Diagnostics

We carry out diagnostics using specialized scanners. This operation (diagnostic work) is necessary to determine the nature of errors and defects in the operation of the automatic transmission. Diagnostics of the Hyundai I30 automatic transmission is carried out in accordance with production technological regulations. The cost of carrying out diagnostic work is 1500 rubles.

Possible defects in the operation of the automatic transmission Hyundai I30

When operating the car, problems may arise due to the resulting leakage of the body and damage to the seals. It happens that the clutch burns. Defects are manifested in the loss of 4-5-6 gears, which requires transmission repair.

Important! It is recommended to replace the transmission fluid after 30-40 thousand kilometers. Such a frequency of fluid changes allows the wear products of the transmission to be removed from the assembly.

Changing the oil in the Hyundai i30 gearbox is most often associated with the repair of the automatic transmission itself, or it is replaced with a new one in the course of work to eliminate oil leaks, since it must be drained for work. The oil in the automatic transmission is poured by the manufacturer once for the entire service life of the car. It is recommended to entrust the oil change in the Hyundai i30 automatic transmission to professionals, but in some cases you can handle this operation on your own.

Functions of ATF oil in automatic transmission Hundaya and 30:

  • effective lubrication of rubbing surfaces and mechanisms;
  • reduction of the mechanical load on the units;
  • heat removal;
  • removal of microparticles formed due to corrosion or wear of parts.
The color of ATF oil for automatic transmission Hyundai i30 allows not only to distinguish oils by type, but helps to find out in case of a leak, from which system the fluid escaped. For example, oil in automatic transmission and power steering has a red tint, antifreeze is green, and in the engine it is yellowish.
Reasons for oil leakage from automatic transmission in Hundaya and 30:
  • wear of automatic transmission oil seals;
  • wear of the surfaces of the shafts, the occurrence of a gap between the shaft and the sealing element;
  • wear of the automatic transmission sealing element and the speedometer drive shaft;
  • play in the input shaft of the automatic transmission;
  • damage to the sealing layer in the joints between the automatic transmission parts: pallet, automatic transmission housing, crankcase, clutch housing;
  • loosening of the bolts that ensure the connection of the above parts of the automatic transmission;
The low oil level in the Hyundai i30 automatic transmission is the main reason for the failure of the clutches. Due to the low fluid pressure, the clutches do not press well against the steel discs and do not contact each other tightly enough. As a result, the friction linings in the Hyundai i30 automatic transmission get very hot, carbonized and destroyed, significantly contaminating the oil.

Due to a lack of oil or low-quality oil in the Hyundai i30 automatic transmission:

  • plungers and channels of the valve body are clogged with mechanical particles, which leads to a shortage of oil in the packages and provokes wear of the sleeve, rubbing pump parts, etc.;
  • steel transmission discs overheat and wear out quickly;
  • rubberized pistons, thrust discs, clutch drum, etc; overheat and burn out;
  • the valve body wears out and becomes unusable.
Contaminated automatic transmission oil cannot fully dissipate heat and provide high-quality lubrication of parts, which leads to various malfunctions of the Hyundai i30 automatic transmission. Heavily contaminated oil is an abrasive slurry that creates a sandblasting effect under high pressure. An intense impact on the valve body leads to a thinning of its walls at the locations of the control valves, as a result of which numerous leaks may occur.
You can check the oil level in the Hyundai i30 automatic transmission using a dipstick. The oil dipstick has two pairs of marks - the upper pair Max and Min allows you to determine the level on hot oil, the bottom pair - on cold oil. Using the dipstick, it is easy to check the condition of the oil: you need to drip oil onto a clean white cloth.

When choosing a Hyundai i30 automatic transmission oil for replacement, you should be guided by a simple principle: it is best to use the oil recommended by Hyundai. In this case, instead of mineral oil, you can fill in semi-synthetic or synthetic, but in no case should you use oil "lower class" from the prescribed one.

Synthetic oil for automatic transmission Khundaya i30 is called "non-replaceable", it is poured for the entire service life of the car. This oil does not lose its properties under the influence of high temperatures and is designed for a very long term use of the Hyundai i30. But we must not forget about the appearance of mechanical suspension as a result of wear of the clutches with a very significant mileage. If the automatic transmission has been operated for some time in conditions of a lack of oil, it is required to check the degree of its contamination and, if necessary, replace it.

Ways to change the oil in the automatic transmission Hyundai i30:

  • Partial oil change in the Hyundai i30 box;
  • Complete oil change in the box Hundaya i30;
A partial oil change in the Hyundai i30 automatic transmission can be done independently. To do this, it is enough to unscrew the drain on the pallet, driving the car onto the overpass, and collect the oil in a container. Usually up to 25-40% of the volume flows out, the remaining 60-75% remains in the torque converter, that is, in fact, this is an update, not a replacement. To update the oil in the Hyundai i30 automatic transmission to the maximum in this way, 2-3 replacements are required.

