This car was presented to the public in 2002. Even then, the Chevrolet Aveo was produced in 3 bodies: a sedan and 2 hatchbacks with three and five doors. The car quickly took a leading position in popularity due to its design, size, driving characteristics and cost.

Official data (l/100 km)

Engine Consumption (city) Consumption (highway) Flow (mixed)
1.4 MT5 (hatchback/sedan) 7,7 4,9 5,9
1.4 AT6 (hatchback/sedan) 9,0 5,4 6,8
1.6 MT5 (hatchback/sedan) 8,9 5,3 6,6
1.6 AT6 (hatchback/sedan) 9,9 5,5 7,1

1st generation

Engine 1.2

T200 - this is exactly the marking that the 1st generation of the model received. A little later, in 2008, it was restyled and the technical side was slightly improved, and the platform also changed - now it became known as the T250. That generation was equipped with several engines. The first was a simple aspirated engine, which had a volume of 1.2 liters and developed a power of 72 horsepower. It could only be paired with a five-speed automatic. In 2008, this engine was modified, and the new power plant could produce 84 horsepower. A choice of alternative transmission, a four-speed automatic, is also now available. Fuel consumption per 100 km for this configuration is 8 liters in the city and 6 on the highway.

“When I was choosing a car, I had a choice between Logan or Aveo. I decided to save a little and chose the second option with a 1.2 liter engine. The car is good, comfortable, handles the road well. It just eats a lot of gasoline. In winter it can reach 10 liters in the city. In my practice, even larger engines did not spend that much,” writes Nikolai from Moscow.

Engine 1.4

The next engine that was installed in the Chevrolet Aveo was an injection 1.4 liter engine with a capacity of 94 horsepower. It was installed in most of the cars of this model. In 2008, as with the previous configuration, it was boosted, and now the engine produces 100 horses. As for the transmission, the buyer can choose either a four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual. The consumption rates specified in the passport are 7 and 10 liters on the highway and in the city.

Ivan from St. Petersburg left his review about this configuration:

“I wanted to buy another model, but when I came to the showroom, there was a tempting promotion on Aveo, which prompted me to buy it. I can't say that I was satisfied. Yes, the car is good, both externally and internally, the design and interior are all right. But the engine did not please me. The car drives poorly, but it eats well. In the city it comes out to 11 liters, and without air conditioning, climate control and other things.”

Engine 1.6

The most powerful engine of the first generation is the 1.6 liter version. It produces 106 horsepower. The transmission configuration is the same as the previous engine. The consumption of this engine is 9 liters in the city and 7 on the highway.

“I’ve been living in America for a long time. When the ship arrived, I followed the fashion and bought a big car, but soon I got tired of it, and I exchanged it for the new Aveo 1.6. The car is good, comfortable and roomy. It has never broken down, I have never even seen the engine yet. But he eats decently. 13 liters in the city is somehow too much for a budget car,” this is a review from Kirill from Washington.

2nd generation

In 2011, Chevrolet pleased fans with the new generation of Aveo, which received the T300 markings. All the same power plants are used here as before, only their power has been increased, and the first diesel engine has appeared - a 1.5 liter with a capacity of 93 horsepower.

Engine 1.2

The main engine used by the 2nd generation is a 1.2 liter version of the engine, from which it was possible to squeeze out 86 horsepower. But the transmission package was not changed. There's only a five-speed automatic. Despite the increased power, consumption has decreased noticeably. Now it is designated in 6 and 8 liters.

Elizaveta from Vladivostok spoke about this configuration:

“When I was choosing a car, I consulted with many friends. They all said that it was unlikely that such a car would be able to drive normally in the city with a 1.2-liter engine. Naturally, I didn’t listen to anyone and took the second generation Aveo with exactly this engine. As it turned out, not in vain. For commuting and shopping, you can't imagine anything better. True, when I read reviews about this engine in the first generation, I said I would go broke on gasoline. But things didn't turn out so bad. Consumption is only 8 liters in the city, just like in the passport.”

Engine 1.4

They decided not to change the 1.4-liter engine in the 2nd generation. All indicators are identical to the previous model. But the choice of gearbox has changed. This engine is available with a six-speed automatic and a five-speed manual.

“I work as a courier and a car is extremely important to me. When buying, I looked only at the cost and gas mileage. And now, having met all my requirements, it takes up space in my garage for a 2014 Chevrolet Aveo with a 1.4 engine. The car is amazing, I can’t even point out any flaws. I am especially pleased that the consumption does not differ from the passport one. 5 liters on the highway and 7 in the city – what else do you need for happiness?” writes Artem from Rostov.

