Not nostalgic for the dashing nineties? Remember how then it was fashionable to tune the "Zhiguli" anyhow? "Zubilists" appreciated aggressive "racing" body kits and louder mufflers, and among the owners of "dozens" it was a special chic to put a radiator grill in the style of Mercedes-Benz or BMW. It would seem, what does the Nissan Terrano have to do with it?

No need to resort to spectral analysis to understand: the new Nissan Terrano is a regular Renault Duster. He is also a modified Dacia Duster. Okay, today you won’t surprise anyone with badge engineering, and the move with the renaming of Dacia to Renault for Russia and some other countries was logical - not to open a dealer network of a new brand with an ambiguous image from scratch. And now Duster for some reason became "Nissan".

Almost all body panels on the Nissan Terrano are new. But the power structure of the body has remained unchanged, so Renault Duster obtrusively peeps through the new Terrano clothes.

In the photographs, the "camouflage" from "Nissan" looks quite convincing. Terrano has a solid grille, fashionable "designer" wheels, large taillights and differently shaped door panels. And on the little things: the roof rails and bumpers have changed, plus the central pillars of the body are painted black, and not in body color - this way the silhouette looks more harmonious.

But live - still turned out Renault Duster.

The salon was generally deprived of attention: there is only a slightly modernized front panel with a plastic cover at the top, updated instruments, other air ducts, its own steering wheel and a new multimedia system. Not much. Moreover, for some reason, Nissan refused the “music” steering column control panel, and the top versions of the “Duster” have a multimedia system with a larger screen. But in the most sophisticated Tekna configuration, the Nissan Terrano has a rear-view camera, while the Duster does not.

In terms of technology, everything is also familiar: gasoline engines 1.6 (102 horsepower) or 2.0 (135 horsepower), front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, a manual gearbox with a "lower" in first gear or a four-band "automatic". And the angles of entry and exit due to the new bumpers at Nissan turned out to be even slightly smaller. But the ground clearance is the same as that of the Duster - 210 millimeters.

Moreover, the basic configuration of "Nissan" - Comfort with a 102-horsepower gasoline engine, front-wheel drive and "mechanics" - costs 677 thousand rubles, 185 thousand more expensive than Renault! Sorry for what? Maybe the badge should have been changed to Infiniti?

The rear lights certainly look a lot better than those of the Renault Duster. Yes, and the rims are "fashionable."

No, of course, the right marketers work in the Renault-Nissan alliance, so the difference in price is not only for differences in appearance. "Basic" in Terrano includes frontal airbags, air conditioning, ABS, split rear sofa, MP3-audio system with Bluetooth and USB-port, as well as front power windows. Renault Duster in a similar configuration will cost 591 thousand rubles - "only" 86 thousand cheaper.

86 thousand for a new logo and a different look? Yes, the owners of the "ten" from the nineties for this money would have remade them even under a Bentley, even under a starship!

But this is only the beginning. The most affordable Terrano with all-wheel drive (the same 102-horsepower engine, manual transmission and Comfort version) costs 735 thousand, and the equipment with an “automatic” (also Comfort, but the engine is already a two-liter, 135-horsepower) is at least 762 thousand. For comparison, the base "Duster" with all-wheel drive will cost 558 thousand (with a 1.6 engine).

For 12 months of last year, Duster sold 83,702 copies and entered the top three best-selling foreign cars in Russia. “Terrano” is unlikely to be able to repeat this success.

The price for the top version of Tekna with a two-liter engine and all-wheel drive is off the charts - 885 thousand. In addition, such a Terrano will be with "mechanics": unlike the Renault Duster, a combination of a two-liter engine, all-wheel drive and an automatic transmission is not provided for it. As there is no option with a diesel engine.

The pluses include the fact that some options for Terrano will be a little cheaper: for example, the surcharge for all-wheel drive is 58 thousand rubles against 66 thousand for Duster. Color "metallic" - nine thousand against ten from Renault. But these are trifles - the main thing is that Nissan Terrano in all versions except the base one is equipped with a stabilization system that turns it into a solid "rogue" even without differential locks. On Duster, it is listed as an option even in the most expensive modification.

It feels like there is no difference in the operation of the suspension on the Duster and Terrano. This means that Nissan will cope with broken country roads no worse than its French brother.

