There are many situations in life when it seems that everything has gone to waste and become irreversible, but if a child does not pass the OGE the first time, it is not yet time to make a universal tragedy out of this fact. Millions of people, at one time, failed some exams and continued to live after that, sometimes even better than those who passed these exams. According to the rules established not in 2018, but earlier, everyone who graduated from 9th grade must pass the State Final Certification.

Every year, a number of unfortunate children find themselves in a dilemma about what to do. His parents ask this question along with him. Whether there is reason for panic and tragedy - different families decide in their own way.

What to do if you haven’t passed the OGE? OGE 2018

Parental ambitions and a traumatized psyche

Each of the excited parents wants to have a promising child, an excellent student who shows promise and has a successful career. Many of them plan in advance for their child not only admission to college, but also a university diploma. Starting from 2017, and in 2018 too, the 11th grade certificate includes a grade calculated as the arithmetic average and taking into account the General Examination in 9th grade. Lots of parents these days chastise their offspring for unexpectedly low scores.
There may be a long list of reasons for this phenomenon, but it is still better than if the child did not pass the exam at all. As you know, a C in all exams is enough to pass the Main State Exam.

What to do if 1 or 2 subjects are not passed - retake. If you are unlucky with all the disciplines and the child does not pass any of the required 4 OGE exams, according to experts, in 2018 this means complete hopelessness. The only option left is to end up in 9th grade again.

The child failed the exam

What to do in each case does not mean hopelessness, but a quick search for a way out:

  • a lack of points scored up to the “A” desired by parents means intensive work in grades 10 and 11;

  • one or two failed exams - emergency retraining and retake in reserve - in June or September;

  • if the child has not passed the OGE at all - that is, 3 or 4 exams below the required three, the search for an answer to the question of what to do seems simply unrealistic.

Parents are informed that failure to pass exams in the 9th grade in 2018 means there is only one option - to send the child back to the 9th grade. And this is not true. Sober-minded citizens will think through the situation well and discover several more completely acceptable solutions.
To do this, you need to give up the ambitions that were previously assigned to the child and look for another possible way for him to obtain a certificate.

The main ways you can resort to

If a child has not passed the Unified State Exam, there is no need to force him to undergo the painful procedure again a year later, and then again, but in the form of the Unified State Exam, after another 2 years. Perhaps he simply cannot mobilize efforts in this form of passing the exam. The second year in the ninth means again four tests, and probable failure if more than two are not passed.
This is money for a tutor, wasted, a lost year of life and the nerves of the whole family. The implementation of the grandiose plans placed by the parents on the fragile shoulders of the teenager is still as far away as at the first moment, when it turned out that the number of points required to pass the OGE was not scored.

OGE points

There are several options for the upcoming retake:

  • another year in 9th grade - and again 4 exams;

  • studying at home - and passing the OGE on a general basis;

  • admission to evening school, with mandatory employment, to obtain a certificate.

And there is only one way out that may seem appropriate in this situation - the right choice of a vocational school.

You can enroll in a vocational school

In large cities, there are schools on a fee basis that accept students after the 8th grade. Studying there involves simultaneously obtaining a certificate and a profession.
The received official document, in some cases, gives the right of prerogative admission to the relevant universities, with which the school sometimes has an agreement.

The vocational education system has not gone away, it still works, and it should not be perceived as a bogeyman. This is the only reasonable alternative to the shameful repeating of a year at school, an opportunity to change the environment and get a profession. She is a step on another ladder to career heights. If only the child had the desire, and the parents had the opportunity to help.

In 2018, more than 1 million schoolchildren took the OGE, among them there are those who did not cope with the tasks and “failed” the state exam for grade 9. Don't think that these are just a few. Unfortunately, you will not find official statistics on the number of schoolchildren who have not passed the OGE certification in open sources. But believe me, these are not dozens or even hundreds of graduates - there are tens of thousands of such children every year. What to do in this difficult situation? The Internet is full of requests:

What to do if you failed 3 or 4 OGE?

How many times can you retake the OGE?

When is the OGE retake in 2018?

Is it possible to get a certificate if you have not passed the OGE in three or more subjects?

Will I receive a certificate if I retake the OGE in September?

