Replacement coolant(antifreeze) in the car Daewoo lanos(Daewoo Lanos)

With the advent of the autumn-winter period, many motorists think: in what condition coolant (antifreeze or antifreeze) in their car, is it time for a replacement cooling liquids what to fill in the engine cooling system - antifreeze or antifreeze s and, of course, many motorists are concerned about the question, is it possible to replace the coolant with their own hands? You will find answers to all these questions in this article. It will describe the process replacing antifreeze in Daewoo car Lanos (Daewoo Lanos). To begin with, we decide on the type of cooling liquids... According to the manufacturer's instructions, in the car Daewoo lanos need to fill antifreeze (based on ethylene glycol) We follow the instructions and do not try to use antifreeze or, God forbid, water. Why not use antifreeze?

Please read the article Antifreeze or antifreeze - we do right choice and remove this issue from the agenda.

  1. According to the manufacturer's recommendation, the coolant should be changed after 4 years of vehicle operation or after 40,000 km. mileage.
  2. Low density cooling liquids(in our case, it is antifreeze). But for this you will have to acquire a special hydrometer.
  3. Unnatural color of antifreeze - discolored, dark or brown color - a clear sign of "disease" coolant.

How many liters of oil are poured into KAMAZ axles. It is different for each car. For example, for our car Lanos, the specified volume is 7 liters... Replacing the coolant in the Daewoo sense I recorded this video Replacing the coolant. But, based on personal experience, I can recommend buying 5 liters antifreeze, which is quite enough for you. I explain why exactly five liters... Due to the design features of the car engine Daewoo lanos, in which there is no drain plug on the block, it will not be possible to completely drain the antifreeze! For all the tricks that will be discussed below, coolant remains in the engine block. So, it makes no sense to take the full volume of antifreeze. Antifreeze brand I will not advise, since the choice in the markets and shops is very large and no one will insure you against buying a fake with a sticker of the recommended brand. If you have acquaintances or friends at the car market or autoshop, then you can consult with them. If not, please show the quality certificates of the goods sold.

By car Lanos 1.5 2006 made a replacement coolant, which has not been replaced 8.

After we have decided on the volume and brand of antifreeze, we check for the necessary tool for replacing antifreeze in a Daewoo Lanos car... You will need: pliers or a screwdriver (depending on the clamps installed on the hoses), a container for draining the old cooling liquids, a socket wrench for "10" (to remove the expansion tank - if it is dirty) and a jack (what you need it for, you will find out later), a watering can for a "neat" gulf of antifreeze is welcome.

1. Replacement is carried out only on a "cold" engine. We place the car on a flat surface. We find, in the lower left corner of the radiator, the drain plug (photo 1) and unscrew it (photo 2).

2. Substitute the container for draining liquids and unscrew the plug on the filler neck of the expansion tank (photo 3).

4. How much oil to fill in a total of 2 liters of oil in 8 to 2 liters write). But in. It has already been said above that on the engine block of the car Daewoo Lanos there is no drain plug and it will not work to drain all the liquid. The quality of the coolant is important for the proper operation of the engine. From the article you can learn how to drain and fill a new coolant in the Volkswagen Passat b5…. But, as they say, you can try to drain as much antifreeze as possible. To do this, use a jack to raise the rear or front right wheel of the vehicle. This will help to squeeze out a little more cooling liquids from the engine.

5. If the coolant is contaminated, then flush the engine cooling system with water. To do this: turn on the drain valve on the radiator and use a watering can to fill expansion tank, fill until water flows out of the removed hose of the throttle assembly. How many liters of oil are in a KAMAZ box with a divider. After, put on the hose, twist filler plug expansion tank and start the car engine. We give it a few minutes to work, we muffle and drain the water. We repeat the procedure until clean water flows from the cooling system. Often, the expansion tank itself can be heavily soiled. It can also be rinsed out. For Chevrolet Lanos, Video "Replacing the coolant in Daewoo sens... To do this, it must be removed, using pliers (we disconnect three pipes from the expansion barrel) and unscrew two nuts with a "10" socket wrench. We remove it and rinse it with water.

