The Hyundai Creta 1.6 engine is a bright representative of Korean design thought, which is famous for its long service life, is not capricious, easy to maintain and quite reliable. But here, unfortunately, there was a small fly in the ointment. But more on this a little further in our article.

The Hyundai Creta went on sale just a few years ago - in 2016. The engine line includes only two units - 1.6 and 2.0 liters. Both engines run on gasoline and are structurally similar. We have already talked about it in one of our articles. But for some reason 1.6 was bypassed at that moment. So today we’ll catch up.

Under the hood of the 1.6-liter Hyundai Creta, a Korean unit with the index (or brand, as it suits you) G4FG is installed. This engine belongs to the GAMMA family and may be known to you from cars such as Hyundai Solaris 2, Kia Rio (4th generation), Kia Ceed second generation, i30 (second generation), etc.

Despite the fact that Hyundai is a Korean brand, the G4FG engine is not assembled in Korea. At the very beginning of the production of this engine, its production was transferred to the Chinese plant in Beijing. It cannot be said that the quality of the components has suffered from this, but Chinese production still gives a little mistrust. However, you should not be afraid of the Chinese assembly, since all work is carried out under the control of the Korean concern Hyundai & KIA and there is no doubt about the quality of the assembly.

The Hyundai Creta 1.6 engine itself is delivered in finished form to a conveyor line in Russia, where it is installed in a ready-made vehicle kit.

Engine for Hyundai Creta 1.6 characteristics

We decided to display all the most important technical characteristics of the engine for the Hyundai Creta 1.6 in a separate table so as not to take up a lot of your time to study. Below the table we will briefly talk a little about each parameter.

The 1.6 engine in the Hyundai Creta has an in-line cylinder arrangement. Number of cylinders – 4. Number of valves – 16 (4 for each cylinder). Engine power varies from 121 to 132 hp. It is on the Crete that this engine produces 123 hp. Fuel consumption is stated to be 8/4.8/6 (city/highway/combined cycle) l per 100 km. Data taken from vehicle measurements with a manual transmission. Creta will automatically consume a little more.

It is also worth noting that the all-wheel drive Crete also has a 1.6 liter engine modification. This is the same G4FG GAMMA, but with different settings. There is less horsepower here, namely 121, and torque is 148 Nm. The fuel consumption of this version is 0.5-0.7 l/100 km higher.

Alas, nowadays manufacturers of modern cars rarely think about engine life. Now it is much more convenient and profitable to make engines with less resource, so that the client comes for repairs more often or quickly exchanges the car for a new one. In the case of repairs, Creta is also not going smoothly, since the 1.6 engine cannot be repaired. The culprit is the aluminum block and thin-walled cast iron liners, which cannot be bored out or replaced with new ones. The fact is that the thickness of the liner wall does not allow it to be bored to repair size, and it will also not be possible to pull out the liner, because it is produced together with the cylinder head at the time of casting. Those. the sleeve itself is tightly fused to the block.

As for the resource itself, it’s too early to talk about any numbers - the model has been on the market for only a few years and has not yet had time to show itself to its full potential. There are reports on the network that this engine runs for approximately 180-200 thousand km, but there are people who have already driven more than 300 thousand km without major repairs. Judging by the Kia Rio and Hyundai Solaris, there is even a video showing that a car with this engine has crossed the 650 thousand km mark. And the engine was still factory. Although this is not the rule, but rather the exception.

The 1.6 Hyundai Creta engine is already well known to us and has been well studied by masters. The motor structure is made of aluminum. The cylinder head also has a similar composition and is made of aluminum. Despite all the obvious shortcomings of aluminum, blocks made of this metal are very light, quickly warm up and give off heat, and with proper maintenance they do not cause trouble for owners.

The timing system uses a chain for drive. The chain resource is approximately 150-180 thousand km. After which the chain and all gears need to be replaced. The timing belt does not have hydraulic compensators in its design, so the valves are manually adjusted using hydraulic compensators.

The Hyundai Creta 1.6 engine has Dual-CVVT with a dual variable valve timing system. Fuel injection – distributed MPI. Ignition coils are individual. In fact, that's all you need to know about this motor.

Reviews of the Hyundai Creta 1.6 engine

There are quite a lot of different ones on the Internet. There are both positive and negative. Let's pluck at least a few of them from the network.