Lancman School Unified State Exam and Unified State Exam courses answer all questions and help you move from a state of panic and disappointment to the stage of constructive action to correct the situation. Just a couple of years ago, the requirements for ninth-graders were more lenient, but even with today’s more strict situation in the procedure for conducting the OGE, there are options for correcting the situation in the event of some failures in the exam. A “D” (or even several) on the OGE is definitely not the end of the world!

If you received a “D” on the OGE, then there are many ways to improve the situation. The very first thing you need to understand is whether you have a chance to increase your scores on the OGE score appeal. Let us immediately warn you that points on appeal are increased reluctantly and extremely rarely. However, it is always worth fighting to improve your result in the event of a technical reading error or an unreasonable reduction in points when checking detailed answers. The Unified State Exam and Unified State Exam courses at Lancman School are ready to provide you with support for the procedure for appealing Unified State Examination points, that is, our teachers are ready, with a notarized power of attorney, to attend the appeal in the conflict commission to help you competently and reasonably win back the “stolen” points.

How to retake the OGE in 2018

In 2018, all 9th grade graduates took 4 exams. Two of them are mandatory OGE in Russian language and mathematics. The other two are optional; they could be any two school subjects. In 2018, the results of all four exams directly affected the grades in the certificate. If a graduate received a bad mark on at least one of the four exams, then the issue of issuing a school certificate for the 9th grade was shelved, as they say. Let's look at all possible options for “failure” at the OGE in order to understand how to act.

You only failed 1 or 2 OGE

If you get a “D” in one or two exams (and it doesn’t matter at all whether they are compulsory or elective), then you have as many as two attempts to retake these OGEs on reserve days and an additional OGE period. First, let's explain what reserve days are.

Retake on reserve days of the OGE

There are reserve days for all state exams (both the OGE and the Unified State Exam). They are needed to ensure that the exam is fair for all graduates, regardless of life circumstances. Imagine that on the eve of the exam or right on the day of the exam you get sick. Should it be possible to correct the situation and rewrite on other days? Or, for example, you received very low scores. This also happens, and every person (and especially a child) has the right to make a mistake. In order to give you a chance to fix everything, reserve days for the OGE were invented. The good news in 2018 was the news that you can try to retake all the OGE exams in the summer and fall, that is, they give two attempts. Let us remember that previously it was possible to retake only one exam for the OGE.

Calendar of reserve days OGE 2018

OGE dateItemTime frame for testing the OGE
June 20 (Wednesday) Russian language No later than June 30 (Saturday)
May 21 (Thursday) Mathematics No later than July 1 (Sunday)
June 22 (Friday) Biology, Computer Science and ICT, Social Studies, Literature No later than July 2 (Monday)
June 23 (Saturday) Foreign languages No later than July 3 (Tuesday)
June 25 (Monday) History, Chemistry, Physics, Geography No later than July 5 (Thursday)
June 28 (Thursday) In all subjects No later than July 8 (Sunday)
June 29 (Friday) In all subjects No later than July 9 (Monday)

If you get at least a “C” for the OGE taken on reserve days, then consider that you have corrected the situation. Now they can issue you a certificate without any problems. You can try to enroll in the specialized 10th grade or take your documents to college. By the way, after a successful retake, when the arithmetic average is calculated to display the grade for the subject in the certificate, the first “two” for the OGE will not be counted. Only the annual grade and the grade for the rewritten OGE will be used; the previous low result will be canceled.

Retake the OGE in September

If you were unable to retake 1 or 2 (no more) “D” grades the second time on reserve days, then you are given the opportunity to retake the OGE in the next academic year. But don’t be afraid of this wording, “next year” does not mean at all that you have to wait until next summer. No, first you can retake the OGE in September (after all, the new academic year traditionally begins on September 1).

Calendar of the Additional stage of the OGE 2018

12-th of September

September 14

You failed 3 or all 4 OGEs in 2018

If you did not pass more than two OGEs in 2018, then you can retake the exams in September, that is, you do not have to wait until next summer. The dates are still the same:

12-th of September(Wednesday) – social studies, chemistry, computer science and information and communication technologies (ICT), literature;

September 14(Friday) – foreign languages (English, French, German, Spanish).

