The tire shop "Pokryshka.ru" presents to your attention the rating of the best-selling summer tires, which the buyers of our store have chosen, choosing them from 385 models presented on the site. Statistics were collected for the period from November 2015 to March 2016. Please note that traditionally TOP-10 tires are compiled automatically, that is, based on sales results, and not on the basis of an analysis of the general market and not according to the results of tests of car magazines. Please also note that after this article was written (March 1, 2016), the demand for summer tires has increased significantly and the ranking positions may have changed.

It is worth noting that in the ranking of summer tires there are no new summer 2016 models, because few people know about them yet and their sales have not yet reached such results as to enter the top twenty. Expensive tires of well-known brands may not enter the TOP, since they have small sales volumes due to their high cost.

We choose

summer tires

from the middle price segment

Recently, the range of summer tires in the mid-price category has expanded. Here is some of them.

Continental ContiPremiumContact 5

This tire has generated the best of Continental's models. The new tread pattern with powerful shoulder grooves has shortened stopping distances and reduced the risks of aquaplaning. This model confidently takes first place in many summer tire tests. Here are its main advantages:

  • tread with blocks of different rigidity provides reliable control over movement and directional stability;
  • shoulder zones with three-dimensional sipes shorten braking distances even at high speeds and increase controllability;
  • wide longitudinal grooves quickly drain water and reduce aquaplaning;
  • it was possible to achieve a significant reduction in rolling resistance, which increased the level of comfort;
  • the addition of effective polymers to the rubber compound increased tire mileage.

Bridgestone Turanza T001

The new model of this company surpasses its predecessor in many respects. But the most spectacular innovation is the use of resonator grooves in the tread, which significantly reduced the noise level when driving. There are other pluses:

  • Rigid outer ribs of the tread increase control accuracy on any surface;
  • reinforced cord gives stability on bends and improves lateral stability;
  • the use of unique silica reduces rolling resistance and contributes to a shorter braking distance.

Budget summer tires 2016

These tires prove by their appearance: cheap does not mean bad.

Kumho Solus KH 17

Inexpensive tires with low noise levels and decent traction. They can quickly adapt to any type of road surface and various climatic conditions. They have the following advantages:

  • rubber compound and tread pattern significantly reduce noise and increase mileage.

Matador MP 16 Stella 2

The new generation of tires from this company has good grip properties, which ensure a safe and comfortable ride. This is especially evident on roads with poor coverage. They also have other advantages:

  • the addition of a special silicone component to rubber reduces rolling resistance and improves grip;
  • high environmental performance;
  • low noise level.

By choosing the right tires for your car, you will ensure a safe and comfortable driving on any kind of road surface in all weather conditions.

The budget car niche is now quite densely filled with 15-inch tires. Therefore, we decided to choose them for the Behind the Wheel 2016 test, limiting the price from 2100 to 3400 rubles, choosing for this tires of popular models.

Tires were tested back in August last year at a training ground in the Samara region. For this, we had to collect the new items of the 2016 season. A total of 12 models were tested, of which 7 are imported.

It should be noted that the test results had minimal variation, i.e. there was no huge run-up between grades. This suggests that the level of competition and technology has recently leveled off.

Modern summer tires do not require running-in. This is confirmed by all manufacturers: before the tests, it is enough to drive a couple of kilometers - and they are ready for testing. So for summer tires, not only the procedure, but the very expression "running in" is an anachronism. The sequence of test exercises is built taking into account the intensity of tire wear. We start with an assessment of efficiency, which is practically not accompanied by wear and tear, and end with a "dry" rearrangement, during which the asphalt peels off the shoulder areas of the tires like emery. Investigation of the behavior of a car at high speed is what we call Evaluation of Vehicle Stability. A few laps along the ten-kilometer high-speed ring of the polygon at a speed of 130 km / h is enough to understand how clearly the tires hold a given direction, how they react to side winds and road slopes, how they behave when avoiding obstacles and changing lanes. Simultaneously, we evaluate the smoothness and internal noise at high speed. Why 130 km / h? So after all, in our country, the maximum possible permissible, established on some sections of toll roads. In addition, on most highways, the Rules allow you to keep 110, and if you add the "free" 20 km / h excess, you get the same 130 km / h. No, no, we are not for violation of the speed limit - but after all, many people drive this way, don't they? The Michelin tires received the highest marks for directional stability - the steering wheel of the Skoda shod in them became very clear, with a well-understood "zero". I liked the immediate response to steering turns and the high information content when adjusting the course.

When the tires and drivetrain are thoroughly warmed up, the vehicle is ready for a fuel economy assessment. The result of each measurement is the arithmetic mean of the values obtained in two races in opposite directions (to neutralize the possible influence of the wind). For each set of tires, the exercise has to be repeated from three times (with complete calm) to five (in case of a light breeze).

Measurements are carried out in descending order - first at high speed, then at low speed. Thanks to this, the tires and transmission cool down smoothly and the measurement results jump less.

In recent years, the majority of tires have had equally good fuel economy figures. However, the second generation Hakka Green did the impossible - at a speed of 60 km / h, they provided fuel savings of 0.1-0.3 l / 100 km relative to the rest of the tires. A real green tire!

Having finished with economy, we make a circle along the service roads. Here, on road irregularities, we once again evaluate the smoothness of the ride and the noise level in the cabin - in more severe conditions, as close as possible to real ones.

In these exercises, the Kumho tires showed themselves not the best side against the background of others: at a speed of 90-100 km / h they emit a low-frequency rumble, on road irregularities shaking and vibrations annoy.

Before returning to the base, we taxied on a 12% dirt rise, imitating a summer cottage road. Here we subjectively assess the ability of the tires to start and accelerate on a dirt road (with dust and sand). The exercise is somewhat reminiscent of the assessment of passability in deep snow: the expert tries to move and accelerate with and without slipping; checks how much the traction drops when slipping, whether it is difficult to control the moment of wheel breakdown into slipping.

Let me remind you that the "ground test" is optional, its results are not included in the overall standings, but are provided only as additional information. We introduced it into the test program at the request of readers who were interested in the capabilities of tires on unpaved roads.

Wet business

The next test is braking on wet asphalt, because on it, especially with ABS, the tires wear out minimally.

We begin the test ... by stripping the coating. We carry out a dozen or a half of braking on non-scoring tires - thus, carefully sweeping the asphalt, removing dust, grass and very small stones swept by the wind from it. After such a procedure, the asphalt becomes clean, and the coefficient of adhesion is stable.

According to the method used today by both tire manufacturers and independent experts, we measure the braking distance on wet asphalt when decelerating from 80 to 5 km / h - since at speeds close to zero, the ABS does not work correctly, sometimes allowing the wheels to lock, which leads to distortion of results. Many tire companies set a different minimum threshold for internal tests - they finish measuring at 7-10 km / h.

To get heaps of results, it is important not only to start braking at the same point, but also to approach it at the same speed. We keep 83-85 km / h - not by the speedometer, but by the high-precision measuring device VBOX. The braking corridor should be very narrow - braking is literally trail after trail. This is extremely important: a dozen centimeters (only half the tread width) to the side - and the surface has a different coefficient of adhesion, which means that the result floats away.

Before braking, the tester must be sure that the brakes are cold, which means that their effectiveness is maximized. Therefore, after each measurement, the pads and discs must be cooled - when returning to the starting position, the driver does not use the brakes. The average number of brakes is six. Sometimes, if the tires show unstable results, you have to add a couple more runs.

Continental tires, as usual, "brought" the closest rivals about a meter of saved braking distance. But what was our surprise when the new Hakka Green tires beat them by almost the same amount.

