In 2018, the second restyling of the third generation Nissan X-Trail T32 entered the Russian market. The car entered the Chinese and American markets earlier than us, possibly due to legal nuances - the installation of ERA-GLONASS and so on. Visually, the new product began to look more like, well, let's move on to a more detailed review.

Design

Externally, the crossover has not been weakly updated. Looking at the face, a new radiator grill with a V-shaped chrome insert is visible. The grille is equipped with active flaps that open at elevated engine temperatures and close otherwise to improve aerodynamics.

The corrected optics is visible, it directs the beam of light depending on the rotation of the wheels. In basic configurations, the filling is halogen, in the top ones - LED. A glossy insert to the bumper departs from the headlights at the bottom. The bumper itself has become more aggressive due to the increase in abrupt transitions, its detailing is really cool. At the bottom, on a black insert, there are rectangular fog lamps, and at the very bottom, on a plastic protection, a chrome insert in the center.

From the side, everything is about the same. The shapes are mostly smooth, but not without sharpness. The inflated wheel arches are massively chamfered and thin black plastic protection. At the bottom, the sills are complemented by a chrome line. Chrome is embedded on the door handles, roof rails and window frame edging. Sharp lines are present in the back, but they are minimal.

Nissan X-Trail alloy wheels size:

  • 225/65 / R17;
  • 225/60 / R18;
  • 225/55 / R19.

The feed of the crossover has received modified lights with LED filling. The upper section of the boot lid is complemented by an anti-wing for aerodynamics. The lid itself is slightly curved, the central part is decorated with a chrome line, and at the very bottom there is a handle for opening the fifth door. The less massive bumper is well detailed, especially the plastic protection with chrome line and integrated reflectors.

Body dimensions:

  • length - 4690 mm;
  • width - 1820 mm;
  • height - 1700 mm;
  • wheelbase - 2705 mm;
  • ground clearance - 210 mm.

Body colors:

  • White;
  • white mother-of-pearl;
  • black;
  • Gray;
  • silver;
  • blue;
  • olive;
  • Orange.

Salon

All owners note pleasant skin and high-quality assembly inside the car. Well, there will be no leather in the base, and the fabric is not so pleasant. The architecture of the salon has practically not changed, only some little things.

The front seats are heated and look slightly sporty due to a little lateral support. The back sofa is just as comfortable with a folding armrest. There is also a third row of seats for two passengers. Cup holders are inserted there, but there is no need to talk about free space at all - its minimum is at the back, in line with the rest of the rows.

Sheathing colors:

  • black perforated leather;
  • beige perforated leather;
  • black cloth.

The driver of the 2018-2019 Nissan X-Trail gets a 3-spoke D-shaped steering wheel with chrome lines and buttons. The steering wheel is adjustable for reach and height. The instrument panel is equipped with two recessed wells, in which the speedometer and tachometer are integrated. In the center is a 5-inch information display of the on-board computer with 12 information modes.

The center console is made of high-gloss plastic. In the center there is a 7-inch touchscreen multimedia display with Yandex Auto, which supports all the functions available to a regular smartphone, that is, at least you will have a navigator. Buttons and washers are inserted around for quick setting of the most important functions. Below is a climate control unit with 9 buttons, two washers and one monitor to show the selected settings.

The tunnel first received an electronic parking brake button - not the most convenient location, usually it is placed after the gearshift lever. Here, behind the lever below, cup holders are inserted and at the end of all this we see a washer for adjusting the all-wheel drive and heated seats.

A panoramic sunroof is an optional pleasure.

The trunk is accessed by electric drive, and the floor of the compartment is lined with pile. Trunk volume is 565 liters, but this is with the third row folded down the Nissan X-Trail T32. Folding all the rear seats, you get 1996 liters of volume.

Technical characteristics of motors

Type of Volume Power Torque Overclocking Maximum speed Number of cylinders
Diesel 1.6 l 130 h.p. 320 H * m 11 sec. 186 km / h 4
Petrol 2.0 l 144 h.p. 200 H * m 11.1 sec. 183 km / h 4
Petrol 2.5 l 171 h.p. 233 H * m 10.5 sec. 190 km / h 4

The range of engines has not changed in any way, everything is also offered two petrol and one diesel internal combustion engines.

