The smooth running of the Nissan Teana is achieved through the use of a newly developed front suspension, as well as an upgraded rear multi-link suspension design. In combination with the high rigidity of the body, the suspension acts quite effectively in absorbing shocks from road irregularities. Separately, a few words about all-wheel drive. The All Mode 4x4 transmission with multi-plate clutch in the rear wheel drive is the same as on the X-Trail and Murano crossovers, except for the program control. The second generation Nissan Teana was introduced in 2008. The model is built on the Nissan D platform, shared with the Nissan Murano and Infiniti JX/QX60. The buttons for controlling the heated front seats hidden in the armrest are also a very controversial decision.

The basic version of the sedan was equipped with ABS, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, full power accessories, a multifunctional on-board computer, a radio with a CD changer and AUX output, four airbags, a burglar alarm and an “Intelligent Key” keyless entry system. In the top versions there is xenon, leather interior and navigation.

Engines

Nissan Teana was equipped with three gasoline aspirated. Two of them had a volume of 2.5 liters, but differed in the block design. QR25DE (167 hp) was a straight-four, and VQ25DE (182-185 hp) was a V-shaped six. The flagship 3.5-liter V6, designated VQ35DE, developed 249 hp.

All motors demonstrate exemplary reliability without showing weaknesses. The gas distribution mechanism is driven by a chain, which, as a rule, does not require attention.

Variable speed drive

Paired with engines, a Jatco CVT works: with 2.5 liters - JF011E, and with 3.5 liters - JF010E. The variator is very capricious and needs regular oil updates - at least once every 50-60 thousand km. There are cases when careful operation, coupled with regular maintenance, made it possible to drive almost 400,000 km before the first repair.

However, after 150,000 km, the likelihood of CVT failure increases significantly. A harbinger of trouble will be jerks, jerks, or twitches. Weak points are the belt, solenoids, valve body and oil pump pressure reducing valve. The differential and bearings can fail. For repairs, you will have to stock up on an impressive amount - from 60 to 100 thousand rubles. It is worth noting that the variator of models with a 3.5-liter engine is much more durable, and, as a rule, arrives for repairs much later.

Transmission

There are also all-wheel drive models on the market, which were equipped with a 4-cylinder QR25DE engine and a CVT. The proprietary all-wheel drive system “All Mode 4x4” under normal conditions transfers most of the traction to the front wheels. The rear wheels are connected by electronic command. For special cases, a mode of forced blocking of the interaxle clutch is provided, when the thrust is distributed along the axes in a ratio of 50:50.

Serious problems with the transmission have not yet been encountered. Unless, rare cases of system failures due to damage to the protective corrugation of the electrical harness, and subsequent moisture ingress.

Chassis

Suspension Nissan Tiana has a high smoothness. MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear filter out road bumps well. True, the soft suspension settings make the body roll heavily in corners.

The front suspension is not durable. Wheel bearings are the first to be handed over - after 60-100 thousand km. They change in assembly with the hub. The cost of the original is about 9,000 rubles, and the analogue is about 6,000 rubles. Rear wheel bearings run longer - more than 150-200 thousand km.

The resource of the front shock absorbers is about 100-150 thousand km. The rear racks last a little longer. A new original shock absorber will cost 15,000 rubles, an analogue is available from 3,000 rubles. Rear racks are cheaper - 5,000 and from 1,500 rubles. respectively.

Next, the front suspension arms may be asked - the silent blocks wear out. The cost of a new lever is about 10,000 rubles. The rear suspension arms are much more durable.

After 50-100 thousand km, the rear springs noticeably lose their former elasticity, and the feed sags. The disadvantage significantly reduces the already low ground clearance. New springs don't last long. Many people try to eliminate the flaw by installing spacers.

On some instances, the destruction of the rear anti-roll bar was encountered. The new stabilizer is available only in the original for 8,000 rubles.

The steering rack may leak or knock after 100-150 thousand km. A knock can also be emitted by a cross at the bottom of the steering shaft. The original is available only assembled with a shaft - about 15,000 rubles. But an option is possible with the replacement of the cross, the cost of which is only 300 rubles.