Moving on to more wearable exercises. The first is braking on dry asphalt. The technique is essentially the same as on wet, but we brake from 100 km / h - accordingly, the speed of approach to the braking point is 103-105 km / h. for the subsequent cooling of the brakes, it is necessary to make a larger circle.

In this exercise, I was pleased with the stability of the Continental - for many years in our tests it consistently brakes better than others. Nokian came close to the leader, but could not get up level - the loss was meager 100 millimeters. A Michelin upset - showed the weakest braking properties both on dry asphalt and wet.

In conclusion, the most interesting and indicative, but at the same time the most difficult test for the pilot: the changeover, which is also called a single lane change. The driver's task is to find the maximum possible speed at which the car will successfully perform a maneuver and stay on a given trajectory, that is, it will not knock down any of the cones that mark the entrance and exit corridors. The races begin with a deliberately passing speed, and with each subsequent approach, it is increased by 1-2 km / h. It is not just the best result that counts, but the one that can be repeated.

On the one hand, this exercise is taken from real life - there are so many fans on our roads to fuss between the rows! On the other hand, it allows you to evaluate the lateral grip and drift characteristics of tires, the ability of the carcass to withstand sharply increasing, literally peak lateral loads and steering precision during extreme maneuvering.

The geometrical parameters of the rearrangement are also not sucked out of the finger - the width of the strips is 3.5 meters, as on a real road. But on the first lane, the "track" is clamped by cones so that on each side the car has a margin of no more than 100 millimeters. This forces the tester to use the same path at the input. The length of the transition from the left lane to the right is 12 meters. GOST for car testing regulates 12-, 16-, 20- and 24-meter rearrangements. And the maximum lateral load on the tires is provided by the 12-meter one.

First, a rearrangement is performed on wet asphalt, and at the end of the curtain we repeat this exercise on a dry surface, where the tires get more than in total in all the previous exercises.

On the wet road, the updated Nokian Hakka Green tires turned out to be ahead of the rest both in speed and controllability, Continental tires were very close in terms of the maximum speed of the rearrangement, but in terms of handling they were noticeably inferior. We got the most interesting results on dry asphalt - here the best speed (68.2 km / h) was simultaneously shown by three tires: Amtel, Continental and Nokian, and the result of Kumho (68.1 km / h) is only one tenth more modest.

Kuchno got up!

Perhaps the best way to start the epilogue is to congratulate the winner of the test, and these are Nokian Hakka Green 2 tires. Nevertheless, all the tires that took part in the tests pleasantly surprised us.

First, we were pleased with the accuracy of the final results. The tires in the last seven places have a difference in final points of less than two percent! In fact, this is close to the measurement error. Secondly, all tires have shown themselves to be very worthy, despite the fact that their prices are more or less affordable.

Let us remind you once again about our system of final grades. Tires that have scored more than 850 points are what we call good, 870 or more points are very good, and those that have crossed the 900 mark are excellent. In the current test, no one dropped below 870 points! Seven test participants have very good results, five - excellent.

The most pleasant thing is to see inexpensive "Russians" as excellent students - Nordman SX tires and the reviving Amtel Planet Evo. For times of crisis - the most tempting offers

Bonus - tire test from a German magazine

The classic tire size 205/55 R16 is one of the most popular tire sizes for compact cars such as VW Golf, Audi A3 and Mercedes A-Class. Behind the wheel I tested 18 summer tires of this size. During the test, both environmentally friendly and Comfort segment tires were tested. which were presented with eco-friendly tires and comfort options. Six test candidates were rated “good”, twelve “fair”.

The 205/55 R 16 tires are among the most popular summer tire sizes. Therefore, for testing Behind the Wheel 2016, 18 tire models of this particular standard size were selected. The top six models belong to the Premium segment and are rated a solid four in the driving test. The peculiarity of this summer tire test is that two different tire models of the same brand had to compete with each other. One option was from the Eco segment, the other from Comfort. On the wet road Eco models showed themselves weaker than the tire of the same manufacturer in the Comfort segment. The indicators of environmental friendliness and efficiency of Eco tires, on the other hand, turned out to be insignificant.

Bridgestone Ecopia EP001S and Hankook Kinergy Eco showed the lowest fuel consumption, that is, the fuel economy was evident, but in comparison with the corresponding model in the Comfort segment, the difference was only 0.3 l / 100 km. Comparing the wear rates of Continental tires, the Conti ecocontact 5 has a noticeable wear resistance advantage over the Conti Premium Contact 5. The two Michelin products are virtually identical in terms of fuel consumption and wear. In general, it can be stated that the difference in fuel consumption between Eco tires and Comfort tires is relatively low and is only about 5%, but at the same time, the wear resistance of these tires can differ by almost 2 times, that is, up to 100%.

Often there are questions about the Michelin Energy Saver + tire in the size 205/55 R16 due to its relatively low initial tread depth, which is less than the average level by 1 mm and is equal to 6.5 mm. However, when tested, the Energy Saver + tires did not show any wear lag compared to the Michelin Primacy 3 (average initial tread depth of 7.4 mm). Both models can handle roughly the same vehicle mileage. Also, the difference in fuel consumption of these models is hardly measurable.

The disadvantages of Energy Saver + include aquaplaning performance compared to the Primacy 3, they are slightly behind. In the end, the Primacy 3 is the best choice due to significantly better wet grip performance.

The Bridgestone Ecopia EP001S 205/55 R16 V is the only model with EC clutch and Label A for rolling resistance (fuel efficiency) and wet grip. These tires have an average initial tread depth, but their wear resistance is inferior to the same Michelin Energy Saver +, whose tread depth is 0.2 mm less. However, the EP001S is unlikely to have any disadvantages in fuel efficiency compared to the Bridgestone Turanza T001, but despite this, we give the Bridgestone Ecopia EP001S only "satisfactory" in this respect compared to all other test participants. As for aquaplaning, here Ecopia EP001S proved to be along with the worst models, such as the Nankang and two Michelin models, and the Turanza T001, on the contrary, was among the best! Thus, when choosing a Bridgestone tire, we recommend wet stability and comfort, which means the Bridgestone Turanza T001.

In general, the test scores turned out to be decent. Six candidates got “good” marks, according to ADAC, “satisfactory” - 12. The main failures were in the test on the wet road and many tires received “unsatisfactory” marks for this test.

Note: in standard size 205/55 R16, some tire models can be produced in different versions, but with the same name. These models and designs are valid for EU countries. In the table you can find a decoding of all marking indicators.

Which summer tires especially distinguished themselves in the test according to Behind the Wheel?

Michelin Primacy 3 tires showed good grip. In tests, Goodyear efficient Grip Performance summer tires, Continental Conti Premium Contact 5 and Pirelli Cinturato P7 Blue lagged behind them.

Alternatives

With low wear, the Kumho HS51 tires performed well on wet and dry surfaces, but high wear rates. With wear, the wet performance has deteriorated. These tires can be an alternative for Michelin.

Pick up

New summer tires from Bridgestone:

The Japanese manufacturer pleased the owners of sports sedans and minivans with this UHP-class model. Potenza Adrenalin RE003 received an asymmetric tread pattern, and with it - excellent handling and a high level of comfort (thanks to rigid tread blocks). The risk of aquaplaning is minimized. In general, it is an excellent choice for those who like to move at high speed, both on the race track and in ordinary city conditions.

New summer tires from Dunlop:

The optimal combination of low cost and excellent performance. The model demonstrates just excellent performance on wet surfaces. The increased silica content simply "sticks" the tire to the asphalt. Large drainage grooves efficiently drain water from under the wheel, and a special breaker design ensures the tire stability during sharp maneuvers. If you often travel in areas with high rainfall, then this tire will be the best choice for you.