  1. First 4-cylinder engine MR20DD 2 liters produces 144 horsepower and 200 H * m of torque. Consumption is higher than 11 liters in the city, on the highway - 6.6 liters. With dynamics, everything is bad - 11 seconds to hundreds and 183 km / h of maximum speed.
  2. Second engine QR25DE due to the 2.5-liter volume, it produces 171 horsepower and 233 units of torque. Fuel consumption does not change, and dynamics improves by half a second with an increase in top speed to 190 km / h.
  3. Diesel turbo engine Y9M with a 1.6-liter displacement, it delivers 130 horsepower to the wheels at 4000 rpm and 320 H * m of torque from idle. Diesel is the most economical - 6 liters in the city and 4.8 liters on the highway. The dynamics do not change in any way.

The pair is a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT variator. The moment is transmitted in the younger version to the front wheels, and the older ones receive the ALL Mode 4x4i all-wheel drive system, which transfers power to the rear wheels when slipping through an automatic clutch.

Crossover chassis

The restyled car is built on an upgraded Common Modular Family platform with front wheels and semi-independent rear suspension. The driving experience is at the same level.

The electric power steering Nissan X-Trail 2019-2020 changes its gear ratios depending on the driving style. The steering wheel has become heavier, in fact, this is a setting for Russian drivers, they love this, because I think that the car has grabbed onto the road.

Disc brakes in a circle with ABS and front ventilation. The suspension is not intended for off-road use, although it has some systems. All the same, it is a city car, but it can pass on easy off-road.

Not really about the suspension, but you need to tell. The car is equipped with a package of security systems Intelligent Mobility: parking assistance system, which analyzes the situation around through cameras; cameras analyze the situation when driving in reverse, and also control the distance from the front, independently applying the brake when necessary.

Price and configuration

There are a huge number of complete sets, which can be seen in the table. The starting price tag of the car has practically not changed, for the XE configuration you need to pay 1,601,000 rubles, having received the following equipment:

  • 2-liter engine on mechanics;
  • Cruise control;
  • heated front seats;
  • emergency braking assistance;
  • ESP stabilization system;
  • control of the trajectory of movement;
  • LED daytime running lights;
  • mechanical seat adjustment;
  • audio system for 4 speakers.

The most expensive configuration with a 2.5-liter engine costs 2,191,000 rubles, with the addition of:

  • heated rear seats;
  • lane control;
  • control of blind spots;
  • automatic parking system;
  • all-round view;
  • rear view camera;
  • keyless entry;
  • electric tailgate;
  • audio system for 6 speakers;
  • 19-inch wheels;
  • leather interior;
  • a hatch with a panoramic view;
  • electrically adjustable seats;
  • LED headlights;
  • fog lights;
  • navigation system.

Well, the restyled Nissan X-Trail T32 hasn't changed much, it just caught up with modern competitors. You should not change to it from, but if you have past generations, then you can, you will not regret it for sure.

Children's sores Nissan X-Trail T32 (2013 - 2018, restyling 2017 - present).

So, we have before us the most criticized generation of Nissan X-trail, that is, the third and, at the moment, the last, and already presented in a light restyling. Something has changed, but something remains the same. The audience was initially biased towards the new generation, due to a completely different appearance. I often see comments like - "T31 is better than T32, because the 31st does not look like Nissan Qashqai like two peas in a pod." It turns out that the last X-trail has lost its individuality (that is, "brutality"), and it is now confused with the cheaper "Qashqai", which is not prestigious for many Russians. But the demand for crossovers is increasing every day, and the Nissan brand does not want to be an outsider, which can be seen in their lineup. Nissan has a crossover of every size and taste.

Personally, I like the T32 more than the T31. He looks more solid, larger. For rear passengers, the legroom has been increased, thereby reducing the trunk. Now X-trail can boast of modern options, displays, technologies. The front "torpedo" looked younger and kept up with the times, and not as before, as if it was borrowed from cars from the 80s. As for the "sores", the T32 inherited something from its predecessor, got its own, but fixed something, for example, the tailgate is now plastic, on the previous body it rusted. About sores a little later, now let's go over the technical part and the filling.

