With the advent of cold weather, everyone who has a personal car begins to think about buying winter tires. Today, your attention will be presented to the winter tires of the manufacturer Sava, which has excellent reviews from the owners, which intrigued us.

First of all, it is worth mentioning that Sava winter tires have many variations designed for certain climatic conditions. The owner himself chooses which option is more preferable for him: studded, non-studded or generally Velcro. Consider some of the newest, most interesting proposals from this manufacturer.

Popular Models

  1. Winter tires Sava Eskimo Stud have clearly good customer reviews. The reason for this is the special shape of the studs with six corners, which perfectly cling to any, even the most slippery surface, guaranteeing full traction. The manufacturer assures us that a special silicon layer allows this model to remain soft, elastic even in the most severe cold conditions, which is important for a comfortable ride on bumpy roads.
  2. The line of winter tires Sava Eskimo has recently replenished with a new model. Winter tires Sava Eskimo S3 has no worse reviews than the previous model. The owners note the following advantages:
  3. - does not make a lot of noise;
    - a wet surface does not affect the controllability of the machine;
    — copes with both frost and dirt;
    — passes even on loose snow.

  4. On the Internet, namely on the forums of motorists, reviews of Sawa Eskimo winter tires appear more and more often. Sava Eskimo Ice is a Polish model created for the most severe, frosty regions. Clear treads in tandem with spikes ensure that even on an icy track, the owner does not have to worry about safety, and this is important in the winter season.

As in many other cases, when purchasing winter tires, it is important for a person that they meet the criteria set. As a rule, attention is paid to the quality of the goods and the cost.

We have already said earlier that the Sava rubber producing country is Poland, known for its reliable car tires. However, are Sava winter tires the best option? To answer the question posed, one should compare winter models that are approximately in the same price category, and also trace which of them have the best characteristics. We will consider winter tires Sava and Nitto.

Owner reviews are the most reliable source of information, so we will judge Sava winter tires based on them:

  • for the most part, buyers note that a wide range of models allows you to choose an option suitable for any climatic conditions: from the humid Primorsky climate to the frosty Siberian;
  • then we note that the manufacturer combines several types of grip in the proposed product at once: both spikes and Velcro;
  • Moreover, the reviews eloquently indicate that the price of Sava winter tires is fully justified by their high functionality.

Now consider the characteristics of Nitto's opponent:

  • according to reviews, the tires of this manufacturer, like Sava winter tires, do an excellent job with various adverse weather conditions: ice, snowfalls, porridge on the road;
  • however, owner reviews indicate that the models of this company create much more noise when driving on clean asphalt, and the level of wear resistance is much lower.

What size will fit

Each of us was once a novice car owner, who was frightened by a lot in the design of the car. How to understand what exactly is broken? How to fill in oil? And, of course, how to choose the right tire size?

Now we will describe in detail what resources exist on the network that can help understand this issue. We will consider a specific example of a BMW X5 car.

  1. First of all, modern technologies provide us with the fact that any information can be obtained without leaving home. For example, if you are looking for winter tires from Sava or any other manufacturer, check out one of the many sites that will help you find the right size tires. There you will only need to enter the name of the brand, model, engine size and year of manufacture.
  2. Another option for determining the size of tires, which is popular, according to the owners of winter tires Sawa Eskimo, are tables. To determine, you only need to know what is the outer radius of the disk. Substituting this value, you can easily determine what you need in your case. To determine the size of the disk on the forums of motorists, it is easy to find step-by-step lessons with photos.

Points of sale addresses

As we all know, the price of a particular product can vary depending on the place of purchase. For example, you need to know that after reading reviews about winter tires Sava, and purchasing it, the price in Minsk will differ significantly from the price in Moscow.

Sava is owned by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Corporation, which bought it in 1998.

Which concern owns the brand Sava

The history of the Sava brand begins in 1920, when Atlanta Import/Export Company was founded by enthusiasts in Kranj, which was soon renamed Vulkan.

In 1931, the company becomes the property of the Austrian company Semperit, which a year later significantly expanded production, mastering the market for bicycle tires and technical rubber products.

A major role in the development of the company was played by the start of the production of tires for cars in 1946. At the same time, the brand was nationalized and it was decided to rename it to SAVA Rubber Products Company in accordance with the name of the river flowing through the city.

In 1998, the first tire was produced at the Sava factories under the direction of the Goodyear concern. Sava is the largest Slovenian company for rubber products, steadily expanding its position in European markets.

Sava Eskimo S3 MS

Tire pros:
  • excellent grip on wet roads due to the use of a unique rubber composition with a silica base, which contributes to intensive energy dissipation in winter;
  • reduced stiffness at low temperatures due to unique polymer technology;
  • excellent cross-country ability, high braking performance combined with handling and safety, achieved thanks to the winter tread pattern with high sipe density and an increase in the number of engagement edges;
  • intense hydroplaning resistance resulting from the use of a directional tread pattern and three longitudinal channels.

Among the shortcomings of rubber, drivers indicate:

  • increased stopping distance;
  • poor adhesion to snow and ice;
  • the thinness of the sidewall;
  • fast wear.

