Two years ago, in September 2013, news appeared on our website that a ski and biathlon center with a roller ski track would appear on the territory of the Planernaya OSTC, a famous Moscow venue for cross-country skiing competitions. Then it was promised that the total length of the roller ski loops would be 10 km, but it was hard to believe that anything would be built at all. Nevertheless, the work began, and already last year the first photographs of the ascents and descents on which the rough layer of asphalt was laid appeared in the photo galleries of our website. In winter, cross-country skiing competitions were held on Planernaya, and it was clear that construction work was in full swing.

And then, completely unexpectedly, the editorial office received a call from the Vice President of the Federation biathlon of the city of Moscow, one of the initiators of construction, chief sports technology specialist, project manager of the ski-biathlon complex and roller ski track at the Planernaya OSSC Konstantin Anatolyevich Tsarev.

He offered to come to Planernaya and not only see, but also independently test the track, on which fine asphalt had already been laid, and which was being prepared for opening in the very near future. And this is what Konstantin Anatolyevich told about the route:

Konstantin Tsarev: “We had no room for error, since we simply don’t have the money to redo anything in the layout of the complex”

The very idea of creating a modern ski and biathlon complex in Moscow and in the immediate Moscow region that meets all the requirements has been discussed for a very long time. Having a developed network of children's and youth sports schools in biathlon (1500 people) and a tendency towards dynamic growth in those involved in pneumatic biathlon and an order of magnitude more involved in cross-country skiing and roller skiing, Moscow athletes officially do not have their own training and competition base. A striking example of this is the Moscow Biathlon Championship, which is currently being held in Smolensk. Over the years, the Moscow Biathlon Federation made five proposals for the creation of a complex on the territory of Moscow. In the Moscow region, construction projects were considered in the city of Krasnogorsk and the village. Levkovo, but, unfortunately, none of them could be implemented - the land is too expensive and there are technical difficulties with organizing shooting safety. On Planernaya, all the key components came together successfully. The Olympic training and sports center "Planernaya" is located just 6 kilometers from Moscow in the Khimki Urban District. Developed infrastructure, excellent terrain for both skiers and biathletes. For the first time in the history of biathlon, an unsupported 110-meter cable-stayed (on fixed supports on the right and left sides of the shooting range with stretched cables) bullet interception design has been developed in accordance with the safety requirements of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, allowing a free view of the target line for both spectators, athletes participating in the competition, and that important for television. The proximity of Sheremetyevo Airport adds to the attractiveness of this center with the prospect of hosting all-Russian and international competitions.

I would like to express my deep gratitude for mutual understanding, a promising vision for the further development of the sports center of trade unions and financial support for the construction of the Moscow Federation of Trade Unions: Chairman Sergei Ivanovich Chernov, General Director of the Planernaya OSCC Eleonora Ashotovna Panova and many people and organizations who assisted in the implementation of this project. For many years, Planernaya was a ski mecca: it hosted national championships, All-Russian competitions, and such large public races as the Moscow Ski Track, Cross of the Nation, the marathon of skiing legends named after Kuzin and Baranova, and many other competitions. The construction of the first stage of the roller ski track project will be a good gift for Planernaya, which celebrates its 80th anniversary on October 14, 2015.

I started working on project documentation three years ago. At this stage, an organizing committee was formed, which brought together parties interested in the project. It included: MFP, FIPM. OUSC "Planernaya" Moscow Biathlon Federation, Moscow Cross-Country Skiing Federation, Moscow Region Biathlon Federation, Federal State Budgetary Institution "Federal Center for Sports Reserve Training". This alliance confirmed the correctness of the chosen line, the intentions of the sports federations regarding the prospect of using the ski and biathlon complex to train the reserve after the completion of construction. Organization and conduct of training sessions and competitions. But, unfortunately, he did not guarantee financial investments in the project. The main financial burden fell on the shoulders of the Moscow Federation of Trade Unions and the Planernaya OSCC. At the design stage, only the Moscow Biathlon Federation provided financial assistance.

