It is based on an extended version of the D platform. The vehicle has a monocoque body, the front part of which is supported by an independent MacPherson-type suspension, and the rear part is supported by a multi-link. Under the hood, there can be either a 3.5-liter V-shaped petrol "six" with a return of 249 hp. (325 Nm), or hybrid power point with a total power of 250 hp (368 Nm). The hybrid is a tandem of a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with a mechanical supercharger (234 hp, 330 Nm) and an electric motor (15 kW, 160 Nm). This is the so-called mild hybrid with a parallel circuit - a configuration in which the internal combustion engine does most of the work, supplying torque directly to the drive wheels, and the electric motor is connected as needed (for example, when starting off or accelerating). A lithium-ion battery with a modest 0.63 kWh capacity is installed in the rear of the Nissan Pathfinder. The battery is recharged from an electric motor that acts as a generator when the vehicle is braking or decelerating.
Both available power unit work in conjunction with the Xtronic CVT variator. Four-wheel drive All-Mode 4 × 4-i is organized according to a simple scheme - constantly involved front axle, and the rear is connected using a multi-plate clutch installed in the rear wheel drive. There are three transmission modes: 2WD ( front-wheel drive), Auto (automatic distribution of forces) and Lock (forced locking of the clutch). Not too high ground clearance of 181 mm, coupled with a long wheelbase (2900 mm), seriously limit the off-road capabilities of the crossover, preventing any serious off-road by storm. Direct competitor - - with ground clearance 197 mm looks more preferable from this point of view.
Possessing impressive dimensions, the car is very heavy. Modification with a 3.5-liter V6 engine in curb weight 2077 kg. Hybrid Nissan Pathfinder R52 due battery almost 100 kg heavier - its weight is 2170 kg. But the trunk of any version of the crossover is impressive in its size. With the second and third row seats folded down, the cargo hold capacity is 2,260 liters.
According to the passport characteristics, the fuel consumption of the Nissan Pathfinder with a V6 engine in a mixed driving mode does not exceed 10.4 liters per 100 kilometers. The hybrid version of the crossover is 16% more economical - with the same driving pattern, it consumes about 8.7 liters. The best traction performance hybrid (+43 Nm of torque, the availability of peak torque from 3600 rpm versus 4400 rpm for a conventional motor) does not give it a gain in dynamics. The car with the "Hybrid" badge accelerates to 100 km / h in 8.7 seconds, the "fellow" with the classic engine - in 8.5 seconds.

Nissan Pathfinder is a mid-range SUV, one of the competitors Toyota Highlander, Mazda CX-9, Ford Explorer and other large SUV class models. The Pathfinder name was originally relevant for an SUV in the American market, and in developing countries, the model was known as the Terrano (in Russia, India, etc.).
The first generation SUV of the same name entered production in 1985. At the first stage of sales, only a three-door version was available, and in 1989 the first restyling of the model took place. As a result of the modernization, a version with a five-door body appeared. V basic configuration The "first" Nissan Pathfinder was equipped with a 103-horsepower 2.4-liter engine. There is also a 2.4-liter version for 140 forces, as well as a three-liter version of similar power. More economical versions - with diesel engines with a volume of 2.7 liters and a capacity of 85-113 liters. with.
Nissan pathfinder
The second generation Nissan Pathfinder was introduced in 1996. The car was first shown in Japan. The model received a modified body and more powerful engines, as well as additional options. The base version was available with a 2.7-liter 130-horsepower diesel engine, while the most powerful version received a 3.5-liter 253-horsepower unit.
In 2005, the presentation of the third generation Nissan Pathfinder. It was a completely new Pasfinder when compared to the two previous versions. The car received a new corporate style of Nissan with brutal and impressive forms. The Japanese retained the frame structure, and thus retained the geometric cross-country ability. The third generation car received a 2.5-liter 174-horsepower engine, which was later boosted to 190 hp. with. In addition, another SUV was available with a three-liter 230 hp diesel engine. with.