Engine 1.6

The most powerful engine of the new generation is also the 1.6 liter version. This engine is capable of producing 115 horsepower. Again, the power plant has become more powerful, but consumption has decreased compared to the previous generation. Now it is equal to 7 liters on the highway and 9 in the city.

Dmitry from Vologda spoke about this configuration in his review:

“I bought a car for my wife, but when I got into it myself, I was amazed. A fairly powerful motor pulls such a small car very vigorously, everything works smoothly, nothing breaks or knocks. Consumables were changed a couple of times and that was the end of the service. I was also pleased with the fuel consumption; in the city it did not exceed the 10 liter mark.

Fuel consumption is one of the most controversial issues. According to the technical documentation, these are some indicators, but in reality they are completely different. We will try to achieve the truth, and also consider what numbers the manufacturer provides.

Fuel consumption according to factory data

The manufacturer prescribes consumption rates according to test data before putting the vehicle into operation. So, the average consumption of Aveo of different generations should be from 5.5 to 7.5 liters.

Fuel consumption according to owners

If, according to the manufacturer’s indicators, consumption ranges from 5.5 to 7.5 liters for every 100 km, then in reality the situation is completely different. After several months of use, everything changes dramatically. So, according to most owners, there is an increase in consumption, especially in the urban cycle.

Average fuel consumption is shown on the instrument panel.

It is worth considering that many car owners, instead of the recommended AI-95, fill in the usual 92nd, which may increase consumption. At the same time, on the highway everything remains unchanged 5-5.5 liters, and from around the city it jumps to 10-12 liters.

In order to adhere to the fuel consumption set by the factory, the manufacturer recommends regular maintenance, filling with high-quality fuel, and not being reckless.

Conclusion

Fuel consumption on a Chevrolet Aveo ranges from 5.5 to 7.5 liters per 100 km according to the manufacturer’s standards. According to the owners, this approximately coincides with reality. Of course, you can reduce the indicator using chip tuning or other known methods.

Many Chevrolet cars have long been considered popular cars; they are economical, comfortable and have many functions at a low price. Does the fuel consumption of the Chevrolet Aveo confirm the drivers' opinion that this horse is, after all, the most economical?

Of course, it is not surprising that this is important for cars of this level, because not everyone can afford the maintenance and use of a car. But at the same time, every car owner would like to improve or upgrade it, so that the time spent behind the wheel brings only pleasure.

Real fuel consumption.

As reviews indicate, Fuel consumption of the Chevrolet Aveo T 250 per 100 km in the city does not exceed 9 liters. This is considered a fairly economical indicator. Despite the fact that this sedan has good technical characteristics, it still has several improved models. They are equipped with many new instruments and are slightly more comfortable than the original model.

Chevrolet Aveo's fuel consumption on the highway does not exceed 6 liters. These data are more than encouraging, because on the highway the car moves at approximately the same speed, without sudden starts, braking, etc., this helps to achieve stable engine speeds and optimal fuel consumption. At a time when fuel consumption on a Chevrolet Aveo in the city is higher due to unstable engine speeds, which ultimately lead to high fuel consumption.

It is worth considering that the gasoline consumption of the Chevrolet Aveo 2012 per 100 km is also affected by driving habits, road conditions and the large number of electrical appliances that fill the body

.

How to reduce fuel consumption.

Before buying a car, you should understand for yourself how much personal funds you can spend on car maintenance per year. Use this information when purchasing, so that your car does not become an expensive pleasure and constant problems for you. If your car exceeds the gasoline consumption standards of the Chevrolet Aveo, then we have a couple of tips that will help you save.

Some tips to help reduce car consumption:

  • If for some reason your car's fuel consumption is higher than it should be, be sure to check it at the dealership or with a good mechanic for possible breakdowns that cause your horse to increase the real fuel consumption of a Chevrolet Aveo by 100 km.
  • Do not skimp on repairs, because this can lead to a number of new breakdowns that will ruin your Chevrolet.
  • Do not skimp on gasoline, and fill your car only with high-quality fuel, this will stabilize the average fuel consumption on a Chevrolet Aveo (automatic).
  • Be careful on the road, avoid driving harshly, so your car will always operate at optimal speeds and will not consume more fuel than it needs. Good driving habits will also help protect your Chevrolet Aveo from unplanned breakdowns and costs.

Content

For the first time, the subcompact city car Chevrolet Aveo, the design of which was developed by the Italian studio ItalDesign, was presented in 2002, in three body styles: a sedan and a hatchback in versions with 3 and 5 doors. The car was widely sold around the world by many companies that are part of the GM group under various names: Chevrolet Lova/Calos, Daewoo Calos, Pontiac Wave, Holden Barina, etc.

