The three-speed gearbox was integrated with the engine. Four years later, a model with a raised front fender was released. And later, the plant pleased with a powerful motorcycle ZiD-50-01, equipped with a Lifan engine, in this model a semiautomatic clutch was used.

On the basis of the ZID 50 "Pilot" model, the ZDK-2.404 cargo truck was later produced. She was three-wheeled and weighed only 112 kilograms. It was a tiny motor scooter, which was also foldable. This made it possible to transport it in the trunk of a car and store it on the balcony of a high-rise building. The model was equipped with a powerful engine and developed a speed of up to 35 kilometers per hour. ZID-36 existed from 1997 to 2007, turned out to be economically unprofitable and was discontinued.

ZID 50 "Arkan"

The first model of a domestic scooter, released in 2000. The advantages of the model include:

ZiD-50 "Pilot" is a legendary, I'm not afraid of the word, Russian unit. The design of this moped is made in the style of a classic bike. As far as I know, the ZiD 50-01 is the first moped with a 3-speed gear system. There is usually not a lot of trouble with this: I poured oil and gasoline into the tank, in a certain proportion, and went to drive it even into the forest, even through the city. The volume of 49 cubes allows you to ride without a license. Produced in Kovrov. Unfortunately, the quality of modern ZiD 50-01 can never be compared with the models released at the beginning of the century, because the quality of parts has dropped due to imports from abroad. The moped is quite light - only 87 kg, very comfortable in handling. Recently, it has sharply increased in price, and the demand, accordingly, has also slightly dropped. And so see for yourself, if you need to drive to the dacha and back, or drive around the city without having a category A license, then this is THAT, if you need to travel, then you should look at another option.

Dignity : very stylish and easy to use. Inexpensive parts.

The fork does not set off. Domestic ZiD 50-01 was equipped with a 4 strong 2-stroke engine with large cooling fins, high ground clearance and vigorous clutch with 3 gears. I had to tune 1P139FMB to 110 cubic meters, as a result I got a disrupted 2nd gear, roar, rumble and rumble with vibrations transmitted down the back to the very brains. The traction became excellent with my 6 hp, the moped began to "goat", go from any gear to climb into any mud. It has become very easy to overcome logs, fords, ascents on the ZiD 50-01. But there was still no speed. Then there was the tuning of the stars and the installation of a zero resistance filter. The speed increased, but the brakes remained poor. Conclusion: With the 139FMB engine (Honda Cub clone) and the semi-automatic, the moped has become terrible. Too heavy 110 kg and too slow. But it was made as tightly as the tanks, the frame from the machine guns got. Even a fall from the mountain will not end this squalor. ZID 2-stroke is definitely better than Active 4T.

Dignity : sturdy frame and wheels. Smooth landing. Simple construction.

Plant named after V. Degtyareva, better known to us as ZiD, was founded during the First World War. It was then that the first buildings of the Kovrov machine-gun plant began to be erected in Kirov. Many years later, in 1946, he started producing motorcycles as well. Many probably remember the legendary K-125, "Kovrovets" and, of course, "Voskhod". And the very first small-volume motorcycle of the Kovrov plant left the line only in the nineties of the last century. It was the ZiD-50 Pilot model.

The first swallow

ZiD-50 "Pilot", which appeared on domestic roads in 1995, became the first moped of this plant. And already four years later, another batch was released in Kirov with a raised wing in front. It was named "Active". And although it was, like the Pilot, two-stroke, there was a significant difference: it differed from its ancestor in the presence of an original plastic body kit in the style of cruisers. In 2004, this version was slightly improved, creating the ZiD-50-01, on board which was a four-stroke Chinese Lifan engine with a capacity of 2.72 horsepower.

It is noteworthy that in this model a semi-automatic clutch was used, as a result of which its handle disappeared. Like the ZiD-50 "Pilot" moped, it was also intended for tourist and business trips. Also, the vehicle was suitable for walking on a variety of surfaces.

