The Mack Brothers Company was founded in February 1901 by brothers John, Augustus and William Mack, descendants of a French Huguenot family who fled to Germany and emigrated to America. The MACK brothers in the New York suburb of Brooklyn began collecting horse-drawn carts. The brothers Joseph and Charles subsequently joined them. In 1901, the five Mack brothers founded the Mack Brothers Company and began assembling small buses.

The business turned out to be very profitable, and in 1905 the firm was transferred to Allentown, Pennsylvania to expand production. There, August Mack developed and began producing simple bonnet trucks for 1.5-2 tons of cargo, which was soon followed by a 5-ton model, which had a gearbox with constant mesh gears. In 1905, August Mack invented the original spring starter for starting engines. By 1910, the range of trucks included a light 32-strong series "Junior" (Junior) with a carrying capacity of 1-2 tons and a heavy "Senior" (Senior) with a payload of up to 7.5 tons.

Externally, the cars differed, respectively, in left-hand and right-hand steering arrangements. The second group also included 4-ton trucks with a driver's seat above the engine and a characteristic “dull” shape of the front end, for which they received the nickname “Bulldog”. This was also emphasized by the new trade mark that has survived to this day in the form of a bulldog figurine. In 1911, when the staff of the company amounted to 700 people, the chassis and engines plant in Plainfield was acquired.

At the same time, the Mac brothers decided to create a small holding, International Motor Company, or IMC for short, which included the American subsidiary of the Swiss company Saurer and the small company Hewitt, known for its trucks and talented designers. IMC was doing well, and all three firms independently continued their own production. Nevertheless, the brothers remained dissatisfied and gradually left their home company. The first to leave it in 1912 was Jack Mack, who founded the company "McCart" (Massag) in the neighborhood. Then August and Joseph left.

In 1916, William (Willie) Mack founded his light truck company, Mackbilt, and was the last to leave the company in the twenties. Back in 1913, the strife and intense competition that broke out between the brothers led the Mac to serious financial problems. On the basis of the IMC, a new corporation, International Motor Truck Corporation, was created, but due to patent misunderstandings with the International Harvester company, in March 1922 it was renamed into Mack Trucks Incorporated, where by that time already none of the Mac brothers worked.

By the mid-twenties, the company had a closed production cycle, including its own foundry, tooling and woodworking shops, which employed 6,000 people. But the most important event was the invitation to "Mac" leading engineers from the company "Hewitt".
In 1913. Edward Hewitt created the "Mac AB" truck with a classic layout with a payload of 1.5-2.5 tons, which was produced until 1936. It had a monoblock 4-cylinder 30-horsepower engine, cardan or chain drive of the rear wheels with a worm gear, a stamped frame, brakes on the rear wheels with cast tires.

Subsequently, the AV trucks received a two-stage bevel final drive, electric starter and lighting, pneumatic tires and an enclosed cab. The last sixty-five strong "AB" models with a lifting capacity of 3-5 tons were equipped with a cardan drive and a new all-metal cab. Another Hewitt engineer, Alfred Masury, made the most significant contribution to the development of Mac. In 1916, he designed the most famous Mac truck and the whole world - the AC model with the unofficial name Bulldog, which justified the massive forward-tapering hood, squat posture and wide-spaced wheels, huge headlights and the ability to work in the most difficult conditions. ...

The "AC" model was offered in several versions with a carrying capacity of 3.5-7.5 tons with a wheelbase of 3962, 4267 or 4572 millimeters. 75 hp inline 4-cylinder engine located directly above the front axle, and the radiator in front of the driver's seat and cooled by the air flow from the impeller mounted in the flywheel. a four-speed gearbox was located in the middle of the chassis in a block with a main gear and differential, from which two side chains supplied torque to the rear wheels. 18 patents were issued for the constructive solutions used in “AS”.

Among them: a stamped frame made of chromium-nickel steel, pistons made of gray cast iron and cylinders cast in pairs from alloy steel, subjected to subsequent heat treatment; metal working parts, reinforced by surface compaction; a number of parts made of aluminum alloys. The crankshaft and pinions were cemented, and the front axle beam was free-forged from a steel billet. Other features of "AC" include long springs with thin sheets, widespread use of roller bearings, brakes on the rear wheels and on the transmission shaft, wide cast tires.