Antifreeze is necessary so that the car engine does not overheat and works correctly in any climatic conditions. Antifreeze is poured into the cooling system vehicle... Before that, of course, the old liquid should be drained. Each car model has its own volume of antifreeze, which must be poured inside.

How much antifreeze should be poured into the VAZ model

Each VAZ model has its own permissible limit for the volume of coolant. In no case should this limit be exceeded, otherwise the antifreeze will begin to splash out of the expansion tank, which can lead to overheating of the motor.

So, how much antifreeze you need to fill in the VAZ model:

  • 9.85 liters are poured into the VAZ 2107
  • 8.7 liters are poured into the VAZ 2109
  • 7.8 liters are poured into the VAZ 2114
  • 7.8 liters are poured into the VAZ 2110

For the VAZ 2109 model, antifreeze replacement is required after sixty thousand mileage, or every two years. Replacement is carried out only on a cold engine. Such a precaution is caused by safety measures, since hot antifreeze can cause severe burns to a person.

How is new coolant filled

This instruction for pouring antifreeze is intended for the VAZ 2109 model. But other VAZ models have a similar replacement scheme.

Instructors of the VAZ company prescribe the use of antifreeze of the AM and A40M brands for the 2109 models. In the event that it is impossible to use the inspection pit, as an option, the car owner can be advised to purchase special taps that are installed instead of the drain plugs. A hose is pounced on these taps, and the liquid is already circulating through it. This device greatly facilitates the process of replacing the coolant.

So, in order to make an antifreeze fill, you must perform the following actions:

    • First, you need to screw on the drain plug on the radiator. You also need to remove the plug from the cylinder block.
    • We untie the clamp of the antifreeze outlet hose and disconnect it from the throttle fitting
    • Then you need to hold this hose with your hand.
    • We pour new antifreeze into the tank. You need to fill in somewhere four to five liters.
    • We put the hose back on the fitting
    • Tighten the hose clamp
    • Again, you need to pour antifreeze into the expansion tank. You need to pour until the liquid reaches the maximum mark. In total, about seven to eight liters of antifreeze should be spent
    • Next, put the tank cap back in place.
    • Then return the ignition module
    • Start the car and warm up the engine to working condition.
    • Next, we turn off the engine and again we need to measure the level of antifreeze
    • If the coolant level does not reach the maximum mark, then it is necessary to fill in more antifreeze

When pouring antifreeze, several important points should be considered:

  • As already mentioned, all work should be carried out exclusively with a cooled engine.
  • When draining the coolant, there is a risk of moisture entering the generator. To prevent this from happening, the generator must be protected before draining.
  • Be sure to check the antifreeze level after the engine is running. If the fluids are less than the maximum mark, then over time the engine will start to overheat, which can accelerate the process of its wear.
  • It is not recommended to mix antifreeze and antifreeze. Liquids differ in composition, so the quality of their work when mixed will be significantly reduced

Check the level on a cold machine to pinpoint the problem. If the engine does not boil, but it gets hot enough, it can be very difficult to determine where it is flowing. And it is impossible to notice leaks due to high temperatures.

  1. The fluid level is normal, the color has not changed, but the car is boiling. In this case, an air lock may form. Please note that when heated, the level of antifreeze changes slightly. If you observe that antifreeze all the time goes somewhere, it is important to identify the problem, because an ordinary replacement will not solve the problem.

What to consider when replacing antifreeze

We have already mentioned that for a successful replacement of the cooler, at least 7 liters of antifreeze are needed.

