  • Find the holes in the spar that are hidden under the protective film. Using a Phillips screwdriver, squeeze them into the trunk, it's easiest to break through the film. Repeat the procedure on the opposite side.
  • Assemble the hitch, starting with the side plates to which the center cross member is attached. Do not overtighten the bolts when doing this.
  • Adjust the position of the ball. This element should only be located along the longitudinal axis of the machine.
  • Install the tow hook.
  • Install the socket provided for the socket.
  • Make sure that everything is installed evenly, after which you can safely tighten the bolts.

After that, you can return the muffler to its place. However, be sure to wipe the body kits to clean them of grease and other materials.

It remains only to connect the towbar socket.

Electrical connection

How to mount the device?

How to install correctly, step by step? For self-assembly of the element on Renault Logan, we install a car on a flyover. A pit is also perfect, and in its absence we hang out the rear axle using jacking devices. In the last variant, we resort to the obligatory use wheel chock.

  • screwdriver with a slotted profile;
  • keys with standard sizes: "8"; "17" and "19".

Before starting installation manipulations, it would be advisable to release luggage compartment from obscene things, which will significantly increase the convenience of the “operation”.

  1. We remove the muffler pipe from the rubber suspensions. For these purposes, we press the muffler body in the downward direction, then in the stretched suspension we find the hole that has appeared. We put a screwdriver into it, previously lubricated in grease, and remove the muffler, laying it later on the Renault Logan rear axle beam.

Important! After dismantling the muffler, we clean its mounting bracket and suspension with special care from traces of grease, since these elements must be dry during re-assembly!

  1. Next, we go inside the trunk of Renault Logan. On the inner surface of the "cheeks" we find plastic plugs that plug the technological holes on the surface of the spars. Using a screwdriver, we can easily dismantle these elements.
  2. We repeat a similar operation under the Renault Logan car. From the bottom of the holes are carefully masked with factory self-adhesive tape. After its breakthrough with a screwdriver, anti-corrosion treatment of the contours of the holes with a special tool (for example, mastic) will be useful.
  3. Now we hang on the bolts the previously indicated power plates, on which we fasten the power beam.
  4. We fully tighten all the bolts only after 100% assembly, this is exactly how the installation of the towbar should be. If the design is not self-manufacturing, but purchased, then we perform its installation in accordance with the algorithm indicated in the attached instructions.
  5. Wiring diagram is not complex, so its installation does not cause any difficulties. For error-free wiring, it will be enough to resort to disassembling the left headlight of the stern in order to study the features of switching. From the specified headlight, you can output cables for connecting lamps: dimensions, brakes and left turn.
  6. We connect the right turn indicator by connecting with the right headlight of the car.

Now you know how to install a hitch. If a towbar manufactured in an industrial enterprise is mounted on a Renault Logan car, it is recommended not to attach a socket to it for switching trailer electrical equipment. After all, the need for it arises only during towing. In all other cases, it is at risk of mechanical damage. A more optimal and safe measure would be to connect the outlet to onboard network via an extended cable section located in the luggage compartment. It is recommended to fix it in a regular place if necessary. You should not be afraid for the deformation of the wire with the luggage lid, because even when closed, there is plenty of space under it for pulling the cable.

Despite the fact that shops sell towbars for any car, making a towbar with your own hands is much easier, faster and cheaper than waiting for delivery, and then visiting a car repair shop to install it.