3. Dunlop SP Touring T1

A comfortable ride - this is what the main emphasis was placed on when designing this model. The tire tread is symmetrical and made in the shape of the Latin letter "S", which helps to dampen vibration and noise. Thanks to the addition of the latest polymers to the mixture, the service life of the tire is significantly increased. The optimized drainage system removes water from under the wheel as quickly as possible, which seriously reduces the effect of aquaplaning. If, above all, you value a comfortable ride, then you should pay attention to this model.

Summer tires with an asymmetric tread pattern that do well in the rain and allow you to drive with ease and ease. The tire can be confidently called the flagship of summer passenger tires. The innovative "4D Nano Design" technology gives the tire excellent wet handling, stable handling at high speeds. The increased rigidity of the model reduces the level of tire wear when maneuvering. It should be noted that with a set of speed of the car, the contact spot does not reduce its area, and this indicates the stability of control, regardless of the speed limit. In general - if you are a connoisseur of quality, then this model will suit you perfectly.

Three new summer tires from Nokian:

A lightweight tire with an asymmetric tread pattern, which is designed for severe climatic conditions. It feels great on the wet road, is highly energy efficient and has a long service life. The model has excellent grip and ride comfort. The tire is considered one of the safest in its class. This model was chosen for its fuel economy and excellent grip in rainy weather.

Rapidly changing weather and harsh road conditions are the elements of these tires. Nordman SZ is the benchmark for reliability and safety. Moreover, at high speeds the tires do not change their qualities in any way - directional stability, driving stability and comfortable ride remain at a high level. The tire has two speed ratings ("V" and "W") and two tread patterns, respectively. This tire model is perfect for high-speed driving enthusiasts.

7. Nokian Nordman SC

Nokian has also prepared a novelty for the owners of minibuses and small trucks. Nordman SC tires have received the latest technology and components. The comfort and stability of the tire is at a fairly high level. The tire is designed for extended life, low noise emissions and an asymmetric tread pattern. This model can rightfully be called the best among analogues. If you are the owner of a minibus, then pay attention to this model.

What's new Michelin prepared?

Of all the all-season rubber models, these tires show excellent performance in both summer and winter. This optimal ratio was achieved thanks to the use of modern technologies. But it is still not worth recommending the tire to motorists from the harsh winter climate - it is designed for mild winters in central and southern Europe. Among the advantages of the tire, it is worth highlighting a two-layer tread, increased service life and a V-shaped tread pattern with many 3D sipes. It is also worth adding that as the tread wears down, the grip properties of the tire do not change.

9. Michelin Pilot Sport 4 PS4

This model can be called one of the most interesting novelties of summer tires of the new season. The tire incorporates modern materials and technologies, and due to this it has excellent technical characteristics. It is worth noting the multilayer carcass, which even more protects the tire from mechanical damage. The special tread pattern does not allow the contact patch to decrease its area during acceleration and sharp maneuvering, which means that the car will be controlled predictably and reliably. Also, increased attention was paid to the grip of the tire on wet asphalt. The tire should be chosen by lovers of sporty driving style and ultra-high performance.

10. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2

These tires have also been designed for sports cars and racetracks, but manufacturers claim the model will perform well on regular civilian roads. The tire is "sharpened" for stable handling at high speeds. The tire is extremely durable thanks to the new cord and special steel belts in the carcass that prevent bursting. The new rubber compound extends tire life despite high speed operation.

What's new from Japan?

This summer tire instantly became popular all over the world almost immediately after its presentation. Increased energy efficiency and long service life characterize this model. Add to this the excellent handling and gorgeous grip, and now the popularity of the model will become understandable. The rubber compound contains even more silica, and this helps the tire to keep the wet road, orange oil was added to the tire for greater tensile strength. If for a long time you cannot decide on the choice of summer tires you need, then feel free to take this model.

In conclusion, it is worth noting the general trends of tires for the upcoming summer season: the emphasis of manufacturers was, oddly enough, on increasing the life of tires.

In addition, most manufacturers have paid attention to driving on wet roads. Perhaps they know the weather forecast for the whole season (smiley - smile). Also, the new tires have become more tensile and tensile strength. In any case, progress does not stand still, plus increasing competition, and tire manufacturers are constantly finding, and will continue to find, how to improve their models to please motorists.

The warm season is steadily approaching, which means it's time to prepare for the upcoming planned replacement of automobile "rubber". If your old tires are worn out, it's time to familiarize yourself with the test results of summer tires of the 2016-2017 season.

Reputable European publications every year carry out comparative tests of the current models of the most popular tire brands. AvtoDela tried to collect all the information together and provide a generalized rating of summer tires from different manufacturers. The main factor that we took into account when compiling the list of models was rubber testing by at least two different expert communities. Below is a little about each of the expert instances.

ACE / ARBO

The Automobile Club of Europe (ACE) together with representatives of the Austrian auto club ARBÖ tested inexpensive summer tires in 195/65 R15 dimensions. Such wheels are often used on golf-class cars (actually Volkswagen Golf, Renault Megane, Ford Focus). The competition for the title of the best budget tire was held at the North German training ground in Papenburg. For the tests, a Volkswagen Golf VII 1.4 TSI was used, which was accelerated to 100 km / h to measure the braking distance on dry and abundantly wetted (to form puddles) asphalt. Then the car passed "slalom" to determine stability when maneuvering. In addition, the stand measured "free run" - the distance that the car is able to overcome by coasting, which characterizes the rolling resistance of the wheels and affects fuel economy.

Autonavigator

Hungarian magazine Autonavigator used a Ford Focus II station wagon in its 195/65 15-inch tire test. The tests were in many ways similar to the ACE / ARBO, except that the braking distance was measured three times: at speeds of 120, 100 and 60 km / h.

The All-German automobile tested a slightly narrower rubber (185/65 R15), which is also suitable for B-class cars (Hyundai Solaris, Renault Logan), as well as "executive" tires of 225/45 R17 dimension for business class (Toyota Camry, Ford Modeo, etc.). In the first case, Renault Clio was used, in the second - the reference representative of mid-size cars - Volkswagen Golf VII.

Auto Zeitung / GTU

Another test of the 17-inch rubber was carried out by the German magazine Auto Zeitung in conjunction with the German society for technical supervision GTU. They chose a BMW 1 Series car as a test bench. The tests in all cases were approximately similar to the first two options, so we will not go into a more detailed description.

AutoBild

Like the ADAC club, their compatriots from AutoBild conducted two tests, which are also quite unusual for our latitudes. They tested large midsize tires as well as summer crossover tires. Of course, the test methodology was different for each type of summer tire. In the first case, these were exclusively asphalt disciplines, in the second, an assessment of the cross-country ability on the ground, in mud and grass was added to it. At the same time, due to the specifics of the test and the absence of tires of the same name in tests of other publications, we will not consider each participant in detail. We only note that in the tests of crossover tires, the experts were glad for each model, stating that none of the participants showed depressing results, but in the case of sports tires of the UHP (Ultra High Perfomance) class, the results were very different. According to the AutoBild test results, the Continental SportContact 5 SUV turned out to be the best crossover tires, the worst Hankook Ventus S1 evo2 SUV K117A, although they also showed good results. In the ranking of sports tires, the new Continental SportContact 6 were at the top, and the worst of all was the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT.