Sawa Eskimo Stud

This is an upgraded version of the popular Goodyear UltraGrip Extreme winter model. Tire pros:

  • demonstrate excellent grip on various types of surfaces, including ice, which is facilitated by the symmetrical directional pattern of the tread pattern, its V-shaped optimized design and the use of a large number of hexagonal studs;
  • are characterized by excellent elasticity at low temperatures and high abrasion resistance due to an improved rubber compound containing a polymer with a high percentage of silicon-containing components.

From the point of view of vehicle owners, Eskimo Stud tires exhibit softness and floatability at positive temperatures, as well as the noise characteristic of all studded tires.

Tires Sava Eskimo ICE

Inexpensive model with the following advantages:

  • increased controllability and grip during acceleration, due to the presence of a central longitudinal rib in the "hook-rib" system;
  • extended and extended contact patch due to the multi-radius tread profile;
  • improved handling at high speeds and confident grip at low temperatures due to the use of a two-layer tread, the inner layer of which is harder than the outer one;
  • Enhanced slash-planning resistance and long-term performance thanks to increased tread depth, beveled shoulder areas and flared tread grooves.

Judging by the reviews, the Eskimo ICE Velcro practically does not cause any complaints from motorists, showing, perhaps, some uncertainty on ice.

Sava Perfect tires

Tire pros:

  • long run;
  • good grip on wet asphalt;
  • reduced risk of aquaplaning;
  • low noise and increased wear resistance;
  • four-rib tread design;
  • tire contour optimization;
  • the use of a special composition of the rubber compound.

To these factors should be added:

  • wide longitudinal and radial drainage grooves;
  • different sizes of tread blocks;
  • optimized distribution.

Among the shortcomings of Perfecta tires, motorists attribute a fair amount of softness to the sidewall.

Tires Sava Intensa HP

  • increased service life due to the use of a polymer composition and a new rubber compound based on silica;
  • extended contact patch and improved pressure distribution in it by optimizing the shape of the tread blocks and a flatter bottom of the grooves;
  • improved grip on different types of surfaces due to the large number of engagement edges and the use of optimized sipes in the central and shoulder tread areas.

Car owners point to the noise and softness of the sidewall of Intensa HP tires.

I bought tires before the 2016 season, mileage for 3 winter seasons ~ 80000 km, mostly highway
I will list what I liked:
1) at any sub-zero temperature they do not tan, even at -35°C they remain elastic
2) that bare asphalt that loose and not very snow grip is excellent, never stuck
3) noise is less than bigstone ice cruiser 7000
4) spikes do not fall out, maybe 1-2 per season no more.

Now "-"
1) there are no cons for me, I liked everything. Before the season I decided to check the tires, it turned out to be worn out to 4-5mm. and this is a critical wear. The bases of the spikes are all in place and the cores were built, so it's almost Velcro. I decided to buy the same new ones, I didn’t find on sale the size that I need for winter tires, namely 195 / 55R15, they are apparently being discontinued, although there is not a word about this on their manufacturer’s website.
In general, I recommend this tire model to everyone, it is in no way inferior to hakapelite 8 (there was an experience of 1500 km)

I live in the Krasnodar Territory, I took new tires, this year we can say that there was no winter at all, I did not spare the rubber. I went into corners so that I thought that I would go into a skid, but no. Rubber keeps on dry pavement well, despite the fact that it is studded. Didn't notice any hydroplaning. After 130 starts to swim. During the winter I lost only one spike, although once again I repeat the aggressive driving style. Virtually no wear. Rushing through the mud like a tank, never let me down.

I got it when buying a car, completely new, I drove 2 thousand km, I’m not satisfied with the tires, it’s noisy, you constantly start to slip on ice, although you don’t accelerate much, very often the abs works when braking, in long turns it blows your ass! Maybe, of course, I was not lucky with the quality, made in Poland, size 195 60 15, Toyota Corolla.

Mitsubishi Lancer IX bought Sava studded tires in 2012. Departure for 6 seasons and I don't know how long it will last. Shipov 2/3 left that's for sure. Those that put on before a little more worn out, which is natural. And on snow porridge and on ice and snow rolling, they behave confidently. Of course, if you drive with your head. Noisy on bare pavement, well, the spikes are the same. In general, excellent tires. Bought a summer set. Let's see what summer shows.

Sava Eskimo Studio 175/65 14 is very pleased with the tires. I drove for 1 season, about 15 thousand kilometers in mixed mode on the city highway. The driving style is fast, but not aggressive. Rubber price-quality, until they stop production, I will only take it and advise others.

That year, I sat on the Internet for 2 weeks in the evenings - I chose tires - reviews, reviews, comparisons, etc. - well, the budget was certain small - everything converged to one brand Sava eskimo stud - studded, I often drive on the highway, and this is the most ideal rubber (ugh , pah, pah) of all that were - Velcro breeches, Michelin Xnors spikes, Nexen spikes - I just couldn’t get enough of it - it keeps it on the reel, and it rows snow, it doesn’t burrow. The price is social, only few places sell it.