The petrol engines have added a bit of power. 2.0 liters began to produce 145 liters. s, and 2.5 l - 172 horsepower. Acceleration from the first to 100 km / h takes - 11.9 seconds, the mixed fuel consumption - 9.6 liters per 100 km, the second, respectively - 10.4 to the first hundred and 11 liters per hundred kilometers. The power of the "turbo-diesel" dropped to a modest 130 "horses", the volume is now 1.6 liters, acceleration to 100 km / h in 11 seconds, and the combined consumption is 6 liters. Six-speed "mechanics" is available for front-wheel drive vehicles or diesel, in other cases - only a variator. The traditional assault rifle is no longer present in any modification. The all-wheel drive scheme is the same - the rear axle is switched on through the clutch automatically or forcibly (works up to 40 km / h) with a key in the cabin. The impressive ground clearance for the crossover is 210 mm. But do not forget about the large overhang of the front bumper, which will reduce the angle of entry, but the imitation of the differential lock will help level the situation, because it works perfectly.

Basic equipment: dual-zone climate control, el. heated windshield, 6 airbags, el. heated and folding mirrors, stability control, cruise control, heated front seats, audio system with Bluetooth and USB-AUX.

In the maximum configuration (plus to the basic one): leather interior with heated all seats and steering wheel, light and rain sensor, a package of safety options (keeping in the lane, "blind spots", driver fatigue, automatic parking), LED optics, panoramic roof, electric ... tailgate drive (hands - free), keyless entry, all-round cameras, navigation system, el. seat drive.

Weaknesses of the third generation Nissan Ixtrail or what to look for when buying a used one.

You can read about the sores of the transmission and engines (not the fact that they will appear, but it's worth reading), you can read in the predecessor - since the T32 is built on the same units. Here I tried to collect the problems of the last body.

Electrician

at subzero temperatures it is impossible to adjust the temperature of the climate control (it blows very hot, even at 16 degrees) - incorrect operation of the climate control control unit (RF assembly) replace the control unit from a new revision, Nissan does not see this as a problem and refuses a guarantee, even in restyling the problem was not solved, only a few cases of replacing the unit under warranty were recorded, this problem occurs on almost every car
steering wheel icon is on, 4WD error, climate control does not turn on or turns on by itself - poor wiring contact soldering of all connectors "CAN-bus", from 2017 a new block of "CAN-module"
error - "the key system is faulty or the key code is incorrect" - change the battery in the key

- do not keep the alarm key fob together with the standard key (system conflict is possible)

- if you need to start the car - bring the key to the "start-stop" button

- if all else fails - solder the CAN-bus connectors

squeak of the steering wheel when rotating (in cold weather) - poor-quality rubber band (between the shaft and the body) of the steering "cardan" replace the gum with an upgraded one or lubricate the gap between the gum and the steering column (oil, lithol)
the paint on the steering wheel is quickly erased paint or alter

Suspension

the creak of the front shock absorbers on irregularities (more often at subzero temperatures) - the bumpers of the struts jump out of their regular places lower the bumpers down the stem and lubricate them (lithol, silicone) or install modified
constantly peeling off the "Nissan" emblems on the radiator grille and tailgate better to tint - than to change under warranty
a gap is formed between the windshield and the trim under the wipers glue the cover on the "adhesive sealant"
"Cricket" in the tailgate grease the trunk lock, wind electrical tape around the lock bracket
the bolts under the chrome trim of the tailgate are rusting replace bolts with clips
the gap between the front bumper and the headlight - over time, the bumper sags and bends the mounts, since it is heavy eliminate at the office. dealer or make fasteners from a turner (drawings are at the X-trail club, author -yarovoy)

Engine (diesel)

if the particulate filter is clogged and does not clean itself, pay attention to the quality of the diesel peel or "cut" by putting trompe l'oeil
do not start (does not start well) in cool weather, error in the "start-stop" system - check the glow plugs and the operation of the control unit, check the battery charge level and the generator replace: spark plugs, battery, plug control unit, repair generator

Transmission (diesel)

Reverse gear "takes off", manual transmission replace gears or apply for warranty

As you can see, the main ailments are savings. The problem is in the poor quality of the components, and not in the assembly of the car under "Peter". It is understandable, a spacious and well-equipped car, it costs less than the "Koreans". The manufacturer has to save money and subsequently, this is reflected in the brand's reputation. It seems like the Nissan X Trail is a set of compromises. And, with each new generation, there are more of these compromises. If you are periodically ready to run around the car, with a can of silicone lubricant and manually control the "automatic" climate control, you can consider "Ixtrail T32" for purchase. If you manage to buy a car under warranty, then "almost" all problems will be solved by the dealer, if you can, of course, prove to him that your case is under warranty.