Vi bilagare

The Swedish magazine Vi Bilagare has analyzed expensive first-tier tires this season. Although last year, attention was paid to inexpensive summer tires of the second echelon. Not surprisingly, in Europe, not only the car market, but also the tire market is on the rise, which cannot be said about Russia. It is also unusual that this year's test was carried out by Northern European experts in America, at the test site in Uvalde in Texas.

Cars Kazakhstan

While the Russian editorial office of Avtomobili magazine is sick because of the crisis, their colleagues from Kazakhstan have forked out to test summer tires. However, against the background of European giants, it turned out to be thin - only four models. Although the sample itself turned out to be very relevant: Bridgestone Ecopia EP150, Hankook Kinergy Eco K425, Michelin Energy XM2, Nokian Hakka Green 2.

The grand Russian automotive journalism - the newspaper "Autoreview" has traditionally carried out the next test of summer tires. True, unlike the Swedish Vi Bilagare, Russian specialists, on the contrary, tried to assemble relatively affordable tires, not forgetting, however, about the big names. The short list of Russian experts includes green Bridgestone Ecopia EP150, Cordiant Road Runner, Formula Energy, Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance, GT Radial Champiro Eco, Hankook Kinergy Eco K425, Headway HH301, Matador MP 44 Elite 3, Nokian Nordman SX, Nokian Hakka Green 2, Tigar Sigura. The size of tires (185 / 65R15) and the car-carrier, in the role of which was the red sedan Hyundai Solaris, were “popular”.

A little about how summer tires are tested

Tire testing is a major research effort, with a host of important factors. Polygon, measuring equipment, constant monitoring of the condition of tires (weight, tread depth, pressure, shore hardness, etc.). All this requires colossal resources. Moreover, all this fuss is for the sake of identifying the strengths and weaknesses of each tire. To do this, each set of tires is repeatedly immersed in a test environment to simulate different driving situations. Braking on dry and wet asphalt, lap speed on dry and wet surfaces, assessment of aquaplaning, noise level, ride comfort and durability.

The list of summer tires included in the AutoDel selection.

Summer tire test results for 2016-2017 season
Barum Brillantis 2 - summer tires, test

OFFICIAL INFORMATION

Czech brand Barum promises that Brillantis 2 delivers extended life and solid savings. In addition, the manufacturer says this versatile model combines balanced performance and precise steering response, with the added benefit of increased mileage and minimal aquaplaning risk.

TEST RESULTS

Oddly enough, but among the Asian outsiders of our rating, one European tire - Barum Brillantis 2 - was worn. Czech rubber proved to be not the best on both dry and wet asphalt. And if for the handling of Barum tires it is still possible to stretch the mark of "three with a plus", then for the ability to brake even "three with a minus" seems to be slightly overestimated. And if rubber saves fuel ... But no, and here the result of the Czechs is slightly below average. Summing up the tests, Barum Brillantis 2 comes up with one thought - the Czech Republic will not soon become the center of the tire industry.

The summary results of the Barum Brillantis 2 summer tire test: ACE / ARBO - 5th out of 10, ADAC (R15) - 11th out of 16, Autonavigator - 14th out of 17.

Bridgestone Ecopia EP150 - summer tires, test

OFFICIAL INFORMATION

The tire company's Russian website says that thanks to the latest technology from Bridgestone, the Ecopia EP150 tire has reduced rolling resistance while also offering excellent braking properties and increased wear resistance. In comparison tests, ECOPIA EP150 tires reduce fuel consumption by 7.1%.

* Source: Japan Automobile Transportation Technology Association

The goal of this design is to offer a sufficient level of safety with optimal energy performance.

To this end, Bridgestone has developed a new rubber compound called Nano Pro-Tech ™, a technology designed to reduce rolling resistance and therefore carbon dioxide consumption and emissions.

Especially for this, the tire tread has been developed, which consists of special blocks and strips that improve traction and braking on wet surfaces.

TEST RESULTS

Eco-tires from "Bridgestone" this season were tested by domestic experts from "Autoreview", as well as the Kazakhstani edition of the magazine "Automobiles". In both tests, the Japanese eco-tire Bridgestone Ecopia EP150 was among the last. In the newspaper "Autoreview" they called them a disappointment of the test. On wet pavement, their stopping distances are eight meters longer than test leader Hankook Kinergy Eco K425. And in other respects, Ecopia EP150 performed poorly. Truly weak tires.

Summary results of the Bridgestone Ecopia EP150 summer tire test: Kazakhstan cars - 4th place out of 4, Autoreview newspaper 10th place out of 10.

Bridgestone Turanza T001 - summer tires, test

OFFICIAL INFORMATION

In the description for the Bridgestone Turanza T001 it is said that it is a perfectly balanced premium tire recommended by major European car manufacturers. It has exceptional handling on both wet and dry surfaces and provides a high level of comfort when driving at various speeds. The increased comfort and improved performance of the BRIDGESTONE Turanza T001 are especially noticeable when traveling long distances.

TEST RESULTS

The summer tire Bridgestone Turanza T001 turned out to be quite controversial. These tires came in second in the Autonavigator test. The magazine substantiated such a high result by good performance of tires in wet road conditions, low noise level and high wear resistance (which was assessed visually based on the results of tests). In dry conditions, the tires performed worse, scoring slightly above average. However, in ADAC tests, the result was almost the opposite: the Bridgestone Turanza T001 tires received the highest points for handling and safety on dry surfaces, and low grip on wet roads and poor aquaplaning resistance resulted in a final low score and 12th place in their ranking. Even more confusion in the quality indicators of rubber was made by the tests of the German Auto Zeitung, in which the Turanza T001 turned out to be a complete average, with a relatively poor result on wet surfaces and a little more intelligible behavior on dry asphalt. Result: 7th place out of 14. It is difficult to say what is the reason for this ambiguity in the results - the unstable quality of the rubber itself is to blame for this, or different test conditions influenced it. However, it should be noted that in the same situation, Continental, Goodyear and Pirelli tires took unequivocally high places.

The summary results of the Bridgestone Turanza T001 summer tire test: ADAC (R15) - 12th place out of 16, Autonavigator - 2nd place out of 17, Auto Zeitung / GTU - 7th place out of 14, Vi Bilagare - 5th place out of 9.

Continental ContiSportContact 5 / Continental ContiSportContact 5 SUV - summer tires, test

OFFICIAL INFORMATION

The Continental ContiSportContac 5 is said to be a high performance tire with outstanding handling. The novelty is developed using the innovative BlackChilli rubber compound, which guarantees the maximum possible transmission of braking forces and contributes to low rolling resistance during normal driving, and its specialty is its ability to adapt to different vibration frequencies of the tire. Compared to the previous model, the ContiSportContact 5 has improved performance characteristics. Specifically, the ContiSportContact 5 tires have significantly shorter braking distances on both wet and dry roads, a 10% reduction in rolling resistance and a 13% increase in mileage.

TEST RESULTS

The Continental ContiSportContact 5 in the dimension 225/45 R17 ran through the ADAC as well as the Auto Zeitung / GTU tandem. Both expert communities have shown excellent tire balance. The uncompromising grip of the Continental ContiSportContact 5 results in low fuel efficiency in terms of severe rolling resistance. Also, the disadvantages can be attributed to the noise of rubber, but this factor is of little importance in cars with good sound insulation.

The summary results of the Continental ContiSportContact 5 summer tire test: ADAC (R17) - 1 out of 16, AutoBild - 1 out of 7, Auto Zeitung / GTU - 1 out of 14.

Continental ContiPremiumContact 5 - summer tires, test

OFFICIAL INFORMATION

The ContinentalContiPremiumContact5 is an excellent all-round tire that combines comfort and safety at the highest level. This is the flagship of the company's tire lineup, and therefore the manufacturer boasts of technology and high quality.