The foppish appearance of the Nissan Terrano is completely discordant with its driving habits. There is nothing to describe here - he rides like a Renault Duster. Noise isolation is average. In turns, the Nissan rolls noticeably, while it works out bumps in the same way as the Duster - harsh, but without the slightest hint of suspension breakdown even in huge pits. The power steering is slurred: the steering wheel is too heavy in the parking lot, and with increasing speed it becomes lighter and loses information content.

The driving position is uncomfortable: there is no adjustment of the steering column for reach, and the seat itself is too flat. The quality of the interior trim is quite simple. The gear lever will have to be operated sweepingly, and the clutch pedal here is heavy and not the most informative.

Driving a Nissan Terrano is generally hard to relax. In the city, a gearbox with very short gear ratios seems uncomfortable. Yes, this decision partly replaces the downshift (in the first one you can crawl without touching the gas pedal), but under normal conditions it is more comfortable to start off with the second one. But it "spins" only up to 50 kilometers per hour.

In addition to the plastics of the rear bumpers and other lights, there are less noticeable differences. For example, the Terrano's rear towing eye is covered with a plastic lining, while the Duster's is not.

And yet, it is important for Terrano buyers to know something completely different: the main trump card of the Duster - the suspension, which does not care about any pits, has remained the same indestructible. Decent off-road behavior has also been preserved.

Yes, body-colored bumpers are easier to scratch on bushes. Yes, Nissan has slightly worse geometric cross-country ability - but not so much that it was noticeable. But the all-wheel drive transmission with a multi-plate clutch from the Nissan Murano is the same. And it is tuned exactly the same as on the "Duster". Throw in the stabilization system, which partially replaces the "real" differential lock, and an ultra-short first gear, and you get a very worthy option for any roads and directions.

It turns out that everything is familiar and everything seems to be good. But if the Renault Duster blew up the market, seizing the undisputed leadership in the crossover segment, then the more expensive Nissan Terrano will no longer have such a chance. Yes, Terrano looks more elegant, but you will spend your money only on throwing dust in your eyes - after all, technically the car is no different from Renault Duster. In addition, his philosophy of being simple but honest is much more respectable.

Over the past few years, the popularity of crossovers among domestic motorists has increased significantly. This is due to the fact that such cars are best suited for operation on our roads. The crossover, as a rule, is characterized by a powerful gasoline or diesel engine, reliable suspension, all-wheel drive and a body of a supporting structure. Such a car is suitable for daily trips, travel, trips to. Leading automotive giants regularly update both the budget line and the premium segment. In any case, there are plenty to choose from.

According to statistical studies, most of the drivers of the post-Soviet space prefer to make a choice between two models - Nissan Terrano or Renault Duster. Assessing these two SUVs visually, you can really find a relationship between them. But, nevertheless, fundamental differences can also be traced, it is for this reason that many buyers, choosing the most suitable car model, ask themselves: “what is better to choose - Nissan Terrano or Renault Duster?”. Let's compare the representative of the Japanese and French automotive industry and find out what is best to buy in modern realities.

Design: is there a difference?

Perhaps one of the most difficult stages of comparing two cars. You can’t say that Nissan Terrano and Renault Duster are absolutely similar. No, but this makes it even more difficult to choose between them, who is better and more attractive. You can argue endlessly about which car is brighter and more catchy in terms of external data, because the concept of attractiveness is different for everyone.

If we draw parallels, we can clearly detect the following differences in design:

  • Different rear and front lights;
  • Each car has a unique grille;
  • Bumper of various shapes;
  • Distinctive rims.

It is these design elements that emphasize the individuality and originality of each crossover. During the restyling, French engineers devoted much of their time to the exterior of the Renault Duster. Powerful wheel arches combined with a high body allowed the Duster to find its own character. Appearance may lead to the idea that this car is much more expensive than many of its competitors.

In turn, the Nissan Terrano outwardly stands out with the branded "Nissan" false radiator grille, emphasizing the aggressive design, and stylish angular headlights. Perhaps this is where the confrontation between Terrano and Duster in design ends. It is worth looking at the car in profile, as their relationship immediately looms. Body panels are almost identical, and overall dimensions are the same.

Bottom line: Nissan Terrano outwardly is a mini-version of an elite SUV, notes of originality are visible. Renault Duster cannot boast of a “zest”, lacks sophistication and originality.