In my sports career, I had the opportunity to work as a coach in the golden USSR biathlon team with an amazing coaching staff led by A.V. Privalov, A.I. Tikhonov. Ierusalimsky V.V. Khovantsev A.N., Ramensky G.M. With the first President of the Russian Biathlon Union E.P. Novikov. While working as a coach in the Russian national shooting team, I was lucky enough to work under the leadership of E.I. Polikanin, who headed the Russian Shooting Union for many decades and was one of the first senior officers. coaches during the formation of the Soviet biathlon team.

Having repeatedly traveled as part of national teams to the Olympic Games, World and European Championships, I had the opportunity not only to participate in sports forums, but also to get acquainted with the sports arenas of the world with my own eyes. During that period, in different countries and in many regions of Russia, new projects of biathlon centers and shooting ranges were being modernized and actively created. There was a unique opportunity to personally communicate with technical delegates and world biathlon specialists. This experience was very useful during the period of responsible decision-making on the creation of a ski and biathlon complex project on Planernaya.

During my search for a design organization in 2012, I was very lucky. I met Averintsev Fedor Borisovich, who worked as chief engineer at the Stroyarchitecture company (design of ski slopes, general director Korsi V.E.). It turned out that in the past Fedor Borisovich worked for many years at SOYUZSPORTPROEKT. He participated in the work on projects of many sports facilities, such as: a sports ski base in the Ukrainian Tysovets, jumps in Nizhny Tagil, Krasnaya Polyana in Sochi, etc. He accepted the offer to work together in the design of a ski-biathlon complex and a roller ski track with sincere professionalism. with enthusiasm and immediately became my colleague in the embodiment of our common beautiful idea. The fusion of sports experience and extensive sports design practice gave a positive result. Although the joint work on the project was not easy: the planning and linking of tracks and objects to the relief and terrain, the presence of many sports at the base, especially the difficult coordination of ski and horse riding tracks with the presence of special obstacles for horse jumping. I think that few people have ever designed such options. I remember that Alexander Ivanovich Tikhonov proposed holding an equestrian biathlon. Now this is really possible to do. We argued a lot, consulted, reviewed and studied projects of various complexes, and looked for solutions.

Stadium layout

Our sincere friends provided us with great practical assistance: Master of Sports of the USSR in cross-country skiing Koshelev V.V., Master of Sports of international class Virolainen R., Master of Sports Shchepetkin A., Honored Trainer of Russia Reztsov L.V., Honored Trainer of Russia Khovantsev A. .N., Technical delegate IBU from Slovenia Janis Vodichar, RRF specialist Melikhov V.I. specialists in homolagation of ski slopes FLGR Arsenyev A.I., Belomestnov, I.V., participant in the bullet interception project Paramonov B.V., Klimshin D., and many other specialists involved in the project.

We spent about a year “nursing” the hinges in order to understand how and where to place everything, taking into account the further phased continuation of construction. You may need to add something without confusing yourself. Many solutions had to be developed during construction, making adjustments and sometimes changes to the project, which entailed heated debates at all levels. Initially, the project provided for a route length of 2.5 km, an asphalt width of 4.5 m. Then the asphalt width was changed to 6 m, and in winter it will be 9 m - according to the rules. Added additional cuts. And this, of course, is an additional expense. We realized that if you do not initially set the maximum width, then it will be much more difficult to change something later. The penalty loop was moved. Working together in real construction conditions, sometimes you have to adapt even the best design. Changes in contractors, site foremen, equipment, and staff turnover often led to persistent disputes. As soon as you get used to people, they leave, and with new ones it’s all over again. They constantly proved to the contractor’s builders (who had no experience in sports construction) that this is exactly what should be done, they gave arguments for the correctness of their decisions, checked them many times, demanding their implementation, and again convinced: “We are not building a country road for a cart, but a technically complex one, a roller ski track with serious terrain and a special profile, which must be safe on high-speed descents and turns.” There were other demands that also led to debate and controversy. It really didn’t go to extremes... Eleonora Ashotovna, the director of the base, held us back. The slightest inaccuracy in the technical execution of construction work can lead to serious consequences. In addition to the technical safety measures provided for by the project, an additional set of organizational measures on the route still needs to be thought through so that there are no accidents.