In 2008, a restyled version of the Chevrolet Aveo appeared, which received the T250 index. It differed from the previous version by a slight facelift of the front end, as well as more powerful and environmentally friendly engines.

Since 2011, production of the second generation Chevrolet Aveo T300 began. The car received a completely new, more aggressive design with original optics, an innovative dashboard, as well as a new range of power units, including a 1.3-liter diesel engine.

Chevrolet Aveo 1st generation 1.2

The base engine for the Chevrolet Aveo is a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol injection engine. It develops 72 hp. and torque 104 Nm. The power unit has overhead valves and two camshafts and is mated only to a 5-speed manual transmission.
Since 2008, a more powerful motor of a similar design has been installed, which develops a power of 84 hp. and a torque of 114 Nm. Also, this engine is available not only with a manual transmission, but also with a 4-speed automatic transmission.

Gasoline consumption Chevrolet Aveo 1.2 per 100 km. Reviews

  • Alexey, Kemerovo. Initially I wanted to take a Renault Logan, either new in the database, or with low mileage, but with a richer package. But I would still have to take out a loan for a new one, so when I came across an advertisement for the sale of a 2007 Chevrolet Aveo 1.2, I decided to take it. The 1.2 liter engine is not bad, but its consumption is not that low - in the city I have 8 - 8.5 liters, in winter up to 10 liters. On the highway at 120 km/h it turns out up to 6.5 liters. By the way, I use 92 gasoline and it runs fine.
  • Egor, Kosh-Agach. I bought my Chevrolet Aveo in 2007 at a showroom, the price then was 300 thousand. Because I was planning to drive mainly only in the city; I didn’t see the point in taking a powerful engine and chose the version with a 1.2 liter engine. It was my mistake - the engine is too weak even for such a small car, it starts pulling at 4000 rpm, overtaking is simply extreme. Although the consumption is small - on the highway 5.5 liters, in the city up to 7.5 liters - but this is if you drive quietly, like a pensioner.
  • Fedor, Izhevsk. Chevrolet Aveo, 1.2MT, 2005 I bought the car when it was a year and a half old, but with a mileage of 30 thousand km. I rode it for almost five years - I had to tinker with repairs, but often the parts were cheap, so it’s no big deal. But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t reduce the consumption - if you drive normally, and don’t barely trudge, then in the city it won’t be less than ten.
  • Vitaly, Novosibirsk. After owning a “ten” for 5 years, I decided to give up on the domestic auto industry and take a foreign car, albeit a used one. Since there was only 200 thousand money, there were two options: either a STRONGLY used Japanese or German, or not much, but a worse class, like Logan. Of the worthy options, I found the Aveo 2005, with a 1.2 liter engine and a mileage of 89 thousand. The engine is not bad, it starts even in frost -30, although in such cold weather the consumption reaches 11 liters, but in the summer no more than 8 l/100 km.
  • Nikita, St. Petersburg. Chevrolet Aveo, 2007, 1.2MT. I bought it in 2011. In terms of chassis and bodywork, everything is fine, the engine is very weak, but it’s stupid to expect something supernatural from the 1.2. It is very difficult to overtake; it is often even scary to overtake. Consumption - highway 6-6.5 city - 8-9.
  • Maxim, Barnaul. What can I say - Aveo with a 1200 cm3 engine is not a car for racing. Considering only 72 horses and a gearbox with low gear ratios that is completely unsuitable for this engine, the car drives normally only when it exceeds 2500-3000 rpm. In terms of consumption, it very much depends on how much you accelerate the engine. In quiet mode on the highway you can bring it up to 5.5 l/100 km, but in winter in the city this figure will be 11.5 l.
  • Marat, Kazan. Before that I drove an old Avechka with a 1.4 engine, 2003. In 2010 I sold it and bought a newer one, 2008 with a 1.2 liter sixteen-valve engine. I read that many people complain that the 1.2 engine is weak, but this applies to 8-valve engines - mine has 12 more horsepower, which is why it is an order of magnitude faster. Accordingly, there is no need to turn the speed up so much and the consumption drops - on the highway I easily invest 5.5 liters, in the city it never happens more than 8-9, even in winter.

Chevrolet Aveo 1st generation 1.4 l

Until 2008, most Chevrolet Aveo cars were equipped with a 1.4-liter E-TEC II injection engine, developing a power of 94 hp. It has overhead valves and dual camshafts and is capable of producing torque of up to 130 Nm.