Alexander, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug.

I bought a Hyundai Creta with a 1.6 liter engine last year. I'm happy with the car. I took it with front-wheel drive because I wanted to save money, and I don’t need all-wheel drive in the city. There is enough traction for the car (for me personally). I change the oil every 15 thousand, as specified by the factory. There is no oil consumption. Mileage 34 thousand km.

Julia, Krasnodar

I chose the Hyundai Creta crossover as my first car. Engine 1.6 l. I took it at a discount because I was eligible for preferential lending. I'm happy with the car. At 13 thousand km, a problem emerged - the catalyst began to clog. The catalyst was replaced at the expense of the car dealership. The engine has been diagnosed. Everything is fine inside. Now I have an unpleasant aftertaste in my soul - it’s like a new car, but it gave me trouble so quickly.

Konstantin, Kemerovo

I took a 1.6 liter Creta with a manual transmission. The dynamics are on par, it drives decently. But obviously not the Audi A6 Quattro 4.2l))) But for normal everyday driving it’s quite a decent option. The mechanics allow you to rotate this motor quite flexibly, which is impossible to do on an automatic machine. The fuel consumption of the 1.6 Crete is about 9 liters in the city. Although immediately after the purchase there was more - about 10 liters. But after running in, consumption dropped significantly. It’s too early to talk about problems, since the mileage is quite insignificant. In the meantime, the flight is normal.

Hyundai Creta 1.6 engine – chain or belt?

Many people, before buying a new car, study all the information about it on the Internet. The question turned out to be especially important: “is it a chain or a belt on the 1.6 Hyundai Creta engine?”

Why are so many people so interested in this question? The fact is that some people prefer chain motors, while others prefer belt motors. Both types of timing drive have their advantages and disadvantages.

The disadvantage of the belt is its fragility and the need for periodic replacement. When the belt breaks, most often the pistons “meet” the valves and the owner ends up on the cap. repair.

The chain is practically free of these shortcomings. It is durable and more reliable. But, like any mechanism, it is subject to wear and tear over time. In most cases, the chain and all gears need to be replaced. And this pleasure is not cheap. Therefore, some drivers prefer a chain motor, while others prefer a belt motor.

But I won’t delay for long and say right away: the 1.6 Hyundai Creta engine is a chain engine.

The oil volume in the Hyundai Creta 1.6 engine is 3.6 liters, which is 400 ml more than on the 12.0 Hyundai Creta engine. Please note that this volume is based on a completely empty engine. after draining the waste, there may still be a little old oil left in the engine and all 3.6 liters may not enter. In any case, the oil level is adjusted using the dipstick.

Modern technologies in Hyundai Creta engines

The Hyundai Creta mini-crossover appeared on the domestic market in 2016. The car was named after the Greek island of Crete and was originally conceived as a universal model. The Creta has received several modifications, including several all-wheel drive options with a choice of engines. The Crete's engine is suitable for any driver and is designed for different types of driving.

Despite the large number of competitors, among which are: Renault Kaptur, Kia Soul, Skoda Yeti, the new car quickly gained popularity among drivers. The Korean company tried to combine confident design and solid functionality, all at an affordable price.

It should be noted that they coped with the task quite well. The car received not only an original appearance, but also a rather pleasant interior. But is everything as good under the hood as it is outside and inside? What is used in Creta timing or chain? Let us consider these questions in detail and try to answer them.

Engine range of Hyundai Creta

The engine is the heart of any car and the specialists of the Korean brand know this like no one else. Hyundai cars have always been distinguished by reliable engines with increased service life and ease of operation. They equipped the model range with the most optimal power units for such a body:

  • Gamma G4FG with a volume of 1.6 liters
  • Two-liter Nu G4NA.

Old versions of these units worked well: owners often noted the absence of serious problems during operation. Engineers have refined the design of engines for the Hyundai Creta, thereby improving the technical characteristics. These changes helped make slightly outdated engines quite competitive. In the front-wheel drive version, at the rear there is a new generation suspension (a beam with vertical shock absorbers and modified mounting points); at the front there is nothing special: a regular McPherson.

The all-wheel drive modification is similar in design, but the rear suspension is independent with an electro-hydraulic clutch; similar technical solutions were used in the Tucson and Santa Fe. In addition, car variations differ in power steering: on basic ones it is hydraulic, and on more expensive ones it is electric.