Since 1923, 6-cylinder engines, 97-120 horsepower (models “AN”, “AJ”, “AL”) have been used for trucks “AS”. Since 1932, construction dump trucks “AC6” with a six-cylinder one hundred and fifty strong engine have been produced. The AC series is renowned for its numerous designs, renowned for their strength and durability. It was produced without any special technical changes until 1938, having produced 40,299 cars. To the merits of Alfred Maisyuri also include the creation of the "Poppy" emblem with an ornament. The first version of the "AC" truck in 1927 was a lightweight five-ton "AK" with a cardan drive, a seventy-horsepower engine with an aluminum block head and a double final drive.

Since 1929, two and three-axle versions of the "AR" were produced with a carrying capacity of 7.5-10 tons with a new six-cylinder engine with 150 horsepower. For two axle options, a cardan drive was used, three-axle 6 × 2 trucks had a chain drive of the middle axle, but in 1931 they received an inter-axle differential and were offered with a 6 × 4 wheel arrangement. The huge success of the AC series put the management of the Mac company to sleep, which only in 1928 began the production of more sophisticated and varied bonnet trucks of the B range.

It included a large number of options (from "BB" to "BX") with a carrying capacity of 1-8 tons with engines from 57 to 128 horsepower, equipped with four or five speed gearboxes, a main double bevel or hypoid gear, several wheelbase sizes and two types of cabins. During the economic downturn, "Mac" got into a difficult situation and entered into an agreement with the company RIO (REO) to sell under the brand name "Musk Junior or Jr." a number of models of light and medium trucks RIO. So in 1934 there were bonnet machines “Mac Junior-1M”, “10M”, “20M”, “30M” and cabover “30MT” with a carrying capacity of 1-3 tons.

Since 1937, the light series "2M" was produced, similar to the "Reo Speed Delivery" model and offered in several versions with a carrying capacity of 500-750 kilograms. This treaty ended in 1938. Introduced in 1933, its own cabover series "C" marked the rejection of the outdated bonnet designs by the Mac company. More precisely, the new cars had a half-hood layout with a partially protruding engine compartment. The main models were "CH" and "CJ" with a carrying capacity of 5.5-7 tons with motors of 108 and 117 horsepower, respectively. Since 1936, their new engines began to fit completely under the cab, and for repair they were pushed forward along special guides.

In the same year, the production of a new series "E" began, which included more streamlined machines of different designs and layouts. It included an ED pickup with a 67-horsepower Continental six-cylinder engine, EV and EC delivery vans, EH, EE and EF bonnet trucks with a gross weight of 5.5-8 , 9 tons with 6-cylinder engines with a capacity of 70-90 horses, five-speed main and two-stage auxiliary gearboxes, hydraulic brakes and identical cabins with a one-piece windshield and round fenders. In 1937-38 the “E” series was replenished with heavier versions (from “EG” to “EQ”) with a total weight of up to 18 tons with engines with a capacity of 78-100 horses.

The cabover group of the “E” series with a gross weight of 5.5-10.6 tons included almost all basic vehicles with an additional letter “U” in the model index, for example, “EEU”, “EFU”, “EGU”, etc. Since 1937, instead of the “AC” and “AR” models, the production of the heavy bonnet series “F” with a chain drive began. Since 1938, it included models “FG”, “FJ”, “FK” and “FP” with a gross weight of 15.9-22.7 tons with motors up to 117 horses, as well as heavy three-axle tractors “FCSW” and “FC6 ”For towing trailers weighing 30 - 50 tons, respectively. On the F series, Cummins and Buda diesels were more widely used.

In the fall of 1938, at the New York Auto Show, Musk unveiled its first six-cylinder, four-stroke ED diesel (8510 cm 3, 131 horsepower) with direct injection and a Lanova system head. In 1939, the first mining dump truck appeared in the “Mac” program - a thirty-ton “FC” (6 × 4) with a 6-cylinder gasoline engine (185 horsepower). In 1940, the “L” series was introduced, which was conceived as the basis for an extensive family of long-haul tractors and special chassis. At first it included LF, U and LM trucks with new EN and EO 6-cylinder petrol engines (119-142 hp) and Cummins diesels.