Since 2008, the restyled T250 model has been equipped with a more powerful version of the same engine, boosted to 100 hp. and producing a torque of 131 Nm. Both versions of the engine are available with both a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic.

Chevrolet Aveo fuel consumption is 1.4 per 100 km. Reviews

  • Ilya, Ryazan. I rented a car from the dealership, although I was initially considering a completely different car. But the red color won me over, plus there was a promotion. In general, I took it fully equipped, with a 1.4 liter engine and a handle. I measured the consumption in different ways, and in the end I got the following arithmetic average: city summer from 7 to 9 liters, winter city from 8 to 10.5 liters, highway from 5 to 6 liters, depending on the speed. All indicators are without climate control - it consumes both gasoline and dynamics.
  • Fedor Anatolyevich, Novosibirsk. The damned crisis in 2008 ate up all my savings - what would have been enough to buy a new Toyota was now only enough for some kind of budget car, and only a basic one. My wife and I decided that if we were to take it, then at least in a normal configuration, and at the beginning of 2009, in a Chevrolet showroom, we picked up an Aveo (2008 year of manufacture) with a 1.4 engine, an automatic transmission, and a complete mess. In principle, I’m happy with everything - I drive calmly, so the power and dynamics are enough for me. The consumption is small, but in winter due to severe frosts it comes out to 12 liters, in summer it is much less - 7-8.
  • Zakhar, Tyumen. The car was not bought as a family car, but for work, because I have to travel a lot on business. Naturally, the main criteria were low consumption, low price and at least some amenities. Chevrolet Aveo is an excellent option in all respects. It eats a little - with a 1.4 liter engine and a handle, even in -25...-30 I didn’t consume more than 10 liters in the city, in the summer up to 8 liters. But this is provided that you do maintenance and service on time, as well as change spark plugs every 7,000 km, and also clean the USR - otherwise consumption immediately increases.
  • Alexey, Khabarovsk. After selling the 1998 Camry, I bought a car for my wife - I’ve had Avenis for a long time. My wife doesn’t like the automatic, so we went with a manual, with a 1.4-liter engine and a 5-door hatchback. The interior is basically spacious, the engine is also not bad - compared to the Avensis, of course, it’s nothing, but it’s enough for my wife in the city, and she doesn’t drive more than 100 km/h on the highway. But my wife’s consumption is up to 7 liters, in winter a little more, about a liter.
  • Evgeniy, St. Petersburg. Chevrolet Aveo is my first car. My father helped with the money, I saved up a little over 3 years of study and part-time work - in general, I bought a hatchback with a 1.4 liter engine from 2006, with narrow headlights. The color is certainly not great, but there weren’t really any other options for that amount. In the first year I had to tinker with it and go through the services, but I got it right and now it doesn’t bother me. I am most pleased with the consumption, because... These are constant costs - even with St. Petersburg traffic jams, my consumption does not exceed tens, and on average it’s 7-8 liters.
  • Alexander, Ufa. I bought the car from a guy who works shifts in the North - I think this is a very good option. Judge for yourself - the car is from 2008, and it had 84 thousand miles at the time of purchase (2016). The engine is good, 100 horsepower, power accessories, 4 airbags and all that. At first it was unusual, the engine starts to pull only from 3000 rpm, so in the city the consumption of up to 10 liters drops.
  • Anton, Nizhny Novgorod. When I was choosing the Aveo, I was considering options with a 1.6 liter engine, but there were no good options, so I already started choosing versions with a 1.4 liter engine. I found a good car - a 2007 with a manual transmission, not damaged, in good condition, although it has 95 thousand miles on it. I'm about 70% happy with the car - the dynamics are not bad, the speed is also picking up normal, but the average consumption in the city is ten, rarely up to 9 liters.

Chevrolet Aveo 1st generation 1.6 l

1.6 liter petrol engines are the most powerful power units installed on the Chevrolet Aveo. This engine develops a power of 106 hp. and a torque of 145 Nm. It has 16 cylinders and overhead camshafts. A similar engine is installed on many Chevrolet models, including Cruze and others, and is available with both a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic.

Reviews about the consumption of Chevrolet Aveo 1.6

  • Andrew, Cleveland. I've been living in America for quite a long time. It’s only in the movies that everyone here drives Suburbans; in reality, many, especially in cities, choose more compact and inexpensive cars. I didn’t see the point in buying a new car, so I traded in my old Altima and bought a two-year-old 2004 Chevrolet Aveo. In general, the engine more or less never opened and did not consume oil, but gasoline was like a horse, it took me about 10-12 liters in the city - that’s a lot. And the suspension sucks - you can feel all the bumps. By the way, he’s not American at all - all the spare parts are Made in Korea, that’s it.
  • Alena, Orel. My husband bought it in 2007 so that I wouldn’t beg him for his car. Since a friend has a similar car with a 1.2 engine, her husband decided that such an engine was not enough and ordered a version with a 1.6 from the salon. We waited almost 2 months for it to arrive. I don’t feel much difference, since I don’t race much. Consumption is low - in the city it’s almost 9-10 liters, outside the city it’s about 7. My friend’s is almost the same, but she has a smaller engine.