For proper maintenance, adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. Pour in the same antifreeze that was previously (manufacturer, color, and so on). This is necessary in order to protect the machine from unpredictable influences after mixing various liquids.
  2. Carefully look at what you are buying - a ready-to-fill product or a concentrate. The second variety must first be bred according to the instructions.
  3. For a successful replacement, select a moment when the engine is cold. Start the internal combustion engine when all units are connected, the liquid is filled, and the tank lid is closed.

These simple tips will help you to replace the antifreeze on your car without incident.

Summing up, we note that in the article we considered not only the issue of the required amount of coolant for the VAZ-2110, but also a number of related points, the knowledge of which will help you to service your car in a timely manner. Put our recommendations into practice, and you will ensure a stable and smooth operation your car for a long enough period.

The amount of coolant in the engine cooling system depends on the volume of the engine itself, its power and is selected for each car brand individually. It should be noted that antifreeze is an essential condition for the normal operation of the engine. Before pouring antifreeze into the system, you need to pick it up, which we will talk about later.

Quality characteristics of antifreeze

First of all, it is necessary to choose a coolant for 10-15 degrees of freezing point of the region where the car is operated. Also must have anti-corrosion properties to ensure that all components of the vehicle's engine system are in good operating condition.

The antifreeze must be formulated with ethylene glycol and water to ensure maximum cooling efficiency with the engine running. If you choose 50% - pure antifreeze, and 50% - water, then such a liquid can be used under conditions at a temperature of -37 0 C. Also, pay attention to additives, if they are in the composition of the liquid.

Calculation of the amount of antifreeze

Antifreeze replacement is carried out by calculating the required amount of coolant per engine size. To calculate and buy the required volume of liquid, it is necessary to clarify two important points:

  • the make of the car and the volume of its engine;
  • brand and quality characteristics of the cooled liquid.

On average, the coolant volume varies from 3 to 7 liters. Note that the larger the volume and the more powerful the engine, the more cooled liquid is needed, so that the cooling process was efficient.

If you decide to make a replacement, then be sure to buy the coolant of the same brand.

To be more specific, and in order to know exactly how much antifreeze to pour into the system, you need to take into account the recommendations of the antifreeze manufacturer and approximately calculate the required volume for your car. It is necessary to fill in antifreeze according to the level, while ensuring that there is no air in the system and fill it at the "minimum" mark in the expansion tank.

It does not depend on the quality of the composition itself, but this indicator affects the duration of operation of the car itself and its serviceability. If you just bought a car and do not know which coolant to fill and how much, then you can visit our website where there are calculations and recommendations.

What does the cooling system depend on?

The volume of the cooling system generally depends on very important nuances:

  • on the volume of the engine jacket;
  • on the volume of the engine cooling jacket;
  • on the volume of the radiator;
  • from the volume of the radiator of the stove in the car.

It is necessary to take into account the volume of the connecting pipes (flexible rubber hoses) connecting the engine and radiator.

Can antifreeze be diluted with water?

Many car owners claim that antifreeze can be diluted with water to increase the volume of antifreeze and save money. There is important point, which many may not know. The bottom line is that antifreeze can be diluted with water, but at the same time its freezing point decreases, but antifreeze is strictly forbidden to dilute, because it is already a ready-made concentrate for pouring into the cooling system. If you dilute antifreeze with water, then it will completely lose its engine cooling properties.

How to add new antifreeze?

Before you fill in new antifreeze, you need to drain the antifreeze that is in the cooling system into an unnecessary container. Then flush the entire system with distilled water while the engine is running. But at the same time, antifreeze should be poured into the cooled engine. When buying a new antifreeze, you should take a volume with a small margin, taking into account the possibility of a leak in the system or evaporation. Many people recommend taking well-known proven brands of refrigerated liquid.

Important

When refueling the engine cooling system, you need to take into account the additional volume of cooled liquid for the cabin heater inside the car, which depends on the design and brand of the car (does not apply to cars equipped with an air conditioning system). The amount of coolant must be constantly monitored to ensure a long service life of the engine and to prevent premature repairs due to frequent overheating. Refueling to the required level must be carried out through the neck of the expansion tank.