Sometimes, after 60-120 thousand km, the power steering pump began to drive oil. More often the disease occurred in winter. The cost of the original pump is 24,000 rubles, the analogue is 8,000 rubles. The high pressure hose may also be leaking.

Other problems and malfunctions

The body is not prone to corrosion, however, with the elimination of chips it is better not to pull. The paintwork is not very good quality. Often (after 2-3 years) swelling of the paint on the hood and trunk was observed. The owners were forced to repaint damaged items under warranty or at their own expense. Sometimes the chrome-plated exterior trim elements quickly deteriorated.

Over time, the front panel begins to creak in the cabin, and sometimes other interior details. Despite a decent appearance, the leather upholstery of the seats, steering wheel and gear selector is not durable. Scuffs may appear after 30-70 thousand km.

Some owners complain about the longitudinal play of the driver's seat - the rubber gasket wears out, or the gears in the seat drive break.

The heater fan motor is located before the filter. As a result, debris gets on it, and it starts to make a loud noise. To make the noise disappear, it is enough to take out the motor and remove all the debris: leaves and needles, and sometimes it is not clear where a piece of sealant has fallen out.

The motor drive of one of the dampers of the air conditioning system can also make extraneous sounds. It starts buzzing or grinding. Lubricating the motor does not always help. More often than not, it is already worn out. The manufacturer provides for the replacement of the drive unit assembly - about 5,000 rubles. However, you can find a new motor (up to 1000 rubles) and replace only it.

The second generation Nissan Teana once again demonstrates good reliability. There are only two weak points: the front suspension and the CVT. After the purchase, do not forget to refresh the oil in the transmission and set aside 60,000 rubles for its possible repair.

There is a factory navigation system. The chairs of the Nissan Teana J32 are large, comfortable, with many adjustments, seat memory. I drive alone, but when you are waiting for someone, for example, you can push the seat back and watch TV. And then with one click of a button, return all settings to their original position. Large trunk, easy stroller and other things. The salon is large, there is a lot of space, now the rear passengers do not rest their feet on the front seats. The same applies to the VIP passenger (my son), he sits in the rear right in the car seat, he has a large margin of space (the legs do not touch the front seat) and the front passenger still has quite a lot of space. Rear view camera thing! Yes, you can without it, I have enough driving experience (more than 15 years behind the wheel). But parking with it is much more convenient. The electric drive for folding mirrors, on the last car, I didn’t like to do it manually (and even when the mirrors are dirty, it’s generally tin). I have a RF assembly and a high ground clearance, which is convenient. More than enough for the city, almost on any curb where I could not call earlier on the Focus and the office BMW, I easily call on the Nissan Teana J32.

For two years of operation, the Nissan Teana J32 has run about 55 thousand km. Petersburg assembly makes itself felt. A year later, the hood bloomed, poor-quality painting, after much persuasion they painted it under warranty and pasted plastic lining. Chrome moldings are all around rusty steel. Also changed. A year later, the battery began to discharge - they replaced it (they said that it was not the first case) in some places the sealing gum did not fit snugly. Awfully not thought out air recirculation in the cabin. The windows are constantly sweating, the smell of "anti-freeze" penetrates into the cabin, as if it flows under the rugs. Climate control works well. Fuel consumption for the entire time is kept at 12 liters, both in the city and on the highway - strange. There are no complaints about the engine and chassis yet. It's not expensive. The suspension of the Nissan Teana J32 is harsh, as, indeed, of all the "Japanese". Stepless variator for an amateur. The interior is good, my skin is light, but on the driver's seat it has already cracked in one place on the side, it seems that there are artificial leather inserts. For the money, Nissan Teana J32 is a good option, but over the years I think there will be more problems.

When I first got into this car, I immediately fell in love with it and decided to buy it. I waited for Nissan Teana J32 for 2 months. I took the maximum configuration of 3.5 with a panoramic roof, a rear-view camera, and ventilation of all seats - the list is endless, the number of options is huge. I am very pleased with the car, the interior is amazing, the music (11 BOSE speakers) is excellent. In the new city, built-in navigation saves, parking helps - a rear view camera. All seats are ventilated and heated. For this money, the closest competitor of the Camry will be much easier to complete than the Nissan Teana J32. The interior is very light and comfortable.