Inside Nissan Terrano and Renault Duster

Looking into the interior of "Terrano", it is impossible not to note the new design of the steering wheel, which doomed the signature Nissan emblem. But the Japanese decided not to touch the instrument panel, and they have not changed the design of this structural element for a long time. The deflectors located in the center of the panel have lost their rounded shape, but the side ones remained unchanged for no good reason. They decided to equip a niche for various automotive trifles with a lid, for which we can only express gratitude to the manufacturer. There was no real revolution inside the Nissan Terrano, the last restyling brought only minor changes to the interior.

But Renault decided to thoroughly modify the interior. The multimedia console has been completely redesigned, now pleasing the driver with its intuitive graphical interface. The competitor's console remained the same, with a lower level of detail and a smaller screen size. The upholstery of the chairs, both in the first and in the second case, is fabric. It is possible to acquire leather material for an additional fee. Also, the reviews of car owners note that the rear space of the cabin is somewhat limited, in some cases, passengers experience discomfort during the trip.

Bottom line: Renault has done a lot of work on modifying the interior, plus the Duster boasts dual-zone climate control. Nissan has not worked on the interior of the crossover for a long time, making mostly cosmetic changes.

Compare powertrains and cross-country ability

Motors

So we came to the climax in the review of two crossovers - a comparison of the power unit and driving performance. A good car should not only be visually attractive and comfortable, but also agile on city and country roads. Nissan offer the buyer two different engines during the purchase of "Terrano": 1.6 and 2.0-liter engine, characterized by a capacity of 102 and 135 horsepower, respectively. Both motors have their pros and cons. The modification with front-wheel drive is equipped only with an automatic transmission, the all-wheel drive version is equipped with a manual transmission.

  1. Four cylinders.
  2. Sixteen valves.
  3. The maximum speed is 180 km/h.
  4. Acceleration to 100 km / h - 10.5 seconds.
  5. Fuel consumption in the suburban / urban cycle - 6.5 / 10 liters.

Renault Duster, compared to its competitor, looks more attractive and diverse in terms of choosing the most suitable engine. In addition to two petrol engines of 1.6 and 2.0 liters, a 1.5-liter diesel power unit with 90 hp is available. It is worth saying that the above-mentioned Nissan and Renault aspirated engines are largely identical, the only difference is that the “Duster” engines are more powerful. Another advantage of the representative of the French car industry is that the automatic transmission is available in all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive versions. Diesel only works with mechanics.

patency

From indicators of power and dynamism, we smoothly move on to an equally important characteristic - cross-country ability. The low overhangs of the “Japanese” and various exterior elements sometimes make you think about whether it is worth going into the boundless and uncharted expanses of off-road. But the unpainted lower part of the Renault front bumper removes the owner from this kind of thinking. Plus, the bumper design is conducive to overcoming steep descents and ascents. Otherwise, both representatives are the same:

  • Murano electromagnetic clutch;
  • Front suspension from MacPherson;
  • Identical linkage rear suspension;
  • The presence of telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers.

Bottom line: comparing the power units "Terrano" and "Duster", it is almost impossible to discern between them serious differences in terms of design. Renault offers an extensive line of engines, equip the all-wheel drive version of the crossover with an automatic transmission, the “Frenchman” is variable, able to overcome steeper climbs and descents. The version with a diesel power plant will be the best option for those who prioritize such an indicator as efficiency over a car.

Price-quality ratio

A review of the Nissan Terrano and Renault Duster would not be complete without a price ratio. This criterion is often in many respects determining during the choice of a suitable car. For the Japanese off-road conqueror in the minimum configuration, you will have to pay 790,000 rubles. The French version will cost 600,000 rubles in the minimum configuration. The difference in price is 190 thousand rubles between two crossovers that are almost identical in technical terms. In fairness, it’s worth saying that the Terrano comes with a painted bumper, power windows, two airbags, and an audio system.

For a "Duster" of a similar configuration, you need to pay about 690 thousand rubles, which is still lower than the face value of the "Japanese". The Luxe Privilege package costs 1 million rubles, the top Terrano package will cost more than 1 million 100 thousand rubles. But, nevertheless, with equal technical characteristics, there is still a difference of 100,000 rubles between the two models. Therefore, comparing the price-quality ratio, the undisputed winner is the representative of the French automotive industry.

Summing up

Nissan Terrano or Renault Duster? What is the best choice in the end? If you prefer outwardly more refined cars, then it is best to stop at the Nissan Terrano. If the appearance does not matter, the priority is given to crossover characteristics such as cross-country ability, interior comfort and luggage compartment capacity, the Renault Duster is definitely the choice. In all other respects we have two identical cars.