Engine with a volume of 1.6

Which engine should the buyer choose? Let's start with volume 1.6. GAMMA G4FG has decent power for its size, low noise level and has good environmental performance.

The updated engine has a power of 123 horsepower, which is complemented by a thrust of 155 Nm. The unit is distinguished by the following parameters:

  • aluminum cylinder block;
  • two camshafts;
  • injector with fuel rail;
  • separate ignition coils that go to each of the cylinders;
  • use of a chain in a gas distribution mechanism;
  • CVVT system on intake and exhaust.

These technical solutions made it possible to create a balanced motor that is unpretentious and economical. In addition, it can be filled with 92 gasoline without loss of traction, which is of great importance. Hyundai engineers also optimized the software component, leaving the electronic control system. The GAMMA G4FG engine can be combined with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, depending on the selected configuration.

Two-liter engine

This engine variation is more dynamic and, like the first, is a modified version of the old unit and is called G4KD. The updated engine has the same design with an aluminum cylinder block, a timing chain and two shafts. In addition, there are hydraulic valve compensators, which eliminates the need for constant adjustment.

Here, as in the 1.6-liter engine, there is a “dual” CVVT system, which is provided for both the intake and exhaust shafts. For the domestic market, the engine will be supplied with distributed injection. The power of the two-liter engine is 150 hp. Similar to the previous engine, this modified MPI can be filled with 92 gasoline.

One of the main innovations of the engine is the appearance of hydraulic compensators and roller levers in the valve drive. Thanks to this, there is no need to regularly check the clearances in the valves and the levers themselves, as a result of which reliability increases and the overall performance of the power unit improves: wear and fuel consumption are reduced, and power, on the contrary, increases.

Thanks to the modernization, maximum engine torque is available at lower speeds. Like the first option, the G4KD is combined with a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission. The engine shows very good dynamics at speeds above average and, in general, is quite decent for such a car.

Conclusion

Undoubtedly, the network in Hyundai Creta engines is a fly in the ointment. This is mainly due to the aluminum block. The units are high-tech, but have poor maintainability indicators.

Cast iron sleeves poured into the block are practically impossible to get, and there is no possibility of boring. Some owners claim that the car's life is limited to two hundred thousand kilometers, while others say that they have driven more than 300.

In any case, the entire block can be replaced, although it will not be cheap. The undeniable advantage of the Hyundai Creta is the ability to purchase an economical car with a 1.6 liter engine, good power and all-wheel drive, which competitors clearly cannot boast of.

The Creta's engines are not ideal, but if we compare them with their competitors, we can conclude that they have a simple design, sufficient power and ease of operation, which is very important for the responsible driver. Over time, owners will be able to find out what the engine life actually is and draw appropriate conclusions.

Hyundai Creta engine in video:

According to statistics, the most popular type of car in Russia is crossovers, and a budget crossover is the dream of almost every second driver. Therefore, the Hyundai Creta model, which first appeared on the Russian market in 2016, was eagerly awaited by many.

Let's discuss whether the Korean crossover lived up to expectations. Why Hyundai Greta is good, and also what flaws And weak spots does this model have?

List of obvious advantages

Price

Hyundai Creta has confidently overtaken its competitors in terms of the price of the budget version of the model. This is perhaps the best price for a car of this quality on the market. You can buy a crossover from 789,000 rubles, while the main competitor in the class Renault Kaptur offers buyers its car from 879,000 rubles, Kia Sportage - from 1,179,000 rubles, and Nissan, Mitsubishi and Toyota demand more for the basic versions of their models more. Prices are presented according to official dealers for 2017.

Equipment

Paradoxical as it may seem, the equipment of the car is both a plus and a minus. The disadvantage is that most of the even seemingly standard options are present only in the latest version. But we'll talk about this below. In the meantime, let's discuss the technical equipment of the top-end configuration.

In the maximum version of the model, the car owner is provided with the following options:

  • Starting the engine with a button;
  • Leather seats;
  • All-wheel drive clutch lock;
  • Electric power steering;
  • Descent assistance system;
  • Hill Start Assist system.