Much preliminary work had to be done in the field of geodesy and geological surveys, as well as on drainage, already having information about the complexity of the soils. At the same time, on the site for the shooting range, we practically discovered a treasure in the form of sand deposits, which saved us the cost of filling the base of the roller ski! The glider is all in the hills, and streams of water cut the roadsides and wash away the asphalt. Two rainstorms in the summer completely cut the slope, roadsides and asphalt. I had to restore everything again. So the drainage system had to be modified; The slopes and roadsides were additionally reinforced with geogrid, storm drains were concreted, and drainage ditches were dug and filled with coarse gravel. We tried to catch the water and divert it away from the highway. It seems to have worked out. Spring will show how everything was done correctly.

While working on the construction of the tracks and the underground passage from the stands to the shooting range, which runs under the starting field of the stadium (one of the elements necessary for holding international competitions), they dug up everything that was possible: the slopes, the track, the shooting range. Many sections of the route were refilled, the route was raised by 4-5 meters, without any room for error, because... it's very expensive. Budget, you understand. We do not have the same opportunities as in Khanty-Mansiysk or Tyumen. We moved approximately 250,000 cubic meters of heavy clay soil, water, mud and sand off-road. Sometimes, when I once again came to the construction site, gloomy thoughts came to me that we would never overcome such a scale of devastation, created by ourselves. But we must pay tribute to the confidence of the builders, the director of the base and the chief. project engineer F.B. Averintsev in a positive outcome. Step by step, sometimes with a small number of equipment and people, we still moved towards the goal. It was even necessary to provide for a temporary change in the route in winter to accommodate the many thousands of participants in the Moscow Ski Track and many other innovations, while at the same time covering the route with a rough layer of asphalt. Already in the spring, the track was tested on roller skis by an international master of sports in cross-country skiing, Roman Virolainen, and a master of sports, Ilya Yambaev, on a rough layer of asphalt concrete pavement. In difficult and questionable sections, adjustments were made to the profile of the track based on the results of the races. Afterwards, the starting field was already tested by athletes from the children's and youth sports school for biathlon No. 43. Already in the fall, on the final surface, the track was comprehensively tested by the master of sports in cross-country skiing Alexey Shchepetkin.

We planned to do everything in stages. Having started laying the top final layer of asphalt concrete pavement in the spring, we were faced with the difficulty of laying the mixture on the highway, because In the practice of road construction, there are no such large transverse slopes on bends. The asphalt in these places slid down unevenly and was torn by transverse cracks. There was a lot of arguing in search of a solution. Either the mixture is of poor quality (I consulted with many specialists from the regions), it is different everywhere, or the asphalt paver is like that, perhaps there are problems at the stage of preparing to compact the base of the route. The concern is that in winter melt water will penetrate into these small cracks and crevices, freeze and burst the asphalt surface. There are few such areas. Based on experience and having information about the construction of roller ski trails in other regions, some shortcomings (“snowdrops”) always appear at such facilities after the winter period and abundant snow melting. Let's hope for a favorable outcome. By mutual agreement with the contractor, we signed a warranty agreement for three years.

Counter slope and drainage system after the first descent from the ski base

There is still a lot to be done in the next stages of construction. The concept of a project for an artificial snowmaking system with water supply from the Skhodnya River has already been worked out. In several places under the route, passage pipes have already been laid for laying the pipeline to the hydrants. A lighting project for the stadium and roller ski track has been developed taking into account the requirements of the IBU and television. We also need an information board, waxing booths, weapon rooms for teams, a front stand on the hillside, an office building with commentary booths, and parking lots. We even plan to create a museum of biathlon and ski racing, as well as much more for a full-fledged modern and such a beautiful ski and biathlon complex. We have thought through all these positions and are gradually building them into the project. Currently, work remains to be completed on the construction of the finishing overpass and bullet interception at the shooting range. You need to mark the road. The roller ski track has not yet been put into operation. I hope that at the beginning of October we will open for training of skiers and biathletes. In any case, it is already autumn, and there is an opportunity to continue work on the design of the above objects. And there is still an important test ahead - winter and spring.