Chevrolet Aveo 2nd generation 1.2 l

The second generation Chevrolet Aveo, whose production began in 2011, was equipped with engines of the same displacement as the first generation, but with higher power. Thus, the base 1.2-liter engine received a power of 86 hp. and a torque of 115 Nm, but, like the previous version, is available exclusively in tandem with a manual transmission.

Reviews on fuel consumption of Chevrolet Aveo 1.2

  • Anna, Penza. I bought myself a 2014 Aveo, new, from the showroom. Colleagues say that it has a weak engine, but it’s enough for me in the city. I can’t say for sure about consumption, but I fill up quite rarely. In addition, the car is very convenient - you can park everywhere.
  • Dmitry, Moscow. I bought it specifically for taxi work, since the 1.2 engine, according to reviews, has low gas mileage. Indeed, it consumes very little - in the city 7-8 city, with traffic jams up to 9 liters. True, the engine has no dynamics - but I don’t really need it.
  • Anastasia, Yekaterinburg. I liked the car at first sight. Women usually buy sleek cars, but this one has such a brutal appearance. The dimensions are compact - I have a three-door hatchback, but the interior is spacious. I travel every day, but for short distances: kindergarten-work-kindergarten-home, maximum 30-40 km a day, so a full tank lasts me more than 2 weeks.
  • Pavel, St. Petersburg. Actually, I took this car for my wife’s birthday. But it turned out that I sold my old car, and until I bought a new one, I drove the Aveo for almost 3 months. The engine is very slow to overtake, but for quiet city driving this is not critical. But it consumes little gasoline - with traffic jams up to 8 liters, and on the highway no more than 6 liters.
  • Ekaterina, Moscow. I used to drive a Chevrolet Spark, but after it started to break down, I sold it and bought a new Chevrolet Aveo at the dealership. The engine is 1.2, the transmission is really manual, but I’m not used to an automatic. It's the same size as a Spark, and the consumption is also about the same - I drive calmly and carefully, so I get up to 7 liters, but my routes are such that I rarely get stuck in traffic jams.
  • Victor, Kaliningrad. Chevrolet Aveo, 1.2 MT, 2015. The engine is more powerful here than in the previous version, but it still pulls rather weakly. This is especially felt when you turn on the air conditioner - it feels like a concrete slab is tied to the car. Consumption on the highway is 5.5 liters, in the city up to 8 - a bit much for such a small engine.

Chevrolet Aveo 2nd generation, 1.4 l

The 2nd generation Chevrolet Aveo is equipped with a 1.4 liter petrol injection engine, similar to the one installed on the first generation cars after the 2008 restyling. It produces 100 hp and 130 Nm of torque, and is available with either a 5-speed manual or a new 6-speed automatic.

Chevrolet Aveo fuel consumption rate is 1.4 per 100 km

  • Akim, Pomozdino. I bought a Chevrolet Aveo 1.4MT for work - I work as a sales agent, and I can’t live without a car. Since I have to ride a lot, I initially considered only those options with low gas mileage. Aveo is exactly the option that was needed. A fairly powerful engine with 100 horsepower, but the consumption is small - 6 liters outside the city, 7-8 in the city.
  • Sergey, Ryazan. A 2015 Chevrolet Aveo was purchased for my son in honor of his graduation from university. I graduated with a diploma, studied well - I think I deserved it. My son just fell in love with the car, and I like it too - stylish design, powerful engine, although small in size (relative to my Prado). Consumption is generally cheap - outside the city 5 liters per hundred square meters, in the city 8.5 liters.
  • Pavel, Moscow. An excellent car for the city, especially in the hatchback body. Dimensions allow parking without problems, good handling. The engine is dynamic, picks up speed well, and consumption in Moscow traffic jams does not exceed 10 liters. If anyone thinks this is a lot, they haven’t driven around Moscow; a colleague’s 2-liter Camry sometimes gets up to 20 liters.
  • Dmitry, Belgorod. Chevrolet Aveo, 1.4AT, 2013. I bought it at a dealership; before that I had a Priora. The cars seem to be of the same category, but they differ very much from each other, especially in terms of comfort. And the dynamics of the Aveo are better than those of the Priora, although the horses are almost the same. Consumption is relatively low on the highway, if you drive 90 km/h, then 5-5.5 liters, in the city it’s more.
  • Stas, Krutogorsk. The car was bought in Moscow - almost 1000 km away from me. At first I was afraid - after all, it was a long distance to drive, especially since I took it from the showroom, the engine had not been broken in. But nothing, the trip went without problems. On the highway, the consumption was about 8 liters - but this took into account the fact that it had not been run-in and I was driving with an air conditioner, since the heat was crazy.
  • Sergey, Sevastopol. Really, a car for the city, for those who don’t need to put the pedal to the floor. Consumption is low - I bought it in 2012, back then we were in Ukraine, gasoline is really expensive, so I got 7 - 7.5 liters in mixed mode. Now gasoline is cheaper, but still, saving is good.