ContinentalContiPremiumContact5 is a new premium tire for passenger cars ranging from compact models to full-size sedans, offering extremely short dry and wet braking distances, low rolling resistance, excellent performance and comfortable handling.

Improved grip of the ContinentalConti Premium Contact5 tire is achieved through the use of macroblocks that provide an increased contact patch. 3D grooves help to reduce stopping distances, while wide ribs on the inner and outer shoulder increase grip on wet roads.

The new geometry of the longitudinal grooves prevents aquaplaning even at high speeds. A flatter tire contour contributes to even wear and increased tire mileage, while cross-groove grooves reduce noise.

The use of a hard rubber compound in the bead sidewalls makes the ContinentalConti Premium Contact5 stiffer and reduces deformation, while the shoulder remains more flexible and helps reduce rolling resistance. Thus, the movement becomes more comfortable.

TEST RESULTS

Another model from the German tire manufacturer, ContinentalConti Premium Contact5, also showed strong results. The first line is in the Swedish Vi Bilagare and the second in the fifteen-inch ADAC test. The tire showed perfect behavior on dry asphalt. Accurate, adequate reactions on the fast lane, short stopping distances. On wet surfaces it is only slightly worse. The main advantage is the same as in the case of the ContiSportContact 5 - good balance.

The summary results of the test of the summer tire ContinentalConti Premium Contact5: ADAC (R16) - 2nd place out of 16, Vi Bilagare - 1st place out of 9.

Dunlop Sport BlueResponse - summer tires, test

OFFICIAL INFORMATION

The manufacturer says about its brainchild: "DunlopSport BluResponse deserves the best epithets for handling." The presence of polymers in the rubber compound allows it to quickly adapt to the road profile, significantly increasing the level of grip. Dunlop has a higher slip threshold; cornering speed on wet surfaces is frankly impressive and allows you to feel the stiffness of the shoulder area on the steering wheel.

At the stage of the product launch, the developers carried out various kinds of tests, including by the union of independent experts TUV SUD Automotive. Then, in seven disciplines, Dunlop Sport BluResponse tires outperformed the competition on most of the key factors. This model has three meters shorter wet braking distances than the average of other tire brands and has a 3% higher grip coefficient than the test participants' average. These impressive benefits are complemented by the European Commission's BA mark for exemplary rolling resistance, wet grip and acoustic comfort.

Dunlop Sport BluResponse has been featured in the official European dealer network since early 2013.

TEST RESULTS

Dunlop tires could have been in third place in our overall rating, but ADAC and AutoZeitung used different names for this manufacturer (Sport BlueResponse and Sport Maxx RT2, respectively). As a consequence, there is no way to assess different views on the quality of each of these models. It should be noted, however, that both British tires performed well, only slightly inferior to Goodyear in wet grip and superior in dry grip.

The summary results of the summer tire test Dunlop Sport BluResponse: ADAC (R15) - 3rd place out of 16, Vi Bilagare - 6th place out of 9.

Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance - summer tires, test

OFFICIAL INFORMATION

Goodyear's EfficientGrip Performance boasts Category A wet grip (A1 for wet grip is the highest rating under EU regulation) and reduced braking distances.

ActiveBraking technology improves tire-to-road contact, resulting in shorter braking distances by two meters (8%) when driving on wet roads2 and 3% when driving on dry roads3.

WearControl wear control technology provides an optimal combination of wet grip and low rolling resistance over the tire's life.

The new base component is based on FuelSaving technology, which reduces the energy dissipation of the tire. An 18.4% reduction in rolling resistance means improved fuel efficiency and lower customer costs.

TEST RESULTS

Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance has been tested by the Hungarian Autonavigator magazine (195/65 R15) and the German club ADAC. Like the Continental ContiSportContact 5, these tires showed the shortest braking distances on both dry and wet surfaces. In addition, Goodyear showed excellent handling and braking performance on wet surfaces as well as in dry braking. The results were low in high-speed cornering on dry roads, as well as in rolling resistance (which will be reflected in higher fuel consumption).

Thus, Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance has proven itself to be a safe rubber for a confident ride in all road conditions. These tires are suitable for families who value safety over high speed maneuverability. This was not achieved by other models, which are more suitable either for some or for other conditions.

The summary results of the Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance summer tire test: ADAC (R15) - 4th place out of 16, Vi Bilagare - 2nd place out of 9, Autonavigator - 1st place out of 17, Autoreview newspaper - 3rd place out of 10.

GT Radial Champiro - summer tires, test

OFFICIAL INFORMATION

The Chinese tire manufacturer hasn't hesitated to call the GT Radial Champiro a premium. The accompanying material states: "This premium directional studded tire with an innovative new design ensures reliability even in extreme weather conditions." In addition, it is noted that the tire has excellent wear resistance, and the optimally designed side grooves help to better remove water and dirt from the contact patch. The new silica compound Silica improves handling on ice and traction on snow.

TEST RESULTS

The opinion has long been circulating on the Internet that "there will always be an Asian who can do it better." So in our rating among the outsiders, the tires from Singapore (an island state in Southeast Asia) - GT Radial Champiro, especially distinguished themselves. If we omit the foul language, the verdict of the testers is: "This rubber will try to kill you."

But let's leave the jokes for later. The GT Radial Champiro really surprised me with a combination of negative qualities. In three tests (VP1, FE1 and HPY versions of different sizes were tested), the Singapore tires showed unambiguously disgusting grip on wet asphalt. And where Barum was allowed to perform some maneuvers, Champiro strove to break into uncontrolled sliding. The dry sections of the test site fared slightly better. Worst of all was the modification of tires with the VP1 index. The Champiro FE1 that replaced it showed slightly more adequate results in "dry" tests. The 17-inch GT Radial Champiro HPY's 17-inch GT Radial Champiro HPY is even better (as far as possible), but this is more due to the larger contact patch (tires are 225 mm wide) than the technology improvements. In general, we can state that at the moment GT Radial rubber performs extremely poorly in the main task of keeping the car on the road, and does not guarantee your safety.

Kumho tires were able to compete in all tests. This manufacturer did not get into the general code, because different models were tested in the tests. However, it is worth noting that this Korean manufacturer (unlike Nexen and Hankook) has always found itself among the outsiders. Hard tires, designed for hot dry Asian asphalt, did not perform well in the conditions of central Europe, with its cool, wet spring (and even more so for the harsher Russian conditions).

The summary results of the GT Radial Champiro FE1 summer tire test: ADAC (R15) - 16th out of 16, ACE / ARBO - 10th out of 10, ADAC (R17) - 15th out of 16.

Hankook Ventus S1 evo2 K117 - summer tires, test

OFFICIAL INFORMATION

The Hankook Ventus S1 evo2 (K117) is the flagship Ultra High Performance tire developed with DTM technology, one of the most popular bodywork series in motorsport. The Hankook Ventus S1 evo² strikes the best balance between wet and dry handling.

The Hankook Ventus S1 evo² from Hankook combines the characteristics of a well-proven predecessor model with innovations based on Hankook's experience in the DTM series. The multi-radius projector technology in the Hankook Ventus S1 evo² provides superior aquaplaning performance and optimal traction for improved vehicle control and safety at high speeds. An innovative DTM-inspired triple-layer tread block design with intelligent ladder-based outer rib blocks that increase the tire-to-road patch as it abrades.