The latest technology allows you to climb mountains without hindrance with a slope of 50⁰. In this case, you can stop, stand for a few seconds and freely continue moving. This option, as well as the system "GLONASS Era", which allows you to call for help in the event of an accident, comes as standard with the car. The clutch locking function will fully reveal the Greta's capabilities as a crossover. With its help, you will confidently overcome a washed-out dirt road. The Greta's cross-country ability is very similar to that of the Renault Captur, the Korean's main competitor in the class and price range.

Salon

Compared to Renault Captur and Duster, the Korean crossover wins both in terms of aesthetics and interior comfort. Inside Greta you feel like you are driving a European car. Despite the fact that the plastic is inexpensive, the finishing is attractive, and the raised surface of the dashboard even makes you think that it is leather.

The steering wheel is adjustable not only in height, but also in reach. Although this option is presented only in the maximum version, the Captur even has a top-end configuration no calibration provided departure. The seats can also be adjusted in height, reach and angle. This versatile setting allows the driver to feel comfortable behind the wheel of the car, and the lateral support of the seats reliably fixes the body in turns. I would also like to note the sound insulation, which is much better in Hyundai.

In terms of trunk volume, the “Korean” is ahead of the Captur: 431 liters versus 378 liters. Moreover, the Greta has a full-size wheel under the trunk, while the Captur only has a stowage wheel. But Hyundai loses in this indicator to the front-wheel drive version of the Duster, where the trunk volume is 475 liters, and for the all-wheel drive version it is 408 liters. But the clear leader in terms of spaciousness was Kia with a volume of 491 liters.

Driving sensations

Why Hyundai Greta is good, so it is a combination of dynamics and smoothness. Here the 6-speed automatic transmission, which comes on crossovers with a 2-liter engine, played its role. Thanks to the perfectly tuned gear ratio, the car accelerates faster and more confidently.

It should be noted that the steering wheel is calibrated. At low speeds it is softer, and when you press the gas pedal it becomes harsher. This distribution of force allows you to feel the road better.

Although the Greta is based on the Solaris, it does not have the same suspension problems as its older brother. The multi-link chassis of the Hyundai Creta quietly absorbs all the bumps in the road, allowing passengers to feel comfortable, as if they were in the cabin of an expensive German car. Something similar happens behind the wheel of a Duster – this Frenchman also confidently absorbs bumps and freely cuts through dirt roads. But Kaptur engineers cannot boast of such things. Their suspension is more sensitive. In terms of this indicator, I was unpleasantly surprised by the new Sportage, which overcomes the terrain even tougher than its opponents, although it is far ahead in cost.

Disadvantages and weaknesses

The most striking disadvantage of this model is the configuration. Marketers of the Korean company interested the market with an incredibly low price - 749 thousand rubles (as of 2016). This is the initial cost of the budget version of Greta. But what can they offer for this price? The basic version of the crossover does not even have air conditioning, not to mention heated seats or a lift assist system. Even the original LED headlights, which give Hyundai modernity and style, are only available in higher trim levels. According to this indicator, Renault confidently wins, which has air conditioning, a heated rear window, and an engine start button.

By the way, Greta’s maximum configuration is slightly higher. An all-wheel drive 2-liter crossover with the Comfort Plus package will cost 1,200 thousand rubles, and a Renault with the same characteristics will cost 1,180 thousand.

Unlike Greta, Captur manufacturers can offer four transmission options - 5 and 6-speed manual, 4-speed automatic and CVT. At Hyundai, things are simpler with the transmission - 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic. Due to the CVT, Renault turned out to be slightly more economical than its opponent. The difference of 1 liter is not large, but when calculated over thousands of kilometers it becomes more noticeable. Many buyers in the Greta line do not have enough equipment with a 2-liter engine and manual transmission. In this regard, Renault Duster and Kaptur have a huge advantage.

Another disadvantage of Greta In front of the “French” is the ground clearance - 190 mm versus 204 mm for the Captur and 210 mm for the Duster. Considering the larger size of Renault wheels, Hyundai clearly loses on the off-road in terms of its ability to overcome steep bumps and slopes. And when installing a steel crankcase protection, the clearance decreases by another 10-12 mm, which is comparable to the ground clearance of some sedans.

A clear drawback that many Creta users have noted is the lack of a standard option like cruise control. Moreover, this function is not available even in the latest configuration of the crossover, which costs almost 1.2 million. This fact surprised many car owners.