A complete oil change of the automatic transmission Hyundai i30 is carried out using the installation for changing the oil in the automatic transmission, by specialists in the car service. In this case, more ATF oil will be required than the Hyundai i30 automatic transmission can accommodate. One and a half or double volume of fresh ATF is used for flushing. The cost will be more expensive than partial replacement, and not every car service provides such a service.
Partial ATF oil change in the Hyundai i30 automatic transmission box according to the simplified scheme:

  1. Unscrew the drain plug, drain the old ATF oil;
  2. We unscrew the automatic transmission pan, which, in addition to the bolts holding it, is processed along the contour with a sealant.
  3. We get access to the automatic transmission filter, it is advisable to change it with each oil change, or rinse it.
  4. At the bottom of the pallet there are magnets that are necessary for collecting metal dust and shavings.
  5. We clean the magnets and rinse the pan, wipe dry.
  6. Install the automatic transmission filter in place.
  7. We install the automatic transmission pan in place, replacing the automatic transmission pan gasket if necessary.
  8. We tighten the drain plug, replacing the drain plug gasket for the automatic transmission.
We fill the oil through the technological filler hole (where the automatic transmission dipstick is located), using the dipstick we control the oil level in the automatic transmission to a cold one. After changing the oil in the automatic transmission, it is important to check its level after driving 10-20 km, already with the automatic transmission warmed up. Top up if necessary. The regularity of oil changes depends not only on the mileage, but also on the nature of the ride on the Hyundai i30. You should be guided not by the recommended mileage, but by the degree of contamination of the oil, systematically checking it.

This video demonstrates how the oil is changed in a box (automatic) Hyundai i30. This procedure can be done by hand.

When to change and what kind of oil to pour into the automatic transmission Hyundai i30

The Hyundai i30 repair manual recommends an automatic transmission oil change frequency of 75,000 km. In many ways, this interval depends on oil quality and operating conditions- if they are heavy, it can be reduced to 60 or more thousand kilometers.

How to change the oil in the automatic transmission Hyundai i30

To change the oil in the box, you need to unscrew the protection (if any), then place the container under the drain hole and unscrew the drain plug. There is a washer on the cork that changes with state.

Be careful with hot oil if it changes to hot!

Approximately 4 liters of oil will flow out. When the oil has escaped completely, you should unscrew the bolts around the perimeter of the oil sump and remove the lower part to drain more oil. This is also done so that clean the magnets, which collect production and be sure to replace the automatic transmission filter.

In more detail, how the oil is changed in the Hyundai i30 automatic transmission is shown in this video with instructions.

It should be noted that this is a partial oil change in the Hyundai i30 automatic transmission! Since for a complete replacement, you need a special stand and service equipment, or pour through the drain through a thermal stabilization system.

Hyundai I30 automatic transmission oil change

If we want to see the car of the future, then it is enough to watch the film "5th Element" and imagine what awaits us. It seems to me that this is really our future, only I will not live to see it, I can’t check it, and no one can tell me. Modern technologists make disposable machines that do not need to be serviced. And everything is done so that the person himself does nothing in the car. I would think about putting the windshield washer filler neck into the glove compartment, and weld the hood tightly so that it will not be opened anymore. But this is so, for the future, and now I will tell you about changing the oil in the Hyundai I30 automatic transmission.

Visually, the box on it is from the 10th generation Mitsubishi Lancer, only slightly modified so that they do not climb there at all. There is no oil dipstick, instead of it there is a plug through which oil must be poured. The drain plug is in the same place where it should be, and to control the level, they made a tricky plug on the front cover.

Well, let's start. First, remove the air filter and unscrew its case. Thus, we get to the filler neck, into which we will pour oil.

Then there is the dilemma, how much oil fits into the box? Yesterday we changed the oil on a 10m Lancer, after flushing exactly 4 liters fit in there. Here, most likely, the same amount will fit, but you need to make sure of this. We unscrew the control plug and drain the oil into the container. It turns out about 1.3 liters.

After that, pour clean oil into the box so that it flows normally and does not gurgle, remove one of the box cooling hoses. Otherwise, you will start changing the oil in the morning and finish it in the evening. After that, the traditional oil displacement change, and the final filling of fresh oil into the box. You can safely pour all 4 liters without a trace.

After you fill in the oil and return everything to its original state, start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes. Then we switch gears to D and R a couple of times, and leave it in N or P. After that, ON THE RUNNING engine, unscrew the control plug and look at the oil stream. If it hits like from Niagara Falls, then we poured the oil, and we wait until the slurry calms down and flows in a thin stream. If a thin stream immediately flows, close the cork and go to put a candle on the altar of the car mechanic - the work is over.

And if after that the car still leaves on its own, we add the second to the first candle. Well, if you can't do it yourself, please contact ours.