But, before purchasing, be sure to diagnose the variator, and after buying, immediately change the oil in it (every 40 t.km). Perhaps the T32 will have new sores, the model is relatively recent on the Russian market, so do not hesitate to supplement.

This article provides fairly detailed information about the latest generation Russian-made Nissan X-Trail in the T32 body - information about the engine and transmission, trim levels. Also given are technical characteristics, a small review is made, and the advantages and disadvantages of the model are discussed.

Produced generations

The famous Japanese crossover Nissan X-Trail has gained considerable popularity in Russia; it is characterized by high reliability, excellent technical characteristics, and exquisite design.

During the production of the brand, three generations have changed, the very first cars were first produced at home, in Japan.

The history of Ixtrail begins in September 2000, when the car was shown at the Paris Motor Show.

The 1st generation Nissan X Trail in the T30 body is based on the Nissan FF-S platform, from the very beginning of production the model is produced in 4x4 versions and with front-wheel drive.

The second generation Ixtrail T31 was first introduced in Geneva in 2007 and is based on the Nissan C platform.

The third version of the crossover appeared in the fall of 2013, and in December of the same year, the car began to be sold in Japan.

The new car in the T32 body was created on the basis of the Nissan CMF; the assembly of this model is carried out in many countries of the world, including the Russian Federation.

Nissan X-Trail T32 assembled in Russia

The "Japanese" is produced at the Nissan plant, built in St. Petersburg, the first Ixtrail in Russia rolled off the assembly line in November 2009, and the plant workers began production of the third generation in December 2014.

A car in the back of T32 for Russians is offered:

  • in seven trim levels;
  • in versions with full and front wheel drive;
  • with two petrol and one diesel engines;
  • with mechanical 6-speed Gearbox and variator (CVT).

Nissan Qashqai and Ikstrail in the latest versions are often compared with each other, since the models are in many ways similar, they can even be confused from afar.

But in previous generations, cars were completely different in design, and they had few common parts.

The new Nissan X Trail 3 is larger than Kashkai, it is longer, taller and wider, and has a 76 mm longer wheelbase.

But the crossover is good not only for its large size, it is also presented in a fairly rich equipment, and on its "board" even in the base there are many different options.

Engines and transmission

In the line of power units of the crossover, there are two gasoline internal combustion engines:

  • QR25DE, 2.5L, 171L with.;
  • MR20DD, 2.0L 144HP with.

Both engines are 4-cylinder, 16-valve, injection. When driving around the city, there is no big difference in the volume of the internal combustion engine, cars with both engines start equally briskly, the dynamics are good and even.

Diesel Nissan X Trail - 1.6 L, Y9M models, turbocharged, 130 hp. with., four-cylinder in-line.

By the way, the diesel engine is only paired with a manual transmission with all-wheel drive, the 2.5-liter QR25DE internal combustion engine is equipped with a CVT also with a 4x4 transmission.

The MR20DD engine is available in all versions: with manual transmission and CVT, 2WD and 4WD.

CVT Nissan X Trail received seven virtual gears, and the driver now has the ability to manually brake the engine.

X-Tronic works on the principle of a classic torque converter automatic transmission - when accelerating and changing to another, the top gear it slows down somewhat.

Trunk and interior

Compared to the previous generation T31, the Nissan X Trail T32 has increased in size, and the trunk has grown accordingly, its volume in the new model is 497 liters.

The seats in the second row move back and forth, and the backrests tilt, which can increase the load area slightly.

The rear door is equipped with an electric drive for opening the lock (hands-free system), in the luggage compartment there are two shelves that allow you to put the load in two tiers.

The Hands-Free system works in this way: if the owner of the car has a car key in his pocket, it is enough to bring his hand to the trunk lock, and the electric drive will work, the door will open automatically.

On the back seat, passengers should not feel cramped: there is so much back room that even a person under two meters tall will have a small space above their head, and their knees do not rest on the front seat.