The Hankook Ventus S1 evo² is formulated with the latest generation of advanced rubber compounds with optimized atomic cross-linking to help improve wear characteristics and resistance to thermal aging. A completely new formulation of polymer nano-components (styrene) is responsible for the tire's first-class wet performance and reduced rolling resistance.

Special multi-level grooves in the shoulder area of the tread create turbulent micro-airflows while driving.

Cooling fins in the drain grooves of the Hankook Ventus S1 evo2 K117 also improve heat transfer during rolling. For a pleasant driving experience, the tire features an aerodynamic sidewall design that further reduces tire noise and enhances its sporty appearance.

TEST RESULTS

In races of 17-inch tires, the Hankook Ventus S1 evo2 K117 proved to be similar to the younger model - the best quality at the lowest price, while surpassing even some of the more expensive brands. Of the obvious disadvantages, it is worth noting the relatively low grip on wet asphalt.

In terms of the aggregate qualities, Hankook tires nevertheless received a final rating of "good", and can be recommended in cases where the purchase price is more important than the properties of rubber at high speeds.

The summary results of the summer tire test Hankook Ventus S1 evo2 K117: ADAC (R17) - 5 out of 16, AutoBild (sports UHP tires) - 2 out of 6, AutoBild (tires for SUVs) - 7 out of 7, Auto Zeitung / GTU - 9th place out of 14.

Hankook Kinergy Eco K425 - summer tires, test

OFFICIAL INFORMATION

HANKOOK Tire has developed a state-of-the-art next generation passenger car tire concept. The KINERGY ECO series combines HANKOOK's most advanced technologies in safety, dynamic performance, comfort and environmental compatibility. KINERGY is an abbreviation of the expression Kinetic Energy or energy of motion (from the Greek "kinesis" which means movement), and also denotes the energy that an object receives while moving. In addition, it is the force that must be expended to move an object from its place and set it in motion. These new HANKOOK tires have a significantly lower performance than conventional tires in this class. The ECO Index provides the user with a benchmark and is synonymous with Ecology and Economy, which indicates the environmentally friendly and economical (fuel-saving) properties of the tire.

The new KINERGY ECO tires are an impressive achievement for HANKOOK Tire. The combination of the newest and hitherto unused materials in this segment, such as silicate nanoparticles, and advanced mixing technologies allow KINERGY ECO tires to reduce rolling resistance by 12% compared to conventional tires. These energy savings translate into lower fuel consumption and thus lower CO2 emissions. At the same time, these station wagons perform well in the disciplines related to safety and wet braking. Compared to other tires in their class, they reduce braking distances by 8%.

"KINERGY ECO is the beginning of a new era," says Jin-Wook Choi, HANKOOK Tire's executive vice president and head of the company's Europe. “The values of our society have changed a lot in recent years. People think and act with the environment in mind and want tires to be more efficient in fuel consumption without wanting to sacrifice safety and driving comfort. With the KINERGY ECO we have achieved this combination. , our highest priority remains the safety of our customers. We do not compromise here! " An unbalanced, asymmetrical profile is critical to a tire's ride characteristics.

The optimized tread pitch of the HANKOOK KINERGY ECO not only improves the vehicle's handling, but also makes the tire's ride quality more comfortable and quieter. Optimally positioned wide grooves around the tire circumference effectively prevent aquaplaning. Self-sharpening lug edges improve traction on both wet and dry surfaces. Wide corner treads and an enlarged tire contact patch improve traction and stability when cornering and at high speeds on dry surfaces.

Since 2008, HANKOOK has followed the philosophy of H-LOHAS (Hankook Lifestyle Oriented Health and Sustainability), which, in addition to continuously developing environmentally friendly products such as KINERGY ECO, also includes responsibility towards society and the environment. It is therefore not surprising that the new HANKOOK Tire Concept has been developed with EU tire labeling in mind. The EU labeling adopted by the European Commission for all 27 EU countries in the form of a directive is intended from November 2012 to add transparency to the European car tire market. These markings will indicate to car owners that they are quiet products with increased rolling resistance and therefore safe products with high grip on wet surfaces.

TEST RESULTS

Among the budget models on the ACE / ARBO test, the Korean Hankook Kinergy Eco K425 became the leaders. They snatched such a place in the current test of the newspaper "Autoreview". In the overall standings with the more expensive tires, Hankook performed well. Perhaps the main advantage of Hankook tires over the aforementioned summer tires is the price. So, for example, in the ranking of fifteen-inch tires, the Germans from ADAC placed the Kinergy Eco K425 right after the more expensive Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance. It is worth noting that Korean tires showed the best level of safety and handling both on dry and wet roads, however, due to the larger (in both cases) braking distance, Hankook was rated slightly worse than the American opponent.

In the Autonavigator tests, Korean tires took only 9th place. At the same time, all tires that the Germans rated better than the Kinergy Eco K425 are in the more expensive price segment, and the gap between Hankook was relatively small. Of the positive qualities of the tire, it is worth noting low rolling resistance, which increases fuel efficiency.

The summary results of the summer tire test Hankook Kinergy Eco K425: ADAC (R15) - 5th place out of 16, ACE / ARBO - 2nd place out of 10, Autonavigator - 9th place out of 17, Cars Kazakhstan - 2nd place out of 4, Autoreview newspaper - 1 place out of 10.

Infinity Ecosis - summer tires, test

OFFICIAL INFORMATION

Infinity Ecosis tires are designed for use in the warm season on the widest range of light vehicles - from compact city cars to midsize crossovers and SUVs.

Infinity Ecosis tires stand out for their economy of use, increased handling, improved traction, effective braking, reliable aquaplaning protection and a long service life.

TEST RESULTS

The Chinese rubber Infinity Ecosis cannot be called the cheapest in the segment, but it could not show particularly outstanding results. According to ADAC, the main drawbacks of this tire are poor handling and low resistance to aquaplaning in rainy conditions. At the same time, on a dry road, Infinity Ecosis also did not reveal any positive aspects. Of the advantages, one can single out only low noise and low price, but otherwise the brainchild of the Chinese chemical industry does not even reach the middle position in the summer tire market.

The summary results of the Infinity Ecosis summer tire test: ADAC (R15) - 9th place out of 16, Autonavigator - 8th place out of 17.

Michelin Primacy 3 - summer tires, test

OFFICIAL INFORMATION

The MICHELIN Primacy 3 tire is designed for a wide range of medium and executive cars. In comparison with the previous model, the new product, according to the manufacturer, provides a higher level of safety, improved in three directions at once: on a dry road, on a wet road and when cornering. The improvements achieved in three aspects of safety at once are reflected in the name of the tire - Primacy 3. In addition to the unique adhesion properties, the tire is distinguished by traditionally high Michelin indicators in two other areas: mileage and fuel efficiency.

TEST RESULTS

Summer tires Michelin Primacy 3 are not new for a long time. Despite this, the tire of the French brand was tested by two expert communities - Auto Zeitung / GTU and Vi Bilagare. The results were not surprising: the scores almost completely repeated the history of previous years. How many times Michelin lags behind other eminent rivals! The thing is that the trump card of their tires is a high degree of comfort and a long service life, and these indicators do not decisively affect the ratings. On the wet road, the Michelin Primacy 3 is at the level of the average. On dry surfaces, these tires slow down better. But rolling resistance is the lowest in the Auto Zeitung / GTU test. But resistance to aquaplaning is not the best.

The summary results of the Michelin Primacy 3 summer tire test: Auto Zeitung / GTU - 8th out of 14, Vi Bilagare - 7th out of 9.