The flat part of the route and the future finishing overpass. The roller ski track runs right underneath it.

During the construction of the complex, the “Walk of Fame for Ski Racing and Biathlon” was founded. Stars and legends of the ski and biathlon teams of the USSR and Russia from different periods took part in the planting of blue spruce trees. A large-scale model of the complex was presented for general discussion. During the presentation of the project, the President of the Russian Biathlon Union Alexander Mikhailovich Kravtsov and two-time Olympic champion Olga Zaitseva professionally assessed and spoke positively for its implementation.

Many famous athletes planted spruce trees on the Walk of Fame: Lyubov Baranova, Alexander Privalov, Nikolai Zimyatov and many, many others

Having visited Planernaya, the executive director of the SBR Kostin S.V., the head coach of the Russian national biathlon team Kasperovich A.V. and many other coaches of the Russian national team also positively assessed the project itself to create a biathlon complex at the Planernaya OSTC with excellent terrain and good infrastructure and interested in the speedy progress of its implementation. At the same time, the prospect of using the base while the national teams were in Moscow, the possibility of organizing the storage of weapons in the weapons room at the base, various equipment and supplies, organizing short training camps and meeting and sending teams from Sheremetyevo Airport, which is located 15 minutes from Planernaya . And the center of Russian national teams “Novogorsk” is within walking distance. I hope for a positive search for ways to provide financial support to promote the project from interested investors, organizations and heads of ministries and departments.

In the pearl necklace of Russian biathlon centers, the ski and biathlon complex on Planernaya, located almost within the golden-domed capital of our homeland, Moscow, with a population of more than 15 million people and the no less significant Moscow region, comparable in territory to many European countries, can take its rightful place.

Route testing.

The track was tested by me, Andrey Krasnov, and my wife Yulia, MSMK in cross-country skiing. We have quite a lot of experience training on roller ski slopes, not only in Russia, but also in Europe. Among others, we trained on tracks in Golovino, Odintsovo, Ostrov, Rybinsk, Voronezh, Otepää, Vuokatti, Tysovets, Belmeken, Zakopane, Val di Dentro, Oberwiesenthal and many others. For training I took classic ElpexTeam 610 roller skis with 3 wheels, and Yulia took Marwe skate skis with 6 wheels.

The length of the route is 2.5 km. The route has two serious climbs to the base and one gentle climb to the shooting range, which is located in the ravine to the right of the old starting clearing. In the ravine along which the first climb at the Kuzin-Baranova marathon has taken place in recent years. I climbed two steep climbs alternately, one of them - the first on the circuit, if you count from the shooting range - was very long, working. There are simply no analogues to this rise in the Moscow region. You can compare this climb with the “trainer” climb in Ostrov or the big climb in Demino, but both of them are inferior to it in length. The descents are safe and clearly visible. Turns on descents are smooth, which allows you to take them almost without feeling the centrifugal force. Both I and Yulia took all turns along the inner edge without feeling any problems.

There is a shortcut on the route with an equipped counter-slope immediately after the shooting range. Children can ride on it - the length of the circle in this case will be 1 km. Thus, two steep ascents and two descents are eliminated from the route. At the shooting range itself, at the far end, there is a short, about five meters, but quite steep climb. There is one more shortcut: right after the big climb from the shooting range to the ski lodge. The quality of the asphalt is good, poles stick into it well, and it is quite dense. The only thing that confused me were the microcracks on the surface of the track. At the moment they do not interfere with skiing at all, but it is quite possible that in the future they may grow and the track will be spoiled. However, Konstantin Anatolyevich assured that he was aware of this problem and had already written comments to the contractor, with which he agreed.

In general, the impressions from skiing and from the complex are the most positive. Another roller ski track is appearing in the immediate vicinity of Moscow, on which, unlike Odintsovo, half the population of the million-strong city will not be walking. The place is quiet, calm and, most importantly, prayed for by skiers. We look forward to the opening, which will take place in the very near future, which will be announced separately on our website.