Remarks, interesting explanations to the question "how much kg does a liter volume weigh" and some Additional Information to reference data on physical properties.

Quite often, in practice, we are faced with situations when we need to find out what is the weight of 1 liter of antifreeze. Usually, such information is used to convert the mass to other volumes, for those containers, the displacement of which is known in advance: cans (0.5, 1, 2, 3 l), bottles (250 mm, 0.5 ml, 0.75, 1, 1.5, 2, 5 l), glasses (200 ml, 250 ml), cans (5, 10, 15, 20, 25 l), flasks (0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 0.8, 1 l) buckets (3, 5, 7, 8, 10, 12, 15, 18, 20, 25, 30 l), flasks and cans (3, 5, 10, 22, 25, 30, 40, 45, 50, 51, 200 l), barrels (30, 50, 60, 65, 75, 127, 160, 200, 205, 227, 900 l), tanks, cylinders, tanks (0.8 m3, 25.2, 26, 28.9, 30.24, 32.68, 32.7, 38.5, 38.7, 40, 44.54, 44.8, 46 , 46.11, 46.86, 50, 54, 54.4, 54.07, 55.2, 61, 61.17, 62.39, 63.7, 65.2, 73, 73.1, 73.17, 75.5, 62.36, 88.6 m3, 99.2, 101.57, 140, 159, 161.5 m3). In principle, even pots and pots can be estimated by weight if you know how much one liter of antifreeze weighs. For domestic use and some independent work, the question may be asked differently when they ask not the weight of 1 liter of antifreeze, but how much a liter jar (jar) weighs. Usually you are interested in how many grams or kilograms are in a liter can. Finding such data: how much it weighs on the Internet is not as easy as it seems. The fact is that the generally accepted format for submitting material in any reference books, tables, technical specifications and GOST is reduced to bringing only the density and specific gravity of antifreeze.

How much liquid should be poured into the cooling system of the VAZ 2104 engine?

In this case, the indicated units of measurement are one m3, cubic meter, cubic meter or cubic meter. Less often 1 cm3. And we are interested in how much a liter volume weighs. Which leads to the need for additional conversion of cubic meters (m3) to liters. This is inconvenient, although it is possible to do the correct conversion of cubes into liters on your own. Using the ratio: 1 m3 = 1000 l. For the convenience of site visitors, we independently made recalculations and indicated how much one liter of antifreeze weighs in table 1. Knowing the weight of 1 liter of antifreeze, you not only determine the mass of a liter can, but you can easily calculate how much any other container weighs for which you know displacement. At the same time, you need to understand the undesirability and impossibility of accurate estimates made on the basis of such recalculations for large containers with a significant volume of displacement. The fact is that with such calculation methods, a large error arises, which is acceptable only in the sense of an approximate estimate of the mass. Therefore, professionals use special tables that indicate how much, for example, a truck or rail tanker, a barrel weighs. On the other hand, for applied and domestic purposes, for home conditions, the calculation method based on the liter volume is quite suitable and can be applied in practice. In those cases when we need more accurate data, for example: during laboratory research, for examination, for debugging a production process, setting up equipment, and so on. The weight of 1 liter of antifreeze is best determined experimentally, through weighing on precise scales, using a special method, and not using reference, theoretical, tabular average data on density and its specific gravity.

For diesel and gasoline engines the parameters will be - the same! When buying, you need to know the shade - Colour and Type of antifreeze, acceptable for the year of manufacture of your 2101. Select the manufacturer at your discretion. Do not forget - each type of fluid has its own service life.
For example For VAZ 2101 (1st generation) 1970 onwards, with any type of engine, the traditional class of antifreeze, type TL or antifreeze with shades of blue, is suitable. The approximate period of the next replacement of which will be 2 years. If possible, check the selected fluid to meet the vehicle manufacturer's specifications and service intervals.
It's important to know Each type of liquid has its own color. There are rare cases when a type is tinted with a different color.
The color of red antifreeze can be from purple to light pink (green and the same yellow principles).
Mix liquid from different manufacturers - can if their types match the mixing conditions.

