The resource and efficiency of the internal combustion engine directly depend on the qualitative composition of the lubricant. An oil suitable for the parameters of the motor creates a strong protective film on its internal elements and contributes to long-term operation. This article describes the characteristics of the recommended engine oil for Mitsubishi pajero.

Model of 1995 release.

Gasoline power units

According to the car manual for Mitsubishi Pajero (4G64, 6G72, 6G74 engines), the manufacturer recommends using motor oils that correspond to the SG class or higher in the API classification. The recommended lubricant viscosity is shown in diagram 1.

Scheme 1. The relationship between the viscosity of the car oil and the ambient temperature.

According to scheme 1, at extremely low temperatures, 5w-20 should be poured (from -10 0 С and less). For a temperature indicator less than +10 0 C, 5w-30 is poured, and 5w-40 or 5w-50 is poured if the temperature conditions are below +20 0 C. For 10w-30, the operating temperature range is limited (from -30 0 C to +40 0 WITH). All-season lubricants 10w-40 and 10w-50 are poured if the thermometer is above -30 0 C. At -15 0 C (and above), 15w-40 or 15w-50 greases are used. If outside the car the temperature is above -10 0 С, 20w-40 or 20w-50 are used.

Diesel engines

Scheme 2. Recommended viscosity of engine oil, taking into account temperature regime the region in which the car will be operated.

According to Scheme 2, SAE 30 is used for the summer with a limited temperature range from 0 0 C to +40 0 C. If the temperature is above -10 0 C, 20w-40 is poured, with a thermometer reading from -15 0 C and above, 15w-40 is poured. For motor fluid 10w-30 operating temperature range is limited (from -20 0 С to +40 0 С). SAE 5w-40 motor oils are used at an indicator less than +20 0 С, and 5w-30 or 5w-50 lubricants are used at temperature conditions less than +10 0 С.

Refueling volumes

The volume of engine oil, taking into account the filling capacity of the oil filter and oil cooler of the Mitsubishi Pajero, is:

  • 4.9 l for engines 4G64, 6G72, 6G74;
  • 6.7 l in the case of 4D56 car engines;
  • 7.8 L for 4M40 powertrains.

The total volume of the required car oil, excluding the lubrication in the oil filter (without replacing the filter) and the oil cooler, is:

  • 4.5 l for the 4G64 engine;
  • 4.3 L if power units 6G72 or 6G74;
  • 5.5 liters in the case of 4D56 and 4M40 engines.

Conclusion

In the instruction manual Mitsubishi car Pajero, the manufacturer indicates that the use of an unsuitable car oil in terms of parameters can harm the engine. It is also prohibited to use additional additives to car oil.

When operating the machine in harsh conditions engine oil quickly loses its original properties and requires more frequent replacement than indicated by the regulations. When choosing alternative car oils, take into account the presence of tolerances on the container with grease, and when handling motor oil, you must adhere to the safety measures described in the car manual.

For the first time, the Mitsubishi Pajero saw the light in 1976 as a "Beach" car based on the Mitsubishi Jeep. The model made a big statement by winning the Cross Country Race and the Dakar Rally for six years in a row. Truly legendary car having replaced 3 generations, the fourth is being produced and sold today.

Any engine, be it Japanese, German or French, needs maintenance. Of course, routine maintenance for Pajero is no exception. It must be performed once every 15,000 km, while complete replacement oil and filter.

Filling volumes and oil selection

According to the regulations, diesel cars must be serviced once every 10,000 km, gasoline - 15,000 km.

The original oil is "not a sentence", you can also use other companies, for example:

IDEMITSU Zepro EURO SPEC SN / CF 5W-40;

Mobil Super 3000 X1 DIESEL 5W-40 etc.

The amount of oil depends on the engine size:

  • 2.5 - 6.4 l;
  • 3.0 - 5 l;
  • 3.2 - 9.3 l;
  • 3.5 - 4.6 l;

We continue to service the Mitsubishi Pajero car, with a 3.2 liter diesel engine, produced in 2008, on which it will be necessary to change the oil in the engine, air, cabin and fuel filter.

We lift the car or drive into the inspection pit. Remove the crankcase protection. In front of the pallet there is a drain plug at 17, unscrew it and substitute a container for used oil under the bottom:

After all the oil has drained off, screw the plug back into place. The oil filter is on the right side, near the box. We unscrew it using a standard puller:

Be prepared for a certain amount of oil to pour out of it as well. Wipe off the planting oil. New oil filter we have PMC, its number is PBA-009, before installing we fill it with new oil, we have it original from Mitsubishi number in the catalog of a 4 liter canister MZ320757, a 1 liter canister MZ320756. Before installing the filter, grease its sealing gum, then tighten it by hand.

We lower the car and pour new oil into our diesel engine... We make a funnel from a plastic bottle:

After filling, we first check the level on the dipstick. In total, we filled in 9 liters of new oil. We start the car, let the engine run a little, then turn off and after 5 minutes look at the level again, add oil if necessary.

Moving on to air filter, it is located under the hood on the front left. We remove the connector with the wires, snap off the clips and raise its cover:

We take out the old filter and insert a new one, we have it from PMC, catalog number PAG-036. We put it in place and click the latches.

We change the cabin filter, for this we open the glove compartment, on the sides we press the latches that move out of the cordon. We see the white filter cover, which is screwed on top with self-tapping screws for a Phillips screwdriver, from below under a flat one:

Remove the cover along with the old one cabin filter, we take a new one from us from ZEKKERT, catalog number IF-3077K. The "K" at the end indicates to us that it is charcoal. We put it in place, the plastic flag marked in red should be on top:

Moving on to replacing the diesel fuel filter, disconnect the sensor connector located at the bottom of the filter. We put the basin down and unscrew the filter housing, for this we use special pliers, you can choose any other suitable tool.

We have a new fuel filter from PMC, its number in the catalog PCF-003, along with it comes a rubber ring, it is intended for the sensor, which is on the bottom of the filter, we immediately change it:

Remove the protective film, screw on the sensor. We twist new filter by hand, but firmly so that there is no air leak. We put on the sensor connector. There is a special swap frog on the filter body diesel fuel, we press on it intensively several times, until it stops pushing through. Trying to start the engine.