The weak points of the car are the immobilizer and automatic transmission. Many car owners have encountered problems starting the engine. They started it every other time, and when we arrived at the official dealer, everything started working. The problem is that the immobilizer and fuel pump need to be given two to three seconds to check after inserting the key, and then turn it. Some car owners fixed the problem by cleaning the contacts on the immobilizer.

Another weak link of the model is the finicky automatic, which seems to tolerate slipping more than others. If the oil is not changed on time, the wear of the clutch and friction donut occurs much faster. Therefore, it is important to monitor the condition of the fluid and replace it in a timely manner. Another problem with automatic transmissions is the hydraulic plates, which quickly fail when overheated or the oil is of poor quality. Moreover, for boxes of types “L”, “M” and “G” this element is not universal, and the driver will have to select the appropriate hydraulic plate for a specific transmission.

Summarize

Considering all of the above, we can say with confidence that the Hyundai Greta is a good crossover that turned out to be a worthy competitor to the Renault Kaptur, and in some respects has surpassed it. It is perfectly prepared for Russian roads and is well-equipped technically (except for the lack of cruise control). Compared to the Duster, it is slightly less passable, but more comfortable and technically equipped. And minor shortcomings compared to the Sportage pale in comparison to the gigantic difference in price.

Greta is a comfortable and modern car that performs well both on the highway and off-road. There is no arguing about tastes, but one thing is for sure - the Korean newcomer has already occupied a niche in this segment and will continue to surprise consumers.

12.04.2018

The Korean company Hyundai has become popular among motorists thanks to the use of low-maintenance power units with balanced technical characteristics. Each model has unique motors, developed and manufactured at our own production facilities. The Creta crossover line is no exception. Consumers are offered the following Hyundai Creta engines:

  • 1.6 MPI;
  • 2.0 MPI.

Each of them runs on gasoline fuel. In addition, they are characterized by both positive aspects and disadvantages. There is ongoing discussion in the community regarding the possibility of using other engine options. There is a need to use diesel engines or units with a turbocharger. On the other hand, what is currently available has long been familiar to domestic owners of other car models of the Korean brand. Modernization of the design has led to increased competitiveness, while maintaining unpretentiousness and reliability - something that is valued by Russian drivers.

1.6MPI

The presented motor is part of the Gamma line with the designation G4FG. This is the most popular and best-selling Creta 1.6 engine, which is also used in a number of other vehicle models. Although the line cannot boast of the highest power ratings, this was not taken as a basis by the engineers. The management set them a fundamentally different task - to ensure a “golden mean” between noise, performance, dimensions, environmental performance and efficiency. According to critics, the specialists were more than successful in completing their mission.

The 1.6-liter Gamma G4FG engine is not a fundamentally new development of the Korean manufacturer’s engineering laboratory. It is based on another, no less popular Hyundai Gamma G4FC engine, which is very popular among Solaris owners. As for performance indicators, considering the displacement, they are more than good - in stock it is 123 horsepower. Thrust – 155 Nm.

Engine Hyundai 1.6 G4FG

If we consider the technological features of the presented engines, it is important to note that the engineers decided to use a cylinder block made of aluminum. The design provides for the presence of two camshafts in the DOHC overhead position. The gas distribution mechanism works thanks to a chain with a fairly high resource. The fuel system includes a distributed injection system consisting of a fuel rail and an injector. The intake mechanism is equipped with a system of constantly variable valve timing, called the abbreviation CVVT. The ignition system differs from that on some other engines in that the coils are now located separately - each of them is responsible for only one cylinder. As for the cylinders themselves, each of them received four valves.

An interesting decision was made for hydraulic compensators. Now they are completely absent. An alternative is a gap adjustment system, which is mechanically adjusted every 90 thousand kilometers. The use of these technological solutions has had a positive impact on the production of balanced engines that can demonstrate a good margin of reliability, unpretentiousness, and the ability of the Hyundai Creta to “digest” 92-octane gasoline. And most importantly, the 1.6-liter engine has a moderate appetite.

The G4FG model has a number of unique differences. If we consider the key features, it is again worth highlighting the CVVT system, but here it is installed on the exhaust and intake simultaneously. Keeping the ECU from Bosch allowed performance to be improved through some software manipulation. In total, the 129-horsepower engine is enough to comfortably ride around the city. But for those who find the 1.6-liter engine sluggish, it is strongly recommended to pay attention to the two-liter version.