We bring to your attention a brief overview of the ski slopes in Moscow and the surrounding Moscow region. Our attention was drawn to the best tracks for skiers created in the capital region of Russia.

Don't know where to ski?

We'll tell you. Read the article and you will learn about the best places where you can safely run on the ski track with skating, classic or any other move. Whichever one suits you or is most familiar to you.

It is the skiers who need the steepness of the spurs. They are limited in the choice of route and are firmly tied to the mountain slopes. And to get to the start, skiers and snowboarders will need a cable car. The thing is expensive and useful. Only moneybags who own resorts located in the spurs of mountain ranges can build such a thing. Amateurs with high incomes can afford to visit such places.

Places suitable for regular skiers

When the snow falls on the ground and reliably covers it with a white blanket, lovers of active recreation can go cross-country skiing in almost any area. But it’s still more pleasant to walk on a pre-prepared ski track.

Skiers with experience get together and organize friendly meetings, as a rule, in two or three favorite places. Where you can easily get to with your car and leave it there in a guarded parking lot.

But where to go for those who have just bought skis, poles, a suit, a hat, gloves and, most importantly, boots from our online store? Where can you test yourself on the ski track?

We will take the liberty and suggest the places that, from our point of view, are best prepared for comfortable skiing in Moscow. The paths of which are laid through beautiful natural landscapes.

So. Go?

Krasnogorsk

According to a study conducted by studying the reviews of cross-country skiing enthusiasts, the ski track in Krasnogorsk is considered the best place. The track is constantly maintained in proper condition, regardless of the dates of sports competitions.

Monitoring the condition of the route, replete with a large number of loops and laid along clearings, is carried out by multiple champion of skiing I. S. Utrobin. The dense forest area protects skiers in bad weather with chilly winds. The absence of loitering individuals from among the local residents is an additional argument in favor of the described route.

Convenient topographical location with the possibility of access by transport along the Volokolamsk and Novorizhskoe highways and free parking add another argument in favor of our proposal.

There are places at the ski lodge where you can change clothes. Rent a locker for clothes. Take a shower and visit the toilet.

In second position in the ranking is Odintsovo.

The track itself is in constant “combat readiness”, but the inconvenient location and lack of comfortable service lowers the “image” of the park area for cross-country or cross-country skiing.

People are forced to change clothes in the interiors of their cars. He leaves his cars in the parking lot near the military hospital and goes on foot to the ski slope, which is laid along the former path where roller skiers train in the summer.

The length of the ski track is just over six kilometers. In winter, additional loops are trampled. Thanks to them, it becomes possible to draw different options for routes along the route.

In third place we have Bitsevsky Park

It is located 101 kilometers away. Just opposite the Yasenevo microdistrict. Members of the Alfa-Bitsa club took responsibility for the preparation, condition and geometry of the track. You can park your car on their premises for a reasonable fee.

Access is from the Moscow Ring Road, after the 37th kilometer sign, behind the bus stop.

The club has hospitable staff. You can always resolve issues with him, where to change clothes and entrust something for storage.

This place is popular with peddlers. Entrepreneurs are happy to organize outdoor trade of sportswear and accessories from trays and pavilions.

A convenient location and a high-quality, well-prepared ski track attracts many skiers to Bitsevsky Park, especially on weekends and holidays.

Also in Bitsevsky Park, in the immediate vicinity of the Anino microdistrict, there are also several ski slopes. But they were prepared by the forces of the Anin SDYUSSHOR. People come here to ski here in groups and alone. Cars are parked wherever they can find a place.

Next base - Glider

Here the ski track is perfectly prepared in a large and complex circle. But only on the eve of the competition. There is a store and a locker room, a workshop and other services. A large parking lot is provided for parking.

But getting here is problematic. Due to the constant and excessive congestion of the Leningradskoye Highway by vehicles. Public transport is also not able to simplify the problem of delivering skiers to Planernoe.

Track at the Medic stadium in Romashkovo

There are always circles ready here, 3-5-10-15 km long. For running with classic or skating strokes. The ski track is laid in the forest, among the trees. Do you want to go for a run and breathe in the healing air? Then come here.