Michelin Energy Saver + - summer tires, test

OFFICIAL INFORMATION

The manufacturer claims that the use of the MICHELIN Energy Saver tire reduces braking distances, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

Michelin Energy Saver tires are the fourth generation of "Energy" tires and are designed for use on a variety of vehicles: city, family, coupe and minivan. They have unique characteristics that ensure a high degree of safety and reduce costs during vehicle operation.

The company's experts note the following advantages of Michelin Energy Saver summer tires: increased safety, durability of tires and reduced fuel consumption.

These characteristics were achieved through the use of the following innovative ideas.

Michelin Energy Saver tires have a reduced mass, which means they heat up more slowly when driving, and vice versa when braking, faster and for a short period. The use of a special rubber compound consisting mainly of silica. In the manufacture of tires, a silicon mixture is used and the presence of the usual component - soot is practically excluded (it is present in a minimum amount to give the tire a black color).

The advantage of the Michelin Energy Saver over its other counterparts is that, while providing significant savings, it also improves road safety by reducing braking distances on wet roads.

TEST RESULTS

In last year's Autonavigator tests, French tires outperformed Nokian in many respects, however, according to ADAC, the results were worse. More specifically, the German motoring community had doubts about the sustainability of the Energy Saver + on wet surfaces, which ultimately contributed to the low rating. The only thing that can be said for sure is that the proven Michelin model is not the best summer rubber option (although far from the worst). Considering that Energy Saver + tires are significantly more expensive than similar Nokian and Kumho tires, Michelin fell into a lower position in our ranking.

Summary results of the Michelin Energy Saver + summer tire test: ADAC (R15) - 10th place out of 16, Autonavigator - 6th place out of 17.

Nexen N "Blue HD Plus - summer tires, test

OFFICIAL INFORMATION

The NEXEN N'Blue HD is positioned as an energy-efficient summer tire for passenger cars of class B and C with high wear resistance and was specially developed in Korea for the European market. When developing HD, the developers paid special attention to safety and dynamics. N'Blue are also distinguished by excellent handling, very effective braking, which is especially important when cornering.

TEST RESULTS

But the results of Nexen were not so clear-cut. Nexen N "Blue HD Plus tires have proven to be excellent on dry asphalt, delivering better handling, safety and braking performance, but these qualities oppose wet performance. Due to poor performance in rain conditions and high noise levels, Nexen tires did not even make it into the top ten of the German auto club ADAC rating, being on the 13th line. Thus, as in the case of Pirelli, we can recommend this model only for areas with low rainfall in the warm season (for example , Kazakhstan and the Caspian territories).

The summary results of the Nexen N "Blue HD Plus summer tire test: ADAC (R15) - 13th place out of 16, ACE / ARBO - 1st place out of 10.

Nokian Hakka Green 2 - summer tires, test

OFFICIAL INFORMATION

The Nokian Hakka Green 2 is a summer tire for compact and mid-size family cars that offers unique safety on our roads. The tire effectively prevents aquaplaning, reduces fuel consumption and has more mileage.

Also, the manufacturer focuses on modern tire technologies: Reducing vibration, increasing the level of comfort

The sidewall cushioning system is called Silent Sidewall Technology. A special layer of rubber compound absorbs shocks and reduces the impact of imperfections in the road surface on the vehicle, thus reducing vibration levels. Silent Sidewall noise reduction technology is a special area on the sidewall of the tire that dampens vibration and any sounds that come from the road surface through the tire treads. This reduces noise levels, making driving more stable and comfortable.

Effective prevention of aquaplaning

The curved ramp-like structure on the tread blocks in the inner shoulder area of the tire directs and accelerates the flow of water from the longitudinal grooves into the lateral grooves. The excellent aquaplaning protection is maintained even when the tire wears out. To reduce the mobility of the tread blocks, there are optimized support supports between them. The mounts improve handling and provide a comfortable noise level and more even tread wear.

More reliability, safety, comfort and less fuel consumption

The combination of Intelligent Green Silica rubber compound, environmentally friendly pine and rapeseed oil, fine soot particles used in mining tires adapts to the road, temperature and driving style. The new tread compound remains stable over a wide temperature range and withstands the stresses of uneven, rough roads.

TEST RESULTS

The Finnish tire Nokian Hakka Green 2 is still little known in the market. This is because this is a relatively new model of the brand. This tire has won three trials this season. "Hakku Green" was tested by foreign experts Vi Bilagare, experts-neighbors from the magazine "Automobile" Kazakhstan, the newspaper "Autoreview" and the magazine "Za Rulem".

It is interesting that if in the Kazakh and Russian tests the new product from Nokian performed quite confidently, then the Scandinavian testers put it in the penultimate place. In the test of the newspaper "Autoreview" these are tires with the lowest rolling resistance, but the main thing is that, despite this, they also showed the best braking distance on wet asphalt in the "Autoreview" test. On dry surface, the behavior is half a step worse. Overall, however, it is a very balanced model.

In the test of the magazine "Za Rulem" Nokian Hakka Green 2 took the first place out of twelve possible. The experts noted the shortest braking distance, as well as the best speed and controllability during the changeover both on dry and wet asphalt, the highest indicator of comfort, smoothness and economy.

Summary results of the Nokian Hakka Green 2 summer tire test: Automobile magazine - 1st place out of 4, Vi Bilagare - 3rd place out of 9, Autoreview newspaper - 2nd place out of 11, Za Rulem magazine - 1st place out of 12.

Nokian Line / Nokian zLine - summer tires, test

OFFICIAL INFORMATION

The Nokian Line is a very recent addition to the Nokian summer tire range. The manufacturer immediately announces a number of its strengths.

So, for example, to ensure quick water removal from the contact patch and improve grip on wet roads, the Nokian Line tread is equipped with special water collecting grooves Swoop Grooves. They are located in the shoulder area and are adapted to remove more moisture, providing better protection against aquaplaning.

Another feature is the rubber compound with silica particles, which guarantees reliable contact with both dry and wet road surfaces. In addition, due to its special composition, it generates less heat while driving, which reduces fuel consumption and helps to extend the life of the tire. The asymmetrical tread pattern makes the tire more stable. The center tread area consists of a harder rubber compound, which further improves handling at high speeds.

The dual-block shoulder area enhances steering precision and gives the tire extra rigidity. In a normal, relaxed driving style, the blocks flex, thereby reducing rolling resistance and allowing the vehicle to use less fuel. In a sporty, aggressive driving style, the shoulder blocks close together, increasing the stiffness of the tire.

TEST RESULTS

Approximately at the same level as the Koreans in the tests were two models from Nokian: Line, dimension 195/65 R15, and its seventeen-inch counterpart - zLine. Compared to the Hankook Kinergy Eco, the Finnish tires performed better on dry asphalt, but performed worse on wet roads. In addition, the Nokian turned out to be slightly less economical in terms of fuel consumption, but more resistant to wear.

In the 17-inch rubber test, Nokian also came close to the Hankook. However, this time the Nokian zLine was slightly better on wet roads and poorer on dry asphalt.

Considering the close cost between the one-class Nokian and Hankook models, we can draw the following conclusions: if you live in an arid climate, then when choosing 15-inch wheels for a low price, we recommend you Nokian Line, and among 17-inch tires you should take a closer look at the Hankook Ventus S1 evo2 K117. Accordingly, for a more rainy climate, it is better to choose Hankook Kinergy Eco K425 from budget 15-inch wheels, and Nokian zLine will show themselves better on 17 disks. The main thing is not to be confused (or simply not to skimp on the more expensive models from the top three leaders, which obviously hold better both on dry and on wet roads).

Summary results of the Nokian Line summer tire test: Autonavigator - 7th place out of 17, ADAC - 6th place out of 16.