Reserve deadlines (for those who were unable to attend the retake for a valid reason):

September 21(Friday) – foreign languages (English, French, German, Spanish)

By the way, Lancman School's Unified State Exam and Unified State Exam courses can provide you with the opportunity to prepare for a successful retake of the Unified State Exam at intensive courses. Our tutors will conduct diagnostic testing in the subject and develop an individual plan for preparing for the retake in the short term (up to the retake of the OGE in September). We have a very large network of branches throughout the country, you can always find the one that is closest to you.

Will I receive a certificate if I retake the OGE?

Anyone who is faced with retaking the OGE has a logical question: will I receive a certificate for grade 9 if I successfully retake the OGE in July or September? You can rest assured that you will receive a certificate and will even be able to try to enroll in 10th grade (subject to availability) or college in September, because many vocational education institutions announce additional enrollment for budget places after August 15 (you need to bring documents before October 1). Information about the additional set can always be found on the Internet.

What will happen if I didn’t retake the OGE either in the summer or in September

If you fail to retake the exams either on reserve days or during the additional period of the OGE, then you will be left without a certificate for grade 9. What are the options for further developments?

1. If you no longer want to study at school, the educational institution expels you and issues you a certificate of the established form. In this case, you can continue your studies on your own (studying at home) and try to retake the OGE next year.

2. You can stay for repeated studies in the 9th grade (you will not be expelled from the educational institution), in this case you will also take the final certification in a year - together with the graduates of the 9th grade in 2019. Since you won’t have a certificate in your hands in 2018, you won’t be able to go to college. Colleges accept graduates of grades 9 and 11 without exams, but when submitting documents you will be asked for the original school certificate. Well, you will have to wait a year, but there is nothing catastrophic in this, because, as you know, those who do nothing are not mistaken. If you have such low results according to the results of an independent test, you should pull yourself together during this year and, by all means, improve your knowledge to a good level.

The time for final exams has already begun. Every summer, after the final bell rings and before graduation is celebrated, students in grades 9 and 11 take exams.

OGE - what it is, and how students prepare for such a responsible period of life - this is what our article is about.

What is OGE - transcript

What is OGE? This abbreviation stands for Main State Exam. Absolutely all ninth grade graduates are required to take it, regardless of whether the graduate will continue their studies or not.

How to pass the OGE

Graduates are required to take four subjects. Russian language and mathematics are compulsory, and the student chooses two more subjects himself.

March 1 is the deadline for selecting items to submit. Students with disabilities have the right not to take additional subjects.

To pass the OGE, the graduate is given the opportunity to choose an additional course. items. The school administration enters the student’s choice into the general register, in which the results are compiled. Based on them, a certain number of packages with tasks will be sent.

Schoolchildren write exams in their schools, with their teachers as examiners. Having written the exam, students can only wait for the results, which are announced within a week.

What do they take in 9th grade?

Required subjects for 9th grade are mathematics and Russian language. If a student does not plan to enter 10th grade, then these two subjects will be enough for him.

If, after all, a graduate wants to continue his studies in grades 10 and 11, he needs to pass not only mathematics and Russian, but also two additional subjects of his choice.

The easiest subjects to pass the OGE

The easiest subject to pass in the humanities is social studies. More than half of graduates take it.

This subject is the easiest to understand and remember. The science of social science is aimed at studying life, therefore the student can take part of the information from life experience.

In the technical direction, the easiest, according to graduates, is computer science and ICT. This, like social studies, is passed by the majority of students.

Computer science is simple due to the monotony of its tasks. But no one cancels the fact that you need to know the school base. On the contrary, you need to understand and learn it, and together with it, be able to solve many options.

How many points do you need to score to pass the OGE?

Each subject has its own passing scores. In the Russian language, the passing minimum is 15 points, and for mathematics it is enough to score 8.

Is it difficult to get that amount? It’s better to ask the graduates themselves about this.

OGE grading system - scoring by subjects

Behind Russian language if you receive from 0 to 14 points, a score of “2” is given. From 15 to 24 – score “3”. From 25 to 33 – score “4”. From 34 to 39 the mark “5” is put.

