Replacement spark plug nissan note is one of the most important and necessary procedures to ensure smooth operation car engine. The internal combustion engine has a complex structure, in which even the smallest detail plays a significant role. So, for example, the transmission of a car is responsible for the interaction of the motor with the driving wheels, brake pads provide an emergency reduction in speed, the optics of the car serve to improve the driver's view at night or dark time days. What are spark plugs for? Despite the important purpose of candles, their role is often unknown even to experienced drivers. So why are they important and how do they affect the performance of the entire vehicle?

Spark plugs are a device that is used to ignite a fuel / air mixture in a car engine to keep it running continuously. There are 4 types of spark plugs: spark plugs, glow plugs, arc plugs and catalytic plugs. V gasoline engines spark plugs are used. The principle of their operation is based on the formation of a powerful electric charge that arises between the electrodes and ignites the combustible mixture at a certain moment of engine operation.

If at least one spark plug fails, the unused residues of the working mixture will be deposited in the vehicle's catalyst and will lead to a complete stop of the engine or to its ignition. Timely assistance to the car will allow you not only to significantly save on repairs, but also to get to know your "iron friend" better.

Replacing the nissan note spark plugs is done when the usual operation of the engine is disrupted. To determine the need to replace the device, it is recommended to visually inspect it. Since spark plugs are constantly exposed to thermal and mechanical stress, they appearance can determine the degree of their performance.

In order to produce self-replacement spark plugs on the car Nissan note, it is recommended to use the following guide.

1. Remove the engine cover, if installed.

2. Disconnect the battery

3. Loosen the clamps on the rubber hose that fits the air duct, then remove it

4. Disconnect the electrical connector that fits the air manifold

5. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose and remove the rubber inlet pipe

6. Disconnect the air intake clips located above the radiator

7. Remove the air intake

8. Remove the bolts securing the air manifold. Replacing nissan note spark plugs requires utmost care and caution, because many parts have a plastic case and can break if pressed unsuccessfully

9. Remove the device. Do not allow dust, bolts or other objects to enter the intake manifold openings

10. After unscrewing the bolts, completely remove the air manifold

11. When the manifold is completely removed, the spark plug coils will open in front of you. In order to remove the device, disconnect the high-voltage wires from the coils.

12. Having unscrewed the bolt, carefully remove the coil of the candle

13. Using candle wrench, unscrew the spark plug

15. For car nissan Note use IRIDIUM POWER candles

Table - Determination of the spark plug performance
Candle state Candle damage symptoms Remedies for damage
Normal No erosive damage. Heat cone color - light brown or light gray This condition indicates the correct operation of the system. Replacing the spark plug is not required, so it can be put back.
Carbonized electrode edges The spark plug insulator is of normal color, but the electrodes are charred. The electronic gap is increased to the limit. Candles in this state will make it difficult to start the engine in winter period years and will lead to an increase in fuel consumption. Need to replace spark plugs nissan note. The new device must have the same thermal performance.
Fuel mixture contamination Candles in this case have a specific smell and moist deposits of dark brown or black color. A car with these spark plugs is unstable, consumes a lot of fuel and misfires. You can temporarily save the situation by cleaning the spark plug electrodes in gasoline. However, the problem of soot formation on the electrodes can only be solved if the cause of the malfunction is found out.
Glow ignition The device insulator is bright white and the electrodes are melted. At the same time, premature ignition and frequent overheating of the engine are observed in the operation of the car. This plug is not suitable for the car in terms of thermal characteristics. A device replacement with the correct parameters is required.
Lead deposits The insulator and electrodes are covered with porous deposits with a pungent smell of hydrogen sulfide. This problem occurs with prolonged use of highly leaded gasoline. The plug can be cleaned and reinstalled if there is no damage to the electrodes. It is recommended to change the gas station.
Glazing Spark plug housing, high-gloss yellow The device cannot be restored, therefore, its further replacement is recommended. However, emphasis should be placed on the fact that the formation of this damage is created when the gas pedal is pressed sharply by avid racers. To avoid this problem, a smoother driving style is recommended.
Detonation The plug has obvious damage, expressed by cracks and destruction of the insulator. Such a plug can destroy the piston. When installing a new plug, carefully adjust the plug gap. Re-use of a spark plug with this damage is prohibited.