Also, potential buyers often ask the question: “If there is no significant difference, why is Terrano more expensive?”. The answer lies on the surface - you need to pay a little extra for the brand. Japanese cars are famous for their untarnished reputation, which is highly valued among motorists. The status of Japanese automakers obliges to pay a certain amount, which will become a kind of entrance ticket to the "elite club". In addition, the Japanese offer the appropriate service, insurance and guarantees.

Both cars are built not just on a common platform, but at the same plant and even on the same conveyor using the same power units, transmissions and even bodies. The difference lies in the stylistic design of the front and headlights at the stern. Terrano has a larger grille and more chrome inserts on the body, which evoke thoughts of solidity.

In other words, Nissan took Renault's most popular car and turned it into its junior SUV.

Five or six steps?

Now both cars have gone through an update, got better sound insulation and learned how to drive steadily at speeds over 120 km / h. There are legends about the suspension, which is put on both SUVs without changes. This is the most impenetrable and reliable design of all that are sold in the mass segment. Both Duster and Terrano can safely go on a long journey on the worst roads. Where others change punctured wheels, both cars fly by with ease.

But how do twin brothers differ and why do buyers need to pay attention to one to the detriment of the other and overpay for a car by 120 thousand more?

When the Duster was designed, it was assumed that it would be a real hard worker. He can go to the mountains, and he is not averse to riding on muddy primers. Severe operating conditions impose their requirements on the machine. Duster is used to be perceived as a stern youngster who does not like to lavish sentimentality. And that means it fits and combat equipment.

Without a manual transmission and all-wheel drive from Murano, he is ashamed to show himself. With a 6-speed transmission, the car is noticeably different from the front-wheel drive version with a 5-speed. The gear ratios of the off-road gearbox give it a special character. The first stage is very short and is used only for cross-country driving. It is not recommended to use it on asphalt. The fuel consumption is too high.

You need to start from the second, and I did it even at idle. Stick the handle in and slowly release the clutch. The car adds a little traction and rolls forward completely freely.

Two automata

The inside of the Nissan Terrano is exactly the same as the Duster. It even smells like a salon. The seats, dashboard, shift knob and key layout are reminiscent of Renault, except for the Japanese logo on the steering wheel instead of the diamond emblem.

Therefore, it depends on the future owner how to make the car as unlike a Frenchman as possible. We sweep aside the leather interior. It exudes a too pungent odor in the sun. Cloth upholstery, although it loses in functionality, but looks more aesthetically pleasing.

On the center console, a radio with a large screen and a navigation unit is required. It brings more convenience to operation and pleases with useful properties. True, in the sun it glares, and the image is lost.

And most importantly, Terrano must be bought with an automatic transmission. The 2.0-liter version has the same TL8 unit as the Duster. It is predictable in city traffic and gives the car comfort. And in terms of reliability, the TL8 fits perfectly into the ideas about the Japanese brand. Although there were problems with this transmission on the previous Terrano. It overheated under heavy and prolonged loads. In the upgraded version, the machine was corrected and taught to cope with mud and snow. And that's good, because the 2.0-liter Terrano AWD 4AT comes with all-wheel drive. It is based on the same Murano clutch as on the Duster, capable of locking with a 50/50 power split.

Such a combination greatly loses to versions with a manual gearbox, and there is nothing for it to do off-road. The machine immediately starts to burn fuel and overloads the engine and torque converter at low speeds. The gear ratios do not allow you to filigree climb the boulders, as it happens with the Duster on the mechanics. Therefore, the lot of Terrano with a gun is urban life, light snowdrifts and short-term races on primers to the country house in the summer. All-wheel drive Nissan with a gun is not capable of great feats. There is a 6-speed manual for this. And she works wonders. But driving a Nissan with mechanics is undignified.

In general, the same machines, sold in two guises, can solve different problems. For connoisseurs of brutal style and high comfort, Terrano with automatic transmission is suitable. It's not a pity to pay more than a million for such a dandy. The car really looks decent, and the high reliability of its new units is confirmed by the reviews of the owners.

Well, a more rustic Duster is useful for people who are forced to drive off-road. With all the functionality, it is not a pity to rip it off on branches and stones. Such decorations even suit him.

Nissan Terrano - a car with improved cross-country ability and an optional All Mode 4 × 4 all-wheel drive system, developed on the basis of Duster, belongs to the class of urban crossovers, although it is positioned and promoted by the Japanese manufacturer as a full-fledged SUV. Nissan Terrano has a reliable suspension, excellent geometric cross-country ability and a 2-liter engine in the engine range, which pulls well “on the bottoms”.