Chevrolet Aveo 2nd generation 1.6 l

The most powerful engine installed on the Chevrolet Aveo is a 1.6 liter ECOTEC naturally aspirated petrol injection engine. Compared to the previous generation, it has improved characteristics - engine power reaches 115 hp and torque of 155 Nm. The power unit works in conjunction with a 6-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission.

Real reviews of Chevrolet Aveo 1.6 fuel consumption per 100 km

  • Alena, Orel. My husband and I bought this car almost 2 years ago. At first they both drove, but then he was given a company car, so I got the Aveo for almost undivided use. The car does not cause any problems, and the consumption for such a powerful engine is simply excellent - 6.5 liters on the highway, about 10 liters in the city with the air conditioning on.
  • Vadim, Izhevsk. I bought the car for my wife's birthday. Chevrolet Aveo, 1.6AT, 2015, interior, red. A good car - I didn’t even expect that such a baby would have such a powerful engine. 115 horses, whatever one may say, is a lot. At the same time, the consumption is really low - in mixed mode it comes out to about 8-9 liters.
  • Olga, Saratov. When I saw this car in the showroom, I literally fell in love with it. Thanks to my dad - he helped me buy it, and talked me out of taking the cheapest option, gave me the money and bought me a 1.6 liter engine. To be honest, I don’t really understand what the difference is, but it’s a very fast car. I drive more on the highway - we live outside the city, so I get about 8 liters in highway + city mode.
  • Yuri, Rybinsk. I bought a car in 2015. I immediately took the 1.6 liter engine - for work I drove a previous generation Aveo with a 1.2 engine for a couple of months, it was just a mockery, but it didn’t drive, I couldn’t pull it at all. But this engine pulls great and overtakes with ease. But the consumption is also appropriate - in the city it’s 10 liters, on the highway it’s 7, I think that’s a lot.
  • Grigory, St. Petersburg. Chevrolet Aveo, 1.6MT, 2015. I drove a Lacetti before, but this car “tired” me - the model is really outdated, both morally and physically. I decided to take the new Shevrik - it suited both the price and my requirements, and it turned out cheaper than Kalina. It’s a good engine, it pulls well at low speeds, and according to the standard BC, the consumption shows an average of about 8 l/100 km.
  • Ilya, Tyumen. I purchased my Chevrolet Aveo in 2013, during which time I drove 82 thousand km. 1.6 engine with automatic transmission, hatchback body. It delivers 160 km/h on the highway, maybe more is possible, but I’m not a fan of racing. The downside is that it is very low, and there is not enough space. The average consumption is 9.5 liters per hundred square meters.
  • Sergey, Tomsk. I change cars very often, and the fact that I’ve been driving a 2013 Aveo for two years is a real record. In principle, the car is not bad, but at first it gave me a few problems, although I bought it at the showroom. Not for speed - if the speedometer is above 100, the car really spins, and at 150 km/h the consumption reaches 12.5 liters. Plus it was an unusual box. After running in, the normal mileage was 10 in the city in winter and 9 in summer, on the highway 6 and 5 liters, respectively.

Chevrolet Aveo is a compact city car, the closest competitor to the Kia Ceed, Hyundai Solaris and Volkswagen Polo models. The first generation model was designed in the early 2000s under the direction of Italian stylist Giorgetto Giugiaro. In North America the car is known as the Chevrolet Sonic. Aveo is not officially sold in Russia now. Our car has been known for two generations. The second generation entered production in 2012.