Behind mathematics when receiving from 0 to 7 points, the mark “2” is given. From 8 to 14 points – score “3”. From 15 to 21 – mark “4”. From 22 to 32 - the graduate receives a grade of “5”.

By physics The following scale is adopted: if there are from 0 to 9 points, a score of “2” is given. From 10 to 19 points – score “3”. From 20 to 30 – score “4”. If there are more than 30 points, the graduate receives a mark of “5”.

By typing biology less than 13 points, the graduate receives a “2”. From 13 to 25 - the score is “3”. If you have 26–36 points, the graduate will receive a “4” mark. If a graduate scores over 36, he will receive a “5”.

By geography To pass the threshold, you must score more than 11 points. To get a “4” you need to get from 20 to 26. To get the highest mark, you need to score more than 26 points.

Passing minimum computer science and ICT- 5 points. To get a “4” you need to score from 12 to 17. To get a “5” you need above 17 points.

To be enrolled in grade 10, you need to score 31 points in Russian, 19 in mathematics, 24 in geography, 15 points in computer science and ICT, 30 in physics, and 33 points in biology.

What is the difference between the OGE and the Unified State Exam?

These two methods of testing knowledge are very similar. The significant difference lies in two aspects:

  1. The first is how the knowledge test is administered. Students take the OGE at their schools. And the examination committee is the teachers of the given school. To write the Unified State Exam, students are invited to other schools in the city, where other teachers will be the supervisors. The work of graduates is checked by an independent commission, organized by the district education committee.
  2. The second difference is admission to the exam. In 9th grade, anyone who does not have a failure in the subjects taken is allowed to take the exam. In the 11th grade, admission to the exam is not only positive grades, but also, more recently, the final essay. His students write in early December. It is assessed according to five criteria, for each of which you can score a maximum of five points. The evaluation criterion is the correspondence of the written essay to the given topic. The criteria also include the presence of argumentation, and one of the arguments must be taken from literary sources.

The third evaluation criterion is the composition of the essay and the presence of logic in the text.

The fourth is the quality of writing. The student must clearly and clearly express his thoughts using different grammatical structures.

The fifth criterion is literacy. If five or more errors are made, 0 points are given for this item. If points 1 and 2 are given 0 points, then the essay is not checked further and the graduate receives a “failure”.

What happens if you don’t pass the OGE

If a student fails the exam and receives an unsatisfactory grade in the core subjects, he is given the opportunity to retake these exams on reserve days.

But if the graduate does not score the required points the second time, then instead of a certificate he will receive a certificate of completion of training.

Retaking these subjects is possible only next year.

How to pass the OGE well in 9th grade

To successfully prepare for the OGE, you can turn to tutors for help. For a very expensive fee, the student will be purposefully prepared to pass a certain subject.

  1. If, after all, the student decides to prepare for the upcoming exams on his own, he should follow some tips:
  2. It is necessary to determine what form of memorization the graduate has. Perhaps visual, then you should take more notes on the material, highlight information with all kinds of markers, and divide it into blocks. If the student has a more developed auditory form of memorization, then he should read more and speak out loud the information he has read.
  3. It is better to spend one or two hours preparing every day than to sit over textbooks all day.

To prepare, you need to organize self-discipline. It is very important to start preparing at least six months in advance. If a student cannot independently organize his work, parents need to help and try to control the preparation.

Conclusion

Once again about what OGE is. This abbreviation is translated as the main state exam and means a form of testing the knowledge of 9th grade students.

In turn, the Unified State Exam, called the Unified State Exam. exam, tests the knowledge of 11th grade graduates and opens the way for them to obtain higher education.

Final exams in the ninth grade are an important event for every student. The tasks become more difficult every year, and sometimes even good students show low results on the OGE. What remains for the children who did not cope with the exam task and cannot continue their studies? Let's say right away: there is no need to be discouraged. As you know, ninth-graders take exams in two compulsory subjects (mathematics and Russian) and two elective disciplines. Elective subjects are not retaken, and scores on them do not affect the grades on the certificate. For example, if a student received a “3” in history during the year, and a “2” in the exam, the document on education will contain a “C”. But alas, with compulsory subjects everything is not so simple...