With the beginning of the Second World War, the company specialized in heavy army trucks and tractors: 5-ton EH trucks with a 6-cylinder 110 hp petrol engine, one hundred and fifty-nine strong onboard vehicles “NM” and “NO ”(6 × 6) with a carrying capacity of 6-7.5 tons, tank carriers and“ EXVX ”(6 × 4) with a carrying capacity of 10-18 tons with its own diesel engine (123-131 hp). In total, during the war years, "Mac" manufactured 26 thousand military trucks, as well as fire trucks, torpedo aircraft and transmissions for tanks.

In the second half of the forties, "Musk" held on to previous developments, releasing pre-war models and starting a long search for their own style. The first new series “A” appeared only in 1950 and a year later it was offered in bonnet versions from “A-20” to “A-50” with a total weight of 7.7-20.4 tons with gasoline 6-cylinder low-valve engines “ Magnadyne ”and overhead valves“ Thermodyne ”with a capacity of up to 160 horses. On heavy models “A-51T”, “A-54T” (4 × 2) and “A-54S” (6 × 4), the new diesel “END-510” with the head of the “Panova” block was used. These cars were not in high demand, so the trucks that saved the Mac from bankruptcy at that time are considered the cars of the last pre-war series “L”.

Since 1947, heavy trucks “LV” and “LY” have been added to the previous models, as well as long-distance truck tractors “LFT”, “LFSW” and “LTSW” (6 × 4) with a new 160-horsepower engine “Thermodyne”, 5 or 10-speed gearboxes. The “LMSW-M” model was an off-road dump truck or truck tractor for a 45-ton road train. The three-axle LRSW tractor was equipped with a “super-reliable” rear-wheel drive “Planidrive”, which consisted of a set of roller chains, and could work as part of a road train with a gross weight of 85 tons. On its basis, the thirty-four-ton LRVSW mining dump truck was produced.

The situation improved markedly in the spring of 1953 with the advent of the bonnet series “B” with a streamlined all-metal cockpit and empennage. The first were in 1953-54 the B-20 and B-30 models with a total weight of 7.7-9.5 tons with a Magnadine engine, five or ten speed gearboxes. But the most widespread was the B-42 truck tractor. In 1956, the lightest "Musk" appeared - the "B-10" pickup, and it was followed by a diverse and very successful family of medium and heavy two and three axle trucks and truck tractors (models from "B-53" to "V-773") with a total weight of up to 28 tons.

From this range, "Mac" switched to the predominant use of diesel engines (up to 75%) and multistage gearboxes "Triplex" and "Quadraplex" with the number of gears 15 and 20. For 13 years, 127 thousand cars of the "B" series were manufactured. In the fifties and early sixties, the company produced quite a lot of search engine vehicles in small batches, but mainly the work concerned the search for the most optimal design of the trunk cabover tractor. The first in 1953 appeared a tractor of the “H” series (6 × 4), which was offered for the next 13 years with different cab options.

Since 1962, the “F” series has had the greatest success with Econodyne diesels with a capacity of 180-375 horses, a ten-speed gearbox, a new spacious cab with a sleeping block 1780 mm long .. They were produced until 1982. In 1965, the development of the “ B ”has become a multifunctional“ R ”range with stricter shapes and folding glass-plastic hood and fenders. Two and three axle chassis and tractors “RD”, “RL”, “RM” and “RS” in versions “400”, “600” and “700” (140-255 horse power units) with aggregates of different companies became the basic ones. In 1966, a so-called constant-power diesel “Maxidyne” was created for them, developing 206-237 horsepower in the range of 1200-2100 rpm.

Since 1966, production of this range began at a new plant in Hayward, California. These vehicles were the starting point for Maca subsidiaries in Australia and New Zealand. At the end of the sixties, the variants of the “R” series were the “DM” chassis for dump trucks and concrete mixers, offered in the basic versions “600” and “686” (6 × 4) with aggregates from different companies. They were assembled at a plant in Mackengee, Pennsylvania. By the 60s and 70s. also includes the production of two-axle M-series mining dump trucks, uncharacteristic for Mack, with a payload capacity of 15-65 tons with various diesel engines with a capacity of up to 600 horsepower, as well as the short-lived enthusiasm for the thirty-five-ton Mack-Pack 4x4 excavator dump trucks with rear power unit with a capacity of 450-475 horsepower, articulated frame and bottom unloading.