You can change clothes in the locker room at the Medik stadium. Then cross the Moscow Ring Road and you are on the ski slope. It runs over rough terrain and requires runners to have certain athletic training. But beginners will easily find a place on the plain where they can draw their circles.

Let's tell you a little more about Krylatsky

Despite the fact that there are no pre-prepared trails here, many people come to ski near Romashkovo. The races are held along a bicycle ring.

Nobody prepares a track especially for skiers, but the circular cycling track is often well-trodden, and this allows skiers with good physical fitness (due to the difference in altitude) to jog almost at any time of the day. Because the administration of the MKR does not save on lighting the territory under its jurisdiction, and some of it goes to the ski slope.

The administration of the Lata-Track sports complex, the owner of the cycling circle, promised that in the 2015/16 season they would prepare the track for skiers in December. They also expressed hope that they would host skiing competitions.

Cars can be parked on Krylatskaya Street, opposite the Ice Stadium, directly at the entrance to the cycle track. Most lovers of active leisure activities do this.

But there is another good, but secluded place through which you can immediately get to the territory of the sports complex to wash, change clothes, have a snack or a delicious lunch in a cafe - this is if you stop by the Romashkovo microdistrict on the street. Krylatsky hills, and opposite house number 9, between the garages, there is an entrance to the cycle track. This is where you turn.

From here you can get excellent skiing, right to the small circle. Physically strong skiers are not prohibited from running throughout the entire territory of the Lata-Trek sports complex.

The eternal problem in these places is the residents of Krylatskoye. They love to walk around the territory themselves and with their children. Often with dogs of different morals and upbringing. There have been cases when both cyclists and skiers had to fight off not only our smaller brothers, but also their owners.

The last position in our rating is Troitsk

The only cross-country ski track where it was specially equipped with a lighting line is the city circle. Local authorities, may the years of their reign last, found reserves and were able to please adherents of a healthy lifestyle with illumination at night. What ensured unprecedented safety conditions for ski races.

To get to the ski track, you need to drive along the Moscow Ring Road, turn onto Kaluga Highway, and after fifteen kilometers turn right in the village of Vatutinki, after the traffic light. Use your GPS navigator and enter your final destination, microdistrict “B”. In MKR, in order not to get lost, ask the taxi drivers: “How to get to the ski slope?”

Here they take the preparation of the ski tracks responsibly. The most important thing, as we wrote above, is that it is perfectly lit from evening until morning. The circle is laid out on the plain. This is two kilometers through the forest!

Be sure to take a trip to Troitsk. You will not regret.

To write about all the ski slopes in Moscow and the surrounding Moscow region in one article is unrealistic. There are a lot of places where ski tracks are trodden. We told you only about a small, but significant in skiing circles, a fraction of similar trails and paths for true ski lovers.

Roller ski track named after. Larisa Lazutina in Odintsovo appeared in 2002 on the territory of the Northern Bypass. It was named in honor of a native of this town near Moscow - a world-famous skier, multiple world and Olympic champion, who initiated the construction of this facility.

Description of the route

The track is part of a sports park and is located in a very picturesque corner of the Podushkinsky forest. Its starting area is dominated by coniferous trees, which are then replaced by mixed species. Inside the six and a half kilometer long roller ski circle is the Saminka River. The terrain along the entire route is uneven. There are more or less flat sections, and there are slopes with various slopes, steep ascents and descents with turns.

The track is perfect for cycling, and in the cold season it turns into a ski track. Hikers also come here to enjoy nature, clean air and pleasant company. The territory on which the object is located belongs to a mound complex with burials of the Vyatichi of the 11th-13th century, which also attracts people interested in history.

The infrastructure of the route is quite developed. There is artificial lighting and special markings. At the start there are houses with changing rooms. Here you can rent equipment and get other services (food, drinks, etc.). Free parking is available for clients. The place is very cozy, clean, civilized. The noise from the bypass road does not reach here.