A failed exam has a chance to retake in June and September

If you have an unsatisfactory result on one exam in a compulsory subject, the discipline can be retaken in the summer. The first retake takes place in June. For this purpose, all the children who have not passed a certain exam are collected in one school. If a student fails to complete the assignments a second time or fails both compulsory subjects, he will have to retake the test in September.

If the student gets a bad grade again, there are two options left. He can take the 9th grade course again or spend a year at home and take the OGE next spring. Instead of a certificate, such a graduate receives a certificate of study at a general education institution. Unfortunately, it does not provide an opportunity to go to college or technical school.

Right to appeal

There are other options. If a student does not agree with the assessment or believes that the exam procedure was violated, he can appeal. The application is submitted to the conflict commission or to the educational organization in which the student was admitted to the exam. The appeal must be filed within two working days after receiving the results of the OGE.

The student has the right to appeal the exam results

To resolve disputes, the commission attracts subject matter experts who review the students’ work. If an error was made when calculating the score, the score is corrected to a higher one. The commission does not consider complaints about the content of assignments or cases where a low grade was received due to incorrect formatting of the work.

It also happens that a student misses an exam due to health problems. In this case, he must submit the appropriate certificate from the doctor and an application for retake to the educational organization at the place of study.

In accordance with the Federal Law “On Education in the Russian Federation,” 9th grade students undergo state final certification (GIA-9) without fail. GIA-9 is carried out:

- in the form of the OGE - the main state exam using standardized control measuring materials (CMM);

- in the form of the GVE - state final exam in the form of written and oral exams using texts, topics, assignments, tickets.

The main form of GIA-9 is OGE. The GVE is taken by students with disabilities, children with disabilities, students who study in boarding schools and foreign schools, and minors in prison.

Ninth-graders must submit applications for participation in GIA-9 until March 1 inclusive at your school. In it, they must indicate the academic subjects chosen for passing and the form of final certification - OGE or GVE.

How many subjects do ninth graders take in 2017?

In 2017, 9th grade graduates take two compulsory subjects - Russian language and mathematics and two elective subjects. For students with disabilities, students with disabilities and people with disabilities who have completed educational programs of basic general education, the number of exams taken is reduced at their request. up to two compulsory ones - in Russian language and mathematics.

Results obtained at GIA-9 in all 4 subjects, will affect the final grade included in the certificate of basic general education, as well as the receipt of a certificate. Final grades for 9th grade in the Russian language, mathematics and two academic subjects taken at the student’s choice are determined as arithmetic average of annual and examination marks graduate and are included in the certificate in whole numbers in accordance with the rules of mathematical rounding.

GIA-9 in the regions is organized by the executive body of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation that carries out public administration in the field of education.

Who is allowed to take State Examination 9

Students who do not have academic debt and have fully completed the curriculum or individual curriculum are admitted to GIA-9, i.e. having annual grades in all academic subjects of the curriculum for class IX not less than satisfactory.

If a graduate is not satisfied with the results of GIA-9, he can file an appeal.

In the event that students receive unsatisfactory results at the GIA-9 in no more than two academic subjects(from among compulsory and elective subjects), they again are allowed to take the GIA-9 in the relevant academic subjects in the current year in additional deadlines.

Students who did not pass the GIA-9 or received unsatisfactory results on the GIA-9 in more than two academic subjects, or who received a repeated unsatisfactory result one by one from these items to GIA-9 in additional terms, granted the right pass exams in relevant academic subjects, but no earlier than September 1, 2017.

If a ninth grader was not admitted to the State Examination Test or did not pass the State Examination Test again

Receiving general education is compulsory before the citizen reaches age 18 years.

9th grade students did not complete the curriculum in full(with academic debt), as well as graduates, those who did not pass GIA-9, at the discretion of parents (legal representatives) may remain on repeat schooling or switch to education in the form of family education. Upon leaving school, they receive a certificate of study in an educational organization of the established form. Such persons can pass the State Examination in a year.

Conditional transfer does not apply to ninth graders by virtue of the provision of paragraph 5 of Article 66 of the Law on Education that students who have not mastered the basic educational program of primary general and (or) basic general education are not allowed to study at the following levels of general education

For information