In 1975, using the experience of creating the "F" and "FL" series, a new cabover tractor "Cruiseliner" was built with a cab length of 1400-2300 millimeters and one of 31 engines - from six-cylinder "Mac" (235 horses) to "Detroit Diesel ”V8 (525 horsepower), including a new version of the engine“ Maxidine ”(325 horsepower). In 1977, the firm built its most prestigious bonneted long-haul tractor “RW Superliner” 6 × 4 with classic angular shapes and a huge square chrome grille, 175-550 horsepower diesels and a semi-automatic six-speed gearbox.

Since 1985, for nine years it has been offered in the second generation “RW II” with a new sleeping compartment. Two years earlier, the former Cruiseliner was replaced by an even more impressive MH Ultraliner cabover tractor with up to 525 horsepower engines, which remained in production until 1994. In 1975 the first self-propelled concrete mixer “MMM” (8 × 6) with front unloading appeared in the program. Meanwhile, by the mid-seventies, Mack was in serious financial trouble. As a result, in 1979 the French company Renault bought out 20% of its shares, and soon the production of French medium trucks “Midliner” began in the USA under the brand “Mac”, and in Australia - cars “Renault G290”.

The cars received Renault diesels (175-210 horsepower), Spicer gearboxes and Eaton axles. Further exacerbation of the crisis led to the termination in 1984 of the production of the last model of the fire engine “CE” and a number of expensive mainline tractors. At the time, it seemed that Mac had decided to devote itself to perfecting the only series of DM construction chassis, producing numerous variants for concrete mixers at factories in the USA and Canada: DM-600 and DM-800 (4 × 2 / 6 × 4/8 × 4), “DMM-6006S” (6 × 6), “DMM-6006EX” (8 × 4/12 × 6) with a total weight of 15.8-42.2 tons.

They were equipped with 17 different 237-450 horsepower diesels, including the new Mack E9 V8 (400-500 horsepower) electronically controlled engine, as well as a six-speed Maxitorque gearbox or a thirteen-speed Fuller gearbox. Of the heavy vehicles, dump trucks of the basic series “RD600 / 690”, “RD800 / 890” and tractors “RB600 / 690” with a total weight of 15-46.7 tons with engines of 253-507 horsepower and gearboxes with a number of gears 5 -eighteen. In 1986, the total volume of production decreased to 22.5 thousand cars.

In 1990, the Mac company became the American subsidiary of Renault and was able to expand the production of streamlined trucks and mainline tractors "CH" and "CL" models from "602" to "713" (4 × 2/6 × 4) with engines of 278-507 horsepower, spacious and comfortable salons, among which the "Millennium" version with a height of 2240 millimeters stood out. The total mass of vehicles of the “CH / CL” series was 15.8-38.6 tons, as part of a road train - up to 127 tons. Since 1996, a programmable integrated electronic control and diagnostic system V-MAC of the second generation has appeared on the models, and since 1998 - V-MAC III (third).

By the end of the 20th century, the Maka program also included simple cabover delivery trucks “Midliner” of the “MS” series (formerly Renault) and their bonnet versions “CS” with a carrying capacity of up to 7.5 tons, special multi-axle chassis “FDM-703 / 704 ”with one seat cab, rolling and lifting axles for large-capacity concrete mixers; low-frame chassis “MR-600/690” and “LE-603/613” with a cabover cab for mounting construction equipment and garbage trucks. They have a wheel arrangement from 4 × 2 to 12 × 8 and a gross weight of up to 35.4 tons, engines with a capacity of 253-355 horses, mechanical multistage or automatic transmissions.

Since 1999, a new mainline tractor "Vision" has been produced in two and three axle versions "СХ602" and "СХ603" with a total weight of 15.9-23.6 tons. with even more streamlined shapes, integrated sleeping compartments up to 2030 millimeters long with air suspension. It is equipped with a new six-cylinder, twelve-liter Mack E-Tech turbocharged and electronically controlled 304-466 horsepower diesel engine, several types of gearboxes with a number of 9-18 steps, anti-lock, traction control and telecommunications systems, an on-board computer, airbags and full revolving driver's seat.