Pirelli P Zero - summer tires, test

OFFICIAL INFORMATION

Pirelli P Zero - Designed specifically for luxury cars, exclusive sports cars and powerful SUVs of the new generation, P Zero tires are also recommended for mid-range cars with powerful engines. The new asymmetric tread pattern concept optimizes the contact patch at high speeds for excellent grip and handling as well as reduced noise levels.

The outer shoulder with wide, rigid blocks provides enhanced handling in curves and in sporty driving. The new tire managed to reduce the risk of aquaplaning, thanks to the presence of three wide longitudinal grooves and additional diagonal grooves. Three solid longitudinal ribs guarantee high directional stability at high speeds, a significant reduction in braking distance, excellent grip characteristics at high speeds on both wet and dry road surfaces. The use of the latest generation of rubber compounds in the production has significantly reduced the weight of the tire, improved handling and grip performance, increased the level of comfort and minimized the deformation effect of the tire when driving at high speeds.

TEST RESULTS

The 225/45 R17 Pirelli P Zero tires also showed excellent results, taking the honorable third place in the Adac research. In Auto Zeitung / GTU tests, P Zero tied for third place in the ranking with the Dunlop Sport Maxx RT2 tires. In all tests, Pirelli just fell slightly behind our leaders, which speaks of the high quality of the P Zero. Perhaps, in hotter conditions, Italian rubber would have performed better, but the tests took place in Germany, where the climate is cooler than on the Mediterranean coast. Anyway, we can recommend Pirelli PZero for our southern regions and Kazakhstan.

The summary results of the Pirelli PZero summer tire test: ADAC (R17) - 3rd place out of 16, Auto Zeitung / GTU - 3rd place out of 14.

Sava Intensa HP - summer tires, test

OFFICIAL INFORMATION

Sava Intensa HP sellers focus on value for money. They claim the versatile pattern is capable of performing well on both asphalt and dirt roads. The Sava Intensa HP is said to have a very high performance in terms of vehicle handling as it features an advanced cord system. Also, the material of the tire is quite light, which helps to reduce fuel consumption during operation. To what extent the statements of the sellers are justified in practice, read below.

TEST RESULTS

Sava is another European brand. Like the more famous Dunlop, Sava is a subsidiary of the American monster Goodyear - a kind of Dacia in the world of tires, only originally from Slovenia. The Sava Intensa HP, tested by ACE / ARBO and ADAC, did not show any extraordinary ability, but was able to outperform significantly more expensive tires.

In budget rubber races, the Sava Intensa HP performed well on dry surfaces. However, poor performance in emergency braking in the rain contributed to the overall low position in the rankings. Interestingly, the ADAC Intensa HP showed itself differently in tests - excellent results on wet asphalt and poor grip on dry roads, which, together with high noise levels, threw the Sava to 8th place in the German rating.

In the battle of 17-inch tires, the Intensa UHP model (which is seriously different from the Intensa HP not only in size, but also in the tread pattern) came out for this brand. The rubber proved to be close in performance to the Nokian zLine - relatively good grip on dry asphalt, and somewhat indistinct behavior on a wet road. Of the advantages, it is worth noting the best wear resistance.

The summary results of the Sava Intensa HP summer tire test: ADAC (R17) - 1st place out of 16, ADAC (R15) - 4th place out of 16, ACE / ARBO - 8th place out of 10.

Toyo Proxes T1 Sport - summer tires, test

OFFICIAL INFORMATION

Summer tires Proxes T1 Sport are ideal for sports sedans and coupes. Providing extremely precise control of the machine on both wet and dry surfaces, the tires have excellent stability, especially at high speeds.

A tough, grooved inner tread rib improves braking and reduces uneven tire wear. The center rib gives the vehicle stability at high speeds and improves responsiveness. The powerful shoulder block increases the contact patch area and improves handling and steering response. Wide center grooves and drainage channels reduce the risk of aquaplaning.

The very hard top belt layer gives the wheel stability at high speeds. The solid sidewall provides good handling on the track. The rigid rayon layer provides stability when cornering at high speeds, and the inflexible bead filler provides quick steering response when driving straight ahead.

The two-component rubber compound (not available in all sizes) meets the varying demands of the inside and outside of the tire for superior handling and braking. A mixture of the inner side of the tread improves handling. Outside mix is designed to improve cornering stability (allows for higher cornering speeds).

Two different profiles have been developed depending on the tire width. Tire widths of 285 mm and wider have a wide center rib for improved cornering control and traction.

TEST RESULTS

In addition to Bridgestone, other Japanese tires were presented at the tests: Toyo Proxes T1 Sport. These tires were clearly not created for the average European climate, which led to a low position in the ranking. Toyo's frankly weak point is the wet road - both tires performed significantly worse than the rubber models described above in safety and stability on wet surfaces. With regard to dry asphalt, then everything is not so simple. The tire holds the road well when maneuvering, but the braking distance is poor. From individual features, it can be noted that Toyo Proxes T1 Sport is subject to rapid wear.

The summary results of the test of the summer tire Toyo Proxes T1 Sport: ADAC (R17) - 11th place out of 16, Auto Zeitung / GTU - 10th place out of 14.

Vredestein Sportrac 5 - summer tires, test

OFFICIAL INFORMATION

Vredestein summer tires are the updated version of the Sportrac 3 tires, which proved to be excellent in tests. The company deliberately "missed" the number 4 in the name of the new product in order to avoid possible confusion with the name of the all-season tires Vredestein. Sportrac 5 is an absolutely quiet and extremely comfortable summer tire with excellent stability characteristics and a sporty profile that guarantee excellent handling both on dry and on a wet road surface. The Sportrac 5 size range allows these tires to be fitted to more prestigious mid-range vehicles.

The Vredestein Sportrac 5 tire was developed in collaboration with the Italian design company Giugiaro. Over the past few years, this fruitful collaboration has already led to the creation of tires such as the Vredestein Ultrac Cento and Ultrac Sessanta, which are very popular with drivers.

Giugiaro Design has developed the tread pattern and sidewall markings of the Sportrac 5 as well as some significant components. A blackout at the base of all four tread grooves emphasizes the asymmetry and gives the tire a sporty look, while markings on the sidewall complement the uniquely elegant design. In addition, the shoulder of the Sportrac 5 has the Vredestein logo next to the tread wear indicator.

Excellent handling and long service life.

Unlike the Sportrac 3, the Sportrac 5 has an asymmetric tread pattern rather than a directional one. The tire also has design bend points in the center grooves that provide the flexibility needed for low rolling resistance and an optimal tire footprint to evenly distribute the pressure on the road surface. This ensures even tire wear and excellent handling on both dry and wet surfaces.

Handling Tuned Sidewall Technology

The Sportrac 5 uses Handling Tuned Sidewall technology, which, together with reinforced outer shoulders and a robust construction, provides a particularly sporty car behavior and excellent handling.

Safe and quiet driving

The Sportrac 5 tires have four wide longitudinal grooves for optimal water drainage and maximum aquaplaning protection. The clever distribution of the shoulder blocks of the tire ensures excellent braking performance on wet surfaces as well as low noise levels (external and internal). Combining all these merits, Vredestein engineers have created the most sporty summer tire on the market, the Sportrac 5 for the V segment.

TEST RESULTS

The Vredestein Sportrac 5 is perhaps the most controversial model in the AutoDel sample. In the German ADAC test of 185/65 R15 tires, she won, but in the Vi Bilagare rating she fell to the tail of the rating. What is the reason? There is no explanation. Most likely, in this case, a whole complex of factors converged in one place, the main of which is rivals.