Thermostat 17 with solid temperature-sensitive filler has a main 9 (see Fig. Thermostat) and an additional 2 valves. The main valve starts to open at a coolant temperature of 77–86 ° C, the main valve travel is at least 6 mm.

Radiator - vertical, tubular-plate, with two rows of tubes and tin-plated steel plates. Traffic jam 8 filler neck there are inlet and outlet valves.

Checking the level and density of the liquid in the cooling system

    1. The correctness of filling the cooling system is checked by the liquid level in the expansion tank, which on a cold engine (at 15–20 ° C) should be 3-4 cm above the "MIN" mark on the expansion tank.

    2. If necessary, check the density of the coolant with a hydrometer, which should be 1.078–1.085 g / cm 3 for Tosol A – 40 fluid.

    3. If the liquid level in the tank is below the norm, and the density is above the norm, then add distilled water. If the density is normal, add liquid of the same grade as the one in the cooling system.

    4. If the density of the fluid in the cooling system is below normal, add Tosol-A fluid.

Filling the cooling system with liquid

Refueling is done when changing the coolant or after repairing the engine.

    1. Remove the plugs from the radiator and expansion tank, open the heater tap.

    2. Pour coolant (9.85 L) into the radiator (fluid is poured until it comes out of the filler neck) and replace the radiator cap.

    3. Add the remaining liquid to the expansion tank and close it with the cap.

    4. Start the engine and let it run for Idling 1-2 minutes to remove air locks.

    5. After the engine has cooled down, check the coolant level. If the level is below normal, and there are no signs of leakage in the cooling system, then add fluid.

Belt tension is checked by deflection between the alternator and pump pulleys or between the pump and crankshaft pulleys. With normal belt tension, deflection A under a force of 98 N (10 kgf) should be within 10-15 mm, and deflection B - within 12-17 mm.

To increase the belt tension, loosen the generator mounting nuts, move it away from the engine and tighten the nuts.

    Coolant pump

    Disassembly

    1. Disconnect the pump casing from the cover 2 (see Fig. Longitudinal section of the coolant pump).

    2. Fasten the cover in a vise using spacers, and remove the impeller 2 from the roller with a stripper А.40026 (1 - stripper А.40026).

    3. Remove the hub 2 of the fan pulley from the roller using a puller А.40005 / 1/5 (1 - a cover of the pump casing, 3 - a puller А.40005 / 1/5).

    4. Unscrew the locking screw 9 (see Fig. Longitudinal section of the coolant pump) and take out the bearing with the pump shaft.

    1 - case; 2 - cover; 3 - nut for fastening the pump cover; 4 - fan; 5 - pulley hub; 6 - pad; 7 - roller; 8 - pulley; 9 - bearing locking screw; 10 - bearing; 11 - oil seal; 12 - impeller

    Control

    1. Check the axial bearing play. This operation must be done without fail if there is significant pump noise. The gap should not exceed 0.13 mm at a load of 49 N (5 kgf). If the clearance is large, replace the bearing.

    2. It is recommended to replace the pump oil seal and the gasket between the pump and the cylinder block during repairs.

    3. Inspect the pump housing and cover. Deformations or cracks on them are not allowed.

    Assembly

    1. Install the gland with a mandrel, without skewing, into the housing cover.

    2. Press the roller bearing into the cover so that the stop screw seat aligns with the hole in the pump housing cover.

    3. Tighten the bearing retaining screw and chalk the contours of the seat so that the screw does not loosen.

    4. Press on the pulley hub using the tool A.60430 (see Fig. Pressing the impeller onto the pump shaft with the tool A.60430), keeping the dimension 84.4 ± 0.1 mm.