In 1998, 28,340 vehicles were manufactured at all North American factories for Mac. 2010 marks the one hundred and tenth anniversary of the founding of Mack Trucks by the Mack brothers. The American commercial vehicle company developed successfully for 80 years, but by the nineties of the last century it was on the verge of ruin, and in 1990 60 percent of Mack's shares were sold to the French company Renault Vehicle Industries (RVI). The French managed to regain the popularity of the famous brand, and very soon the company began to make a profit.

As you know, "Mack Trucks" not only assembles trucks at its factories, but also produces all the necessary components and assemblies. At one time this could even be judged by the color of the bulldog on the hood of the truck: gold - all parts of the car are factory, silver - there are other people's units. Renault tractors were also equipped with Mac engines. In 2000, a partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation agreement was signed between Volvo and Renault, under which 90% of the shares of Renault's cargo division “Renault V.I. Mack. " (Renault received 10% of the shares under this agreement).

The change in the company's shareholders brought a number of significant changes to the Mack production line: the production of old FCM, MS, RD, CS models was discontinued and the assembly of new, promising ones - Le-Vision, etc. was established. The modern model range of "Mack" products includes 8 families of 7-8 classes, which can be divided into three main groups: SUVs, truck tractors and truck chassis for construction, municipal and agricultural machinery.

MАCK TRUCKS

1890 - John Jr. Jack takes a job at the Fallesen & Berry automobile manufacturer in Brooklyn.

1893 - Jack Meck and his brother August buy Fallesen & Berry.

1894 - William Meck, who ran the Scranton Carriage Works, joins his brothers' business. The railroad car production closes and the brothers focus on the production of trucks. The brothers are experimenting with steam and electric vehicles.

The early years of the 20th century were full of innovations, the revolutionary spirit of which is still felt today. In 1902, Willis Quarry introduces air conditioning; in 1903, Orville and Wilbur Wright took to the air for the first time; in 1908, Henry Ford demonstrates his model T. The Meck brothers are working on a powerful heavy truck and engines for it. In 1900, the brothers start a bus production. Meck has been manufacturing buses until 1960.

The brothers are incorporated and create a new company, Mack Brothers Motor Car Company. The Mek was one of the first manufacturers to position the driver's cab above the engine, giving a wider view of the person behind the wheel, especially on busy city streets. The Manhattan cab-over-engine model was first introduced in 1905. Meck patented several elements, for example, those that protected the engine from damage when driven by inexperienced drivers; a mechanism that allowed the driver to immediately switch from high speed to low speed, without going through the middle one.

Mek introduces a new model - a featherweight truck. Meck created the first fire truck for Morrisville. In August 1911, the brothers sell the company, and the new owners continue to work under the name International Motor Company - a holding company Mack Brothers Motor Company and Saurer Motor Company... In 1916, the famous AC model with a chain drive of the rear axle was introduced, it has established itself as a reliable and durable machine. This model was produced until 1939. Mek made military armored vehicles during the First World War. There were deliveries of cars to the UK. At the end of the war, the name of the company was changed to Mack-International Motor Truck Corporation... 1918 - Meck became the first manufacturer to install air conditioners and oil filters on trucks. In 1920, a vacuum brake booster appeared on Mack trucks. In 1922, the bulldog became the emblem of the company. Rising sales and rising demand spurred engineering. During this period, two types of trucks were produced: non-reversible and reversible.

In 1938, production of ¾ ton trucks begins. Until 1972, trucks with a volume of 15 to 100 tons were produced for mines. In the 1950s, the G, H and B models were produced. The G series trucks were equipped with an aluminum cab, which lightened the weight of the car and made it possible to increase the carrying capacity.

By 1940 in "Mack" the famous new L-series truck with a conventional cab layout is released, which has gained popularity on the east and west coasts of the country. During World War II, Mack contributed to the Allied victory by producing over 35,000 trucks for the army, of which 16,000 were equipped with diesel engines of its own production.