2.0 MPI

The Creta Nu G4NA 2.0 two-liter engine cannot be called new. This is a significantly modified version of the two-liter naturally aspirated G4KD. Initially, it could not be called either powerful or economical. However, there were no complaints about it either. Nu G4NA 2.0 was first introduced in 2013. As for the design, we have in front of us the same two-liter naturally aspirated engine, built on the basis of an aluminum cylinder block. The gas distribution mechanism has a chain drive. A twin-shaft head and hydraulic valve compensators are mounted in parallel. As a result, the use of the latter allows drivers to get rid of the need to constantly check and adjust them. On the other hand, it was not without its peculiarities.

Engine Hyundai Nu G4NA 2.0

As with the 1.6-litre version, the CVVT system is also dual, meaning it is present at both input and output. The fuel system is of greatest interest. For Russian consumers, the manufacturer will initiate the supply of cars that will feature the usual distributed injection. European buyers are luckier because they get engines with direct injection and a modified CVVT system, where you can quickly adjust the height to which the valves rise. As with the less productive version, the Creta 2.0 power unit also supports the ability to operate on 92-octane gasoline.

The intrigue has developed with the performance indicators. In the passport documentation it ranges from 164 to 167 hp. For Russian consumers the numbers are more modest – 150 hp. There is a reasonable explanation for this - owners will not have to spend more money on paying taxes. On the other hand, the decrease in performance is caused only by software. You may ask - what does all this mean for the client, how can this data affect him? Everything is very simple - the buyer receives a car with power lower than declared. If necessary, with a banal chip you can increase 14-17 forces without technical adjustments, without fear that such changes will negatively affect the condition of the power plant.

Based on the above, it can be noted that the Creta’s power units are characterized by good performance and efficiency indicators. On the one hand, a potential buyer has the opportunity to choose between savings or dynamics. On the other hand, if you prefer a two-liter engine, you can significantly increase the dynamic characteristics with a simple chip. If fuel consumption is more important, it is better to pay attention to the smaller 1.6 MPI model.

➖ Build quality
➖ The appearance of rust on chips
➖ Frequent problems with the lock and trunk door
➖ High gas consumption
➖ Crickets in the cabin
➖ Sensitivity to ruts
➖ Small glove compartment

The pros and cons of the 2018-2019 Hyundai Creta in a new body were identified based on reviews from owners. More detailed advantages and disadvantages of the Hyundai Creta with manual, automatic and 4x4 all-wheel drive can be found in the stories below:

Reviews

The main thing is clearance! I stopped looking closely at every pebble on the road. Large diameter wheels add comfort when driving on bad roads. I don’t have to look out from behind the wheel onto the road (even with my considerable height). I was pleased when going out into nature - even with front-wheel drive you can drive where the road was previously closed.

A little more about consumption, since this worries many. We can say that he pleases. It all depends on the driving style of the particular driver, the time of year and where you have to drive. The first three winter thousand (although in our area last winter was warm) the consumption was 9.4-9 liters per hundred city-highway approximately 50:50. It seemed like a lot, but spring came, the running-in ended and the consumption dropped to 8 liters.

There are several reasons why you should forget about dynamic driving. I'm somewhat dissatisfied with the automatic transmission algorithm. On long climbs (or overtaking), you almost always have to use the manual mode, since the automatic transmission downshifts early and then, apart from the roar of the engine, there is little sense.

Overall I like the car. Despite the simple interior and average appearance, the Hyundai Greta is one of those that is larger inside than outside (praise be to the designers), so far it does not annoy even small jambs. And... This is a car more likely for the city, for traffic jams, for a leisurely drive. Such a workhorse for every day.

Vladimir, review about the Hyundai Greta 1.6 automatic with front-wheel drive.

I drove at night in normal conditions without rain, without oncoming traffic or splashing headlights - the light on Crete is very weak. This is the first problem. Second - the car (my opinion) is light, it basically holds the road, but due to poor lighting it flew onto a frozen roadside track, it’s good that the speed was low, it pulls off and jumps. There is a feeling of an unbalanced car, maybe it’s a matter of habit, I don’t know.

At low speeds in the snow, this lightness is even a thrill, it rows normally and skids the rear a little if you increase it, but in principle it stabilizes without interference from the steering wheel. It works quite often. The engine was not particularly broken in, but it gave off heat when overtaking. Frankly, the engine is rather weak. Maybe for now.