Pressing the impeller onto the pump shaft using device A.60430

    1 - support; 2 - pump roller; 3 - pump casing cover; 4 - glass; 5 - set screw

    5. Press the impeller onto the roller using the tool A.60430, ensuring the gap between the impeller blades and the pump casing is 0.9–1.3 mm.

    6. Assemble the pump housing with the cover by placing a gasket between them.

    Thermostat

1 - inlet pipe (from the engine); 2 - bypass valve; 3 - spring of the bypass valve; 4 - glass; 5 - rubber insert; 6 - outlet branch pipe; 7 - spring of the main valve; 8 - main valve seat; 9 - main valve; 10 - holder; 11 - adjusting nut; 12 - piston; 13 - inlet pipe from the radiator; 14 - filler; 15 - clip; D - fluid inlet from the engine; Р - liquid inlet from the radiator; H - liquid outlet to the pump

At the thermostat, the temperature of the beginning of the opening of the main valve and the stroke of the main valve should be checked.

To do this, install the thermostat on the BS-106-000 stand by dropping it into a tank with water or coolant. Place the indicator leg bracket against the bottom of the main valve 9.

The initial temperature of the liquid in the tank should be 73–75 ° C. The temperature of the liquid should be gradually increased by about 1 ° C per minute with constant stirring so that it is the same throughout the volume of the liquid.

The temperature at which the valve starts to open is the one at which the stroke of the main valve is 0.1 mm.

The thermostat must be replaced if the opening temperature of the main valve is not within 81 + 5–4 ° С or the valve stroke is less than 6.0 mm.

The simplest thermostat check can be carried out by touch directly on the car.

    Antifreeze for VAZ 2101

After starting a cold engine with a working thermostat, the lower radiator tank should heat up when the arrow of the liquid temperature gauge is approximately 3-4 mm from the red zone of the scale, which corresponds to 80-85 ° C.

    Radiator

    Withdrawal

    1. Drain the liquid from the radiator and the cylinder block by removing the drain plugs in the lower radiator reservoir and on the cylinder block; At the same time, open the cock of the interior heater, and remove the radiator plug from the filler neck.

ATTENTION: In order not to damage the radiator, by unscrewing the drain plug of the lower tank, use the second key to support the plug fitting soldered into the radiator. Unscrew the plug with a socket or spanner wrench so as not to damage the edges of the plug.

    2. Disconnect the hoses from the radiator.

    3. Remove the bolts and remove the fan shroud.

    4. Remove the radiator from the engine compartment by unscrewing the bolts securing it to the body.

    Leak test

    1. The tightness of the radiator is checked in a bath with water. Having muffled the radiator pipes, supply air to it under a pressure of 0.1 MPa (1 kgf / cm 3) and lower it into a bath of water for at least 30 seconds. In this case, etching of air should not be observed.

    2. Solder minor damage with soft solder, and in case of significant damage, replace the heatsink with a new one.

    3. It is allowed to muffle (obligatory from both sides) no more than 1.5% of the radiator cooling pipes.

    4.5. Replacing the coolant

According to recommendations the manufacturer's coolant should be replaced after two years of operation or after 60 thousand kilometers, whichever comes first. In addition, if the coolant changes its color to reddish, replace it immediately, as such a change indicates that inhibiting additives have developed and the liquid has become aggressive towards the parts of the cooling system.

You will need: a key "13", coolant, a clean rag, a container for drained coolant with a capacity of at least 10 liters.

After a few days of car operation after changing the coolant, check its level. Add coolant if necessary.

If, after a very short time, the fresh antifreeze has changed color from blue to brown, then you have poured a fake into which the manufacturers "forgot" to add corrosion inhibitors.

    Service fluids

In addition, one of the signs of a fake is a sharp complete discoloration of antifreeze. The dye of high-quality antifreeze is very persistent and only darkens over time. Antifreeze tinted with linen blue is discolored. This "antifreeze" must be replaced faster.