There is no tunnel in the middle of the floor at the back, and all three rear passengers are equally comfortable.

The trim in the car's interior does not cause any complaints: the assembly is of high quality, the materials are of good quality. The doors open at an angle of 77 degrees, which provides comfortable boarding and disembarkation of passengers.

Nissan X Trail specifications

Ikstrail T32 assembled in Russia has very good off-road qualities even in the 4x2 version, good cross-country ability is ensured thanks to the ground clearance of 210 mm.

The car is equipped with a classic crossover suspension: MacPherson strut in front, and a multi-link design on the rear axle.

The car is equipped with all disc brakes, anti-lock braking system ABS and EBD brake distributor.

On the T32, depending on the configuration, 17th and 18th wheel disks are installed, the steering control provides the ability to change the steering effort.

The wheelbase is 2705 mm, the curb weight depends on the modification of the crossover, and ranges from 1445 to 1637 kg.

The maximum permissible weight of a loaded car is 2130 kg, the carrying capacity of the car is 435 kg.

The length of the new Nissan X Trail is 4640 and 1820 mm - width, height is measured in two values: with roof rails, it is 1715 mm, without rails - 1700 mm.

Nissan X-Trail fuel consumption may vary depending on the type of gearbox, engine, wheel drive (2WD or 4WD).

In the basic version 4x2 with an internal combustion engine MR20DD and manual transmission-6, the car consumes per 100 km:

  • in the city - 11.2 liters;
  • on the highway - 7.3 liters;
  • in mixed mode highway / city - 8.6 liters.

According to the passport data, fuel consumption does not exceed 11.3 liters (12.5 liters CVT), the minimum consumption per "hundred" 4.8 liters - on the highway by a car with a diesel engine and "mechanics".

Nissan X Trail complete set

In total, the Russian-assembled Ixtrail is available in seven trim levels, the simplest of which is the XE variant.

The basic version includes:

  • heated windshield, mirrors and front seats;
  • six airbags;
  • ABS, EBA and EBD systems to improve braking performance;
  • driver assistance systems in motion HHC, HDC, ESP;
  • electric drives for all windows and side mirrors;
  • audio system with four speakers and support for MP3, with CD player and steering wheel controls;
  • on-board computer;
  • immobilizer with central locking;
  • (two-zone).

Already in the base, the car is equipped with cast wheels R17 disks and a full-size spare tire.

The maximum equipment is LE Urban +, in this version additional options are significantly expanded, there is keyless access, leather interior, front fog lights, parking / rain / light sensors, all-round visibility system.

The "charged" version of the X-Trail has 6 speakers, 18-radius alloy wheels, and an electrically operated panoramic roof, the engine is started from a button.