The car heats up quickly and efficiently. I set it to 23 according to the book, and forgot (climate). True, with frosts of minus 20-30 it tightens the windows when driving a long distance, you turn it on to normal mode, it goes away. We'll see how the air conditioner and climate will work in the summer. The ergonomics of the cabin are generally fine. The doors don't close the first time, maybe because of the frost.

Owner's review of the Hyundai Creta 2.0 with automatic transmission and all-wheel drive

Where can I buy?

In the first week, a knocking sound appeared in the trunk; I didn’t notice it until I took everything out of the trunk, including the shelves and the spare tire. I discovered a rattling noise in the trunk lock... I went to the dealer, they tightened it up and fixed it.

Second week, the next day after visiting the dealer the tire pressure gauge came on, I checked that the pressure was normal. I drove for a couple more days and the trunk lock started clanking again and gradually stopped closing the first, second, or fifth time. I visited the dealer, they changed the lock, did something to the tire pressure sensors, the light stopped burning

Over a run of 1,300 km, the consumption gradually decreased from the run-in 18-20 to 10.2 on the highway in 100/120 mode and to 12-14 in the city. And yes, guys, this is a 95 G drive)) Mileage 4,000 km, no more problems.

Among the disadvantages of the Hyundai Creta, I note that both the engine and the interior cool down quickly, there is no sealing - it comes through from the windows when closed, when reclining the seats, the air in the trunk is very noticeable, there are a lot of crickets, the trunk lock clicks in the cold, traffic safety on the highway is low - from throws the ruts straight out,
there is no lumbar support - the back gets tired after 400 km of the route, the audio is very mediocre, it can be treated at least by replacing the head.

Nikita, review about the Hyundai Creta 2.0 with an automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.

123 horsepower is quite enough for driving around the city; it’s stupid to expect any unrealistic acceleration figures from a city crossover. When driving with smooth acceleration on the streets, this engine is enough for the eyes. The 6-speed manual turned out to be cool and convenient - short travel, clear shifts and electronic assistants do their job.

It turns out that you seem to have a manual transmission, but the car still doesn’t give you complete control over yourself, but to call this a minus is complete nonsense. You just sit down and drive, getting used to everything in a matter of minutes. The only thing you need to get used to is the electronic gas pedal, the delay of which is felt by about a second.

Well, appearance is determined differently for everyone. For example, I really like her. A strong and swift silhouette in a small body. Although, by the way, there is a lot of space inside the car, both in front and in the back - I still don’t understand how they were able to achieve such a result.

Review from the owner of Hyundai Creta 1.6 on mechanics

Video review of the Hyundai Creta

The suspension is moderately stiff. In my memory, of the crossovers with a similar wheelbase, the softest is the Qashqai, the hardest is the Suzuki Grand Vitara. Creta is somewhere in the middle. The suspension is not very elastic (like the Tiguan), but not flabby (like previous Hyundais). Small bumps go well, speed bumps are no longer good if you drive at a speed of more than 30 km/h. Large potholes depending on speed. On a small scale - normal, average.

The Creta's steering handles well and does not heel - handling is at the average level of C-class passenger cars such as the Focus, which is very good. The steering wheel itself is light and gets heavier at speed, but not linearly, i.e. Already at low speed it becomes quite heavy. It is light only in parking lots and when driving at speeds up to 10 km/h. Noise insulation is average, at low speeds it is very quiet, then mediocre.

The engine follows the gas pedal well up to 60-80 km/h. Then it starts to dull. Above 100-120 km/h it already begins to howl. The box, again, works just fine up to these speeds. All this points to the urban nature of the car - it’s good to drive on average city roads and not too fast. Ideal for Moscow and the region.

The design of the interior and dashboard is simple but attractive. Like all Hyundais, the Creta has a very good appetite. Highway 9 liters, city with traffic jams and warm-ups - 13 liters. Well, this is the price to pay for a naturally aspirated engine, vigorous starts from traffic lights and a classic automatic – there’s no escape. The brakes are again average - not sharp, but informative, although somewhere from the middle of the brake pedal travel.

The build quality of the car is normal, but there is a problem with closing the fifth door - you have to slam hard. I really don’t recommend refueling with 92 and saving on engine oil (take Total Quartz) - this can cause scuffing in the cylinders in two-liter engines.