Crossover Overview

Design

The Nissan crossover looks modern compared to the pre-styling Duster. The Terrano's front end is stylistically similar to the Japanese manufacturer's older SUVs. Head optics and a chrome grille look harmonious and moderately aggressive, giving the crossover seriousness and masculinity.

However, the Terrano taillights look too simple, losing out to the unusual S-shaped Duster ones that appeared after the update. The car of the Japanese brand is available only in 5 body colors, including blue, black, white, gray and silver.

Salon

Nissan is positioned as a more expensive car compared to Renault. The interior of the Japanese crossover has much in common with the interior of the French car. The only differences are rectangular air duct deflectors on the center console, additional storage for small items on the front panel, a steering wheel with a different hub. Finishing materials in a Japanese car are unimportant, regardless of version and equipment level.

Specifications

The city SUV is equipped with 2 power plants of the buyer's choice, running on gasoline. The younger engine is a 1.6-liter, 114-horsepower. A more powerful option - 2 liters, 143 hp. Conforms to the environmental standard Euro-5. The torque of this engine is 195 Nm. For motors, 3 gearboxes are offered to choose from - a 5- or 6-speed “handle”, a 4-speed automatic. The 2 liter engine (F4R) is only available with an all-wheel drive system operating in Auto, Lock or 2WD modes.
In the first, there is an automatic distribution of torque to ensure reliable grip and stable directional stability. In the second, the center clutch is forcibly blocked and at the same time the off-road settings for the brake system and are activated. The standard 2WD mode is designed for urban use, disables the rear axle and saves fuel.

Main off-road features

Already in a standard complete set has protection of a crankcase of the engine. A strong steel structure under the bottom keeps the motor from shock, strong shaking, dust and dirt. Vehicle ground clearance is 205 or 210 mm, depending on the mono- or all-wheel drive version of the CUV. The approach and exit angles are 28.5 and 33.3 degrees, respectively.

Options and prices

The car is offered on the Russian market in 4 trim levels. The starting price is 795 thousand rubles. For this money, the future car owner will receive a 114-horsepower front-wheel drive car. Gearbox - 5-speed "mechanics". From standard equipment: 2 airbags, air conditioning, MP3 and 4 speakers, electric front windows, electric exterior mirrors.

The cost of the most equipped Japanese crossover with a 4x4 system and 4-automatic transmission starts from 1,090 thousand rubles. The car has leather-trimmed seats, a rear-view camera and multimedia navigation equipment with a 7-inch screen.

What has changed in the 2017 model year car?

The Japanese clone car appeared in 2014, 2 years later than the single-platform Renault. Since then, it has undergone several restylings, during which technical and cosmetic changes have been made, new options have been added. The 2017 model differs from last year's model in the following details:

  1. ERA-GLONASS emergency assistance system. ERA-GLONASS is a unified standardized system of operational assistance in case of traffic accidents and accidents in the territory of the Russian Federation. Developed in Russia as an analogue of the European eCall. All 2017 Terranos are equipped with this security system.
  2. New options on Elegance and Tekna trim levels. Elegance is the second most equipped version of a Japanese car after Comfort. It appeared: technology for remote start of the power unit, a windshield heating system, cruise control. The Tekna package (more expensive than Elegance) has expanded with an improved rear-view camera, a new navigation system and a joystick for controlling the music system located under the steering wheel.
  3. Comfortable salon. The main differences are the changed shape of the seats and the appearance of a new wear-resistant upholstery material in all trim levels, except for Tekna, which is sold only with leather trim.

About competitors

1 Renault Duster

Terrano is an exact copy of the French car. If Nissan had advantages over the pre-styling car (brutal appearance, more options to choose from), then after the modernization, the “Japanese” began to look less attractive to Russian buyers.

The choice of engines and gearboxes for both cars is identical. This determines the same dynamics and behavior of off-road vehicles in the urban environment and beyond. The only difference is the presence of a 1.5-liter diesel engine in the engine range of the “Frenchman”, developing 109 hp.

In both entry-level machines, interiors are offered in dark gray tones with inexpensive plastics. The overall impression of the interior decoration improves only in more expensive versions. For Japanese and French cars in the top configuration, leather seats are available, a new multimedia system with a 7-inch display.