Good afternoon, I will share a little impressions about this tire. I bought these tires in 2016, winter, spikes, size 185/65/15, production (Poland), Hyundai Solaris car. Departure for two seasons, lost on one tire, one spike. When buying, I doubted, since the brand was not promoted, but the seller said that I would not regret it. And so it happened, I have never regretted that I bought these tires. They hold the road well at speed, in ice, they drive well in slush and snow, a small spike, so the tires are not noisy, even if you consider that there is no noise in Solaris. So there were only positive emotions from the operation of this tire, I bought a kit for 9600 rubles, I think that the quality is higher than the price. Not a novice driver, officially 34 years behind the wheel.

Good overall feel, very tenacious, soft, not very noisy. For 2 seasons, wear is not noticeable, but on a jammed wheel I drove several meters along a slippery road and noticeable damage. In general, happy with the choice.

This rubber has been on all working machines for the third year. Last year I bought it on a car. I am completely satisfied, for three years all the spikes are in place. A copy of the GOODYEAR model of 2010. One concern.

As I understood from the reviews, this is the former GudYYrovskaya model. Then it was taken out of production, and the model, which successfully proved itself in its time, was licensed by Sava. What it delivers to this day - 2 seasons, the spikes are almost in place. The experience of driving in winter for 7 years (since the autumn of 2011) is like this (I have a rear-wheel drive, Ford Scorpio 2): the first winter I got tires from the forefront - there was some kind of combined rogue hodgepodge. A miracle, as usual, did not happen - prefabricated hodgepodges of unknown origin always fail on the roads. In general, I decided to first buy new tires on the trail. winter, then summer, then updated the wheels - there are no problems with the wheels. The first winter tires were bought by Gryzhstone IceCruiser 7000 195 \ 65 \ 15, then I bought a pair from Hankook Winter iPike, switching to 205 \ 65, a softer format for our roads, then on the next winter I already bought this model instead of the last pair of Bridgestones Sawa, too 205 \ 65 \ 15, so there is something to compare "in real time")) Sava - in terms of strength it turned out to be no worse than the Bridges, and in terms of handling and driving sensations - a little worse than the Hankooks. I didn’t like the breeches very much, because it went relatively easily into the breakdown of the rear wheels. Hankooks - the best handling and tenacity (even after the middle of the second season, when almost all the spikes fell off - the eternal disease of this model) - the rubber kept the road perfectly. Savas row much better than Breeches, the difference is especially noticeable in the snow. Handling is not bad, although the new Hankooks were better. Noise is standard noise. For the second season, they said in the tavern that the rubber was oaky, poorly balanced, or it became such from the summer bed - they stored it incorrectly (pff, in the country my, batins and mother's wheels are constantly stored like this in neat piles horizontally - everything was always balanced). I thought that it was, but, judging by the reviews, the shank is shitty. One disk was ruled by the sledgehammer method, so they also took a horse price tag as a result - I will look for a good office for winter changing shoes, because they got it - the disks spoiled everything for me. For the winter I plan to buy 1 more pair of these Sav. In general, a successful modelka. I won’t set the maximum ratings - tires 2 times more expensive will definitely win this battle)

Sava is one of the most reputable and recognizable European brands. In the mid-90s, the American Goodyear gradually began to buy their shares. The accession process ended in 2004. Sava received heavy investments, scientific and technological potential and testing grounds of the world giant, in return giving away its production and human resources. As time has shown, everyone won. At the moment, Sava is a very respected and reliable manufacturer with a democratic pricing policy. The company continues to grow, improve and delight fans of the brand with quality tires.

Sava quality control system

According to the EU tire quality criteria, each model is evaluated and labeled on three parameters - rolling resistance, noise and wet grip. In addition to the mandatory EU criteria, Sava, on its own initiative, tests its products both with internal tests (50 tests) and with the involvement of independent centers (15 tests):

  • Stiftung Warentest, the most respected German consumer protection organization
  • OAMTC, an independent non-profit automobile association of Austrian drivers
  • Test World, a Finnish company specialized in testing winter tires in the harsh conditions of Lapland
  • TÜV SÜD, a German expert association that needs no further introduction; 140 years of experience in safety testing

Sawa handwriting, key characteristics

Sava tires, as a rule, embody the developments proven over the years, united under common principles - comfort, reliability and safety, that is, exactly the qualities for which everyone loves Goodyear. At the same time, when buying Sava, there is no need to pay the costs of the parent corporation for the development, testing and implementation of new technologies - everything has already been paid by the customers of the American brand. In fact, the existing trend of merging manufacturers from different price niches is an effective way to counter the invasion of cheap tires from Asia, which for the most part are trying to copy and reduce the cost of tire technology leaders. Subsidiary European divisions use technologies directly from the flagships of the industry, but at the same time without Chinese flaws in execution.

Self-hodoff is the best choice for buying Sava tires

At your service the widest range on any car. With the help of a convenient tire selection program, you can see the optimal parameters. If anything is unclear, our managers will be happy to help and tell you. Well, the most pleasant moment is our price tag without unnecessary markups, you will like the numbers. Regular promotions, such as free tire fitting for a number of models.