Chevrolet Aveo owner reviews

Generation 1

With 1.2 engine

  • Boris, Krasnoyarsk. A great car for daily trips around the city. A 1.2 liter engine is enough for her, unless she goes on the highway. Otherwise, the car is great, you don’t need to drive it fast. With a manual transmission and a 1.2-liter petrol engine, fuel consumption is an average of 7 liters.
  • Svetlana, Dnepropetrovsk. I have had an Aveo since 2006, the pre-restyling version in a hatchback body. I think that the car is still relevant, as it is in excellent condition despite the mileage of 150 thousand km. It rides comfortably and brakes quickly. Consumes an average of 8 liters of gasoline with a 1.2 engine and manual transmission.
  • Dmitry, Yaroslavl. The car was inherited from my father, and he himself switched to a used Golf. Aveo - with a manual gearbox and a 1.2-liter engine, with it consumption of 8 liters of gasoline per hundred.
  • Nikita, Kursk. The car is from 2004, currently has 94 thousand km on it. The car is equipped with a 1.2-liter engine and manual transmission. Basic equipment, a typical taxi car. In this job, Aveo justifies himself 100%. It is very comfortable and has a perky character, despite its modest gasoline engine. Fuel consumption in the urban cycle is 7-8 liters per 100 km. The interior looks rustic, but is assembled very well, as befits budget foreign cars. I liked the design of the car better - many times better than that of subsequent generations. An original style invented by the Italians. No other competitor can compare with it. I am happy with the car, it is reliable and does not bother me with breakdowns.
  • Alexey, Tomsk. The car was bought secondhand. First generation model, produced in 2010 – after restyling. I have a sedan in the back, the car looks nice. Stylish enough for a budget employee, although there are some shortcomings. I didn’t like the food - to put it mildly, it’s thick and doesn’t shine with originality. I generally love sedans, at least I used to. And now they started making cars with a stern like this. In general, I decided to buy only hatchbacks for the future. My Aveo is equipped with a 1.2-liter engine, with a fuel consumption of 8 liters of gasoline.
  • Oleg, Vorkuta. The car is comfortable, accelerates to the first hundred in 15 seconds. Not bad for a 1.2-liter, which is also very economical in the urban cycle - up to 8 liters per hundred kilometers.
  • Alexander, Penza. Chevrolet Aveo is a car not without its shortcomings, but in Russia there is a high demand for it. Now on the secondary market, that’s where I bought it. I praise the comfortable suspension and the lively 1.2-liter engine, with its consumption of 8-9 liters. There is a manual transmission.

With engines 1.5 and 1.6

  • Evgeniy, Ekaterinoslavl. I'm as happy with the car as an elephant, it's a very practical and solid car. Family car, with a considerable trunk and space in the cabin, with high-quality assembly of the interior and body. The plastics in the cabin are a bit harsh, but that's okay. A car with a 1.6-liter engine consumes 10 liters per 100 km.
  • Oleg, Vorkuta. I have had the car since 2008, the version after restyling. I use this Chevrolet in a taxi, it’s a great workhorse for every day. Reliable and economical, with a lively 1.6 engine. Consumption 9-10 liters.
  • Alexander, Lipetsk. I have an Aveo with an automatic transmission and a 1.5-liter engine. With it, fuel consumption is 8-9 liters per hundred. The gearbox operates smoothly, but during acceleration there are noticeable jerks and delays when switching. Such machines are usually installed on budget cars, and Aveo is a typical representative of this class. The car couldn’t be simpler, one of the simplest among foreign cars. Although of course Logan is even simpler. Aveo at least has an original design, I'm talking about the first generation before restyling. I don’t recognize the new generation of Aveo at all, they are all ugly and do not evoke sympathy. On the first Aveo, it covered more than 100 thousand kilometers, the flight was normal.
  • Kirill, Tomsk. The car is worth the money. I would have been ready to take even a used one, but I still decided to be original. Aveo 2006, just in the year the restyled version was released. I didn't like the new model at all. Fuel consumption is 8-9 liters per 100 km. Under the hood is a 1.5 engine and a manual gearbox.
  • Vasily, Sverdlovsk. The Chevrolet Aveo is a car for the city, it is dynamic and accelerates well. You can even ride it from traffic lights. The car is equipped with a 106-horsepower 1.6 engine. Of course, with a manual transmission. Fuel consumption is 10 liters during dynamic driving.