After the war "Mack" returned to civilian production, and the LT model appeared in 1947. This machine was created in Ellinton and was produced until 1956. Many believed that the car represented the pinnacle of diesel engineering.

Many cars appeared in the 50s "Mack Trucks" with new transmissions and rear end design.

Series B has become one of the most successful in Musk's history. These vehicles are still widely used today. The word "international" eventually disappeared from the name and only Mack Motor Truck Company up to this day.

The first diesel fire engine of the B85F series was sold in 1960.

1962 - New series of trucks with a cab above the engine, with and without sleeper, are released. 1967 - The Maxidyne engine is introduced, which flattens the horsepower curve, resulting in improved fuel economy.

In 1977 Mack trucks buys Brockway Motor company. Production Brockway stops.

In 1982, Renault increases its shares by 20%. Signal is cutting its stake by 10%. Mack introduces an ultra-liner with a fiberglass cabin. The new design is the result of reduced cab weight and improved corrosion resistance.

1983 When Mack Trucks, Inc. became a public corporation again in 1983 with an offer of 15.7 million non-preferred shares, further linking them to Renault. The two firms were in talks back in 1977 to distribute mid-range diesel trucks in North America and parts of Central America and the Caribbean. Renault and Mack partnered to launch a series of medium-duty trucks in 1979. Renault increases its stake to 40%. Signal is cutting its stake by 10.3%.

1987 Commercial Vehicles Division Renault- Renault V.I. - undergoes financial reorganization, it buys out Mack's share from the parent company.

1988 - The new E7 series is launched with a 12-liter engine. Today, this series of cars has sixteen different types of engines with horsepower numbers from 250 to 454. The E7 boasts the best power / weight ratio for maximum performance. In the same year, Mack introduced the new CH Series of Expressway Trucks.

To promote its activities, the well-known automotive company created the MACK CX truck tractor, which was designed to create full-fledged competition with the best analogues. First of all, the car is striking in comfort. The sleeping compartment is a small house about two meters long. It is spacious and light. The ceiling is fitted with a large glass sunroof, and there are windows and lots of light bulbs on the sides.

In addition, the sleeping bag Mack Vision CX 612 has a refrigerator, microwave, TV and audio system. The general interior is complemented by the familiar equipment for European trucks in the form of a front panel, a dashboard with a BC and other characteristic filling. The tractor made a splash in America. The photo shows the sample in all its glory.

In addition, the sleeping bag Mack Vision CX 612 has a refrigerator, microwave, TV and audio system.

Testing

The ceiling height of almost 2.5 meters with a total cabin volume of 16 cubic meters gives the right to call the car the dream of any trucker. Testing the car in Europe, however, was not an easy task. This is due to the difference in the requirements of the Old and New Worlds for the length of the cab and the complete road train.

Wider approvals in America allow the Mack CX 613 to be used to its fullest. Such a car for drivers in Europe is still only the ultimate dream, since here the main focus is on practicality and commercial benefits. It is also worth noting that the voltage in the model under consideration is calculated for the American indicator of 110 V, but, thanks to the converter, the system is quickly rebuilt to 220 V.

You can connect the desired device using four sockets, two of which are located in the sleeping compartment. The rest are outside under the left door (to warm up the power unit and connect the on-board system to an external source).

Specifications

Brief technical characteristics of Mack CX:

Peculiarities

The handbrake is controlled by the red button for air supply to the trailer, in contrast to the European analogue, where the "handbrake" is activated by pressing the large yellow button. The cockpit lacks many round dials and motley control keys. In the upper part of the dashboard there is an activator of the "parachute" system, which allows you to brake the trailer on the go.

The instrument panel is digitized in miles, it is absent altogether, since it is not relevant for America. At the bottom left is the rear air suspension pressure gauge. The diagnostic monitor is in its usual place, as opposed to the location of the control buttons. Cruise control is adjusted by the left-hand lever under the steering wheel. The function of restoring a previously set gear is in most cases absent. The clutch is quite tight, but, after acquiring certain skills, the transmission can and should be stuck by accelerating the car to certain revolutions, without using the clutch (on mechanical unsynchronized boxes).

The instrument panel is digitized in miles, the tachograph is absent altogether, since it is not relevant for America.