Inspection and replacement of nissan note spark plugs is carried out sequentially. This allows not only not to get tangled in the coils, but also provides correct installation devices.

When the condition of the candles is diagnosed and carried out necessary work, install the engine parts in reverse order, remembering to be careful and careful. Be careful and everything will work out!

To replace the spark plugs, the following set of tools is required:

Spark plug wrench 16 mm with rubber band inside (or with magnet)

10 mm head.

Open-end wrench 10 mm.

crosshead screwdriver

Pliers

Job.

First of all, we unscrew the 10 mm bolts that attach the cover to the engine with the NISSAN logo. There are 7 of them.

Using pliers, remove the hoses suitable for it (3 pcs) and the gas outlet hose, which is attached to a plastic clip on the back of the engine.

Using a screwdriver, unscrew the sensor located on top, and also remove the wires from the 3 sensors that are located on the cover.

Unfasten the air filter cover (2 spring latches)

Remove the cover with the NISSAN logo.

Another plastic cover (smaller) appears in front of us, using a 10mm wrench, unscrew the 4 mounting bolts.

We remove the CANDLES in front of us.

The candles on our miracle engine are powered by special pads (ignition coils for each spark plug), which in turn are attached to the engine with 10 mm bolts.

We unscrew the bolts. When I got to the ignition coils, I had to disconnect the wire only from the spark plug of the 2nd cylinder, because it was short. I got to the rest of the candles by unscrewing only the bolts.

Collected everything in reverse order without any problems.

You just need to be careful:

When connecting hoses to the rear of the engine. Do not forget to put the gas hose firmly in place;

When pushing the top cover back into place. It sits tightly in place and you need to carefully tighten the bolts so that there is no distortion;

When installing the air filter cover. First, you need to shove the guide protrusion into the groove on the cover from the bottom, and then gently snap it into place with spring latches;

one of the plastic caps in oil. At first I was scared that it was oil from the engine crankcase and wanted to wipe it off. But in fact, it was specially applied there so that the dust that got from nowhere settles on the cover and does not interfere with the normal operation of the engine. So there is no need to remove the oil.

In my Nissan note the (engine) light on the dashboard came on - check engine. Then I noticed that the car began to work a little intermittently, troit. I have not yet had time to go to the engine diagnostics ... I sin on the spark plugs. I didn't have time to check them either - I'll do it in the evening).

But since I had never changed the candles in foreign cars, I decided to first ask the Internet how and in what sequence to change them, so as not to break anything, as is often the case out of ignorance;).

Before that, I dealt with domestic cars - everything is simple there - everything is in sight, unscrewed - looked, if something went wrong - changed everything.

On the Internet, they write about replacing candles in the Nissan note, but somehow everything is not right. And by chance, following a link from some site, I came across the forum of the site http://nissan-note.info/forum/viewtopic.php?p=250730#250730 from where the printed instruction was actually taken.

My option for replacing the candles with NOTE 1.4. I apologize if I state the common truths and the obvious, but it may be useful to someone. The option of removing TWO plastic covers, as described earlier, did not work for me, because I could not unscrew the front bolts (it is marked "no need to unscrew" in the picture), it was tightened too tightly - the square nut was turning. As it turned out, you can do without it.
So let's start with the tool:

Tools required to replace NOTE 1.4 plugs. The swivel wrench did not fit in my case because of the too large outer diameter of approx. 24.5 mm. Because the seat of the candles is very deep and narrow, I had to buy a 16mm head / wrench. (special for spark plugs with internal rubber washer), outer diameter approx. 22.5 mm. Issue price 75 rubles.

Remove two clips (1), electrical connectors 3 pcs. (2), two rubber hoses (3), unscrew the six bolts (4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9), REMOVE one more rubber hose (10) from the clamp (I did not understand why it was needed). Gently, but with effort, we pull off the entire plastic casing upward along with air filter... That's it - access to the ignition coils is open.

Unscrew four more bolts (11) and take out the coils (12).

We change the candles and assemble in the reverse order as always. When installing the plastic casing, I recommend that you pay attention to the rubber sleeve (13), it can jam, so it is easier to pull it out of the valve cover and first put it on the appropriate place of the plastic casing.
So that is all! Good luck to all

PS: That's right, you can replace the spark plugs yourself))).
Later I'll tell you how things were with me .... maybe it's not in the candlelight ... the autopsy will show))))