Generation 2

With engine 1.6 manual transmission

  • Nikolay, Donetsk. I bought the Aveo on a used market, with a manual transmission and a 1.6 engine. Approximately 8-10 liters of gasoline are enough for 100 km.
  • Alexey, Irkutsk. I've had the car since 2009 and it still accelerates, handles and brakes great. A car with a pleasant, high-quality interior, nothing superfluous. All controls are in place, everything works, everything is top-notch in short. I'm happy and I don't need any other car. Fuel consumption with a 1.6 engine is 8-10 liters per hundred kilometers.
  • Oleg, Dnepropetrovsk. I wanted an Aveo with a 1.6-liter engine. It is powerful, produces more than 100 horses. The car accelerates to the first hundred in 10 seconds, the maximum speed is under 200 km/h. A comfortable and dynamic car, no worse than its more famous analogues. Gasoline consumption is 9-11 liters.
  • Maxim, Kaliningrad. A practical car for the whole family. I think that you can’t find a better Aveo on the supported market right now. I have a sedan with a 1.6-liter engine, consumption is 10 liters.
  • Alexey, Bryansk. I have a 2010 Chevrolet Aveo, with mileage currently 98 thousand km. The car has seen a lot, it has an impenetrable suspension, it is moderately rigid and not loose - it is suitable for our roads, I have tested it. The cabin is a bit cramped, especially in the back seat. And the car is pleasant to drive and brake, it carries out all commands without any hesitation, and it steers well. I don't see any reason to sell yet. I have the 1.6-liter version, the top one. With a manual transmission, the car consumes an average of 10 liters per 100 km.
  • Anatoly, Vorkuta. The car was purchased for taxi service. I bought a used copy with a mileage of 130 thousand km. I gave it away for a decent amount, but it was in good condition. Fuel consumption with a 1.6 engine is 10 liters per hundred. The motor is very powerful, with pleasant elastic acceleration, without loss of speed, so to speak. I like the car, I haven’t parted with it for eleven years now.
  • Vladimir, Veliky Novgorod. I bought the Aveo in maintained condition and have no regrets. In our city, all cars can be found in decent condition, but only if, of course, you understand them properly. Fuel consumption with a 1.6 engine is 9 - 10 liters per hundred.
  • Alexander, Bryansk. Chevrolet Aveo 2008, with a mileage of 100 thousand km and a 1.6-liter engine. It produces about 100 horsepower, and the average fuel consumption over the entire period of use is 9 liters per 100 km. Overall, I liked the car for its reliability and good quality of service.

With engine 1.6 automatic transmission

  • Ekaterina, Kazan. I bought a car with my husband. We both have licenses, so the car can be said to be shared by two. Brisk and dynamic acceleration to hundreds, an automatic transmission with smooth operation, and plus an elastic suspension. Its main advantages are minimal roll in corners and resistance to all sorts of bumps and holes, of which there are plenty on Russian roads. The car suits me, with a 1.6 engine and automatic transmission the consumption is 10 liters.
  • Yaroslav, Cheboksary. I'm happy with the car, it's a workhorse. There are no problems with maintenance; after the warranty expires, I service it myself, if possible. Consumes 10-11 liters with a 1.6 engine and automatic transmission.
  • Olga, Lipetsk. With the Chevrolet Aveo, I’m always on friendly terms; we understand each other very well. I’ve already gotten used to the car, I’ve chosen a comfortable driving style for myself. A good stylish car for every day, consumes 10-11 liters per 100 km.
  • Alexander, Kharkov. I took the Aveo in a top-end configuration with a 1.6 engine and an automatic transmission. Excellent acceleration, peppy dynamics, tenacious brakes and excellent handling. The car is tuned for the driver, and it shows in its character. In addition, Aveo pleases with fuel consumption - in the urban cycle it comes out to no more than 11 liters. The automatic transmission sometimes slows down, but this is not critical. The box reveals the potential of the engine, and this is the main advantage of my Aveo. If you drive on the highway above 120 km/h, you will get no more than 10 liters per 100 km.
  • Maxim, Dnepropetrovsk. A car for all occasions, with such and such an engine and high reliability. There are minimal breakdowns, that’s what a foreign car means – unpretentious and easy to maintain. With the engine, 1.6 gasoline consumes an average of 10 liters per hundred.
  • Anna, Ufa. They gave me a car - in maintained condition, I was just about to buy it myself, and then such luck turned up for me. All my “sponsors” were present at my birthday party, so to speak. Under the hood of my Aveo there is a 1.6-liter engine that works with an automatic transmission. The gearbox is efficient, and acceleration to the first hundred is about 10-11 seconds. Easy to drive and soft car for our roads.
  • Dmitry, Ekaterinburg. I have owned a Chevrolet Aveo since 2011, now the mileage is 100 thousand km. So far I'm happy with the car, quiet and reliable. Fuel consumption with a 1.6 engine and automatic transmission is 10 liters.
Konstantin, Odessa. This is my first foreign car, and I have only positive emotions from it. Equipped with an automatic transmission and a 1.6 engine, consumption is 10-11 liters.