The control system for the gas and brake pedals is informative and soft. There is an ABS, a decompression brake with three valve modes: activation after a braking command with two cylinders, four or six (at maximum load). On a slippery road, the center differential lock helps out. Among the technical characteristics, it is possible to note the possibility of giving a double sound signal, a sophisticated audio system with 8 speakers and other amenities (lockers, refrigerator, vacuum cleaner, flat screen TV, DVD player and carpet on the floor).

Truck tractors in Russia - the advantages of Mack Truck

The auto concern, founded more than a hundred years ago by the Mac brothers, is a tradition of impeccable quality. The legend of the car market from Mack Truck is the world famous model of the "AC" truck, named "Bulldog" for its characteristic design and unique performance: massive hood tapering forward, wide-set wheels, squat "posture", increased power and ability to work in extremely difficult conditions.

MACK TRUCK- a plant known all over the world. It is not only a manufacturer of tractors, but also one of the leading manufacturers of high-quality powerful motors , which are supplied not only to vehicles of our own production, but also to other American and European tractors. Therefore, the purchase of a new truck tractor from us in St. Petersburg or Perm, made to order, according to Russian road and weather conditions, taking into account the low quality of fuel, will be a clear advantage over cars purchased based on availability and cost from intermediaries.

Why Mack tractors are bought from Continent LLC

Our truck tractors in Russia, unlike all other tractors brought from America, were not simply bought at an auction or through intermediaries, namely ORDERED directly at the MACK factory, and collected specially for Russia: selected bridges, gearbox, suspension, taking into account Russian operating and repair conditions. Namely, for a long time known to everyone: EATON FULLER box, MERITOR axles, VOLVO 670 suspension, etc.

By purchasing new truck tractor with us, you will not need to think about how to get rid of exhaust gas cleaning and recirculation systems (or another option is permanent replacement or repair), which cause the bulk of the problems during the operation of the car.

Visit the salon of trucks of the "Continent" company and select a new truck tractor, depending on your tasks.

Last winter. Then it was announced that the Titan, the company's flagship model, which had been produced unchanged since 2008, was being discontinued. And now its worthy replacement is presented - a completely new Mack Anthem.

Anthem is translated from English as the anthem. And the appearance of the new Mack tractor fully corresponds to its name. Everything is in the best traditions of the company: a long hood with a bulldog figure, a massive front bumper with chrome inserts and a spoiler in the lower part, wide fenders - they have fully LED headlights that shine 66% brighter than usual. Another distinctive feature is the additional rear-view mirrors located directly on the bonnet. They not only improve rearward visibility, but also help the driver feel the size.

Despite the external massiveness and impressiveness, the tractor's aerodynamics are well developed. The shape of the cab, the spoiler under the bumper and the gaps above it, covered with special shields, save up to 3% fuel compared to the previous model.

The interior of Anthem's cockpit is fully consistent with its futuristic exterior, but at the same time it has many traditional American truck details. Depending on the configuration, the plastic front panel can have aluminum or natural wood inserts. The driver is surrounded by a traditional scattering of buttons and various toggle switches, but the truck's systems can also be controlled from the five-inch color touchscreen. The most important and frequently used functions are located on the buttons on the steering wheel. Well, the number of various shelves, drawers and especially cup holders in the cockpit is simply incalculable.

The huge sleeping compartment allows you to stand up to full height. Inside it is practically a small apartment. There is a microwave, TV, wardrobe and a giant bed. The length of the sleeping bag alone is almost 180 cm. Of course, there will be simpler versions: with a sleeping bag 120 cm long, as well as without it at all.

Mack Anthem will be available in three flavors

When it comes to powertrains and transmissions, Anthem has a huge selection to choose from. Available for him are 11- and 13-liter engines ranging from 325 to 505 hp. with. and a torque of up to 1860 Nm. Transmissions - mechanical (Maxitorque or Eaton Fuller), robotic (MDrive) or fully automatic (Allison). Bridges - Mack, Meritor or Dana.

Interestingly, every Anthem in America will be connected to the Mack Connect network. With its help, information from hundreds of sensors inside the truck can be transmitted to the dispatch service. This will allow large companies to track the location of their vehicles, and drivers, in the event of a tractor breakdown, immediately send data to a service station.