There are differences in the basic level of equipment. The standard version of the Terrano crossover includes 2 electric windows and 2 airbags. In the regular Duster version, only 1 front airbag for the driver is available.

The compact crossover from the South Korean manufacturer, which was developed on the basis of the i20 car, has a proprietary design from Hyundai, is available with 3 engines to choose from with a return of 121, 123 and 149 hp. Compared to Terrano, it has a 6-speed automatic instead of the outdated 4-band "automatic". 6-automatic transmission contributes to a comfortable and smooth movement due to a larger number of gears.

Creta, unlike off-road competitors, is better suited for urban use. It is more compact in overall dimensions, more economical, has a 55-liter fuel tank versus 50-liter in Terrano. The main drawback is more modest off-road capabilities. The urban crossover from Hyundai has a 190 mm ground clearance and a lower geometric cross-country ability of the body.

Nissan Terrano is an attempt by the Japanese manufacturer to play on a well-known off-road name by offering Duster customers at a higher price. In a detailed comparison of the two cars, it is problematic to find differences. The Terrano needs a major update to differentiate itself from the Renault crossover and justify the high price tag.

New Hyundai looks more interesting than competitors in terms of choice of engines, design and interior decoration, but the South Korean CUV is much less suited to off-road adventures.

The French SUV Renault Duster has long won well-deserved popularity among the population as a reliable car that can not only feel good in the city, but also confidently overcome impassability. But recently, a model has been introduced on the market, which is based on the same platform - Nissan Terrano. And right away, many motorists had questions when choosing a car, and this is quite natural, because many of the functions and pricing policies of the concerns are the same, so you need to compare Nissan Terano and Renault Duster to determine the most optimal choice.

First of all, it is better to start the comparison with the exterior of the two cars. Renault Duster has already undergone one restyling and the third generation of the SUV is expected to be released soon. Nissan Terrano initially received recognizable design features from other models of the concern, including recognizable V-shaped grille elements that were previously used in the premium segment. These exterior details, together with the modified forms of bumpers and body kit, positively distinguish it from the competitor. At the same time, both cars managed to maintain the ability to overcome off-road and practicality.

Salon

Being behind the wheel of both cars, it becomes clear that these two SUVs belong to the budget class. But, despite this, the interior uses all the achievements of modern engineering. The dashboard and center console have a modern look, the driver has access to all the necessary information about the car.

If we compare the dashboard, then after the restyling, the difference between Renault Dester is that it has undergone significant changes and has become more harmonious. After the appearance of the model on the market, it received numerous positive reviews.

But at the same time, the "Frenchman" has serious disadvantages. The most important of them is the low location of the multimedia system. Because of this, the owner of the Duster often has to be distracted from the road in order to look at what is happening on the screen. Nissan developers have foreseen this problem and placed the display at the top of the panel, just below the deflectors.

patency

Both cars belong to the SUV class - off-road crossovers. Therefore, this evaluation criterion is one of the most important. To understand how the car is adapted to travel over rough terrain

The four-wheel drive of these cars is made using the same technology. It will activate automatically. For it, the transmission provides for the presence of an electromagnetic clutch, which, if necessary, allows you to connect a rear-wheel drive.

If we compare Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano based on other off-road qualities, then we can highlight several disadvantages of the "Japanese". These include excessive congestion of body kits with decorative elements. This greatly reduces the angles of entry, reducing the passability of Nissan. Therefore, if you plan to often use the car for hunting, fishing or for moving around the countryside, then Duster should be preferred.

Engines

One of the important parameters by which cars should be evaluated is engines. Both cars are equipped with power units of 1.6 liters with a capacity of 102 l / s and 2.0 liters, issuing 135 l / s. However, their settings are slightly different. But they have slightly different settings, which allow the Nissan Terrano to develop 195Nm of torque against Renault Duster with its 190Nm.

In addition, the French concern has the opportunity to equip cars with a diesel engine. Its engine displacement is 1.5 liters, which give out a power of 90 l / s. At the same time, it is very economical. Average fuel consumption is 5.3 liters per 100 kilometers.

Also, the lack of an automatic transmission in all trim levels may be a disadvantage of a car from a Japanese concern.

Outcome

If we summarize all the pros and cons, we can conclude that it is better to choose Nissan for moving in urban conditions. It has a higher dynamics, and at the same time a more elaborate appearance and interior. Renault is more designed to conquer off-road. But, in any case, before buying, it is better to order a test drive in order to independently evaluate both cars.