For the convenience of analyzing the characteristics of the Nissan X-Trail NEW (T32), I will compare them with the characteristics of the well-known and well-proven in Russia Nissan X-Trail dCi (T31) with a reliable and economical diesel engine M9R (2.0, 150/173 hp). , 320/360 Nm) paired with one of the best hydromechanical automatic transmission "Jatco" AJ0, which is also installed on some modifications of the Volkswagen Tiguan (turbodiesel, 2.0 turbo petrol), Mitsubishi Outlander (3.0 petrol), etc. T31 - from March 2013; T32 - from April 2015) and in similar conditions. Given that the features and differences in characteristics, as well as the advantages of the previous generation Nissan X-Trail - T31 dCi in comparison with analogues of other brands, are also well known, in essence, such a comparison will be carried out both between the X-Trail T32 and T31, and in comparison with other analogue crossovers. Т31 dCi AWD + hydromechanical automatic transmission: Excellent in design and sometimes problematic in performance, the car (as luck would have it) from the standpoint of the quality of the Russian assembly, mainly concerning the processing and painting of the rear door, as well as STABLE !!! negative system of relationships with the Nissan Russia representative office and individual official dealers, when customers are needed only "to pump out money." As an SUV, the diesel version of the X-Trail dCi (T31) surpasses almost all crossovers and is not inferior to a number of more famous and expensive real SUVs. In the sands of Rybinsk, it has been repeatedly tested and shown that with the appropriate tires (for example, Toyo AT 235/60 R17), the T31 is at least as good as Nissan Pathfinder (the X-Trail is lighter, with a shorter wheelbase and decent geometric characteristics) and Freelander-2 (more "automation", but less "live" locks). Advantages of Т31dCi: ON THE HIGHWAY - "tight" suspension and adequate handling with good feedback; instant "load acceptance" and decent engine elasticity; gorgeous dynamics and safe overtaking; profitability; OFF-ROAD - sufficient and predictable traction characteristics of the engine in all modes and driving conditions; reliable, durable and well-tuned hydromechanical automatic transmission (sometimes "smarter" even than experienced drivers) with a shortened first gear (additionally performing the function of a transfer case); sufficient geometric parameters and ground clearance; the possibility of forced "hard blocking of the interaxle clutch; good setting of the traction control system + electronic blocking of interaxle differentials. The above advantages are characteristic only for the dCI configuration in conjunction with a hydromechanical automatic transmission. All this, with the appropriate driver qualifications and decent tires, allows you to feel confident and safe in almost any road conditions. Along with reliability, these are the main and distinctive features of the Nissan X-Trail dCi T31, which we managed to integrate into a single whole and which are absent from analogues in such a composition and combination. Compared to the T31 dCi + automatic transmission, all other modifications of the X-Trail T31 (with gasoline engines, a variator (CVT), etc.), as well as the new T32 - SUVs as such are NOT already and are becoming similar to other crossovers, then there are ... station wagons with a high roof and four-wheel drive. Т31 dCi is a reasonable, sufficient and very successful compromise for Russia, which occupies a highly demanded niche in Russia between crossovers and real SUVs and which is enough for any occasions on the asphalt or on the “reasonable” off-road. After analyzing promising models of more or less serious crossovers (and SUVs, which essentially became the same crossovers, with the exception of units) for the next 3-5 years from the standpoint of their purpose and Russian operating conditions, I was once again convinced that the concept and practical implementation in the Nissan X-Trail T31 dCi technical and technological solutions were correct and very successful. Special thanks for the fact that a "bunch" of excellent hydromechanical automatic transmission was provided in tandem with the dCi M9R. This is how the X-Trail NEW (T32) should have been (taking into account the purpose, new technologies, wishes of drivers, etc.)! Below (in the following sections of the review), we will consider what actually happened. Unfortunately, the representative office of Nissan Russia and individual official Nissan dealers, instead of properly fulfilling their obligations, promptly eliminating deficiencies, attentive attitude and effective assistance to car owners, "very successfully" implement opposite tasks with a similar result for both parties. Moreover (and surprisingly) it is obvious that the "ideologue" of such a "confrontation" in most cases is the Nissan Russia office itself. Actually and unfortunately, in Russia this applies to the overwhelming majority of dealerships ... Т32 2.0 (petrol) CVT AWD: Comparison of Т32 will be carried out only in relation to transmissions with a variator (CVT). As for the manual transmission, then (in short) its main advantage over modern and very efficient automatic transmissions (incl. CVT) mostly at a lower cost and some nuances that "for ordinary" drivers are not important. In the T32, in general terms, the solutions implemented on the T31, well-proven and already proven solutions, have been preserved. However, almost all of these improvements did NOT make it better, more reliable and more comfortable (except for perfect asphalt) compared to the T31. As it turned out, in Russia, the T32 and