ-32054 ( specifications are given below) has two types of execution:

  • actual modification 32054 s gasoline engines produced by ZMZ;
  • 32054-07 with gasoline MMZ.

PAZ 32054- (two-door modification of the base model) is undergoing a phased modernization to improve the reliability, resource and consumer characteristics of the bus. Bus from diesel engine equipped with an engine brake in basic configuration... It is envisaged to re-equip the bus to run on both compressed (methane) and liquefied (propane-butane) gas. From the IV quarter of 2011, the bus will be equipped with engines that meet the EURO-4 environmental standards, including the YMZ-534.