Well, let's start - the ZiD 50-05 is exactly the same as the Delta and Orion 100. Well, it is not suitable for long distances, it is better to put a weak engine on one hundred and ten cubes. The moped is light, very comfortable, not very beautiful, the tank is very small, and I personally don't like the trunk. There are two seats on it, but only if two teenagers sit there, they will fit, and if two normal men, then no, and it will be difficult for him to lead them. The front fork is bad, for the first thousand kilometers it was just wooden, the rear shock absorbers are bad, I have already changed them, since it is not possible to ride on those. Qualitatively, you need to run in, if you go badly, then the ZiD 50-05 can be killed for a year. Change everything as written in the instructions. There is little gasoline, it is very convenient. Goes slowly. And the bad bolts on it are very worth it, when I bought it, half of the bolts still had to be tightened. My opinion is a moped for a neat quiet ride. And it's up to you whether to take it or not.

Dignity : eats little gasoline. Not expensive.

disadvantages : bad materials. Not handsome.

As for the frame of this unit, it does not pull higher than 4 points, since the metal is quite weak and therefore it is advisable not to carry gravity. And in general, the unit is good (no worse than the "alpha" and other "Chinese").

Dignity : in comparison with "alpha" cross-country ability is better, and not expensive (21-22 thousand rubles).

disadvantages : the metal of the frame is weak. Soft tires (not for off-road use).

The 48cc four-stroke engine clearly fits into the category of mopeds, which means that a driver's license is not required. Only a helmet is required. The moped easily maintains the speed allowed in the village (60 km / h). You can use it to go outdoors, it is not afraid of bad roads. True, I do not advise traveling long distances, with such a speed of movement (too tiring).

The first step after buying a ZiD 50-05 is to immediately check all the connections (bolts, nuts) and tighten them. You can treat them with silicone grease or WD40, and then you have a better chance of not loosening anything. But after this method, the nuts and bolts can stick together so that they cannot be ripped off only if you use a liquid wrench. If possible, I advise you to immediately change all the wiring to insulated or what is more expensive. It is also better to change all hoses at once, the more expensive the better. Even on the ZiD 50-05 there is no protection against dry shifting, since the gears are located in a circle, you can safely, after turning off the engine, switch from 4th gear to neutral. But there is also a drawback, because on a country road I drive in low gear and immediately turn on 4th gear, more than once I touched the gearshift lever and switched to 3rd or neutral - that's the second, this is not very good for a moped. As I read on the ZiD forums in the 2014 model, this problem has already been eliminated and without squeezing the clutch from 4 to neutral, you can no longer switch. What can I say - the moped is light, the motor is 48 cubic meters, the "maximum speed" according to the speedometer is 60 km / h, and according to the transmission is 80, then the cut-off is triggered. But to accelerate to 80 on the ZiD 50-05 is not realistic, because the engine is very weak. A person up to 100 kg pulls calmly, on a good road you can easily accelerate to 60 kg. A person above 120 kg is already barely able to pull. A friend rode a girl on my moped, the total weight is about 120 kg. The moped was no longer confidently going to accelerate, but nevertheless it gained a speed of 60 km. On country roads, the ZiD 50-05 is also going well, but on the sand it can demolish the backside, so I immediately turn on the 4th gear and quietly drive like a low. It is especially good to go through the mud like this and you won't get stuck. The moped just sniffs gasoline. I don't know how much it consumes, but the tank lasted for a long time. Problems for 2 seasons - first the carburetor sneezed, a neighbor quickly blew it out without removing it, and adjusted it. Then he began to twitch when shifting gears, as it turned out the clutch burned out, bought a new one for 1650 rubles.

Dignity : low fuel consumption. Spare parts are always available in the central region.

disadvantages : The Chinese engine cannot be compared with the Soviet one both in quality and in characteristics.

The ZiD cargo tricycle is a light and economical utility vehicle with a dump body, which is primarily targeted at residents of villages and villages, small towns and urban settlements.