Qashqai NEW DOES NOT have (?!) A similar T31 and one of the decent diesel versions with a powerful TURBO-DIESEL + four-wheel drive + HYDROMECHANICAL !!! Automatic transmission, which, as shown by operating experience, on off-road (heavy soil, sand, field, ascent, etc.), as well as where wheel slip is contraindicated, has proven its superiority even in comparison with manual transmission and works more comfortably and predictably for beginners and mid-range drivers, has a smoother response to the gas pedal, not to mention the benefits and convenience / comfort in urban environments. In short, and "without nuances", the T32 currently produced in Russia with a 1.6 dCi turbodiesel + manual transmission + four-wheel drive does NOT have the above advantages inherent in the T31 dCi. The range of gear ratios for the T32 dCi manual gearbox and the transmission as a whole, with a lower power dCi 1.6, is somewhat inferior to the same indicator for the automatic transmission and the T31 dCi transmission (including due to the torque converter), which in "difficult" conditions requires higher skills from the driver, increases the likelihood of failure or accelerated wear of the clutch T32 dCi 1.6 manual transmission "at the most inopportune moment", can lead to a sharp breakdown in wheel slip (when this is not at all necessary and not expected) with all the consequences ... "moment, that is, a higher and generally, in my opinion, overpriced T32 dCi 1.6 + manual transmission, then it (with all my personal respect for the car) is practically" doomed "as in the countryside (due to the high cost and" no "off-road properties), and in the city (for that kind of money and ... on the handle). Except when there are no comrades for taste and color. While in Europe, I had a chance to ride a T32 dCi 1.6 + CVT + FRONT drive (from a technical point of view, this is a complete analogue of the NEW dCi 1.6 Qashqai produced in Russia). On the pavement, the car behaves well. With a quiet ride on suburban highways, low fuel consumption pleases. However (compared to the T31 dCi), when overtaking at "running" speeds (from 90-100 km / h and higher), there is a lack of 1.6 diesel power for the heavier T32, with all the consequences. .. Based on the experience of the previous 3-year operation of Qashqai + 2 with CVT, I think that in the conditions of Russia and based on our expectations (as a crossover with increased cross-country ability), both for Qashqai NEW dCi 1.6 and T32 dCi 1.6 are "dangerous" and it is inexpedient to link a variator (CVT) with a high-torque (320 Nm) diesel engine from the standpoint of reliability and CVT resource, which is equivalent to "playing roulette". To summarize, then both T32 (dCi + manual transmission + four-wheel drive) and Qashqai NEW (1.6 dCi + CVT (instead of automatic transmission) + ONLY front (!?) Drive in Russia will "ruin" or the absence of a decent diesel engine and hydromechanical automatic transmission ( for T32), or lack of all-wheel drive (for NEW Qashqai) + high cost (compared to richer "petrol" trim levels) + insufficient cross-country ability due to unfortunate geometric characteristics of the "problem" front bumper. volume (1.6), the diesel engine due to its higher "load" and the greater mass of the T32 car will have a lower resource (or reliability) compared to the MR9 diesel engine currently used on the T31. the transition to Euro-5, in practice, it seems unlikely that a 15-20% decrease in fuel consumption, widely advertised by the manufacturer, was not possible. and areas with a "ragged rhythm", but the fuel consumption of gasoline cars is higher than those declared by the manufacturer and NOT lower than that of the T31 with the worst (?!) dynamics of the T32. A trifle, but ... What are the PROSPECTS for the diesel version of the T32 dCi? To maintain the "conquered" T31 dCI positions and ensure the competitiveness of the T32 dCi, in the next 2-3 years, it is planned to release its diesel version with SIMILAR (like the T31) 2-liter turbodiesel (about 180 hp and 380 Nm) and a HYDROMECHANICAL automatic transmission! Another would be to "retouch" the front bumper and then there will be complete order. True, the price will "bite" too. Even too much for almost the same car (T31 dCi). I repeat that "there are no comrades for taste and color," but a careful, objective analysis and "fitting for oneself", taking into account the operating experience of the T31 dCi, showed that both the car itself and the interior of the new T32 were NOT BETTER than that of the T31 !? It is simply "licked" in the fashion of today, and the interior is NOT as comfortable and "omnivorous" as that of the T31. The only obvious advantage of the T32, which can sometimes come in handy (if it comes in handy at all), is the additional possibility of longitudinal movement of the second row seats, which is not an achievement and has long been implemented on the Nissan Qashqai + 2, which, in my personal opinion, even now absolutely is in no way inferior to the T32, and surpasses it in elegance. It has already been said about the off-road characteristics of the T32 - they are inferior to the T31 dCi. In addition, buyers of the X-Trail T32 will not be ready and, I suppose, will not want to "put up" with such a fact as a deterioration in visibility and a decrease (!?) In the trunk volume from 603 to 497 liters, an unfortunate ratio of its dimensions and the absence of additional niches ( containers, etc.) in the cabin. It seems that the X-Trail trunk for the Russian assembly was designed by college students and / or on a leftover basis with a lack of time and money. As a result, with a much larger (as