Famous athletes of the country improve their skills on the track, but it is not officially considered a training base. Anyone can enjoy cycling or skiing here. Various competitions are regularly held on the site.

Roller ski track (Odintsovo): how to get there?

You can get to the “Lazutinskaya” (as it is popularly called) highway from Moscow by car along the Minskoye Highway, turning at Odintsovo onto the Mozhaiskoye Highway, and then, already in the city, onto Krasnogorskoye. The latter will only take you 2.5 km.

Another option: take a train from the capital to Odintsovo, where you take minibus No. 46 (get off at the Verkhneye Otradnoe stop) or cover the 3 km of the journey on your own (by bicycle).

Have a nice holiday!

Very close to Moscow, in the Podushkinsky forest just north of Odintsovo, there is a great place for cycling, rollerblading and/or skiing - the Odintsovo roller ski track. It was opened 10 years ago, in September 2002, on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the city of Odintsovo. The route is a closed six-kilometer asphalt road laid in a picturesque mixed forest.

2. People call the roller ski track “Lazutinskaya” after the name of the famous skier Larisa Lazutina, who initiated its construction.

3. The total length of the route is 6 kilometers; the route has long descents and fairly steep, but not long, ascents. The width of the route is 4 meters.

4. The height difference is about 50 meters. The total height difference is about 150 meters. On some slopes you can easily reach speeds of over 50 km/h.

5. The track is a favorite place for skiers, roller skiers and cyclists. Sports competitions are regularly held on the roller ski track: “Manzhosovskaya Ski Track”, “Watermelon Cross” and others.

6. You can often meet hikers, but during athletes’ training this can be extremely dangerous. Officially, the track is not considered a sports facility, so there are no rules prohibiting walking.

7. For example, on September 6, 2008, an accident occurred on the highway - a cyclist killed a woman who was walking along the highway with her husband and dog. This happened on one of the steep slopes, the man and the dog moved to the side, and the woman became confused and began to rush around the track. As a result, a collision occurred, the woman hit her head on the asphalt and died before the ambulance arrived.

8. There is one-way traffic on the highway; cyclists and roller skaters adhere to it, which cannot be said about irresponsible pedestrians. Not to mention the fact that walking dogs on the highway is prohibited, as warned by a few signs.

9. Until October 2011, the roller ski track had the status of “Forest road for fire-fighting and forestry purposes,” which imposed significant restrictions on its further improvement and development. Now the route has been transferred to the jurisdiction of the city of Odintsovo for recreational activities.

10. In the near future, artificial lighting, a ski stadium, areas for snowboarding and alpine skiing, and much more will appear on the track. They also plan to build several jumpers on the route, which will allow you to diversify the length of the distance.

11. There are markings on the route every kilometer of the route and 500 meters before the finish. For training on the track, it is highly recommended to have a helmet due to the high speeds and dangerous turns. The most dangerous places are the high-speed right turn on the descent (3.5 km mark) and the sharp left turn at the end of the descent (5 km mark).

12. GPS coordinates of the route: N55.6910 E37.2568. Getting to the track is very easy. From Moscow by car along the Minskoe Highway until the turn to Odintsovo (Mozhaiskoe Highway), then in the city turn right at the sign for Krasnogorskoe Highway. After 2.5 kilometers you will be there. By public transport, it is better to take the Belorussian train to the Odintsovo platform. From there, go on your own (3 km, only for cyclists) or take minibus 46 to the “Verkhnee Otradnoe” stop.

13. Near the highway there is a free parking lot (for at least 50 cars) and garbage containers (on the highway itself there are garbage bags without trash cans). Serious road construction is now underway near the highway; a northern bypass of the city of Odintsovo is being built - an expressway bypassing the city. A multi-level interchange is planned right at the car parking site. I would like to hope that such a close location of the highway will not spoil the atmosphere of the route.

14. Scheme of the Larisa Lazutina roller ski track

I highly recommend the cycling route to anyone who has never been there before. The picturesque forest road allows you to enjoy the surrounding views and does not bother you with occasional climbs. Just don’t forget mosquito repellent if you plan to make stops, there are a lot of them in the forest.