the developers assure (?)) Internal volume of the X-Trail T32, its trunk is not much different from the Qashqai NEW and is really inconvenient, but the car is more expensive by more than 200 thousand rubles. The same Qashqai + 2 in this category (trunk) clearly surpasses the T32, not to mention the T31. In practice, this means that for less money, car owners will buy a little different (by and large) Nissan Qashqai NEW, as well as a Mazda CX-5 with a hydromechanical automatic transmission (but these are already cars of a different class) or Kia Sorento and others cheaper. " Koreans ", whose geometric characteristics and ground clearance are significantly inferior to the X-Trail. I consider the shape of the front bumper to be unsuccessful and ugly (see photo) (too long and "heavy"), as well as the clearance from the lower overhang of the bumper to the road (curb, etc.), which is insufficient for a crossover and Russian existence, and the angle of entry, which reduce " to naught "the obvious advantages of the T32 in total ground clearance (210 mm) over other crossovers. It can be stated with great confidence that the front bumper of the X-Trail T32 will become a "consumable" part and "make" drivers forget about driving outside the asphalt at all. So what were they fighting for? What prevented this time from continuing the advantages of the T31? What are the real savings and / or gains? Why did you not like the well-proven bumper of the previous T31, Murano and other more famous and expensive cars? By and large, and in tribute to fashion (nowhere without it), all the fundamental technical and technological differences in the T32 for Russia are mainly in the new dashboard, from which it is neither hot nor cold, and at a higher price. At the same time, the developers repeated the same "mistake" (from the standpoint of convenience for the driver and traffic safety) - placing the screen of the multimedia / navigation system unreasonably low (although sometimes lower), which forces the driver to be distracted from the road for a longer time and "dig" in cards that you don't even want to criticize, with all the ensuing consequences. As it turned out, even in the SE configuration, the T32 lacks roof rails (!?), Which, given the small volume and generally inconvenient trunk in real life, will often be necessary in accordance with their intended purpose when using a car for a family and a summer residence. I believe that for the X-Trail T32, along with a more powerful turbodiesel, a competitive, more powerful and economical 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine is urgently needed, which NISSAN ALREADY HAVE and has proven itself well on other models. With such a decision, it makes no sense to "pull the rubber" until the next restyling, because you can lose all the previously achieved advantages of Nissan. At the same time, in my opinion, X-Trail T32 is currently one of the most competitive cars in comparison with analogues and many higher class cars (for the indicated price), it shows its best (in some cases without competitors) qualities on asphalt and having somewhat lost (in comparison with the T31) off-road and off-road. P.S. What would you like to contact the developers of X-Trail NEW? Consider installing a self-locking rear cross-axle differential from Murano on an all-wheel drive version, which is capable of "digesting" torque, including a diesel engine. On the basis of already successfully "working" technologies, a self-locking interwheel differential is now persistently "asking" for front-wheel drive versions, which is especially important given the incomprehensible (for crossovers and SUVs as separate classes of cars) tendency of a significant decrease in ground clearance in order to decrease by 2-3 mm (!) of the vehicle's center of gravity. Despite the fact that, in general, the traction control system (including electronic differential locks) and that copes well with wheel slip and diagonal hanging, such a solution (with practically no additional costs) would give the X-Trail NEW an additional and distinctive zest, which will allow it to become him "out of competition". And, on the other hand, given that all this is already on the "old" T31, I suggest fans of the X-Trail dCi T31 to pay attention to it before the release is terminated, but for different and significantly less money. In my opinion, outwardly, the T31 is much more brutal, has a more comfortable, cozy and functional interior and is 100% consistent with its purpose as a "serious" and one of the best crossover SUVs. As a result, you will not go wrong with your choice and save significant financial resources. At the same time, as practice shows, the resource of the engine and automatic transmission before overhaul with competent (human) operation, timely and high-quality service is at least 450-500 thousand km. Given the foregoing, the conclusion suggests itself that the X-Trail (T31) dCI with a hydromechanical automatic transmission and a decent all-wheel drive with the possibility of forced locking of the center differential will truly begin to appreciate and cherish (whoever has it) after the termination of its production and the start of sales of the T32. In the secondary market, it can become a scarce car. And for good reason! This car has excellent and competitive characteristics both on the road and off-road, reliability and self-respecting fuel consumption, excellent traction and dynamic characteristics and at the same time a comfortable, cozy interior with excellent visibility and everything you need, including many different capacities. Good luck and prudence to everyone on Russian roads!
